My experience started off great then dropped off a cliff at this location. During my visit, I was authorized to receive a rental after getting into an accident. I arrived at the office and was offered 2 choices which was a pleasant surprise. The pickup experience was smooth and flawless. The car was perfect, and I didn't even mind bringing the vehicle to a Pepboys for service mid-month. The service was billed to Enterprise and just took an hour of my time. A month later, I receive a call from George at 11:30 AM and he says that I have to return the vehicle since it has been sold. This is weird, as I've never had this happen to me before. However, I was understanding and said that's fine as long as you can setup an appointment at another office since the South El Monte location closes at 5PM and is not open on Saturdays. George told me he would set up everything and give me a call back to ensure that a car of similar size will be available. Thursday ends and most of Friday passes and I didn't receive a call. I didn't want any repercussions, so I called back at 4:45 Friday and asked what's going on. I guess he forgot about making an appointment for me at the other location. They provided good service while being at the South El Monte location, but I feel like their commitments to seeing through my overall positive rental experience lacked. This Enterprise store is located in the Golden Vista Plaza. It's accessible through the traffic intersection of Garvey Ave and Lee Ave. The parking area near the building is limited and can fill up fast when they get busy. We came to add a few extra drivers onto our car rental. The staff member who helped us was friendly and pleasant. After we were done and were about to leave, a ton of cars came in and blocked our car. We had to wait a bit as we asked the staff members to help identify the drivers before we were able to leave. My family and I had a wonderful experience with this team. I'd like to acknowledge Will and his team at this location for being professional and courteous. We booked a reservation online for a van for our family trip up north but the vehicle we selected was not available when we arrived to pick up. Terrible service, guy on the phone waved at me to wait before I even came in the door. Then this other guy, Mark, couldn't find my auto shop in their booklet of auto shop business cards and without hesitation said I need to go to another Enterprise location that was closer. I said I looked it up and this was the closest location. He confirmed. I'm typing this as I'm at this location because Mark just took a call in the middle of talking to me. He claimed it's because they're low on staff but so was the other location in Santa Monica, and I got courteous staff that said "if you wouldn't mind waiting a minute while I take this call" and picked me up from work (you know, with a GPS) in a nice Audi. I'm now sitting in the car with the Enterprise driver who yelled at me and has no GPS so I have to navigate for him. He's also a really abrasive driver who makes sharp turns and harsh stops. If you have the option of going to a different Enterprise I would definitely steer clear of this one because they suck. You'll feel even worse leaving this place than when you came in--and probably way more car sick. read more

The worst enterprise experience ever. We reserved the compact rental car on Friday March 22nd at 5pm. Base on the bad traffic on Friday, we got there a lil late like 5:30pm. When we be there, a lady called Chelsea help us out. She didn't mentioned anything and get all my informations to charge on my credit card. And after that, she told us. Okay, we r overbooked today and because you late. We don't have any car available for you now. And you guys didn't pay anything to reserve a car online until you are here. So we don't have care for you now. You have to go the other closer location which the place all the way I came from Alhambra without hesitation. I explained I came all the way from Alhambra to this location get the rental car now you asked me go back to Alhambra location pick up the car? She just shows me her face like I don't care. It is none of my business. It is been very ridiculous to tell customer Overbooked rental car. You had Customer's information. You guys show do a better service to care about customer like overbook before we came get the rental car. The girl who worked their call Chelsea has really rule customer service. Whatever questions we asked, her face looks like I almost off. I don't want take your work. Even we saw some rental cars outside, she said opps those car been reserved. Excuse you. My friends and I were going on a trip that had snow, so we wanted to rent an all wheel drive SUV. But... Us being us, none of us reserved the car and we scrambled to look for one to rent the morning we were about to depart. I called numerous places and only this place had an all wheel drive car they can reserve for me. Not only that, but they are up front about the price. I reserved through USAA (because it's slightly cheaper and also can waive under 25 driver fee). The price I saw was the price I paid. I also reserved small SUV online, but Shek gave us the normal size SUV for no additional fee anyways. Thank you!! We arrived at the shop, and they showed us the car (2017 by the way) and did a quick walk around to make sure the car is in good condition. Gary was very nice and explained the different insurance coverage in detail. We ended up buying $25/day insurance just for the peace of mind that if it ends up hailing and the car roof is damaged, we don't have to be liable for the damage. Annnnnd that was all, believe it or not. I signed some paper and probably signed my life away, but it only took 10-15 minutes from going in and driving away with the car. They count by whole days, by the way. So if you rented your car Monday at 1pm, wednesday at 2pm would count as three days, etc. Just FYI! The return process was also smooth and quick - dropped off the car, signed something else, and bid our goodbyes to the car we have grown attached to during the few days of our trip. Ryan and Shek has been great. They tried to be quick so we can we off our way. Since the car we were going to rent was not available yet, they gave us an upgraded car in exchange of us waiting (for who knows how long). With the luggage we had, they even offered to help us with them. None of them were pushy with the the insurance, warranty etc. Thanks guys for the easy going and stress free rental. Parking here is a pain in the behind though. So if there is a complaint its the parking itself for sure! And this location is hard to get into parking lot too. read more

I need to give writeups when I have extraordinary service - i've been using Enterprise for a long time as I often use car rental companies as I produce movies under the single purpose company names. Personally, I use different Rent-A-Car but I've discovered this rental car store as maybe the best service I've had because of one individual his name is Chandler . We should all have a Chandler at our company and if Enterprise doesn't keep promoting him he might be taken away. He's that good I've never quite seen anybody go the extra mile literally and figuratively as Chandler did as all the cars were taken and he did everything he could to get me in a smaller car as I could not drive a larger car for many reasons or fit it into my property. He went out of his way an hour and 15 minutes to bring me a proper car and also when I left paperwork, he took the steps to get it to me within two days, he did impeccable service and I have to say because of Chandler I'm going to stay with Enterprise and I also want to give a shout out to dominique. She gave excellent service. If everybody at Enterprise can follow suit with these two people they'd be the best company service for Rent-A-Car in the United States. Thank you. read more

I need to preface this review with a disclaimer - I was forced to go to this Enterprise because of my insurance. And I'm glad that I was. Shek, the branch manager, is phenomenal. Because of the hours and importance that I get my car into the shop ASAP, I had to skip out on some class time to get it all settled. When I got there, I told Shek that I need to get going ASAP and told him that I don't need insurance. He instructed his employees to forgo the entire speech and told them that I understood the risks. I was in and out within 15 minutes. Great! But wait... the car I received was actually found to be a car that was victimized by vandalism. So Shek asked if I could come back in for a free car upgrade, so I came back and left with a newer, better car in 5 minutes. I normally HATE the car rental procedure because of how stressful it can be - the insurance up-selling and fear mongering is ridiculous, but Shek made my experience great. I came here super last minute and was accommodated! I dropped off my car at the body shop and the guys at the body shop immediately gave this Enterprise location a call. 30 minutes before closing time I was THAT customer who needed a last minute rental. Looking around their lot, I didn't see any small sedan available and on top of that there were three people ahead of me waiting to be help for their possibly small sedan rental. Paperwork was super fast! The guy working at the counter 10/11/16 around 5:40 was able to answer all questions I had regarding the vehicle and my insurance process. Probably less than 10 minutes and I was out waiting for my rental. Gary took me to the rental that was available and briefly went over everything I needed to know. He was very informative and was not pushy with sales tactics. I needed my rental for 7-10 days so I added Enterprise's daily insurance ($11 a day in a addition to your rental cost) which Gary did not obligate but kindly suggested as I am renting the car for a long period of time. Gas prices were mentioned and he gave me a flat rate of $2.60. If gas happens to go up, I will be guaranteed this rate if I don't have time to fill the tank when returning the rental. Overall awesome experience! I appreciate that they were able to get me in and out before they close hence I came in last minute. The dude that works here, his name supposedly is Diego, tried twice to scam me with lies inferring that I violated the rental contract. On the first occassion, I had returned a rental and he did the post inspection. He came at me sideways saying I forgot to fill the gas tank up to the level when i took it off the lot. I told him that was bogus. I saw exactly where the gas level was because I also did the pre-inspection before renting it. We went back and forth until he finally conceded. It wasn't my first time renting cars. Been doing it for over 20 yrs. Then recently I rented another car same dude did the post inspection and it didn't take long for him to accuse me of violating the rental contract. He ask if I had someone else driving the car and I told him no. He called me a liar. He said he supposedly saw another person driving the car. I'm like what did this guy just say. Then I lost it. Told him who he thought he was coming at me like a cop or detective. It wasn't his business to spy on me and the important part was that I returned the car in excellent condition and paid in full. Wowzers. I just called this location and spoke with Chris whom I have been working with for the past couple weeks. Chris has been helpful over the course of my car rental experience until I called to finalize my rental term... Due to a delay w/ payment from my ins company, Enterprise charged my account for the amount unpaid. I understand that, says the renting party would be reliable on the paperwork. I've been a customer of Enterprise for a while so I wasn't upset or even bothered. I fixed the payment issues with my insurance company and gave Enterprise a call to let them know payment was on it's way and to educate me going forward, should this happen again involving insurance payments; is there a protocol that Enterprise has to follow BEFORE charging the renter or do they just charge without notice? And here's where it got messy.... Chris became defensive stating the obvious repeatedly and talking over me. After a while of getting no where and explaining that this was not a personal attack, I requested to speak to the manager. He proceeded to tell me HE was the manager and wasn't letting up that he was the only person to speak to. Round and round we went until finally he gave up on me and gave me another name; Marianne. NOW, she was a sweetheart. If I dealt with her in the first place I think my review might've actually moved up some stars, but the experience as a whole was just so bitter sweet. Once in a while work gets crazy and customers can get ridiculous but it's important to understand that WHAT you do isn't WHO you are. I've always rented with Enterprise because they have great cars and great prices, but today their customer service really shined through. I almost had a very bad experience - I had a reservation and it was the first time I didn't call to let hem know I'm picking up later (they usually pick up and tell me not to worry) today was different though - all the cars were taken and I'd have over an hour wait to see IF someone would return a car. Shek could tell I was stressed from the situation and did a great job letting me know he cared about taking care of his customers. I called the office to inform them and they told me I would "be fine since the police will see that the car is registered to a rental company." I was also informed on the day I dropped my rental car off that they did not work with my insurance company and that I would be responsible for the ~$1000 rental bill. Next, he didnt write down that there were dents in the vehicle. Lastly he questioned me asking why do you want such a cheap car. My rental allowance had been $35 a day. So what if I wanted something with less value. Remember people watch that extra insurance. He spoke to me as I had been a 15 year old. He said, if you get the insurance and you damage the car.
