Made 2 reservations for today and one in the morning got canceled luckily I didn't leave the house but the 2nd reservation i made for 2pm I leave the house to go pick up the car and on the way there I get a call from them saying there are no cars available. I rented a car from them in 2013. I was in an accident and paid the deductible, my insurance company paid the rest. Then I was in another accident last week, and the other drivers insurance said they would pay for a rental. So I called and reserved a car. (Thursday of last week). Then Monday Enterprise pics me up at the autobody shop , takes me to their location to get me a car. Once there they tell me I am on the Do Not Rent list. So they claim I owe 300.00 and can't rent from them, so now I'm stuck at their location and have to take an Uber to work. Well, I call HQ and they look and, low and behold, I did pay off the 300.00 in 2013. Why can't Enterprise have two people in the same company figure out that I paid my bill 8 years ago? I know big companies don't care about people but when you pay your bill they should still do business with you, and why are they telling me I have a reservation when they are refusing to rent to me? IF they had told me upfront I could have made other arrangements, Or they could let the right hand know what the left hand is doing and not mess with me in the first place. I also garuntee it will be an absolute nightmare getting this phantom charge removed from my credit history. Still have not gotten proof of payment to get this taken off. Companies have to much power and this is the kind of nightmare they cause just crapping on anyone stupid enough to exist and not be really rich and have lawyers to sue these people into oblivion. Had a good experience here. Did a one day online rental for work. I called a few times for a shuttle with no luck. When I went it, there were just 2 staff members and maybe 4 customers. Once they handled those in front of me, I got my reservation without much hassle. Drop off was also non exciting. The same 2 staff were working, and I was able to turn in rather quickly after they dealt with other customers. The guy with the handlebar mustache was a pleasure to work with! Great customer service aside from being short staffed. I could tell his coworker, who was young looking was definitely overwhelmed. read more

This was by far the worst rental experience I have ever had. I really don't want to bore you with the details, so we'll get right to the main points of frustration. 1. I made a reservation to pick my car up at noon. It was not ready until 5:15. 2. I was told to sign the "circles" on the rental agreement. I had explained inside I was not purchasing insurance. Yet once I read the "circles" I had signed to purchase the insurance. 3. When I crossed out my signature, and declined insurance, I was told I could not rent the vehicle without it. After about 20 minutes of arguing, I was on my way. The rental agent threatened that if I was in an accident, I would have no coverage - and my personal insurance would not cover it either, nor my business auto coverage. I work for an insurance company and told him otherwise, to which he continued to threaten me with the risk of an accident. 4. When I went to return the car, there were several military personnel tempting to rent cars. They had the same insurance issue. Great job to the Air Force for teaching those guys such patience. Long story short - why are you pushing the insurance so hard? Please, next time lets just get everyone out the door, on time. If you didn't push so hard, there wouldn't be a 45 minute line! read more

In need of a rental immediately, I made a reservation on Hotwire. Though Enterprise wasn't the cheapest option, their marketing successfully makes them look like the most professional and reliable option, and today, that's what I need. I walk in, and no one is at the counter to greet me, everyone was at the desks away from the counter. Whatever, no big deal. A young lady waits on me, I give her my last name and it seems like this is going to be a smooth transaction. She doesn't try to push insurance that I don't need on me, doesn't even offer it. They seemed to be out of full size, so they were going to give us an SUV instead for the same price. She goes ahead tells me my total and swipes my card. I interrupt her to tell her I need to add a driver. This is where things go downhill. She asks for my drivers license again, as well as my boyfriend's. She tells him she needs two of three things since he is using a debit card (insurance verification, utility bill, or check stub). As we are trying to pull up 2 of the 3 online, I hear her ask her coworker about something that popped up, and then the manager says we can't rent under her name it'll have to be his. They don't explain anything to me, they just start switching things to his name. Then the young lady makes another discovery and asks if there's something wrong with the system, because whatever is popping up is linking my drivers license number, address, and my boyfriend's phone number. The co-worker then says, rather loudly, "Last time I had that pop up I had to call accounting and the person owed a bill from like 5 years ago." So finally I ask what's going on and she tells me that I'm coming up on a "do not rent" list, and it's probably an old balance that I owe. I tell her I've never rented from Enterprise (mainly because they're NEVER the cheapest option). I was VERY offended, as I ALWAYS pay my bills on time, so in the event that I had rented from Enterprise, the bill would have been paid, or surely they would have used my credit card on file to cover whatever balance existed. My boyfriend has never rented a car from anywhere, let alone Enterprise. The co-worker and young lady assume something weird is going on since it's being linked to separate parts of information for the two of us, and we're not married or have the same address. She calls the manager over to show him, and he just says "Unfortunately we won't be able to rent to you guys today. I'd have to call accounting and they're closed." And left it at that. Didn't try to find another solution, did not try to troubleshoot, didn't even ask if it was possible I DID owe a balance. So with that we left, I made a reservation online with Avis, and was in and out in 5 minutes, jumped through no hoops, and got a better car, and my business for future rentals. Your loss Enterprise. The manager seemed like he really didn't want to bothered with issues because it was a Friday. I heard him tell the same young lady to "just give him the number on your business card because I don't know the number", when she asked for the number to a certain department for a customer on the phone. He asked a customer if they could get another card because his had declined, and yes, he yelled this from his desk to the counter. Very unprofessional, unfortunately his nice dress clothes weren't enough to mask that. So if you're willing to try your luck at being embarrassed and without a car because Enterprise randomly decides to put you on a "do not rent" list, I'd recommend going here. read more

I rented a vehicle from this Enterprise Location on 01/15/2016. I was very thrilled and pleased with the customer service I experienced from The Branch Manager Chris Harold. He was VERY professional, kind, and most helpful. Chris went above and beyond his way to show that he cared. He also allowed me to pick out the color car I wanted instead of just assigning me one! I would definitely suggest renting a car from this Enterprise location. Chris rocks and is a great asset the this particular Enterprise location. Rented a car for 5 days through this Enterprise branch and had a very pleasant experience. Since it's the summertime, they were running a little low on the car I requested and offered to drop off a suitable car at my work later that day. The first car they gave me was experiencing some strange issue with a layer of dirty film developing on the windshield when it was raining and there was nothing I could do wipe it off (I had perfect vision when it was not raining but could barely see during an intense storm). Evan, the branch manager, was very friendly, professional, and helpful and had someone drop off a different rental car at my work the next day. The other Enterprise employees were very professional and friendly which made it all a nice experience. I'd definitely recommend this branch for those looking to rent a car in the Richmond area. read more

My husband rented a van from Enterprise in Pittsburgh so we could come to Richmond from PA to clean out his storage unit and attend a wedding in RVA. He also rented a regular car so we could get around town and not be in a cargo van. When we arrive to this enterprise, they inform us that you "can't rent 2 vehicles at the same time" WTF? Why not? What if I was renting cars for my 2 kids or something? What difference does it make who pays for it or who's name it is in if someone else is driving it? So we have to start all over and put it in my name with my credit card. I then proceed to get grilled but the guy who constantly says he is "just doing my job". He wanted me to provide 2 phone numbers...why? I only have 1, if I give you my friends number in PA what good does that do? Could've given them my deceased Mother's number, which looking back I should have... Then they asked my employer. If I have a credit card and a valid DL what does that matter either? I don't think that's a requirement for renting a car (just doing my job). Then, to top it all off, the giant car they gave me (when we reserved a compact) had NO GAS IN IT. So they guy I got passed off to to show me the car, (because I'm sure the other guy was bitching about me to the rest of the office after I went out to the car) happily informs me that since there is no gas in it I get to bring it back without any gas in it!!! YAY!!.....but, that means I have to go put gas in it right away, right? Then he's trying to sell me insurance while I am standing in the parking lot, which, had I wanted it, i would have had to go BACK inside and do all that. What an inconvenience, plus a cluster $%^&. I put 5 gallons in it and I plan to run it dry before I turn it in if I have to let it idle all night the night before. What a bunch of idiots there. They picked me up from the train station within minutes of calling and made good conversation on the way to the store. My car was a very clean, brand new, well appointed 2017 model. I have been a customer of Enterprise since the 1980s and am very unhappy with their customer service. Enterprise needs to rethink their policy on debit cards. I had a reservation today and in a hurry to get my car to the shop left my credit card at home. In order to use my debit card I was told by staff that I would have to provide 2 documents containing my name and address in addition to a drivers license Accepted documents were a pay stub, cell phone bill, bank statement, and utility bills as if people happen to carry these with them. I was scrambling to pull something off my cell phone. I had my bank statement open on my phone but wasn't finding the required address listed A man I assumed to be a manager, reached for my phone and asked if he could look. I was not willing to give him my phone as the screen it was on had ALL the info on the several accounts I have with that bank. He became annoyed when I told him that. I explained to staff that I thought the debit policy was inconvenient and didn't show respect for repeat customers like myself. The staff didn't get it. One person explained that that is the policy even for people who come in every week and another said the policy is so people don't use a debit card and turn around and pull all the money out of the account right away. They didn't even understand that both of those prove my point that Enterprise doesn't value their customers. I have been a customer for 30 years and they should be able to rely on the history and ongoing relationship when situations like mine arises and not treat everybody like the are suspected con artists. I guess I need to find another rental car company but feel stuck because they are the only one I know will pick you up read more
