Terrible place! First off no one answers the phone. Then they called me and said they were overbooked and I was in a queue for a rental car. Didn't hear anything for hours and needed my car or to cancel, but if you cancel they said they would charge me. So we drove to the pickup location which is inside the JW Marriott. This Hertz Rent a Car is located in the Marriott Orlando Airport, literally just off the airport property off 436 / Semoran. I don't hate rental car companies, but I can say that it's rarely a "enjoyable" experience. Typically long waits, huge upsell attempts and a ton of paperwork. Well, that's not the experience I had at this Hertz! For this particular situation, I had to get a State Farm Insurance approved rental after totaling my SUV. After I called SFI and they set up the rental I received an email saying call Hertz, you'll all set. Doing just as they requested, I called Hertz and the manager actually went over my options to maximize the amount of time I could get my rental for (basically try to use the most reasonable size car you can when you have no idea if / when you'll know about your own car). Paul was really cool and very speedy. Once I arrived Paul had literally pulled my car up to the front of the hotel and had all the paperwork ready to go. He submitted the claim to State Farm and took my credit card for deposit, walked out side to show the car / existing condition and he handed me the keys to say...Have nice day. I was dreading the process before I got there and was I ever pleasantly surprised to go through a relatively painless process. Note, since I picked up the rental and write this review I had to change to a larger vehicle for 2 days. It was NO PROBLEM and they even went so far as to transfer a car for me the same day to another location closer to me and staying open longer so I could get it. What. A. Disaster. I had to select this Hertz because all of the locations around me either didn't have cars or inexplicably became closed every time I tried to make a reservation. Upon arriving to pick up my car, I found the office unlocked with nobody in it. After waiting a bit to see if someone would return, I tried calling the location, thinking maybe they had a mobile phone - it went straight to voicemail. I then tried calling the Hertz at the hotel across the way - I tried two dozen times and got a few rings and then hung up on every time. I then tried asking the hotel manager if there was another number they use to get in touch with someone - turns out the number Hertz gave them was disconnected. Tried calling a couple other numbers, finally managed to get a hold of someone, then was put on hold for half an hour, and finally was disconnected. At this point the location was to have closed ten minutes earlier and nobody had come to lock up, which was my last hope. So. More than an hour after arriving for my reservation, and after two Uber rides to get there and back, I have no rental car, and can't even cancel my reservation online as their phone line says to, but at least I didn't pay in advance. Long story short, do not go here. Do not waste your time. I've never had a good experience with Hertz, but this was far and away the worst. Also, it is not listed on Yelp, but Hertz lists a second location at the next hotel over, the one I tried calling a couple dozen times. Fat lazy worker - bait and switch / pretended they didn't see our advance reservation - gave away our car (does any hertz not do this????) - tried to give us more expensive car - he tried to close at 5:15 when it's open until 6. Overall, we had the worst experience at this location. I arrived 10 minutes earlier than my reservation time at 2 pm. There was no one in the office. There was a number we called that was posted on the door as someone finally picked up. At this point we were already waiting for 15 minutes in the hotel. The representative proceeded to say he was getting gas, for a rental I presume. At this point we realized Hertz only has one person working at this location, and our poor experience was due to the company's decision in believing that doing nothing for the customer was the answer. The representative didn't show up until 30 minutes after our reservation with no apology or consideration for us waiting. On another note, we were charged unexpected additional surcharge fees which has never happened in the years that I've booked rentals. By the time we checked out, we were asked to meet the representative outside the hotel to pick up the car. By the time we left the lot, it was after 3 pm. The representative didn't help us. Sadly, after I returned to drop the rental off, I experienced the same situation. No one was there when I went to the office. I called the number and a new representative picked up and told me he was on his lunch break and confidently said there was nothing he could do and I would have to wait on him! How on earth does an established company like Hertz train their employees to tell customers that they can't assist them in a helpless situation? If I had a reservation at 2 pm, why would they schedule their only employee for a break at our return time? I told him that I couldn't wait as someone else should have been there to advise. He told me to wait in the front of the hotel and he would have someone come and get me. That never happened, no one ever showed up. I then received a text message saying he was on his way and told me to wait for him. This was the most unprofessional and inconsequential customer service I've received from a company. The representative we dealt with after arriving 30 minutes later was the first individual who listened to our situation. He called the manager in front of us who was unapologetic and unwilling to hear our experience. She then tried to say how we had a basic rental and then upgraded. She was wrong and we told the representative in front of her. We booked a luxury vehicle on the website, no upgrades. She was very brief and wasn't very sympathetic towards our situation. You could tell this company promotes their staff to positions without the experience required. At this point she told him to offer us a $20 voucher certificate to be redeemed only on a future rental. Why would we want to spend additional money with this company again? She said there was nothing else she could do and the representative ended the call. We left an hour later to attempt to dispute these issues, but ended up wasting our time. I've realized as a big company, they should have definitely handled this situation better. Their managers can definitely use a lot more training and enhance their communication skills. If I had flights booked to get to my destination or back home, I would've missed them both due to the negligence of the company failing to be present in the office regarding reservation times. On behalf of the company, they ended up making their faulty mistakes problems that the customer has to endure without compensation. First just let me say this has been the worst car renting experience of my life. I booked my reservation online for a full size car and with a rate of $190. Reservation was set to pick up my car at 12 PM at 139 S Orange Ave Downtown Orlando. My flight arrived around 10 AM and I received a text message from Hertz stating: Your rental car from Hertz Corporation at 139 South Orange Avenue is ready for you at 12:00 PM. Please show this confirmation code to secure your rate: H91814934F9. Enjoy your ride! I took an uber ($26) from the airport to this Hertz location and arrived at 11:57 PM and there were no lights on at this location. I called several times and the hours of operation showed the location closing at 12 PM. Please help me understand why would I receive a text stating my car is ready at 12 PM and the location closes at 12 PM? I called Hertz customer service and spoke with a rep that stated the only thing I could do was do another reservation at the airport location with a higher rate. My second issue with the text. Please help me understand why the text states provide the confirmation number to secure your rate, but this didn't apply for other locations? I spoke with a supervisor at this point and he made a reservation for me at 4040 Central Florida Parkway for a full size car with a higher rate than I originally made a reservation for. I took another uber ($18) from your downtown location to the JW Marriott.  Once at this location I spoke with Brandon who really tried his best to help me. Brandon informed me that he didn't have a full size car available and didn't know why the supervisor made the reservation. At this point I'm beyond frustrated with this company and the lack of customer service, lack of communication internally.  Brandon was finally able to find me a car with still a higher rate than I originally had. Upon driving to my hotel room the check engine light comes on and a message that stated low energy power and the acceleration slowly decreasing. I called Brandon back and informed him of the issue. He stated that he would look for another car, but nothing would be available same day. He informed me that he would create a swap order and I could come back next day to swap the car. Next day I arrive at the JW Marriott location and the office was completely empty during business hours.  I called the locations number and spoke with the manager of Brandon. The manager stated that there were no full size cars available and that he would call me once something becomes available. I explained the service light message to the manager and strongly informed him that my friend has the same model car and had the same issue, the dealership actually had to fix it. Today is day three and I have the same car, so if Hertz doesn't care about my safety why should I care when this piece of crap breaks down and ruin the rest of my vacation.
