    Antonio on his power trip acting like a child throwing a tantrum... I've never seen a full blown male version of a "Karen"... so sensitive.

    Assistant Manager Antonio experienced a very confusing power trip, claiming I was disrespectful to the person at the front desk. Fully unaware of whatever he thought happened.... He asked me to come outside, and threatened to not give me a because he didn't have to give me one if he didn't want to. Spoke to me like I had offended his wife or girlfriend. I said no problem. I said everything was cool and I was fully unaware the guy felt I was disrespectful. He continued to grill me and was very threatening the whole time, so I was way chill. Then... We went back inside, and a few minutes later he just says we're not going to rent to you. Jaw dropping... The most baffling behavior that I have ever seen renting a car. I didn't raise my voice, curse, or show any disrespect... I was only frustrated that I was told I have to wait 30 minutes for my car to be ready. Disappointing to watch a adult behave like a child, so petty. They'll also ask you for your hotel address that you are staying as well as you flight info in order to rent. This, I was told, is because they've had problems with vehicle theft. That's none of their business and a complete joke. Antonio is a first class coward of a clown.

    Antoio at 4635 n 7th street phoenix az 85014 Clearly does not take pride in providing good customer service. I travel alot for work and use Hertz and Enterprise alot and have had good and bad with both but on 3-13-23 this was one of the worst customer experiences I have ever had. My car was hit in a parking lot and was going in for repairs. I called the in to state farm after waiting months to get my car in the shop and 3 days before got told "okay we contacted the local enterprise and here is your reservation number for the 13th" They gave me my reservation number. I then proceeded to drop my car off at the body shop and go to Enterprise where my reservation was made. I was then surprised at the store when told "sorry all our cars are out due to spring training and its just a busy time" I replied with "really? So reservations dont mean you reserve the car....okay thats lame I have to uber home now ." While doing this I watch multiple cars getting checked out. I made the comment while frustrated "so they had reservations also?" She replied with " yes and they came in before you" (it was 8am and they open 7:30). "When do you have more in, today I hope?" "she responded with "yeah sorry but we should have more back around 1" "okay you guys have "we will pick you up" in all your commercials can you come get me then?" "yeah I will take your number and your address and we can pick you up between 3 and 4 okay?" I then gave her my information and went home and was working and on calls. 4 pm rolls around and I was not called or picked up, I then called and was on hold for 30 minutes and assumed I must have been in the wrong phone line so called back. I got in the car at this time and then when I got to the store it was 48 minute hold time and they were trying to close since it was 5:30. At the door was greeted by Antonio and "how are you doing today". I told him I was still on hold not doing well since I was supposed be picked up and was still on hold for 48 minutes at this time. "He replied with you can hang up now man" I showed him the phone and said "wanted to make sure you see that your hold time is nearly an hour man, why?" He had an empty lobby and stated "yeah we were just cleared it out and have been busy man". The shocking and frustrating part is there was 6 employees (this is not an exaggeration and 2 outside checking cars in) standing around the desk and again no one is there inside yet no one can answer the phone. There is clearly a "we are off soon and just going to no pick up the phone" vibe and terrible customer service. Antonio informs me "my agent stated you were rude and you are not going to be getting a car with us today" "what!?! Are you kidding me? " " no man you have a good day bye" " no way, I want a card and will be filling a complaint man" The others at standing and watching are giggling and smug at this point. He hands me a card after crossing out the manager's name to put his own". "Why did you not just tell me at the time you were not going to rent me a car vs having me wait and come back wasting my time?" He just stares at me with a smile and says again "goodbye". Overall this store is nearly comically bad customer service and extremely unprofessional staff and should not be in the service industry. If you need a rental I would suggest a different store at least due to very unfriendly or helpful staff at this location. Its not a company wide issue from my experience, just this store which is unfortunate. As you can see by MULTIPLE other yelp reviews this manager is difficult at best to deal with, avoid this store like the plague.

Most recently, I rented a car for a week and after taking the train to the rental car center, I was able to skip the desk and head straight to the Emerald Aisle to pick any available car. I would highly recommend setting up an account with National and taking advantage of this.... being able to skip a line at the counter is a blessing. In any event, we went to the aisle, picked out our car and were off after a brief stop at the gate to check everything. Return was also quick and painless. Josh did a thorough inspection of the car, which we returned with a full tank and in pristine shape, and we were on our way in no time. It's amazing how frictionless the experience can be, as opposed to how awful other companies (I'm looking at you Hertz) can make it. I highly recommend National.

The staff are friendly and professional. I've had them offer to give me a bit of a discount when something inconvenient happens, and I'm glad they have that authority. This last time the car I rented had a lot of fingerprints on the windows and the carpeting in the trunk of the car was stained. There was also a splotch of something in the cupholder (I didn't try to remove it so I don't know how stuck on it was). That said, it didn't affect performance of the car and overall I still enjoyed driving it. The pricing seems okay. I think there are cheaper rental companies, but some of what I pay for is convenience. I'll keep using them when I visit Phoenix for work.

We got to the counter after arriving and then taking the sky train to the rental center. The line was short at the time (it built up after we got there) and we were getting our car pretty quickly. I believe I reserved a compact SUV and we got a VW Taos and it drove well enough even though going up some hills it struggled a little bit, but it had good fuel economy. Overall, the car was in good shape, drove well, and the return back to Fox was smooth and the agents we interacted with were all friendly.

There was a long line at Fox when my flight landed, but the entire line was gone 20 minutes later. I was impressed with the speed. Until I went downstairs to the Fox Rent A Car booth in the garage where you pick up your rental vehicle and realized they didn't actually have cars ready for all those people. I found tons of customers just standing around, restless and annoyed. Basically, you just have to wait for them to call your name when your car is ready. Obviously they overbooked and couldn't accommodate all of the reservations that were made. Wow... I have no words for how ridiculous that is. This company accepting reservations while not having cars available then having people wait an hour for their rental cars is not okay. Once my name was finally called, after waiting in the hundred degree heat for about 45 minutes, the Fox employee gave me the keys to my rental car and told me the wrong make, model, and location of the vehicle in the garage. I mean, I eventually found it using the key fob, but I'm baffled at how terrible their service was altogether. The saving grace to my experience was the quick and easy return process, but that was too little too late. I feel confident in giving a one-star rating based on my recent experience.
