Title: Charged for a full month of protection I did not authorize I want to share my experience to warn others about a billing issue I encountered with Enterprise. Initially, my insurance company arranged a short-term rental (about 5-6 days) for me at this location. When I picked up the car, I purchased protection coverage and paid a little over $200. I clearly told the staff that I only needed protection for those few days, and asked them to inform me if there would be any additional charges later. After that, my insurance company extended the rental to about one month. I called the branch to confirm the extension and explicitly told the staff that I did NOT want to continue the protection coverage for the extended period. I was told that it would be taken care of. However, after returning the vehicle, I found that I was charged for approximately 30 days of protection, totaling over $900. I never authorized this, and there was no written confirmation. Additionally, I was told I would receive a follow-up call, but no one ever contacted me. I am currently working with my bank to dispute this charge. If I cannot recover the money, I may have no choice but to pay it. I am sharing this so others can learn from my experience: - Do not rely on verbal confirmations - Always request written proof for any changes - Carefully review your final receipt after returning the vehicle I hope this helps others avoid a similar situation. read more

I have great appreciation for the Enterprise located in Quincy at 500 Adams St. They have a great team that works there and everyone is so kind and generous both times I've been there. I've had a couple unfortunate incidents this year with (2) vehicles that forced me to need a rental vehicle. In my experience from other car rental places, I've always left with a sour taste, due to poor customer service. I work in sales and deal with the public myself, and take pride in doing what's right and making the client as comfortable as possible and taking care of their needs. Well that's exactly what the manger Nin did for me both times I was there! This location can get very busy with phones, walks-ins, etc...and you can tell she is a pro at handling it all (with a smile)! Not everyone can deal with the general public well...but Nin and her crew did a great job to all clientele and myself each time I've dealt with them. Keep up the great work! UPDATE 2: In addition to unanswered phone calls I have written to the CARE team 6/29, 7/7, 7/13, 7/18 and am writing again now. Every time they tell me they're engaging the regional management team at Quincy and they will contact me but I have yet to be contacted. I am beyond frustrated. UPDATE: Enterprise CARE contacted the local office 7/7 and 7/13 requesting that someone contact me and I have heard nothing. My issue is still unresolved. Michelle was very friendly and welcoming but the rest of the experience was very poor. My family and I rented a car to attend a funeral and were anxious to get into a car and on the road. The process took a long time and the following things went wrong: * We were charged $45 for an extra driver despite my Rewards Account including up to 9. I called to escalate four times and sat on hold for 20+ minutes (one call was 17 minutes before I gave up). I have reached out to Customer Service 3x now with no resolution. * The car was disgusting. It reeked of cigarettes and we had to drive for our entire trip with the windows down because the smell made us nauseous. There is even signage in the car that shows "no smoking". * The car had only 1/8th tank of gas. Michelle did offer for an agent to go and fill it but our luggage was already in the car and we had just arrived on a red eye and needed to get to the funeral home. * The inside of the car was filthy. There is signage explaining all of the cleaning measures but there were stains on the ceiling, cigarette ash, and it barely looked to be vacuumed. * It was not possible to connect with a person at the location. When we arrived there were 4+ employees who were not busy yet I was put on hold and my call never answered. My father in law's car was damaged in a parking lot and he had to use a rental car from this location. He had to return this car back on Wednesday and he forgot his wallet in the car. The next early morning,he realized that he left the wallet there and he went to this location to ask them. They said they have not found any wallet and they do check the car before they give it to the next costumer and everything they find,it will go under "lost and found items" After a lot of phone calls,they keep saying that they have not found anything and that they are not responsible for any personal belongings! He had to go to the hospital for a heart procedure with all the STRESS and without his MEDICAL INSSURANCE CARD Later that day, my brother in law ,went there and asked them for the manager and that if they don't give his father the wallet back,he will have to call the police to investigate because this is a personal item and except of the stress it was caused to his father, this situation made him feel disappointed and discriminated from a unrensponsible business like Enterprise! I booked a rental for a pickup roughly a MONTH in advance (AND requested a couple of days off from work), as I am moving from Quincy to Jamaica Plain in just 3 days; Just today, they call me up to tell me that they had to cancel my reservation, due to sudden lack of availability... total B/S! All they could say was "We're sorry for the inconvenience" and "I just got word of the situation now" (even bigger B/S) - Well, for your information, "sorry" isn't going to fix my situation, or win me back as a customer. When people make a reservation, they understand themselves to be guaranteed a vehicle for when they need it. Apparently, the folks at enterprise fail to understand this. I have the top amount of rental money I can use, I asked if I could have a bigger SUV for the kids, I was told because I'm paying my insurance and not out of pocket that I could not pick my car they save luxury for cash! For starters the sticker on the license plate is expired so that means the registration is bad the car is covered in dog hair burn holes, and stinks, I put towels on the Sears and they turned brown, this is a 2020 vehicle, it has a slow leak in one of the tires, and the car smells so bad, you can tell it has not had any maintenance! Representative Carter was dismissive and rude because I requested another vehicle due to the damage on the rental that was presented to me. After getting the unpleasant news about my ''accident'' I was being held responsible for damage to the vehicle that was found prior to me signing the agreement. I had a very unpleasant experience with them. I booked a truck online and when I Got to the location I saw a truck that was fully functional only for them to tell me that I couldn't rent the truck because they needed 48 hours notice to rent the truck out. They then proceeded to offer me an old van. By this time I was frustrated but I had to move some things so I just took it. When I brought it back they blamed an old scratch on me and billed my credit card over $500 . No real investigation into the scratch. I know for a fact that I had did not cause the scratch because if I did I would've got it fixed before returning the vehicle for way less than $500. Car was in the shop being repaired. Needed a rental car while being fixed. I did not have rental insurance so it went through the other drivers insurance. Could not have gone off more seamlessly. Worked with Shoniece. She was so helpful. I had to return the small suv a few days later due to problem with tire pressure. She immediately put me in a new car. The only issue I have with Enterprise is their expensive collision, personal injury and liability coverage charges. When I rented a car last week the cost of the car, taxes, etc. only was $46 for 2 days. My actual total after returning the car was $84 because I added insurance which I thought was only 17.99 total. Nope - it was $17.99 per day + $2.00 per day for personal accident insurance. Insurance costs were more than the rental car. Next time we will fly. read more

We rented a car Columbus Day weekend and they were booked solid and very busy, even with all they had going on the customer service was amazing! Jon Ladas took very good care of us. We rented a car here, It was a bit rattily for a 2020 but there was little inventory. We had the car about 2 hours and thought we might upgrade (it also smelled of cigarette smoke). Went to return, they really didn't have anything else that was any better. As soon as the attendant realized we were going to not rent from them he went behind the car and discovered a scratch. The scratch could not be seen, it had to be felt. We certainly didn't "see" it . The report was written to suggest we were returning it because we knew there was damage and were trying to quickly return it. There was no way this could have happened as the car was never near other car. We knew we were being scammed but had no recourse. I'm a enterprise plus customer. I've rented from enterprise numerous times. The last time I rented a vehicle, was from this branch. Thanks to the manger Nin Helai, I had the worse car rental experience of my life. There was a minor dent on the vehicle that possible happened from another vehicle opening the door and having contact with my door. I didn't notice because it was minor. I was told to pay for this dent and that it was chargeable , even though I denied it wasn't chargeable. Long story short, the manger went ahead and charged my card without my consent. Knowing my insurance was paying for this claim, instead of waiting she went ahead and charged my card. You want to rent from here make sure your rental is valet at all times, or be prepared to be scammed. read more

I rented a car for about a week from Hannah. She was fabulous in showing me two available cars to choose from. Upon returning it, I lost my phone. Fear spread in. She offered to call the body shop where I had just picked up my fixed vehicle, she crawled all over the ground looking for my phone, and kept me calm during the entire experience. Very bad customer service, and severe lack of knowledge from employees. My car recently got totalled by a drunk driver while it was parked outside my house leading me to turn to enterprise to rent a car until I got back on the road. I have never had a problem before but this particular branch is so unorganized and very bad at communication amongst one another that it leaves me with a serious lack of trust in the whole brand. The insurance covered the rental until January and we paid for February after being promised by one of employees that enterprise will match the rates of other companies. However when I went in to pay it the employee said he remembered but he didn't make any promises and held no responsibility for what he said. After going back and forth because I needed the car they agreed only to threaten me twice afterwards because I extended the contract. "If you don't leave it back now I will get it back another way" leaving me to be stranded as I am not near any public transport, especially after having paid for the majority of the contract to be extended. There is a small balance left which I will pay I cash but it needed to be paid right then and there, to threaten a customer that has given you close to $2000 for a rental and it's continuing to pay for this rental while using it is severely unprofessional and I have never came across this with any other company. The branch manager Zachary was pleasant whenever he was taking the money from me, but the minute he contract was extended and the money wasn't paid straight away he turned nasty. Look for other companies, try Hertz or go to a difference branch as it's ludicrous the way this branch treats customers. read more

The employees were rude at best and after the car was returned they continued to charge my credit card after they were advised by the insurance that these charges were the responsibility of the man who hit me and that they had issued payment to them. i used the agency on Beale street, upon renting the car i was told $100.00 would be placed on hold, but they actually took it. when i called to get it returned they said it was done but actually they took another $100.00. now the wait is on for the return of 200.00. i happen to live off disability and this error could cause problems for me.This was done by the manager too. This Enterprise rental site is the worse I have ever used. I was given a card at the collision shop as a referral, I called and was given the regular daily rate. When I asked for the discounted rate and was given, the conversation changed and there were no cars available suddenly . I was told to leave my phone number and they would give me a call, hours passed and I did not receive a call or notification. I called back and got the same response, no cars were returned and he could not update me on any expected returns for the rest of the day, which made no sense as I would assume when you rent a car there is a return date in the reservation. But after waiting at the shop for awhile , had to uber and never got a call back from Enterprise. Have used many times at other locations but I will never use the Quincy location again, this is as unprofessional as customer service gets! Take your business elsewhere! read more

I rented a car from Enterprise in November/December as I was involved in a car accident the week before Thanksgiving. I was referred to Enterprise through my Liberty Mutual Insurance agent, and I was very pleased with their service! They came to my house and picked me up, helped me choose a car within my price range, checked everything out with me, they arranged for someone to pick the rental up right from the auto body for when I was picking up my car, and just were so nice and helpful every step of the way. I am a young girl so I am generally wary of anything car related in case people try to take advantage of me, but they didn't quite the opposite! I felt very comfortable dealing with them. Someone called me the day after to make sure my experience with them went well, just a lot of small business niceness that you wouldn't normally assume with a big name like Enterprise!
