The staff at this location are very helpful, courteous and professional. They really care about the customers and is shoe's in their professionalism. Unfortunately they are being handicapped by the online reservation staff that are promising customers that there is inventory at the location and not taking into account whether ornate the cars are in service. Which in turn, the customer drives or Ubers to the location only to be told there are other vehicles available... The customer also blames the location instead of corporate... The question is "would I recommend this place?" If there was a "Heck no" option I would click that because this place and especially the manager Felicia are so unprofessionally and rude. We rented a vehicle from this place and when we got it it had crumbs of chips or something in it. We didn't make any fuss about it because it wasn't a big issue but when we dropped off our vehicle we were charged $200 because it wasn't cleaned out. Mind you when we dropped it off we were told we were good to go and that there wasn't any issues. But as we are heading back home in an airplane we get the invoice with a cleaning fee and also a late return fee. The return was dropped off at 4:30pm and the contract clearing started return before 5pm. We got a credit back for the so called "late" return but they wouldn't do anything about the cleaning fee. The manager Felicia hung up on us twice and now we are trying to resolve the issue with corporate. Do yourself a favor and please don't rent anything from here. You will regret it. When I come back to Norfolk I'm definitely going to Hertz or somewhere else. This has been a horrible way to end our family vacation to a great city. I utilized Enterprise due to a recall on my vehicles airbag. The dealership provided a rental while the work was being done. The Enterprise shuttle came to the dealership and picked up everyone waiting for rentals. We all filed in and they serviced us one by one. It was so fast and quick. More attendants came from the back as the line became longer. They came with tablets in hand and was able to check people in and out very fast. The young gentleman assisting me was very professional and handsome, I might say. He explained everything in detail and even found a reservation for the vehicle with my name listed. As I got outside I literally walked past the vehicle he picked out for me. It was a Dodge Charger. I'm coming from driving a Jeep and sitting up higher, so it was a small adjustment for me. I mentioned it to him and he went over some of the cool features with the Charger. He seemed very excited about this car. If I could give -5 stars I would. This has been the worst rental experience I have ever had! My vehicle was rented by my insurance company while my car was being repaired. I gave Enterprise all of my contact information, that is noted on the contract with them. Well this morning I wake up to my rental car being towed away! I call the branch and they claim they have been trying to contact me. I asked them to give me the number they have been calling, which turns out is not my number! I advised them they had been calling the wrong number and the correct number is on the contract. The manager claimed she did not have it and it wasn't their fault. The manager was rude and never took responsibility for her mistake because I clearly have the signed contract with all the correct info. I contacted my insurance who then took care of it but I will never rent from this branch again and advise everyone to steer clear of this branch. Horrible!!!! read more

I called Car shield on 10/12/2023, who was supposed to send an email for Enterprise to contact me. Whether or not that is what you all do, I do not know. The car was due to return on 10/13/2023. My call about the rental was a day early. Your partner gave me this information. A day after the call was supposed to come from Enterprise, I received a call from you all on 10/14/2023 with an agent speaking as though I wasn't going to return the car or had no money to renew the rental agreement. It was a very unpleasant phone call. I came in the very same day to renew. My brother ,who was in the hospital at the time I initially had the rental, died the day after renewing the agreement. This is no one's fault. I called Enterprise twice since my renewal ended and it was difficult to get an answer. That's not a customer's fault either. I received an email today with the same connotation as the call I received before. I explained today when I called that I know Enterprise is a business. And that I was under the impression that my deposit was there and if I needed to renew I'd pay the cost. It was explained that the deposit has to be in place. I came in right then. The amount put in was to be for Monday return instead of Tuesday return. This was discussed also. That's not a customer's fault either. I love policy and understand that the card couldn't be run again after it was run for the wrong amount. This mistake was a critical one. This is a very difficult time as it is. I know because of your location, you all have been dealing with a certain element of people. To treat everyone like they are criminals is not good. All I am asking is that you wait until I get there in the morning to run the card. So that it doesn't run into the same problem as before. I wasn't just squaring the bill away, I was renting until next week. My funds will be in another account until I get there.... The next day & a minute after opening, I was told that they didn't have any vehicles & would call me later that afternoon. The car was left in the parking spot at Enterprise at the end of the work day just the day before, after the wrong total caused my card to decline. Not to mention the male employee asking for the keys to check something but once he received them said he couldn't allow me take the car with him. This was including a few other mistruths. In the end, I reserved a vehicle, which happened to be the same one they took back 24 hours before and the same one they claimed was unavailable earlier in the day. They called me after seeing my reservation & said at that location I couldn't rent but can rent from any other Enterprise. No compassion & rude overall. Masked by short lived customer service. The looks on 2 of their faces. One frowning while lying to me. The other frowning on a phone call where she answered simple conversations from another customer as I watched as soon as I got there. I believe this is the prevailing attitude. Any good customer service may be very short lived and unnatural. Otherwise, who would be intentionally unaccommodating at a time of someone's grief? Especially when they are a paying customer. Came in to pay. They made a mistake & behaved afterwards like I was an intentional no paying customer. They also were intentionally deceitful in their methodology. Only way they told the truth was after a new reservation was made for the same car. Then it was we just don't want to serve you. Needed a rental for a while while my vehicle was getting work done. Get a reservation over the phone at that I could use my debit card to pay. I have a out of state license being that I am active duty. Then get to the location and was told that they can only accept debit with out of state licenses if I have my orders to prove I am stationed in the area. First time using Enterprise and rented twice from them in one week! Service is outstanding and the automated iPad check in is impressive. I noticed they also have a car wash on-site. Other rental places I've experienced have to drive their vehicles to car washes while I wait. A huge plus is their drop box service. I am able to park car, drop key in mailbox, and there's someone monitoring the premises! I certainly don't have this option at its competitor. Could not get a reservation for my times and dates at the Norfolk Airport. Their website had a note that said they had nothing available try another location...So I did...I was able to make an online reservation for a compact at Norfolk Azalea Garden & Military at 3561 North Military Hwy. Norfolk, VA, 23518 They called me 1 hour and 30 minutes before my pickup. Luckily I was in between flights...But they called saying they would not have anything for my reservation, but might have something later that evening or the next day. The man was professional but I asked him if he could find anything by the time I flew in as I would still stop by...he again said they would not have anything. I said I would come by and wait. He hung up! 5 minutes later I had a call from a Lexi or Alexi(sorry couldn't hear, was boarding). But she was rude and said they would not have any cars for me. Did not even give me an option for evening or next day. Said they would not and dod not have to honor my reservation!! Then hung up! If they had the auto message like the airport Enterprise rental I would have just rented from someone else...instead they advertised lower rates than anyone in the area and did not honor their guarantee!!! Illegal business practice!! I do not recommend this rental car place at all! If they had called me the day before I may have had a chance with other more expensive rental car places who would have honored their commitment!! I needed a car for the weekend while my own car was in the shop, I called on a wensday to see what I would need to rent a car. Mind you I rented from enterprise so much in the past they sent me an email for free upgrade, amongst other mails. So after verifying everything I needed I made the reservation. I drop my car off at shop on sat an had called enterprise to come pick me up from shop, when I get there the girl says " Hi Mrs Bullock I'm xxx I talked to you on the phone" We went over a couple things then she says I need to get the insurance, I politely told her I never had to get Enterprise insurance before, she then started to make it very uncomfortable by saying she didn't "fell comfortable" renting me out a 40k without insurance, & there was no way I was leaving there with the car unless I purchased the insurance, i explained to her, this was not told to me in advance an there insurance per day was more than expected. At that point she continued to tell me how she felt about me having such an expensive car. I can tell she has done this before, because it was like I was just supposed to take it. She became very frustrated an storm to the back( there were other employees who witness everything I'm writing) an the look on their faces said to me she was 100%wrong,while she was in back a man asked if she should get the key, she nastily told him no there was no point. I was there with my child, an asked if they could take us back home since she would not honor my reservation. On my way home the enterprise driver asked me why didn't I get the car, I told him I was told, I couldn't rent without having insurance,..he then said to me he doesn't have it nor his girlfriend who does not have a car but also rents from there, I let him I had to in the past. He then suggested I go to Hertz an he drove me there (nice guy) However they were already closed being that it was Saturday. I tried calling other places but on short notice nothing was available. So me an my child had to take Uber the rest of the day which 1. Was extremely expensive since we had mutiple destinations an 2. We didn't get to do all the things that I had planned. I called Customer service an the lady, apologiz ed for the situation an told me that shouldn't have happen at all. Well a complaint was filled an NO ONE ever contacted me, I called another location about 2 weeks later to inquire an the manager at that location was very freindly she looked into an said it looks like per our notes the agent said "you didn't qualify" of course that's just a lie an I guess the higher ups just left it at that an never contacted me to see what really happened. Since I have rented from hertz no problem an also got a new car. So probably won't need enterprise in future. I choose to rent my cars from this particular Enterprise (even though it's 40 minutes from where I live) due to the stellar service provided by this staff -- in particular Joy and Phil! Joy helped me with my car rental on 2 different occasions (one of which was her 2nd day on the job) and she was incredibly friendly and helpful from start to finish. Joy was able to answer any questions I had and never hesitated to inform me about better, more cost effective way of renting my car. (She suggested I use Enterprise Plus to rack up points to use for free car rental days). Simply put, Joy provided fantastic service! Phil was AWESOME! Not only did he greet us when we arrived to drop off our rental, when we needed to rent another car, he walked us through the process (giving us the best deal) with great efficiency and genuine care. I made a reservation for a vehicle pickup online, I received confirmation via email, I called a $15 dollar Uber, I arrived at the location only to find that my confirmed car nor any other replacement vehicles were available. I was given no reason besides a shoulder shrug on why vehicles were not on site or an exact time of when vehicles would be ready. Helpless staff and annoying operation procedure. Customers should be notified if their reservations will not be honored BEFORE they arrive, like any normal person I would have made a reservation at another location and most importantly not wasted $30 in Uber fares. I confirmed a compact car through this enterprise for approximately $50/day and when I got there, I was told that they didn't have any compact cars available. The staff told me they could only do $100/day for the rentals that they had available. Staff was completely unhelpful and unsympathetic. this location is conveniently located near the norfolk international airport, not even a 5 minute drive away. we walked in hoping to get a rental for a week without a reservation. staff was super friendly and got us a car in less than 20 minutes. we were looking for a compact car, something simple to just get us around while we were in town. they didn't have any compact cars available (totally understandable since we didn't have a reservation), so they upgraded us to a standard - all for the price of compact! car was great, clean, and had a full tank of gas. the day we returned our rental, they even offered to give us a ride home - didn't accept since we already had a ride waiting for us because we didn't know they would even offer. definitely will go to this location again for a rental next time i'm in the area! read more

I made reservations on June 2, 2021 to pick up a 15 passenger van at 12pm July 21, 2021 at 3561 North Military Hwy in Norfolk, VA reservation # 2047623365. Called the morning of July 20 to confirm reservation pick-up with Derrick. At 4:50pm on July 20, Felicia called to tell me that they would not be able to honor my confirmed reservation. When I told her this was not acceptable, I made my reservation almost 2 months ago and she's calling me less than 24 hours of my reservation she hung up on me. I called to enter a complaint with Enterprise. Jasmine called on behalf Marshall Hudson. After explaining to her the same situation she tells me that they've been "catching up" on reservations that were made March-May. Why wasn't I notified in a timely manner, less than 24 hours of my scheduled pick up is unacceptable. I asked for her manager. She told me she would have Kaitly Krug (name and spelling Jasmine gave me) to call me. After several calls to customer service, It is 10:27pm on July 21 and I'm still awaiting a call from the Area Manger or Regional Manager. This is the WORST experience ever!! Every time I rent a vehicle from this location, which is 2 to 3 time per month the vehicle is never clean especially the windows, which are usually filthy inside and out, I have to clean them myself every time before driving the vehicle. I can't understand why they can't deliver a clean. read more

I was originally supposed to rent a car from the airport, however they have implemented a policy where people with Virginia licenses can not rent cars from the airport. The people at the airport disregarded my concerns for the price jump taking the car from another location, however when I arrived at this location they apologized for the mis-communication and matched my price of the original itinerary. Before this experience, I would not have considered another company. I had reserved a car at the airport, but while there, the agent swiped my card too many times and cased it to be frozen. Before I was finished, this had happened to 3 cards. After a disaster at this location, they sent me to another nearby site. It took two hours and a major headache to discover why my cards were being denied. Of course, I could not use my debit card which had extra money in the account for this trip. I finally had to call my credit card company to had my care released and the card agent arrange for the account to take the charge. However, having been sent to another location, the rental was $100 MORE than my reservation. I will definitely use another company should I need again to rent a car. read more

Can't say it was "all" this Locations fault - But they are "Franchised" - so, TWICE the 1-800# SCREWED me. #1 - I asked for a rental to be from ANYWHERE but the Airport. - Girl who made my reservation said - ok - Set me up for 2200 Norview Ave. I headed that way - - and realized - - NO! its the Airport! ( they only rent if you have a Major Credit Card or a flight...(got rid of all credit cards 2 years ago) .. NO EXCEPTION would be made from the staff over the Phone at Corporate - OR at the Airport. EVEN from their mistake. Even Stated in the COMMENTS - NO AIRPORT!! #2 - The "Supervisor" over the phone - made me another reservation - for the Next Day - at another location - - Higher rate for a Lesser day (couldn't do anything about that either) told me I needed - 1. Debit Card with at least the balance of the rental & $100.00 on it 2. Drivers License 3. A Utility Bill - within the last 30 days - without a Past Due Balance. Fine. Go to the Military Hwy Location - NOPE!!! - I Need 2 Utility Bills, Drivers License, Proof of My Car Insurance, Debit Card with Rental Fee + Security Deposit, and a Pay Stub. Well, I own my own business - Guess I could have just drafted one up real quick.. But - The biggest problem is - NOBODY at ENTERPRISE gave 2 $#its they were ruining my vacation plans with 3 other people. Renter beware! Renting a car in this area without an EZ pass will cost you. First, the employees have no idea about the Enterprise policy regarding toll roads/tunnels/bridges and rental cars. I asked employees at this location twice and was assured that this is a "simple process"- I would be billed for any toll fee with NO ADDITIONAL CHARGES. After multiple questions about the process with no clear answers, the Enterprise employee even commented to me "wow you are really concerned about this". You WILL be charged a $3.95/day fee if you go through any toll. The bill will go to Enterprise, and because Enterprise pays it and sends you a bill to pay them back, they charge you this $3.95/day "service" fee. Enterprise contracts don't specify this cost. Tolls in VA are easily paid online, but there is no option to rent a car that comes with an EZ pass. The local branch office will say they have nothing to do with this process and they cannot help you. The Enterprise collection department is rude and not helpful. They will tell you that you should have looked on their website and that Enterprise did you a favor for paying this toll for you. They basically say there is nothing you can do and by the time this notification comes in the mail, the credit card that you used to hold the car at the time of pick up has been charged. Are the Enterprise employees just not informed of this policy or did they lie to me multiple times? Whatever the case, this is a scam that Enterprise has been getting away with for years. My old Dodge truck was in the shop for repairs so I needed a vehicle for a couple days. These folks are right in my neighborhood. Have to make special mention of Ms. Chrissy Grogg, the service rep who did my paperwork. When I mentioned it was hard for me to get in and out of the newer cars (I'm over 6 feet) she put me in a nice red Jeep Liberty at the same rate quoted when I did my phone reservation. On a recent trip to the East Coast, friends suggested we give "Enterprise" a try. We did so at an office "off site" of the airport and got a rental car at less than half the price we were originally going to pay another rental service. Enterprise picked us up at our hotel within 10 minutes of our calling them. All of the staff were extremely upbeat, happy, courteous and professional. I commented to them that it seemed as though they had all taken "Happiness Tablets". I won't hesitate to use Enterprise again in the future. read more

Excellent and personable service in every respect. I especially thank the assistant manager, Kyle. Although I arrived 20 minutes before they opened, he told me to have a seat in the lobby - very welcome given the hot temps on Saturday. I rented a minivan and he walked out with me to the vehicle and folded the seats down to make certain the room was sufficient before I accepted it. (The room was superb.) He spent extra time showing me the USB port and other features on the vehicle. I made the reservation for drop off at the airport. He said if I got back before they closed on Sunday I could return it to them they would credit the drop off charge (significant savings). When I telephoned on my way back he remembered who I was without even looking up my reservation. They even provided complimentary transportation to the airport so I had no wait for a taxi (and in the vehicle I rented so no transfer of luggage).
