I'm a huge fan of enterprise OTHER THAN this location. My flight landed super late due to a delay. Listen, we all are frustrated and tired so there is no reason to make it worse for one another, right?!? Well, avoid this counter and walk over to the taxi service instead or better yet just go stand in the uber line. The guy who waited on me was so rude and pushy with upgrades and high prices even though the manager next to him said give him 'this rate' he still tried to double it. I finally just said cancel this before it processed and got myself an uber. I'll rent a car offsite and not at the airport counter at SRQ ever again. So, to the guy behind the counter, put your snack & drink down, smile... have some compassion for others that had just as bad if not worse day than you did. Well that was an awful experience. I came face to face with a lack of professionalism, no customer care, and the manager required some back to the basics training. We rented a vehicle from another state. It was leaking oil. We called roadside assistance and customer care and since it was still somewhat drivable - we were instructed to take it to Enterprise Sarasota Airport. They affirmed that they had vehicles and were able to switch it out. We did that - met the manager, he stated they didn't have any vehicles, and was unable to switch. No problem solving, no engaging customer care to resolve this issue. Just a BIG can't help you. Oh wait he did tell us that WE can take the care to Firestone TO HAVE IT SERVICED. they do not answer their bloody phone! We've been on hold now for 45 minutes. We tried to call them to let them know. We were coming late with a tow truck. We only had 15 minutes to get there. And they would not answer their phone!I Once we got there - just 10" before closing the staff were WONDERFUL. They were very apologetic about their phone system which is down. They had been asking management to fix it and had gotten no response. Car I rented experienced (mechanical) problems. Enterprise promised for 3 successive days to replace the vehicle and failed every time. I eventually had to nurse the car back home on my own. When visiting the multiple locations that I was told were going to complete the car "swap", I was met with................We don't do that here..........don't know how to do that.................try a different location...........never heard of that before...............don't care what the notes on your account say...........upper management will have to call you after they look into that.......can you move away from the desk so I can help someone that has a new reservation................. UNBELIEVABLE. ZERO accountability. I never received a follow up call, or a call back. I literally spent hours calling new locations AND the central reservations line, but was continually re-directed to locations farther an farther away from where I was staying, only to be disappointed. Lots of cars to rent to other people, but they already had my money so I was no longer important. Shame on you Enterprise. Your mission statement is a joke. We rented a 15 passenger van. It came with the normal amenities including German cockroaches . Yeah hundreds of them. Hopefully they didn't get into our luggage . First time I've ever experienced something like this . Just wanted to inform you all it's a possibility. I doubt it happens a lot however more of a possibility in a large van. People leave food etc and it doesn't get cleaned out properly. I don't know if Enterprise will adjust the fees charged but we will find out . I let them know , they didn't seem overly apologetic. Corporate attitude I guess. Just know if you see one cockroach there are plenty more . We saw hundreds. Yikes ! I sure hope we didnt bring them to the house . We left our luggage outside and will carefully go through it and wash everything . Take no chances . Just an fyi for y'all. German cockroaches in a rental van....whooda thunk? read more

This review is only for a drop off. I've had my prior issues with Enterprise at one point (the LAX branch) with some of the people they employ, though any experiences with them since have been just fine. I had picked up my car from Tampa and arranged to drop off at this location at Sarasota airport. Drop off was a breeze, as the airport is small and easily maneuverable. The signs point you to where you need to go and each company represented there has an area to return your car. The employee who directed me to a space was friendly and after a quick look at the car, I was done. No lines, no hassles, and no headaches here. Not too much else to write about with a car return, but this was as easy as it gets. read more

We booked our reservation for a large SUV at Enterprise's Sarasota airport location over a week in advance. We completed confirmation the day before with CC and even called to verify that the car was reserved before driving to pick today. We drove all the way there to pick up our car and they did not have anything suitable for us. The only vehicle they were able to offer was a small minivan. We contacted customer service and were told that we would hear from regional associate within 2-4 hours to bring us a car. We never received a call and are still without a rental. I understand circumstances change but to reach out to us to confirm and get payment information the day before and not notify us there was a shortage is unacceptable. We have used Enterprise several times and are Plus members for whatever that's worth. I believe they rented ours for a higher premium to someone on the spot and used us as a back up reservation. Went to Enterprise at the Sarasota airport yesterday. They have several lines due to they are trying to see Enterprise, National and Alamo. my husband walked up to the Enterprise counter because we paid for Enterprise when they guy at the counter started yelling he cut the line. We don't work for Enterprise and don't know what they were trying to do. The manager quickly took his side so you can get no help at this airport. If you were looking to rent a rental car I suggest don't pay extra to use enterprise get the cheapest car. we have rented from Enterprise for several years because of their customer service. I reserved a car to use while on vacation. When I got to the checkout counter, I was told I could NOT use my debit card...unless I was flying back...it had to be a credit card....I don't have one...I use cash! I asked if I could call and have my husband give his credit card...they said NO. I'm sure this has something to do with security...but really? One star is too much for the experience I just had in the Sarasota airport. 2 1/2 hours in line to get to counter. All the other service counters, Budget, Hertz and even Dollar moved faster. I recently rented from Enterprise and Demarcus was very professional and helpful with completing my transaction.

If we could give less stars, we would. Due to a family emergency we needed to change flights. We were turning in our rental EARLY at another location about 30 min away. Enterprise was not flexible and not apologetic and charges $280 to change drop off locations. We were never notified in advance that we would be charged (at time of rental) as we've dropped at other locations previously. The costumer service refused to connect us with management, or a direct report of theirs. They were unapologetic and gave no apology or resolution to ensure customer satisfaction. Customer service with enterprise is dead. This is why the world needs "mom and pop" places back so Corporate companies like this would not thrive off of greed! Didn't have a car for me. Let me drive out in an unsafe car. Rude manager, employee eating chips behind the counter. They wanted me to wait an indefinite period of time for a car. This all started from their other location in Sarasota when Alex the manager didn't tell this location to reserve a car. This place had me drive to Firestone where they couldn't fix the tire. I had a rental all planned to drive from Sarasota, Florida to Ohio. So i get a call from Enterprise that they are closing my pick-up location due to Corona. The guy suggests 2 locations that would be near me so I call and change my reservation. Then I find out that it is almost 20 miles out of the way. I then request the other site - the airport, 5 miles away - reservation guy says OK, but I have to pay an up charge of almost $25. "Your kidding, Enterprise forced the change, not me." I recently spent a week's vacation in the Sarasota area. I flew in on a Saturday afternoon, and my car was ready to go in less than 5 minutes! I opted for an economy model, and got a brand new Nisan Versa with less than 100 miles on it. Spotless, and fully gassed up. The service is outstanding. The staff could not be more friendly and helpful. Due to weather issues and flight cancellations, I had to extend my rental twice. Doing so was easy, and they did not gouge me for the extra days at all! I highly recommend this Enterprise outlet. read more

Our first time renting a car so we were a little bit apprehensive about being talked into upgrades, upcharged, or charged extra at the end of our rental. Luckily, none of that happened. Our biggest complaint was the very slightly irritated lady who checked us in and got us set up, but other than that, everything went smoothly as expected, and no extra charges. We booked our reservation through Costco, so I feel like we got a good deal, and we went with Enterprise because overall, they seem to be the highest quality company nationally. A bit more expensive than available alternatives at SRQ, but we didn't want to take any chances on arriving and having our family of 5 (with 2 car seats) squeezed into a compact car. We got a 2016 Chevy Impala. It was clean when we picked it up, but I"ll admit it was a bit messy with some crumbs on the seats from my kids after we removed the carseats, and of course sand on the floor boards from our beach vacation. They assured me that was no problem, and there's no extra charge for small messes like that that vacuum up. Dropping off the car couldn't have been easier - you pull up, an employee from a covered tent nearby comes over, takes a quick walk around, and signs your receipt. Done within 2 minutes. Overall, we would absolutely rent through Enterprise again, considering our experience and the consistent reviews we've seen. read more

A four hundred dollar car rental quickly scaled to 1,100 dollars thanks to overpriced insurance. When your insurance costs are more expensive in Florida than they are in NYC, get a reality check. Be warned, car-renters: There was no one in the Enterprise line for a reason. They were all in the Budget and Avis lines. If you are flying into Sarasota, do NOT rent with this Enterprise. On top of tripling the amount of my car rental, I was (at first) given a car that smelled (literally) like feces and had brown stains on the seat. Quick and friendly service at the check-in counter at the Sarasota, FL airport... even gave me her business card to call directly if I needed anything. The car lot attendants were very friendly and offered me cold bottled water while I waited for them to bring up my car, and they even took time to show me how properly use the convertible top features on the car. She did talk us into an upgrade to a large car as my husband is pretty tall. Return was a breeze. There were several agents there checking in cars and we were taken care of immediately. Upon our return dropping off vehicles from Miami to Sarasota the staff at this location was very helpful in addressing the issues we had with the vehicle we returned for our return trip. This was not their responsibility as they did not provide us with the defective vehicle (wrong keys!!) however they accommodated us and compensated us appropriately for our inconveniences. Flew into Sarasota Florida with my Mom and 5 sisters for a week. We walked to the Enterprise lot where our car was waiting. We were greeted with cold bottles of water and the Enterprise service person went to get our car. The car was actually wonderful. Almost brand new with under 2,000 miles and just perfect for our large party. We rented a mini van. Now I am not a mini van person, however, this Town and Country was all electronic. The doors open and shut by a button and it was fabulous for all of us and our luggage. Everyone kept commenting was a great car it was. And....it Doesnt get better than this! read more
