On Monday, May 18, 2026, my husband and I flew into Knoxville, Tennessee from Colorado and picked up our rental vehicle from the Enterprise location at approximately 3:30 p.m. The vehicle was parked in a dark garage. Due to the tight spacing between vehicles, a thorough exterior inspection was difficult, and I was unable to record a video walk-around as is my normal practice. Upon entering the vehicle, we immediately noticed a strong marijuana odor, indicating that the previous renter had smoked inside the car. There was no return/exit booth at the Knoxville location where we could have reported the odor. We proceeded directly to Townsend, Tennessee, where we met friends and parked the vehicle at our resort. My husband noticed black electrical tape applied to the corner of the driver's side door, apparently covering something underneath. We did not remove or disturb the tape. The vehicle remained parked in front of our room in a quiet area with no nearby vehicles over night. We did not leave the resort property except for a meal on-site. The following morning, we drove to Gatlinburg for breakfast at the Pancake Restaurant. The vehicle was not parked near other cars. Two friends then followed us on motorcycles as we returned the vehicle to the Enterprise location in Sevierville. We stopped briefly for fuel at PACECAR in Sevierville. Upon arrival at the Sevierville Enterprise location, (not even 24 hrs) I was assisted by an employee named Tate. I provided the mileage (43,349). Tate conducted the vehicle inspection and informed me there was damage to the side of the car. When I examined the area, I observed a mark that appeared to have been painted over. I immediately stated that we had not caused or attempted to repair any damage. Tate responded that Enterprise does not perform that type of repair work. I also pointed out the black electrical tape on the door corner that we had observed upon pickup. I expressed concern that we were being held responsible for pre-existing damage on a vehicle with nearly 50,000 miles. I also mentioned the strong marijuana odor present when we received the vehicle. Tate acknowledged that some issues cannot be fully controlled but indicated the damage would require investigation. We are currently awaiting the results of Enterprise's investigation and any determination regarding liability for the reported damage. We did not cause this damage, nor did we attempt to conceal or repair any issue with the vehicle. Given this experience--including the vehicle's condition at pickup, the difficulty of proper inspection, and the subsequent claim process-- I have made numerous attempts to email or speak with upper management regarding this matter with no response! BTW you have to go through the chat on line when you have an issue, and they supposedly will escalate to management! Ridiculous Adding to my story.... Received a call from Tahreem from the airport and just happened to call to see how my rental went.... Unbelievable that they rented this car out an hour after I dropped it off! After calling back Severville and talking with Nick and told me didn't have a chance to investigate.. don't you think he should've told me at that time they rented it to go to Georgia? Don't like being a Karen but when you are blamed for something you didn't do, it's hard not to be. read more

If I could give a zero I would. We got a flat on the way home. No spare at all. Roadside "assistance " told us to get an uber home. Then hung up on us. We called back. They told us to call 911. Then hung up on us. Finally talked to someone who got us a tow truck and Uber. Took one of our group to the closest airport and now they are giving him trouble there. We are stranded with our kids and luggage now. Don't use them. In addition we are in an unsafe area and are fearing for our lives. ETA of course we can't reply to the reply on this. We have called the customer service line which this link tells us to do and it was worthless. So not helpful at all of course. read more

We are in a motor home and spending 1 week in pigeon forge tn. we rented a car from enterprise about 2 weeks prior to get a car for 3-4 days. We get to Sevierville, Tn Enterprise and they tell us we are a couple hours (Thats pushing it) late picking up the car, so they rented to someone else. 1/2 hour later they find us a car, they were getting ready. Well, another 1/2 hour of getting things ready and they tell me. We don't take your Wells Fargo-Visa-Debit card from outside a 50-mile radius. What nowhere on their website does it say that. I googled Rental cards that take Wells-Fargo-bank cards, and they came up. So, we got nowhere being they're at enterprise. So, we get to our campground, and I go to their website at chat with an online agent. waited about 15 minutes to get an agent. Explained everything to her and she was rude and ended the chat with me. So here I sit in my Motorhome with nowhere to go because my rental car company did not advertise that they didn't take Visa-Bank-Debit. I also have a tap visa card that is a true credit card that my bank set up on my phone, all I have to do is tap my phone to the credit card machine and it automatically gets charges to my Visa Credit Card. They wouldn't take that either. I feel I had seen false advertising; they were very undependable, the chat agent was rude, and they gave me no other solution to this problem, they left me high and dry and stuck in a motorhome for a week. If you're looking to rent a car from Enterprise in Sevierville DON'T! I called the day before to set it all up and make sure everything was all in order and to make sure it would be ready for me to go to work. It was supposed to be ready for me to pick up at 7:30am the following morning and it wasn't ready until 3:30pm. It was dirty, not washed, and not sanitized like they said it would be for preventive measures. They did pick up the previous renters trash and vacuum it. They knew I was running late since they made me wait 8 HOURS so they graciously pulled everything up for me and I electronically signed for it. I returned it today and now there's marks and scratches on it and I have to pay for it. There's also a leak in a tire that I'm sure I'll have to pay for. The only reason you can see anything wrong on it is because I HAD to wash it! I HAD to clean and sanitize it NOT THEM! Beware of their 'shady' business practices. we (6 people) were on vacation and our car broke down on top of a mountain. i had to pay a couple to drop me off at enterprise after i was told they had a car available. once i was there they would not rent me a car because my card said debit. i understand rules and policies but this was an actually emergency. tow truck driver could only take 2 people off the mountain so two 18 year old girls would be left on top of the mountain alone if i could not get a car. enterprise was not helpful at all. i had to walk over 2 miles to get to another car rental place that actually was closed but the guy was nice enough to go back in the office so i could get a car. i would not recommend enterprise to anyone!!!!!! read more

Struggling with my husband's dementia, Entreprise was the unexpected gift. Because of car trouble that caused our car to be towed for repairs, I called to see about renting a car. I have never called to rent a car before anywhere. And I had no idea how I would be able to get the car. And I also had to find someone who would understand my situation with my husband and be patient with us because we are "joined at the hip". From the first phone call to Enterprise, to the pick up, to the kindness of the driver, we are floating on a Sea of Gratitude. It would be a blessing to turn to Enterprise here is Sevierville. This place is the epitome of Customer Service!!! It started out with Ely being very friendly, polite and taking care of a small situation. Then we unfortunately had a horrendous issue with Nashville Airport and the MGR there who was the all time worst asst mgr EVER. Corporate was also not very helpful or resourceful in regards to the car having a potentially catastrophic failure due to it being overfilled with oil. The above two told me to drive the vehicle and if it failed and wrecked the engine it would be someone else problem. I just couldn't let a newer vehicle be ruined and contacted Brad here In Sevierville. Brad listened took charge and called all the local Enterprise locations near us to make sure we were in a safe vehicle to make it back to Sevierville. Our truck needed work last minute while on vacation. We found out a wheel bearing went bad. We have two small children and would have literally been stranded. My husband called them Monday morning at 8am. We had the rental car delivered by 10am. If they would not of been so accommodating our trip would have turned into a disaster. We feel very blessed they were so accommodating. The SUV we were given held all of the items we had loaded in the truck bed. It did great in the mountains and was very clean. Its convenient, that's it Be prepared to wait for a car, always. Employees are not very professional, they have no qualms in passing comments about you while you are waiting with other customers and among themselves, especially Chris, who is always clueless about the rentals but loves to comment on everything and everyone. He seems to have an opinion about everything, whether it concerns him or not. If you call and ask about the cars on the lot right now you will get an answer, "I don't know." I guess its too difficult to look at their computers for an inventory. Have tried to contact the manager to complain but always reach his voicemail. The only person who actually knows how to do her job is the Asst. Manager Casey, she is awesome and very helpful - the drivers who pick you up are also nice and helpful, especially Roger and Elaine. I took my truck to a shop for repairs. Enterprise was supposed to pick m up at 10:00 am. They finally picked me up at a little after 11:00 on a Tuesday. I returned the car the next Tuesday. My insurance company said I could just leave it at the shop, but I chose to take it back to the rental company so I could be there when they inspected it. They indicated they didn't have anyone to take me back. I let them know I would just drive it to. The repair shop and leave it for them. They checked and said someone would be back to give me a ride in 10-15 minutes, so I said I would wait. When they finished the inspection, they told me I would have to pay for an extra day. Instead of the seven days I had it they charged me for eight. When it got to be a half hour wait, I told them I would just drive the car to the repair shop and they could pick it up later. I was told they had already closed out the rental and I couldn't. Even though I paid the extra day, I was not allowed to use the car I had paid for. Finally after two other drivers had returned and were just standing around chatting, I asked if I was going to get a ride back, they finally did. By they way, they charged the person in front of me for an extra day as well. When he questioned it, they told him to get reimbursed from his insurance company, which is what they told me also. Very deceptive practices. Also one tire was leaking air, so I filled it up before taking it back, so I did not get charged for that as well. read more

A big shout out to Eric the manager at Enterprise Car Rental in Sevierville TN, who went the extra mile (really miles) to get my husband home during this Corona Virus pandemic. He was hiking the Appalachian Trail and in the Smokie Mountains when the Trail was closed do to the virus. Enterprise and Eric made the exception to go outside their typical delivery territory to get a car to him. You can imagine our relief when he arrived safely back home to KY. We were never told about extra driver cost 10.00 per day. And we returned the car to sylva nc and they were closed when we arrived. And we got charged for two more days I pick up my rental at 230 and it should be returned by that time. it was 1230 in the afternoon they said you should have been there before they closed...Sorry I would not use Enterprise again been a customer for many years..... read more

I am a fan of the 736 W. Main St. location in Sevierville TN thanks to Ryan Herlong. My family had a breakdown while on vacation Friday (6/28) around 4:45pm and called the 800-reservation number to get a rental car and pick up. We were told/emailed that a pick up would be by 5:30pm. By 5:40pm (no pick up) we were concerned so we, contacted the local branch to be told they could no get us due to no extra people to come out. Location closes at 6pm so after a Uber pick at approx. 6pm, Ryan stayed late to make sure we were taken care of. That is customer service and we wanted to make sure Enterprise is aware that lack of performance by reservations was fixed by local Manager. read more

I WISH I could give a lower rating. I was on my way to Florida this Sunday and our car's engine broke down. We needed a whole new engine. We towed it to a Hyundai dealership and went to Enterprise for a rental. THAT WAS 3 DAYS AGO. We have been STUCK in Tennessee for 3 days paying on the AirBnb in Florida AND the motel we're staying in AND transportation to get places here. It's outrageous. They "asked corporate" 2 days ago. A very nice clean facility that not only smells good has great costumer service. Their cars are new and although there is one minor catch when getting the car (insurance is $20 for the car and $13 for passengers) it is insanely worth it. The car we got has nice air, great brakes and an aux plug in with screen play. Our car broke down on vacation and this was by far the most accommodating place I have been to on this trip. Worst service ever! Employees were u informative and not nice at all.. Needed a car for a work event from Gatlinburg to Highpoint,NC then back home to Louisville,KY this location does not do one ways so it's basically useless as a car rental place if your out of town and you have to have a credit card because your real money on a card linked to a bank account is useless. I called 20 minutes ahead of time and wasn't told any of this other then they would try and work something out with the credit card thing because I only had my bank card.. Guess they changed their minds once I arrived to be unhelpful..I do not recommend this enterprise or any for that matter due to this experience. We spent at least one hour at the facility. Totally disorganized. Instead of completing one customer who is checking in, they go on to another person which equates to nothing more than chaos. This does nothing but create a bottleneck of customers waiting to be on their way. Several customers, who were turning cars in, were served prior to us and other customers who were waiting to get their cars and leave. It is clear the staff knows that they have you committed so poor service is ok with them. When I approached an employee about our wait time I was told that someone would be with me shortly. Someone at the corporate level needs to get involved with the folk at this location and remedy the problems there. On the positive side, when we returned our vehicle everything went smoothly. The employee who acts as the driver is also the one who cleans the cars. He does not seem to be very motivated. We have rented cars from Enterprise four times since August 15, 2015 and have been satisfied only on two occasions. This was not our experience in 2012, 2013, and 2014. This was the worst experience I have had with a car rental company. I actually rented 4 cars within 2 weeks, and this location has no clue what they are doing and still holding over $250 of my money from 2 wks ago when I was told upfront it would only be $150 and it would go back in 24 hrs. When I was there yesterday dealing with them, to return my 4th rental which of course had a flat on the way I wasn't given the option to keep it since they were keeping my money they wanted to charge me ANOTHER $235 for a day and a half!! So I was pushed out the door w no money refunded, no rental, and feeling like no one cared. I will not rent with them ever again, and I do rent quite often, and I will make sure none of my family and friend do so no one is treated this way. read more

Needed a car for the weekend for local. When I went in to pick it up, I found out that I had mistakenly reserved online for the wrong dates. Big oops! The desk agent was so nice. She didn't make a big deal about it. Found me another car for only a few bucks a day more (bigger than what I had reserved). In and out in twenty minutes. Great experience. Returning the vehicle took less than ten minutes even though I wanted to pay with a different card than I had reserved with. I will be sure to use this location whenever I need a rental. It's dirty, the cars are not kept up well, and the representatives are lazy and seem to enjoy being rude to customers. The only reason they are so busy is they have a monopoly on the Sevierville area. I am a platinum member and I now drive the extra 20 minutes to the airport or Newport just so I don't have to deal with the nonsense at this branch, I wrote a letter to corporate with my complaints over 2 months ago and never heard back from them. After a long wait ( around 2+ hours ) for the size car I requested I took a huge suburban just so I could get started on my way.I was wanting to rent one way but was told there is a$150 relocation fee to leave the vehicle there ....
