    After I posted this my review about how terrible the service I received I got an email from customer service as follows:- the email does not work at all and this is how they resolve customer service issues with such a big name where Customer Service is our way is in actual we don't care about the customer service...

I don't hate rental car companies, but I can say that it's rarely a "enjoyable" experience. Typically long waits, huge upsell attempts and a ton of paperwork. Well, that's not the experience I had at this Hertz! For this particular situation, I had to get a State Farm Insurance approved rental after totaling my SUV. After I called SFI and they set up the rental I received an email saying call Hertz, you'll all set. Doing just as they requested, I called Hertz and the manager actually went over my options to maximize the amount of time I could get my rental for (basically try to use the most reasonable size car you can when you have no idea if / when you'll know about your own car). Paul was really cool and very speedy. Once I arrived Paul had literally pulled my car up to the front of the hotel and had all the paperwork ready to go. He submitted the claim to State Farm and took my credit card for deposit, walked out side to show the car / existing condition and he handed me the keys to say...Have nice day. I was dreading the process before I got there and was I ever pleasantly surprised to go through a relatively painless process. Note, since I picked up the rental and write this review I had to change to a larger vehicle for 2 days. It was NO PROBLEM and they even went so far as to transfer a car for me the same day to another location closer to me and staying open longer so I could get it. This was a legit effort and one that was not unrecognized. Bravo Hertz Marriott Airport Hotel!

Ah great, just what you want to hear when you land with 2 cranky kids. At first I thought that the staffer was trying to scam me into paying a higher rate, but it turns out that the issue was legitimate. I used a Costco rate code when I booked and at the counter they needed proof of membership. I didn't have the Costco card in my wallet, so I tried to reach my wife who also has a card. Of course, I couldn't reach her and the entire time I'm on the phone the agent was like "if you can't reach her you gotta pay full rate", like impending doom over my shoulder. Well, after 15 stressful minutes of calling and texting, with my 2 kids starting to freak out from boredom and hunger, I was finally able to reach her and she gave me the details so we could get going. Quick bit of customer feedback. With regard to Costco rate codes, maybe Avis can add a slot on the reservation form for Costco membership numbers? Then the customer can add it beforehand rather than scramble for a card at the counter? It's a bit ridiculous to assume everyone will have their Costco card when they go in vacation, right? Or maybe I'm the first knucklehead that this happened to. Either way... Anyway, with all that sorted I went over the get my SUV which was an almost brand new GMC Acadia. Barely had 1000 miles on it. Beautiful. The rest of the trip was uneventful, thankfully.

The agent said I would have to pay $170.00 for returning it late. The agent said it didn't matter if it was 1 hr or 24hrs later. I've never heard of such a high penalty. When I use enterprise they charge $40 to $50 if it's over a few hrs late. Sometimes they waive it since I'm a platinum member. I won't use Budget or Avis rental going forward. Their penalties are highly excessive. It's ironic that their name Is Budget rental.

I experienced them doing this to another customer which I have video evidence of. A week later they charged my card $181 saying it was for tolls when I took the street routes my entire trip making sure to not go through tolls or get on any hi ways. They have not provided an invoice from Sun Pass showing charges or me going through tolls, just charged my card. This fraudulent and scamming seems to be a regular business practice of theirs. I plan to legally pursue this matter. Please report any fraudulent charges and illegal practices you have experienced with them to all of the following.
