I reserved a small car and was presented a muscle car -- the only rental in the lot -- because the customer with the small car was late returning it. I waited 1 hour for the small car renter to return it in a fluster. I took it with ¼ tank of gas and no cleaning because I was very late. Avis needs a bigger inventory at this location or for some rental car competition but unfortunately Avis has a monopoly here.

I rented a car, which they brought to me at a nearby dealer, that was so full of cigarette smoke that it made me sick. I drove it home with the windows open, and returned it (through the I-95 traffic) the next day for a car with somewhat less cigarette smoke. And to show just how little Toyota of Stamford Rental Cars cares about their cars, or their customers, this second car has a big cigarette burn hole right through the fabric of the front passenger seat. And I promise you that neither employee who took care of me cared one little puff. If you care about product, service, or class, shop somewhere else. Zero stars.

My vehicle was being repaired at Pray Body Shop, and the coordination between the two companies made everything seamless. When my Audi was finished, I simply left the Enterprise rental at Pray Body Shop, and they handled returning it to Enterprise for me. It couldn't have been easier. When I got there they had to pick up from another enterprise. We were going on vacation and so no rush. My daughter really wanted the minivan. Well it came, but the staff was uncomfortable letting us use it (apparently the prior renter dinged it up). So they were extremely apologetic and gave us an upgrade to the suburban instead without additional costs. Like I said. Customer service has been on it lately.

In any case we were overcharged (on two items) when we returned the car. It was impossible to get an explanation of the charges from the Budget office in Stamford. They kept telling us that the overcharge was "all taxes", which it clearly wasn't. I've tried several times to reach the office to get this resolved, but they either don't answer the phone at all, or answer and put me on an endless hold. Bottom line: this office is very sloppy and unprofessional. It's a shame, since this is the office at the Stamford train station, which makes it very convenient. You should not rent from this office -- it's the worst Budget location I've ever dealt with.

Turns out the employee was inside and forgot to take his sign down and unlock the door. Things I was NOT happy with: The employee had me sign all paperwork - including the one diagramming where damage was present on the vehicle - BEFORE the vehicle inspection. (?!) Um, WTH. The vehicle I was given was dusty and had not been cleaned out. There was used gum in the front console. Gross! If you rent from them, document everything!
