***PLEASE RESERVE VEHICLES FROM THIS LOCATION IF YOU LIKE COMPANIES THAT DEFINE "CONFIRMED RESERVATION" AS "WE WILL POSSIBLY MAYBE HAVE YOUR VEHICLE AND WE WON'T CARE IF NOT"*** I had a 15 passenger van "reserved" at this Kingshighway location months in advance for a group trip (which involved non-refundable deposits, inflexible plans, etc., you know the deal. The "reservation" was "confirmed." It was again "confirmed" a few days before. I go at the stated time to pick up, and, lo and behold, they did not have the vehicle. The woman at the counter was not sure how long it would be until my vehicle was there, which is, of course, a detail I needed, given that I was dropped off at the location, thinking my double-confirmed vehicle would be there (crazy, right?). She says I could wait there, and my vehicle may be there in a couple of hours. When I kept pressing, she said it would be there by 4. At that point the manager, Mario, who I'm convinced was hiding in the back hoping I'd leave, came out and said something in passing about the vehicle having an issue (wheels?) and it was not available, and he was doing everything to find one. Why did Mario let me go all the way to the location at the appointed time when he knew my vehicle was not there? According to Mario, it got really busy and he was not able to give me a (1-2 minute) call. Reader, there was no line at noon when I walked in - I walked right up to the counter. He said he couldn't promise me my reserved vehicle, but that he promises he would try. After getting a ride back home, I called every couple of hours, though Mario was never available. An associate, Max, said that they were working on it. When I asked if they were exploring other solutions - like calling other companies - he said that they didn't do that. I still had received no calls - checking in with updates or anything - from Enterprise. A couple calls later, I ask to speak to Mario, who is on a lunch break, or in a meeting (depending on which employee answered), and spoke to the other manager (?) who at least was up front with me when I asked what was wrong with the vehicle (it had a recall, which was apparently a complete surprise to Enterprise) and if they could look into other possible solutions, like getting me two minivans (no, none of those either lol) and what chances I actually had at getting the vehicle (basically zero, but they're trying!). He said he would call to check in at 6:30, 30 minutes to close. Reader, if at this point you think I got a call at 6:30, I would like you to stop reading so you don't lose your starry-eyed childlike naïveté. I did not get a call at 6:30, just like I did not get a call before going to the location without my vehicle, or anytime in between, or to check in and make things right (and prevent a review like this) anytime after. Enterprise did not have their confirmed reservation for me, and never reached out to me before, during, or since, in any way shape or form. While stating they were doing everything they could, I never actually saw any proof of anything but the opposite, and when I suggested other solutions they could add to "anything they could," the answer was "we don't do that." After frantically reaching out to every friend and company in STL, I finally found a solution, but no thanks to Enterprise. The only silver lining here is that I found other companies that will actually care and come up with solutions. TLDR; your confirmed reservation is seen by them as a "maybe possibly," and if it's not there, they will never reach out to you or care to come up with a solution. Do not rent from this location - if in St Louis, rent large vehicles from City Rentatruck or other local companies, or others like Hertz. If you have to use Enterprise, for the love of all things holy, look at reviews and rent from any other location. read more

An unfortunately dreadful Enterprise experience while in town for a 4 day weekend. I arrived about 10 minutes before my reservation for my car rental to see a gaggle of customers gathered around the counter. The staff had no system for how to check in customers and had a crude piece of paper which served as a "waiting list" of sorts without ever instructing customers where or how to be added to the cue. There were also about 5-6 guys behind the counter in the back joking around and being loud, doing nothing to assist. One of the staff eventually had to reprimand them and sent them to the back. After about 30 minutes, I was finally helped and the check in process seemed quick. I was excited to be on my way as I had an appointment to make. Unfortunately, I would miss that appointment as I ended up waiting over an hour and a half to get my car (with no information as to why I'd be waiting or how long I would be there). I followed up 45 minutes into my wait and informed the staff that I was in a bit of a rush and needed to know how long it would take. I was told the cars would arrive from another location as they were overbooked and that I'd be on my way in 15 minutes max. Nearly an hour later, I was presented with my car (a vehicle that hadn't been properly cleaned and was simply "rinsed" off). I understand it gets busy around holiday weekends, but the mismanagement of the situation is where I take issue. When busy, they should have a structured process for signing folks in and if they are overbooked and expect a wait, they should be honest with their customers upon checkin and present alternative options (i.e. getting over to another nearby location). I was checked in and told I'd have my car shortly just to wait an hour and a half and miss my appointment. To top it off, after dropping my car off, I was charged for an extra day because they were closed the day I dropped it off and never checked to confirm when it was actually turned in. I had to call 3 times to get this resolved after being assured it was being taken care of and it wasn't until I got the manager on the phone that it was finally solved. Do NOT book at this location!! We had a reservation to pick up our rental vehicle at 12pm and arrived on time. The employee nonchalantly asked if we are flexible with timing and tells us that they don't have any cars available right now. When questioned about what they were going to do to make this right and get us a car (that we had reserved 2 weeks in advance) the response was a shrug, that we can wait and see if someone returns a car in the next few hours. He had no solutions, no sense of urgency, and put the burden of calling other locations to acquire a vehicle on us. When told we don't have time to be doing their job of locating a new car, he got the manager. The "manager" Jim was shockingly unprofessional, unapologetic, did not diffuse the situation, and did not provide reassurance that they were working to resolve the issue. It is very clear that this manager, and his staff, need some in-depth training in customer service. He just repeated that the only thing he can do is wait for another car to come in. We reiterated that we have plans, and if we have no car we will need to Uber to our destination. When asked if they could reimburse the Uber to our destination, the response was no, and not much else he can do. He recommended calling a different rental car company!! To say I am shocked at the lack of customer service from both staff member and the "manager" is an understatement. We booked a reservation, paid an Uber to get us to Enterprise on time, and they did not have a single car available. Things happen, but not only were we not informed in advance that there were no cars available, but the employees refused to take accountability and make it right. Between the the 1-800 Enterprise customer service line, and a nearby location that put in so much more effort to help us, we were able to secure a vehicle, without assistance nor follow up from the "manager" at Enterprise Kingshighway. As a long time customer, I expect so much more from Enterprise, especially one located in the same city as the corporate headquarters. Once again. I returned their car that I rented from them the same way I got it from them. I was trying to figure out what was taking so long for them to give me my receipt so I can go. Do you know this mfkr came out and asked me did I put tint on their windows. Im like why the fuck would I put tint on your windows???? That is what was taking so long!! Come to find out, people rent the cars, get tint put on the windows and then go do crimes or whatever they do in them and then return the car. I was referred to this location after a car accident. When they brought me the car, it was freshly washed on the outside. It wasn't until I drove off the lot that I noticed the vehicle had a strong cigarette smell and cigarette burns on the car seats. This includes dark brown stains on the grey seats. The final straw was when the Check Engine light came on after 1 day of driving the vehicle. Why was this vehicle even in their inventory? When I called back to inform this branch of my displeasure, I received poor customer service. He tried to convince me to come back to their location for another car. Why would I trust this location with another vehicle when the first one came in such poor condition? The accident left me in a great deal of pain so I Informed him that this type of customer service wasn't helpful. I politely informed him that I would be disconnecting the phone call. The employee called me back (which I did not request) with an aggressive and condescending tone. I teach 3rd graders and It was clear that the employee was disregulated from our previous interaction. He didn't call me back to help me with my car problem. He called me back to "put me in my place". His behavior was wildly disrespectful. The phone call ended with him slamming the phone down to hang up on me. This was easily the worst customer service that I have ever experienced. I am saddened to write this review because I used to work for Enterprise. Its clear that customer service had gone down dramatically. Made an online reservation for a 9 am pick up. Was heading to a music festival for the weekend in Birmingham. Get a phone call around 8:30 am day of. The guy tells me they are short of cars because returns aren't coming in as they'd expected. No big deal as I'm not in any rush. We decide to push the pick up to 12:30. I arrive at 12:30 pm. An employee takes my info and payment. Then informs me that there is still a shortage. It'll be about an hour til the car is ready. They'll call me. I come back in 90 minutes after no call. A different employee tells me there are still no cars and multiple others are ahead of me in the queue, including someone who has been waiting for a car since 8:45 am. It's now after 2 pm. I go home and wait for the call. This branch closes at 5:30 pm so at 4:45 I call them and am on hold for over half an hour. At this point I need to decide whether or not to cancel the trip. My hotel reservation is pending and it's still a 7 hour drive. I cancel my hotel, with a gnarly $120 charge. Then almost immediately get a call at 5:20 pm that they have a car for me. 8 hours after my scheduled reservation. I understand that weird stuff happens and sometimes these things can't be controlled. My main gripe is Enterprise took absolutely zero responsibility for the situation. They offered nothing to help. Not a call to another branch (which I did on my own time). Not a discount for a future rental. Not even an apology. Nothing. This was literally like that Seinfeld episode, "I don't understand. Do you have my reservation?" "We have your reservation, we just ran out of cars." "But the reservation keeps the car here. That's why you have the reservation." "I know why we have reservations." "I don't think you do. You see, you know how to *take* the reservation, you just don't know how to *hold* the reservation. And that's really the most important part of the reservation: the holding. The worse Enterprise location I have ever experienced. Open the door and you step into chaos! There is no formal line or number system, so it is like a free for all on who is next. After 4 rentals here over the past months I am onto another rental car company. Every car I rented basically had the carpet vacuumed and that was about it. Oh, and I can't forget the hang tags saying the interior has been sanitized!! Right!!! LOL The windows are always dirty and hazy making it difficult to drive in sunny conditions. The wait time to drop off my car took about 20 minutes today! Totally ridiculous as no one person seems to be in charge of any one task. And they seldom have the car you reserved on line. They tell you to wait and they will have a car coming in a few minutes, which one visit took almost 30 minutes. Onward to a different rental company! read more

During the return process Carlos B was quick, thorough, polite and very helpful since I returned it a day earlier than the original reservation. Went online to make a reservation and ordered a Mirage went into the build, spoke with the young lady. She told me that the car would be here if we paid for it, they would bring the car there, so my partner and I paid for the car sat in the parking lot for 45 minutes. Meanwhile someone drove up in a charger with a hemi and all that big engine stuff and we said they're looking at the car for 30 minutes and lo and behold. That was the car that she gave us completely not what we asked for one is something a little more economical saves on gas, but I didn't complain. I took the car. The young lady spoke to us and she asked us about. Do we want this do we want that and there was a 29 $99 accident fee or whatever the situation was she failed to say that it was 2999 a day so I wake up to an additional $400 being taken off of my debit card so when I go down there mind you we're $800 being held nowto talk to them they argue me down oh did you sign the paper? Did you sign the paper but their employee never explained that it was $29.99 a day so after all of this we ended up having $1300 being held up for rental cars because we decided to go to budget instead of enterprise because they play too many games give people what they ask for that's all you have to do and if you don't have it just say that it's not all about the money sometimes you gotta work on your customer service. I was very impressed by this Enterprise location, especially after reading the off reviews. After my horrible experience using the Metrolink, I decided that I HAD to get a rental car in order to survive the rest of my trip in St. Louis. Since I needed a rental car THAT day and was miles away from the airport, I called around several Enterprise and Budget locations. All the locations I have called were booked, EXCEPT for this location. This Enterprise was able to hook me up with a car within 2 hours of the time slot that I needed, AND for a much cheaper price ($35/day), compared to $45-$50/day online and at other locations. MIKE was the person with whom I talked to, and he provided great customer service. Yes, they were understaffed, but he was able to accompany me through each step of the car rental process as if I were the only customer there. Note that even though he was the ONLY ONE THERE attending to 6 customers...I was out with my car within 30 minutes. Ask for him if you're ever at this location. They BARELY inspect or even clean their cars between renters! DO A THOROUGH INSPECTION BEFORE LEAVING THE LOT AND NOTE THE DAMAGE! I've rented twice from them. Their cars are the bottom of the barrel. The last one we rented, I had to point out to the agent that the entire drivers side had apparently been keyed and had a huge dent in it but I was fine with it just because it was the only American car they had available and that's what I'm used to driving. The time before that, the interior was filled with trash and smelled like an ashtray. Moral of the story... GO TO THE ONE ON BRENTWOOD next time you rent. read more

To address a previous complaint, I've never found them to be really slow and it has never taken me an hour to check in or out. Enterprise is famous for great employees and terrible information systems. They take a reservation but they have no cars. After I do get a car, I go online to modify my reservation, the system does not recognize me. I call; the hold recording tells me to find my reservation using my email. I get off hold go back on-line ... there actually is no option to find my reservation using my email. I wait on hold ... the humans cannot find my reservation. I have to call another number. I am on the phone for an hour either on hold or talking to three different people. Finally ... I don't change the reservation but just drop off the car. Love the people I met though. read more

First off, I have to say the customer service here is awesome! It gets busy for the small place, but I noticed the employees not only kept smiles on their faces, they were friendly and engaged in lite conversation while assisting customers. I felt they were pretty fast and made it super easy to rent a car. The prices are very reasonable. They don't have a huge selection of cars, but for me I just wanted one that had great gas mileage and that's exactly what I got! Be careful, you guys. I needed to rent a car last minute and I was really impressed with how easy Enterprise's website makes reserving a car. I picked up the vehicle after the area had gone through some winter weather. When I did a check of the exterior, I thought nothing of the ice, snow and slush on the vehicle and went happily on my way. Today when I returned the car, the gentleman who checked it in went immediately an area near the tire on the back passenger side and then summoned me outside to "review damages." When I got outside, the gentleman dusted off that section of the vehicle and pointed out a small scrape. He then proceeded to file a claim with my insurance. It seems very strange to me that he had to dust off the car to reveal the scrape... Almost like he knew it was there... I should have been more thorough on the initial check of the car before I rented it and I definitely should have taken photos of the car before I left the lot. Learn from my mistakes, everyone. And probably don't rent from Enterprise because they are shady. read more

Service was fine renting the car, my issue is simple, by my own mistake I left my large golf umbrella in the back seat of the car I rented, I called the office at 10 AM Monday morning, and there was no clue where my umbrella was, they told me they would attempt to contact the person that had rented the car Monday morning already and to date I have still not heard anything from the office, now as I said my fault for leaving the umbrella but would have thought someone would at least check the car before repenting it. read more

Recently, I rented a vehicle from the Kingshighway Blvd. outlet for a one-week business trip from St. Louis, MO to New York City, NY. While passing through Pennsylvania, the windshield of my rented Ford Focus developed a crack. The next morning, I contacted Enterprise Road Assistance and they made arrangements for me to exchange my vehicle in Allentown, PA. The staff there were very helpful, prompt, and I was given an upgrade. During the last day of the trip in NYC, I got a flat. Once again, I contacted Enterprise Road Assistance and they made arrangements for me to exchange my vehicle in NYC. Again, I was given an upgrade (Dodge Challenger) -- very nice by the way. Upon my return to the St. Louis Kingshighway Blvd. outlet, I was given a discount for future rentals for my inconvenience. None of the mishaps that occurred were Enterprise's fault, but they were quick to rectify. I appreciated their quick and courteous response as I had many appointments to keep. I will use them again on future trips. read more

I've rented frequently through work from this Enterprise location. This week was the first time I used the pick-up service. I was hesitant to (in my mind) add more time to my trip, but the driver was right on time. I had to wait a few minutes at Enterprise but they had me out the door in a reasonable time.
