Since my paperwork was pre-filled, they walked me through it to sign and initial here, here (here and here, you know the drill.) In their spacious, well-lit garage they pulled out my Nissan Versa and boom shakalaka, I was on my way in about 3 minutes. Pick up, drop off, I've rarely had such a breezy and pleasant rental car experience- and I've rented many, many cars on scores of business trips. It'd been a long time since I rented through Enterprise and their newly streamlined process changed my whole view of their company. We took a Lyft from our hotel and were running 30 minutes late to our reservation! But luckily we were greeted by Danny who provided us excellent customer service, despite our tardiness. Got to say I was not renting the car but I was along for the ride. The process here was slick, fast, and professional! The staff was so nice, even shook my hand like we were making the business deal of a lifetime or we were in some heist movie and he was going to be on my team! And I was not the one renting the car. Quick! Easy! Clean! No really. I wish I'd grabbed the name of the woman who helped me, because she was super friendly and great. I was in a minor accident the other morning, and while my car hastily went to the body shop, I scrambled to find a rental car. 1) I didn't have a reservation, but was immediately accommodated, 2) it literally could not have been any simpler, I think I was ten minutes walk-in to drive-out, 3) the whole encounter was touchless, keys waiting for me in the *immaculate* car (next to an individually-wrapped lysol wipe)! Excellent covid-time reassurance. Prices were very fair, and the clerk even knew the name of my body shop when I couldn't remember it. Returning the car was--get this--easier! Had an insurance rental. Left my Handicap placard in the car. Called within an hour of dropping off the car. Was told that because of Covad they super clean all the cars AND even wipe the sun visors (where the placard was) yet they could not find the placard... Got here an hour earlier for a holiday-weekend car rental with a good price here through carrental.com. Got a red Toyota Corolla that seemed nice, and after Brian mentioned they had to "check" the vehicle then it'd be ready for me, I was hoping that would break the chain of bad experiences of many past filthy Enterprise rentals. NOT! Five mins later I got the car and as I was moving my bags and gear to the car, I could see they didn't even look at nor clean the vehicle at all. The exterior had many dirt marks that disappeared during the car inspection with Brian when I rubbed the dirt with my finger. Plus the inside was stained with coffee spills and dried coffee spills everywhere on driver's side door, console, and the cup holders. In addition the back passenger-side rear mat and inside door step was dirty with ground-in dirt. Grrrrrrrr Another filthy car - Enterprise will never learn. Sigh. Will post pixs after I return home Tuesday. Loved the USB/AUX slot, used it to USB-connect my cell to charge, plus via vehicle bluetooth was able to listen to music on my tablet on the car radio! UPDATE: Returned rental today Tuesday, 19 Feb and took office manager Shaun Apodaca aside to describe the filthy coffee-stained car interior. He apologized and wanted to make it up to me. Fast and easy pickup process with a convenient location just a few blocks from the hotel. The car was clean and in great working order. Took it for a spin down the coast and back. Sadly managed to scratch up the passenger door somehow, but no sweat as I bought the extra insurance for like $20 through the third party website I set up the initial reservation with. Phew! Bonus on being A-OK with dropping the car at a different Enterprise location (SFO) for no extra charge. Definitely an all-around good experience renting a car. read more

Very easy rental experience here! Needed a car for a hiking trip and got an economy for $35/day plus $30/day for the full coverage insurance. Since it was a holiday weekend, they let me pick up the car a day early to avoid the crowds so we actually had the car for two days. Fast and professional service though the Asian guy with the slicked back hair could smile a teensy bit. I felt like I was dealing with a robot-an unhappy robot. Very clean office. Only annoyance is that you have to provide two recent utility bills, a birth certificate, a blood draw, and the lock of your first born's hair to hold the $200 deposit with a debit card... J/k, only the utility bills but COME ON! Who carries around utility bills with them? I don't even have paper utility bills--have they never heard of ebills or auto pay? You can still use a credit card to pay when you return but I'm not crazy about them having my credit card on file to begin with. Convenient location in the TL and centrally located. I rented a cargo van online to help me move into my new apartment. There was a slight snafu with the booking, as cargo vans are normally only rented out from one specific branch, but after talking with an agent, they agreed to deliver the van to this location at is the closest one to my school. The pick-up went smoothly, the van was more spacious than I expected, and the drop-off went smoothly as well. I spoke to maybe four different agents during this experience and all of them were professional and courteous. I've rented regular cars from them before and found them to be nicer than another car company in Union Square (I'm lookin' at you, crappy, unprofessional AVIS). The rates are reasonable (sometimes a STEAL, if we're being honest) and I love how they'll pick me up if I'm too lazy to walk. I only docked them a star because there was a very long line when I returned my van on a Saturday afternoon. I imagine this would be frustrating for all of those people waiting for a car to pick up. read more

This is my go-to Enterprise location due to geography and price. I'm actually closer to Fisherman's Wharf but that one is typically far more expensive. Staff here is friendly, professional and helpful. Only negative is that sometimes they're slammed at the beginning and end of the day; solution is to time your rental to pick up after 10 am or before 4 pm. Pro tip: before you get your car or after you turn it in, stroll 1/2 block down to Larkin and get a bahn mi at Saigon Sandwich. The best in town. read more

Came here for a rental because other than the airport, this was the only place that was opened on Sunday. They said they would pick me up when I made the appointment, but when the time came it was only 15 blocks maximum from their location. They took forever in helping people get their car, which was a good thing since I arrived late because I had to take public transportation to their location. So I got myself a compact car for my Long Beach, Escondido, CA trip and it was dirty. It had stains everywhere. The car had MP3 plugs, dual chargers, but cruise controls didn't seem to work and cabin noise was loud. Ended up spending $230 for a week rental, insurance, and a quarter tank of gas. Despite signs all over property of allowable after-hour returns, was told they weren't allowed but 233 Ellis St location is open until 9p on weekend. Turns out this location closes at 1p like this one, but allows after-hour drop-off for an additional $25 fee. 3. Deceitful advertising. After dropping off car at 8am, was told can't get ride to Union Sq until 9am when driver comes. Clear lack of concern for safety of customers. read more

The first thing that I noticed when I arrived at the Turk street Enterprise, was that the employees were very friendly. If everything went as I hoped, I would've given them a 5 star right now. Minus 1 star for lying to me and minus another star for not correcting the problem. Adriea was really nice and she explained everything about the car. Then she asked me if I wanted to prepurchase the gas for $3.25 a gallon ($.34 cheaper than outside). I knew that I wasn't going to drive very much, so I asked her what happens if I don't use up all the gas. She told me that they'll refund me the remaining amount of gas that's left when I return it. So, I said ok to the prepurchase gas. When I returned the car, I noticed that I didn't get any of my unused gas refunded. I used a little over half of the tank of gas, almost 2/3. I asked Chris about the discrepancy, and he told me that since the prepay gas is cheaper than outside, they don't prorate or refund any unused gas, basically all sales are final on prepay gas. The question now is who's telling the truth? Chris said that since Adriea told me that I would be refunded the unused gas, he'll honor it and refund me the amount. He said that he'll send me an email with the new receipt that shows the refund. So far I haven't received any email that shows the refund. I don't know what their policy is on the sales of the prepay gas. Corporate is probably pushing their employees to try selling more of it to make more profit on the unused gas. I work in the retail and service industry, and my boss always pushes us to make sales on products and services, so I know how it is. They need to get their story straight. If the employee was lying, she need to stop. If the employee wasn't lying and just didn't know the policy, she need to be retrained on it. The customer needs to know everything up front so we can make an informed decision based on what services and products that we need or don't need. read more

Omg. They were so helpful and fit me in literally before closing. Everytime the auto body shop would extend the repair time, They would extend rental and make the process so easy. Everything was smooth. They were the only saving grace in my auto repair experience. The staff here are so nice! And the car was so clean. I couldn't make their hours to drop off rental so they directed me to a shop that was open later. Just so nice! I dropped off at mission location and they were also so nice. I can't speak more highly of my experience renting a car from this location & the staff. No need to bother renting a car from anywhere else nearby - no one can top these guys! Everyone at this branch goes above and beyond, being simultaneously proficient with their job(s) and also operating with autonomy they expertly employ. They're efficient and thorough, yet also flexible with shifting situations. They stay on top of things for you, and followed up casually with me a few times without ever causing alarm or making me feel concerned, while keeping me fully informed with updates. I spoke with Chris a few times on the phone and he was quick in answering all of my questions, and elected to call me back instead of wasting any of my time when he needed to take a bit more time to look up or write some adjustments. Everyone I interacted with in the branch was professional but easy to talk to and engaged with me. Last but not least, the branch manager here, Eyad, is seriously a rare gem of a human being!! He stayed late - of his own volition & despite me showing-up just before close - so that he could help me out and smooth over a few things with my extenuating circumstances for my rental. He made a huge difference, too, and was able to save me a great amount of money in a short amount of time. I usually have good experience with Enterprise Rent A Car; however, this location gave me the worst experience ever. I got a rental car from another city's Enterprise office and was on a business trip in San Francisco. During the trip, one of the tires in my rental car had constant low tire pressure so I stopped by this location (very close to my hotel) to find out what was going on. I was approached by their Manager Trainee Valentino Miles but he was anything but helpful. First, he showed he was annoyed by the customer's request to check on the rental vehicle. When asked by the customer why the tire had constant low pressure. His response was "Cause you put a nail in it". He also claimed he did not have to help this customer since he is from another Enterprise location and he was doing the customer a favor by checking on it. While he was speaking, he was taking off his jacket and rowing up his sleeves in a threatening manner. I never experienced such unprofessional customer service in my life. Assistant Manager Zach later stepped in to deescalate the situation. However, I would NEVER come back to this location ever again. read more

I made rental reservation throught their website several weeks prior. I then contacted the branch several hours before the reservation time to schedule a pickup. I was given a pickup window of 12p-1215p. At 1220p, I called the branch and was told that the scheduled driver had an "incident" and that they would reimburse me if I took a taxi to the branch. (thanks for calling and letting me know!) Once I finally reached the branch, I was told that I could not rent a vehicle with a checkcard. It didn't matter that I had 10x the amount of the total rental in my checking account. I authorized them to put a $500 hold on my card, but that was not an option. The reason I could not use a checkcard was because I did not have a local address. The associate then suggested a Budget rental agency a mile away. He stated that they do accept checkcards of out-of-towners. I called Budget and they were closed. My GF and I then hailed a taxi and headed for SFO. I figured that renting from an agency in the airport would be the smartest option since we could return the car and check in at the airport afterwards (a much better option than renting in-town, dropping the rental off in-town, and taking a taxi or the BART to the airport). I would give the negative stars if I could. They sent me out in a car with oxycotin pills just sitting right under the parking break. I found them the first time I parked. The worst of it was that they barely cared when I showed them the pills and told them about it, they just offered me a new car. I asked what if I had got pulled over, their response was that "You would have been fine and it would not have been an issue because its a rental car" Needless to say I would never recommend this place and there manager is incompetent. read more

Enterprise is the only place I rent cars from and it's probably because of their online reservations, no cancellation fees, online chat to answer my questions immediately (I hate using phones), and customer service. Having a few friends who have/ do work at an Enterprise, I know that these guys bend over backwards to make their customers happy...and that makes me happy. A couple of weeks ago the bf and I went to pick up a compact/economy car for the weekend. Came in and had to wait ~15 minutes for a car. Kind of lame, but got a discount for our troubles (yay!). The guy warned me it would be a SUV unless we wanted him to drive us to the one on 6th and Geary---umm, too far, no thanks. Got in and....daaaamn! This thing was ghetto fab and big as a tank! Ballers for a weekend...riiight. Thank god we don't live in the city anymore (imagine parking). Time to return it--got to fill 'er back up. Holy crap! 3/4 of a tank cost us $60! Wth?!?! This why poor people don't drive these cars. I am not ghetto fab...I am not any kind of fab and an "economy" girl has no business driving in "luxury" or spending $60 on less than 3/4 of a tank of gas. This was my first bad experience with Enterprise. Somehow I felt betrayed/ wronged and called them to vent...and guess what? They apologized and will comp a tank of gas for our next reservation. YAY! Horrible experience. A big waste of time. I made reservations online. Enterprise does advertise that they "pick you up" When I called the office, Jeff , store manager, told me that they will not pick me up from my place in SOMA (too out of the way for them) but they would pick me up from union SQ. He didn't want to make concrete plans on exact place for pick up before I actually get to union SQ. I get to union SQ and called him. He gave me an intersection that would be convenient ofr them and he said he will have a driver there in few minutes. I waited on that intersection from 2.10 PM to almost 3 PM and called the office 3 times. The first two times the respond was " we have to see where the driver is. what is your name and number. we will get back to you". The third time "our drive was waiting for you and didn't see you and we didn't have your number to call you" I understand that not a very high level of IQ is required for a lot of jobs but some check should be in place to at least meet a competency level to do basic tasks pertaining to the job. This is a car rental place, this could have been a simple process in place not this horrible experience for a customer For example: make plans as where to pick up if not at someone's house have the driver call me if he doesn't see me (I was on the corner and saw ever car that passed by, no car was stopped there very simple steps that seem to be too much to ask in this place read more

I've used this place several times and was really happy with it, until this last time. When I came to pick up my economy car (booked a week in advance), they told me they only had a mini van left.. I'm a small girl, I'm not comfortable driving big cars, especially mini vans, so I told the agent I couldn't possibly drive it. He said that I could basically either take it or cancel the booking. How nice! I didn't have much of a choice, so I had to take it, and expressed my frustration by saying I'd never use that Enterprise branch again. The agent replied to this, 'That's totally fine with us'. He wasn't even apologetic, he was actually rude! When I approached the car, he said 'And to add to that bad review you are going to write, the tank is also empty'. What can you say to this? I was speechless. When I returned the car, they gave me some paper which says "free upgrade on the next car". But I don't need an upgrade, I only drive small cars!! Plus, I'm not sure that if I ever come again they will have anything other than mini vans left. read more

I booked a Hybrid for 9 days total for a long cross country trip and while I was making the reservation there was no milage restriction ever mentioned in the process. It was always unlimited milage and no asterisk, nothing. When I walked up to the counter to pick the car up, the nice lady did some small talk and also asked me where I was going, when I was telling her where I was going she brought up that the unlimited milage is only within California and Nevada and showed it to me on the computer screen, telling me I must have overlooked it as I did make the reservation (which I did not, see bellow). She argued with me and basically forced me into agreeing to a $300 surcharge for extra miles. Almost doubling the rental fee. I give the one start for two reasons: 1.) It is evil of Enterprise to talk customers into admitting to terms they might not be aware of, it is even more evil of them to have billing practices which do not relay on anything they can measure. The amount of miles I drove outside of California and Nevada is undetectable, unless they track their vehicles, which they don't do. 2.) The aforementioned milage restrictions I was shown on their website is not listed for Hybrids. It is just listed for standard cars. The reason I did not see these terms is because they do not exist for my case. So they talked me into agreeing to an significant extra charge that does not exist. Thats what I call customer service. I'm trying to get my money back now, as disputing this when returning the car did not help (they just billed by CC). Enterprise, never again! read more

What a disappointment! Was there today to rent a car to go to the Muir Woods. Was very excited. So. I'm the person paying, but not driving (I haven't driven for years). The person driving, only have a debit card. My mom, who's visiting, offered to use her credit card, which has more then enough credit limit to buy a new car. To Enterprise, that's not gonna work. This Turk Street Enterprise location never ceases to amaze me with excellent customer service (visible employee pride and real smiles) and a smooth rental experience from start to finish. I appreciate my reminder call the day before ("don't forget to bring a valid credit card") and they are the only convenient place to pick up a car on a Sunday in SF (thank you for being open!!). On top of that, paperwork is explained well, processed quickly and I'm on my way in no time! This weekend I called at 8:00am on Sunday morning (when they opened) to request a house pick-up and was told that they wouldn't be able to make it to me until 9:00am because a pick-up car was going to the shop. "Why don't you take a cab and we will credit $10 toward your rental?" said the agent. Music to my ears! I could tell this wasn't the standard policy and that they were going out of their way to accommodate me and my time crunch. Much appreciated! I'll be back. read more

I love this location and will go here even if it costs more than other places. I've rented here dozens of times and there is only one time when I had to wait for longer than 5 minutes. Everyone there is friendly and the service is quick and efficient. And no one gives me a hard time for waiving damage insurance. I can't speak to their conflict resolution because I never had to deal with them in any stressful situations. But maybe that's a good sign. More often than not, I am able to get a pretty cheap rate ($20-30 per day for economy. This usually depends on whether I can book a few weeks in advance. I used to go to SFO thinking that it would be a better deal, but it is always an ordeal and takes forever. read more
