I didn't even know this location was here but I'm glad it is bc it's super convenient for me to my home and I've been going back and forth with insurance over damage to my car from running over a cement piece of road sticking out a few weeks ago that will eventually be VDOT's responsibility. So - I've been on vacation and now I'm back and the car isn't ready and I need a rental. I call and they tell me here my insurance has to make the reservation or I'll have to pay up front. So I have my insurance make the reservation for me and drive right over. Easy in and out and the employee who helped me was nice enough. Not especially chatty or friendly tho my fiancée and I did try.... But he did end up putting us in a nice convertible for a week so that was nice. He was super polite but clipped. Not an issue. So far so good on the rental. I'm happy to have a car and happy it's only about 7 minutes away! read more

Rented a mini van to move our son to college, ( the reservation confirmation number and everything was ) on the day of the move after we packed, they called me and told me I did not have a car. Very rude employees at General Booth. Do not rely on calling to make a reservation... they do not know nor care about your rental needs. Just a paycheck for them at this particular location. I had ubered there after going to Laskin store and they didn't have any vehicles to rent. Nobody offered me a ride to another location. They literally offered a car to the next couple that walked into door... I asked why they didn't offer me that vehicle. They said "we thought you had an Uber on the way and figured you were "okay"!!!! What??? Dumb employees!! Literally, never been so blown away with rudeness!! read more

Can't get a vehicle for 2weeks have had 13 reservations cancelled on me. Haven't gotten any response from any higher ups to resolve the situation. Horrible customer service no solution escalation dept is a joke they can't resolve anything either, need to have a better website inaccurate results from branch to branch and which in return makes the company look like a joke. There uniforms need to be clown outfits that just apologize like it solved the situation. If you use them good luck. By the time we get a rental our vehicle will be getting out of the repair shop. read more

So about 3 weeks before my trip, I reserved a 15-passenger vehicle thru USAA and they placed my reservation for this location. No problem. I was offered a nice discount, my reservation/confirmation number, and was told all I had to do was show up on the day of pickup with a credit card and my driver's license and I'll be on my way. They promised me I'd have a vehicle seeing at the time they "had a lot." Before hanging up, I asked if there was anything else I can do. Corey on the line said "nope" and wished me well. Fast forward to a week and half before my trip and something told me to call Enterprise to confirm my reservation. I called the number Corey gave me and was met with a rude fellow on the phone who seemed like he was in a rush to get me off the phone. Not an ounce of sincerity in his voice or even any sympathy when he told me "I have 6 vehicles going out the Friday the 30th and I don't have your name on a single vehicle." EXCUSE ME!? First of all, my reservation is for the 31st, and second of all, I best have my name attached to this 15-passenger van!!!! You mean to tell me, I would have showed up there on the 31st to no van and no one would have even told me!? Are you kidding me?? Yet he clearly sees my name and reservation on the screen in front of him! He didn't even offer me a solution! RUDE! I hung up and called USAA right back asking again for my reservation number and gave them a brief explanation of my prior phone call with Enterprise. They told me my name and reservation is in place and to call them back. So I did. A female answered the phone this time and she once again stated I don't have a vehicle. She stated, and I quote: "At this point I can't make a 15-passenger vehicle appear for you out of nowhere." RUDE!!!! LIVID, I tell you, I WAS LIVID! She proceeds to take down my name and number to have her manager call me back before she says to me he's already told me there's no vehicle in my name. Did the manager ever call me back!? Nope. I ended up calling USAA and complaining to them what just happened and someone in their Customer Care Dept helped me out immensely. She even located another location that had a vehicle for me and confirmed that my reservation would transfer over. She gave me their direct phone number and I was able to confirm I'd have a vehicle for my trip. This location SUCKS! Customer Service SUCKS! I'll always choose another location than the one on General Booth. If you take that risk and go against your better judgment when deciding to use this location, CALL CALL CALL! Confirm you have a vehicle otherwise, you'll get pooped on. They're incompetent and unprofessional. Worst Rental Experience, had to come back up to the rental office 3x just for them to not have the correct vehicle with me. Staff was very dissatisfying. I was in a car accident a month ago. Insurance company set up a rental car for me through Enterprise. The staff is super friendly, fast workers, and extremely professional. They didn't give me any issues. I dealt with Andrea (assistant manger) and Royal. They were very accommodating and made the whole process easy. I did have to trade in a rental for another due to the first one being purchased. Even in that case, Royal was very polite about breaking the news to me. Andrea was fast and very pleasant to work with when I was able to trade the rental car. Even with the power being out, they didn't waste any time and were still able to operate as best they could. This was the first time that I've had a rental from Enterprise. This rental was due to my car being out of service due to it getting flooded during the heavy rains from Hurricane Matthew while sitting in my driveway. After getting the rental car set up through the insurance, it took about a week for a car to be available due to the sheer number of people who were affected by the hurricane's flooding. I had gotten a call from Trey letting me know that a car was now available (it was about an hour before closing on a Saturday). Within a few minutes, I got there and finally had a rental car. The first car I had for a while was a 2016 Ford Fusion. The car worked out well for a few days until one morning when I was getting ready to leave for work, the engine wouldn't come on and there was an error message. Since it was so early in the morning, I ended up calling Enterprise's emergency road service to have the car towed (this was at about 5 am). In about an hour, the tow truck was there, got the car and took off. I didn't have a car for the day, but was able to get a second one that afternoon. This second car was a Hyundai Santa Fe. Again, it was the only car available at the time, so I ended up taking it for a few days, even though the car just stunk of cigarette smoke. When the following work week rolled around, I came back over to Enterprise on that Monday to have the car switched again. The smell was just too overwhelming. The third and final rental car I got was another 2016 Ford Fusion. This car also worked out very well, though I wasn't used to having to duck my head to get into a car. Finally, on Thursday evening, I got a message from the dealership that my car was finally ready. So, I made it to the dealership (they have an onsite Enterprise location as well), turned the car in, and finally got my own car back. The nice thing is there wasn't an additional charge for turning the car in at a different local location. Even though I went through a lot of obstacles with this rental, the staff here were just great at making it as easy as possible for me. You could tell that they genuinely cared about their customers. The only reason I had given four stars instead of five was due to the second car just being so riddled in cigarette smoke. If you are in the market for a rental car, this is definitely a great place to come get one with great service. read more

It is an ok rental place. Good for the weekends rates, but then its not that great either, because you get cars that are junk and not worth your time. I don't know if there is any car worst than the Chevy HHR, and/or any Chrysler vehicle. Well that;s all they have in inventory. Like I said its ok and the prices are not reasonable at all, other than the weekends. They do get 3 stars for their customer service which is very good. Picked up a car in my home town expecting to have an epic road trip. As I'm already halfway across the continental US, car dies. Ok, so I call customer service. Explain what was happening, super friendly. The car does start back up and drive but we can't have this happen again, safety issues right? So we get here 4 hours from where the troubles started, Norfolk Virginia. Had to drive an extra hour out of the way- that means an extra hr to get back to our destination. So 2 hours, was told that they would know the situation before we arrive. 4 hours prior to our arrival. We get here, they don't give 2.... if u get what I mean. They don't have anything comparable with what I paid for or anything to upgrade to for the inconvenience. Needless to say, never renting a vehicle with them again. Good luck to you!! read more

The Manger at this location is extremely rude, And refused to rent me the vehicle that i needed so i could make my very important out of town trip. DO NOT RENT YOUR CAR AT THIS PLACE! First they are all nice to you telling you they are too busy to bring the car to NAS Oceana. So we help them out and pick it up on General booth instead, thinking the price stays the same (Military discount). But we got that all wrong! Got overcharged then what was agreed and then they want to be rude about it and talk down to you?!? Hell no....people. I scheduled a one-way rental. Reserved a standard, but the rental place was out of them when I arrived. I was given a Toyota Corolla with 28K miles. After I drove off and the Enterprise office closed, I discovered the key fob did not work. Annoying--particularly since it was rainy--but I could work around that. Later that day, I discovered the trunk latch was broken. No external release on the trunk, no key fob access, broken trunk latch--I had no access to the trunk! And I had lots of items to pack in the car. So, they either didn't clean the trunk, or they knowingly rented a vehicle that should not have been rented...and passed off the problem to another Enterprise office to repair. I saw other vehicles on the lot so it wasn't like this was the last car they had to rent. My recommendation is to avoid this office; find another rental place. read more

I have been renting cars from Enterprise for going on 10 years and have never had a problem. Today, at the General Booth place in Virginia Beach, I was asked for so much information (e.g., supervisors name, show my bank app to demonstrate direct deposit for work paycheck, and they had to call my insurance company for deductible information). I was kept waiting for a very long time while all this was going on. I refused to give my supervisors name simply because i had never had to do that before in all these years and it didn't seem right. The clerk called her manager who was not in the office and he gave her the standard "tell the customer it's our policy". I will never use Enterprise again because of this. read more
