So we had a family emergency in Oxnard. my wife and I live in Las Vegas and We rented an enterprise vehicle at an enterprise location close by our home . We drove to Oxnard and the day we were to drive back to Vegas the entire dashboard on the vehicle goes black. You couldn't see the cameras , the gas , the radio , the AC NOTHIN . We called enterprise and were told to take the vehicle to ANY enterprise location and they would swap it out . We went to the Oxnard vta blvd location and got zero help ! And after a brief discussion FRANKIE AND ADRIAN stepped in and without much delay swapped the vehicle for one on their lot and we were back on the road again! They were busy nowhere to park and had people standing in empty parking spots so husband stopped by one of the entrances I watched as a lady honked at him he moved his car to make room for her frank apparently told him to move and he let him know he was waiting for me and frank didn't care told him to move because he was blocking . This was going on while I'm returning the car . Just as I'm finishing frank from across the office behind the desk asks me in a waiting room w people if that's my boyfriend I said yes and he had an attitude starts telling me to tell him to move and I said he's waiting for me and frank says he's making it difficult and he's blocking and before I could even respond or call my husband frank walks away . I dont think it's appropriate for him to bring a customer in the middle of an issue that's going on outside the business. Seems to be a very young and unprofessional team that cares more about hitting metrics and dishonest upselling with additional insurance they know that you don't need, vs being helpful and trustworthy. I was pressured heavily by the assistant manager about additional insurance I didn't need and made the mistake of trusting them. He actually went so far as to say that people often return the cars with damages, implying that I would do the same. I have called and called to try to rectify the situation, but I have not heard anything back.. from anyone. Pretty shady! "Absolutely." No hesitation. No upcharge. Just good service. When I shared my Ventura experience, her response wasn't defensive. She didn't deflect. She empathized. And then despite not being responsible for my negative experience she went out of her way to make it right. She applied a small discount to my rental as a gesture of goodwill. That small act meant a lot. It wasn't about the money it was about being seen and valued as a customer. Here's the truth: Salinas South embodies what customer service should look like. Ventura, unfortunately, missed the mark. And if Enterprise is indeed a single unified corporation, as Dainya confirmed, then consistency should be a standard not a gamble. To Enterprise management: Promote leaders like Dainya. Let her train others. Make her the face of your company culture. Her empathy, authority, and care turned a sour experience into one that renewed my loyalty. And as a returning customer for years, that matters. But I strongly encourage leadership to address the Ventura location's approach. Rigid policies, poor communication, and lack of situational awareness will cost you customers. My sister was in hospice care and is immune compromised so it was urgent to rent a car to see her that day. This enterprise rented us a Jeep that had a broken drive train and wobbled so badly that my husband couldn't keep his hands on the wheel. We had to stop in the Santa Clarita location that had no cars to give us. They sent us to the Burbank airport location who also sent us away and back to the this location which set us back by 3 hours. Thankfully someone at this location found a car for us in Sherman Oaks but by this time we already had missed the window on seeing our sister. The lack of safety procedures was astonishing and caused us to miss this event. There is no amount of money that can replace our lives in danger or missing my sister during her transition. First of all, unless you're calling to book a new reservation, they don't answer the call, I called 3 times and on hold for over 10 minutes all 3 times! The only reason I rented from this location was because it was closest to the repair shop my car was at. Daily rate on the economy car I rented was about 20% higher then where I usually rent from in TO. The car is very very BASIC, manual everything. The female staff that I interfaced with at pick'up was unfriendly and was not unhelpful. They proceeded to blame me even though, I barely drove the car it sat in my covered parking space and when I went to drive the crack was actually visible. So I was sent to Enterprise for a rental by my insurance company. My insurance covers $40 per day. The car they tried to put me in was undrivable. So the person who was helping me said " I can give you a different car for the same price". Then when I dropped the car off they charged me $260 out of pocket. I reserved a car that would hold 8 people online. I had a reservation number. When I went to pick it up, they didn't have it! They rented it to someone else. They offered me a vehicle that only held 5 people ( a Nissan Rogue). When I complained bitterly, they offered me the Nissan for the price of a regular car. Big deal. A Camry would have been nicer than the Rogue, and held just as many people. Also, the gas tank was 3/4 full. I am certain they charged the previous renter a huge amount of money for returning the vehicle without filling it up. But then I am the one who has to go get gas before my trip!!! Unbelievable. The low rating is due to the dirty condition of the car and also because Enterprise did not provide the car that was promised. When I made my reservation, I specified a mid size SUV or foreign make sedan. I wound up with a big clunky Chrysler 300M. The car was not clean, especially with regard to the inside windshield which had a thick oily film on it that made visibility difficult, especially with regard to the way the glare from oncoming headlights was dispersed. Ashley was quick to pick me up, but even better the car was tidy, and even better than that was her friendliness. Super easy to talk to and so professional! Kyle and Leon helped me with the rental check out process and both were awesome! Leon was very detailed on the different insurance policies and able to answer all my questions. The car we got was also the best condition we had. Especially with the car/car parts shortage I was nervous as to what we would be getting but they really blew my expectations. Which cost us $1,786.76 (client & employee labor) because we couldn't provide the service for the event we had been contracted for. Kyle Larson was super rude the day it happened and wasn't helpful at all. The reservation had been made weeks in advance and he just gave our shuttle away to someone just walking in expecting us to wait for another 45minutes when we had an obligation to meet. Ruining the wedding day of the bride & groom we had to shuttle. I would give no stars if I could, even a one-star service rating is too generous. First and last time using this location! I've used Enterprise for years with great success, until recently. Now they are like their competitors - they allow you to reserve cars on their website that they do not have available to rent. Then when you arrive they use the same unprofessional tactics of their competitors and offer you an upgrade at twice the price. When you politely decline they say have a nice day and move on to the next customer. No "thanks for being a member - sorry we didn't have the vehicle you reserved in advance with us...".
