Edie is lovely, helpful, knowledgeable and kind. She has a great variety of yarn and fiber arts tools too. I have time and decided to come by for the knitting group. What a beautiful experience! She fired it anyhow so I could see how it turned out, but clearly stated I was not allowed to take the piece with me. I was then told I could come back and paint another piece for "free". No, not free. I already paid for it and was not taking a completed piece home with me. The first thing I noticed when I walked into her home/studio, were the many quilts adorning her walls-- all of them beautifully done. Second, she looked at my quilt and truly tried to understand the recipient (in my case: young, masculine and athletic). She then tried to help me find the right pattern, batting and color for my quilting. And they were all spot on. And the price? Oh yeah. The price was right-- and I felt like Karyn tried to help me save money at every turn. She agreed to do another quilt, the same day, for which she suggested a more personal/expensive touch. For the initial quilt? She recommended a less-expensive, all-over long-arm quilted pattern. And she even showed me how to stitch my own binding to save some money.
