I visited this Enterprise location to pick up a rental vehicle that had been arranged through my insurance after my personal vehicle was damaged in an accident. Instead, I was left without transportation. I presented my Florida Temporary Driving Permit, which was issued by the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles while I await my permanent driver's license. The staff informed me they could not rent to me because the document says "permit" instead of "license." The matter was escalated to Area Manager Shane, who upheld the decision and advised that Enterprise could not rent to me. The document I presented clearly identifies my Driver License Number, License Class: E, issue date, expiration date, and that it was issued by the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, Division of Motorist Services. I also offered to provide my U.S. passport as additional government-issued identification. What I found most disappointing was that there appeared to be no effort to evaluate the document as a whole or exercise the discretion described in Enterprise's published policy. Instead, the decision appeared to be based solely on the word "permit," despite the document clearly identifying my Driver License Number, License Class: E, issue date, expiration date, and that it was issued by the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, Division of Motorist Services. Ironically, the document was rejected because it uses the word "permit," even though it is the very credential issued by the State of Florida that permits me to legally operate a motor vehicle while awaiting my permanent driver's license. Enterprise's published policy states that temporary driver's licenses may be refused if the location is unable to verify the customer's identity or the authenticity of the temporary license. I was willing to provide additional government-issued identification, including my U.S. passport, yet there did not appear to be any attempt to verify my identity or evaluate the credential beyond its title. As someone already dealing with the aftermath of an accident, this experience added unnecessary stress and left me without the insurance replacement transportation I was expecting. They clearly have someone copying and pasting replies to any bad reviews pretending like they want additional information to follow up on the issue, but they never do. The responses are all exactly the same on Yelp, Google, and other review platforms. And I can attest that there is no further follow up. Also, there is no contact information anywhere on their website except for the phone number, which, even today, Enterprise does not answer. Worst experience ever renting a car in FL .. Manager lacks management skills by not training staff & by coldly leaving me stranded in FL.. I come from out of state & made reservation for 11/26/2024. I called prior to assure them I was out of state & that I need my rental equipped with easy pass for I was heading 4 hrs away to Miami . Rented a car from them when our car had to go in to be fixed. First they said I had no reservation, um yes I did. Then the person who came to pick me up and then check me out was a real piece of work, and not in a good way. No social skills and a real #@#*. He said all they had available was a mini van, great with gas prices. but I needed the car. We always have an excellent experience with Enterprise Rent-A-Car located on Highway 50. Their vehicles have low mileage and are very clean. It is a pleasure to interact with a staff that is professional, friendly and accommodating. The real bonus here is the after hours drop box. As a frequent traveler, I've had my share of car rentals and its annoyances... However, with Enterprise Rent - A - Car here in Winter Garden, more often then not, they are more hassle they are worth. Being conveniently located to my home, I find that they are inept in providing a selection of vehicles let alone, having a vehicle for the class which I have reserved. Most recently, I reserved a standard class vehicle (VW Jetta or the like), knowing that they would be basic rental vehicles, nonetheless, I arrive to the location only to be told, they had available, minivans and pickup trucks. Umm... no... Here is where customer service comes into play... there was not a mention of "oh let us see if we have something available at our other locations" it was just "sorry". Are you for real... I understand they are not an airport location, but with the security fee they add to your rental only to be removed at the rental return, you would think they have more of a variety or at a minimum, have the class of vehicle for each reservation... Nonetheless, they are conveniently located but very inconvenient and more a hassle then a help. read more

I really cannot think of anything that this location could improve upon. Staff is super positive and helpful, even helping me carry my bags and load the car. Just so you know, there is a hold that is place on your card when you rent, but it is taken off once the car is returned. You receive 250 free miles and anything over that you are charged per mile. . .not sure by how much as I traveled under 250 miles. Everything was quick, and the car was great. The ladies at this location (specifically Stephanie and Naomi) know what good customer service is all about. I recently had to rent a truck for a few days while mine was in the shop and my insurance carrier sent me here. I can't imagine having to rent a car or truck is ever really fun but the ladies made the best of it. They made sure everything was explained to me in detail and made sure all my questions were answered before moving on. The whole process was fairly quick and painless, they did their due diligence in explaining all the services I could purchase (insurance, etc) but didn't shove it down my throat. I booked a car in advance and the day of pick up everyone was very nice to me they even gave me a "free upgrade." I really apreaciated their kindness I was still distraut thinking about my car in the shop. When I actually drove the car longer than the 12 minutes it took me to get home the clean smell wore off and I was left with stale ciggarrette aroma, upon further inspection I found a ciggarrette burn on the driver seat, broken plastic on the passenger seat. The liner in the trunk is not fastened down and does not apear to fit. The sound quality from the speakers is what you would expect from an older car. I had to clean the interior of the windshield because the smear of what I hope was only soda pop was on the inside and not the outside. The windshield washer fluid ran low after one use. After I parked it at my place of employment so it sat in a very hot parking lot for 10 hours that evening I discovered the airconditioner smelled like a cross between dirty socks and vinegar. The cigarette smell was already making me nauseous. Over all I am very embarrassed to be paying money to be seen in this "upgrade". I am now made fun of for being to nice and not demanding quality. I emailed the agent that assisted me asking him to not let this happen to anyone else... He did not responde, so I copied another enterprise agent and sent it again with no answer. I strongly advise anyone wanting to rent with enterprise to not go alone, bring a friend to help you inspect the car before you sign any paperwork. This experience has been the absolute WORST I have ever had with a car rental company. I travel and rent cars constantly making this review more meaningful because it is uncommon to be treated this badly and to waste so much time and money because a company simply does not care about service. I recommend NEVER renting or returning a car to this Enterprise location. Firstly, they were not open when I had to bring my car back, at 2:30pm this past Saturday, AND they do not allow you to leave the keys or the car after hours. The front door sign said they open at noon on Sunday, so I started calling at noon- I left the car in their lot and kept the keys since I was leaving town and was not going to get another chance to drop this car off. Sunday I called the office for 2 hours with no answer, I called Enterprise customer service 4x and tried to get them to respond that way. No Luck. I called Monday and asked if they would pick up the keys locally from my friend, they said, no just mail them. Anyway they CHARGED ME EVERY SINGLE DAY that car was sitting in their lot and they would not answer the phone OR pick up the keys. I have proof that it was returned on time, I called more than 10x total trying to get this right, my time is worth even more than this stupid overcharge of $176. The Stress, the Continued Fight, the bullshit treatment...after spending so much time and effort trying to do the right thing, they dare to make it much worse. They are not going to take my money and waste my time - especially valuable vacation time - THIS PLACE SUCKS!! Took a trip to NY. Very affordable rental! Rented a Chevy Trax for the week with no problems! Reason a star is missing is because they didn't clean the car outside prior and I had to clean the windows just to be able to see. Also, the windshield wiper fluid froze when in NY and I had to keep pulling over to clean it. They may want to try a different fluid for those types of situations. Overall great experience from quick and easy pick up to fast and smooth return. Got my deposit back next day. Will rent again. read more

We rented a large, luxury SUV from this location, it was not cheap but for the right vehicle it made sense. Upon driving the vehicle we noticed a strong smell of fuel. It was so bad that people we parked near commented on it. The worst part was that the smell was in the cabin of the vehicle too. I called to report the issue and was told to call the Enterprise location closest to where we were located. The representative at that location told us that there was a shortage of third row vehicles and she couldn't help. Essentially, we were stuck with a car that smelled bad with some kind of issue. We dreaded getting into the car but were far from home and had no other options. I even asked the local office if I should take it to a repair center and they said no. When I returned the vehicle, I reminded the office of the horrible smell and experience and stressed the need for the car to be evaluated as I was concerned it was dangerous or potentially harmful to someone else. I was told they would look into it. Apparently, that was not done, as I learned that the vehicle was rented again and the vehicle caught on fire and burned up. Glad it didn't happen to us, but scary to think this situation could have killed someone. Fortunately, the people that the vehicle caught on fire with, were safe but unnecessarily inconvenienced. read more

Ugh! This place is absolutely the WORST! If your auto insurance sends you here due to claim, request another location as you will be paying out the nose before you are done! This location will do anything in their power to make up charges to get any additional $ they can out of you, once the insurance company is done. The first time, I didn't know better and I picked the closest Enterprise location, as my prior insurance company used them for claims. After such a poor experience,I have to wonder if insurance companies & Enterprise collude to upcharge you/deny claims and then split the proceeds. Of course, this location can never "pick you up" (their catchphrase) - there's only a few slots per day or that's what they said. I could wait til the next day though or hitch a ride as my car was totaled. Then, they didn't have the smaller car I requested. Got a gas hog in the Dodge Charger- LOVE it! Read the fine print, if you can, but nowhere on the contract does it mention their hours - this location closes early Saturday (noon) and is not open Sundays (which is when my 30 days of insurance rental was up). If you're a minute late, they will try to charge you an extra day, even if you are unable to return due to their being closed. Despite dropping off before opening, they tried to charge me for two extra days and an exhorbitant detailing charge, despite my bringing a wet/dry vac to the facility to finish off the cleaning after spending 1.5 hours the day before. Careful if you have dogs or happen to have a 501c3 dog rescue! One stray dog hair and they'll try to charge you $200 to clean. Now, after my boyfriend's experience through our new insurance company (he didn't learn from my mistake!), apparently there is some clause hidden in the fine print of the contract that you may not transport dogs in the vehicle. Give me a frickin' break!!! Don't live your life if you rent from this Enterprise. Oh, and our new insurance company, despite extending the rental a few days at a time (annoying!) to the full 30 days, forgot to send over the final extension to Enterprise and after one letter 5 weeks after the car was turned in, they claimed they were sending the balance to collections. I get that they can't extend a rental period if the insurance company hasn't authorized but they won't even pick up a phone to get in touch with their contact at the insurance company?! It's all automated through their computer system and they do very little to assist the client, forget going above & beyond! Customer service is NON-existent and they enjoy threatening you over the phone, refusing to let you speak to a supervisor or the person who signed the letter you received. Watching those happy (but utterly false) Enterprise commercials after two experiences here makes me want to vomit. They charged me twice for the same car rental return even though I brought the car back in good condition AND with a full tank of gas AND earlier than when I was supposed to return it. They then charged me AGAIN for the same rental which over-drafted my account and when I tried to resolve the issue they told me "it wasn't their problem, I should just talk to my bank". They picked me up on time and were very polite, they didn't oversell or force-feed any extra insurance coverage on me then what I asked for the car was clean and ran perfect with no issues. In the process of renting the car was flawless and only took about 10 minutes. Are you a four star is only because the exterior of the car was quite dirty I did expect a little more cleanliness, but in the same breath they did give me a free upgrade, but it's hard to be perfect if you have five stars, you have nothing to strive for so you get four just to keep you on your toes. read more

All the flights to Orlando was cancelled due the hurricane Mathew, then a rented a car and drove from New Jersey to Winter Garden FL, I had to bring back the car on Friday by 5:00 pm when I got there by 3:00 pm they were closed with a paper at the door saying do not leave the car here ( see picture ) then I called to NJ and they said he will write a note , when I went back next day , early in the morning , they want to charge me a extra day.
