Enterprise takes reservations on their website for cars they do not have & cannot get. I made a reservation for a Chevy Suburban to transport family for an upcoming wedding. I was called the following morning & told that no such car would be available & the best they could do would be a Toyota Highlander. When I complained about this, they gaslight me by saying that they don't know when vehicles are going to be returned?!? Hertz & Avis manage to not take reservations for cars that don't exist. Why can't Enterprises manage to do the same thing? Now I get to scramble to find an alternative solution to move 6 older adults to a wedding in a couple of hours. Thanks Enterprises! read more

I went to this Enterprise location to swap out a car I had rented from another store. I got there not too long before closing but Chris, the manager, was super nice about getting me back on the road again quickly. He apologized when it took a few extra minutes to switch my ticket over from the other location - when it should have been me apologizing for coming in so last minute because I got stuck in some unexpected traffic. June 2023 I contacted Enterprise on the website received a quote for a full-size car $60.00 per day and I booked the car. I then went to my mechanic and dropped off my car because it needed repairs. I then went to Enterprise to pick up my rental. Guess what they did not have a full-size car. According to them the only car available was a Nissan Armada cost $168.00 per day. I am a long-time renter of Enterprise and what they use to do was either drive you to another location to get a car or give you the car they have at the rate quoted in the reservation. They did neither and told me if I wanted the Armada the rock bottom price was $168.00. I took the rental because I needed a car. I live in New York, and I needed to get home after work, but it left a bad taste in my mouth. I have not and do not plan on renting from Enterprise. I remember they use to be very concerned about what you said it the surveys, but I guess that is not the case. Came in to rent a car since my car was getting repaired after someone rear ended me. The car the guy gave me smelt HORRIBLE of smoke the second I stepped into it. I was having a full on coughing attack after because I am allergic to smoke. The guy gave me another guy but charged me for it when the insurance was supposed to cover this. Honestly this Location has been a nightmare for us. As our car was totaled, we had a reservation through insurance. We called to see if we could pick up a car and they had none available and sent us to Astoria NY, as that was the only location that had one available at that time. When we went all the way to Astoria to pick up the only car they had available was a Yukon XL. We asked if we could swap the car to a smaller car at the Norwalk location when they had one available and they said yes. Since then we've called the Norwalk location at least 10 times throughout 2 weeks asking to swap the car to a smaller one. Each time they take down our name and number and never call back. This morning I called and they said I had to go back to the location I got it from, then put me on hold and hung up from me. I had to call back, it's just been a nightmare. The gas filling up a Yukon XL for weeks has been crazy as we do a lot of driving. All we want is a smaller car. A Yukon XL is ridiculous. I've called all surrounding enterprises and no help either. THE WAY THE MANAGER HANDLED THIS SITUATION WAS NOT ACCEPTABLE! read more

This enterprise car rental location gives excellent customer service. This is the third time I have rented from this location and have always been satisfied with the treatment. This time I was renting a car while I was in Connecticut for the Christmas season. I had booked the same size car with an Internet travel site at a lower price. Enterprise honored that price. The car was comfortable and reliable. However after a couple of days I started to notice a strong odor of cigarette smoke. I meant to call enterprise and let them know but I was too busy. On the day that I was to return the car, the enterprise office was closed. Since I had no way of getting back home without the usual enterprise drop off and pick up service, I kept the car for an extra day. When I returned the car the next day and told the manager why I had kept it for an extra day and also told him about the car smelling of cigarettes smoke, the manager made a price adjustment to accommodate my inconvenience. And I was not charged for the extra day. I would definitely recommend enterprise on Main Avenue in Norwalk to anyone who is interested in renting a car. The assistant manager, Larissa, also made my rental experience go smoothly. In summary, without the two glitches that I mentioned previously, enterprise in Norwalk is definitely my local car rental agent. read more

Booked a large SUV for a college move in. The store called and confirmed our booking the day before pick up. We arrived as scheduled to pick the car up and were told they didn't have the car we booked. Offered us a flatbed truck. Told us not to worry, they would let us know when a car came in! Having had a problem with another rental location these guys made my experience less painful. Enterprise in Norwalk. The last storm a tree fell on my sisters car and she went to enterprise to rent a car. This was her first time renting a car. She picked the car sign paperwork and left. She only used the car to go grocery shopping and Church service. She picked up her car after it was fixed and left her car at the autobody shop, which they said that she can do. After a couple hours later she gets a call from her insurance company that enterprise put a claim, that the car was damaged caused by her. She couldn't believe it within minutes later enterprise called and accused her of damage to the car. Her insurance company asked her if enterprise showed her the car and do a walk-through she replied that no they did not she did not even know they were even supposed to do that. This was her first time renting a car and they took advantage of her inexperience. Now she is stating that they took money from her credit card and it's asking for damages to the car. The kid who was working at enterprise failed to follow proper procedure. This is unacceptable and I will write a review and let everyone know not to use enterprise. I will post on social media. We believe this is an insurance fraud and a scam and we will contact an attorney to investigate. read more

Although my most recent encounter with Enterprise started out a bit shaky with delivery of a car that was not quite up to standards my dissatisfaction was addressed immediately by staff at this location. A second car was delivered to my place of work and was in perfect condition. Kim, the manager, was polite, understood customer relations, and willing to go the extra mile for customer satisfaction. She charges my card and tells me im being upgraded-to a ford expedition. They have nothing else. Dont know when they will get anything else. I had to go to work. AVIS had card. The pick up was prompt and driver intelligent and curteous. Every aspect of the experience was positive except for the car itself. I had rented from them before, and the car had been fine. But this last time, it had a stinky, stale cigarette odor. I mentioned it as I sat in the car and was told they could see if they could find another car for me. It was Monday morning, and I was in a hurry, so I said, let me see if the intensity lessons with driving. Fortunately I didn't have to drive it very much over the three days I needed it. To their credit, Enterprise called me later that day to see how things were going with the car and offered to change out the car, but I didn't feel like driving the 15 minutes away to make the exchange. So I said, it was the same, but I'd deal with it. A few days after I turned the car in, I received a call from Enterprise asking how my experience was. When I shared, the young lady appologized and offered me a credit to make up for it. I would definitely rent from this Enterprise location again. Will never go back to this place Very disappointed with the service I received. I was sent to Enterprise by my insurance company while my car was being fixed ( I would have chosen Hertz if given the choice). I was given a $30 a day rental max and asked for a car that was $30 a day so I would not have to pay anything extra. I was given a car that was $33.75 a day and was told that was the closest they had. I ended having to pay the difference for 10 day which ended up being $90 dollars. Very upset that a $3.75 charge totaled 90 dollars for 10 days. A co-worker also had the same issue and they refused to pick her up/drop her off even though they make that statement on their recording. read more
