I opened my eyes to a camera in my face. I had my wedding at Lake Tahoe on June 2017. When I tried to find people to do my hair and makeup, I was getting some outrageous quotes and was not excited about my options. Luckily, I came across Envee Hair Studio and Spa on Thumbtack and I was really pleased with the pricing and services offered (it was cheaper to hire them and pay for their gas to get to Tahoe than it was to hire someone in Tahoe). Contacting them was easy and pleasant. We scheduled a trial run the day before my wedding and they were so professional and friendly. Nichole did my hair and Lindsey did my makeup. They were really easy to communicate with and so it was easy for me to tell them whether I liked something or not. For Nichole, I had a reference picture of how I wanted my hair done. She did a fantastic job of giving my hair the curls and volume that I wanted (I loved how it looked with my veil and tiara). I did not have a reference for Lindsey (as I don't wear makeup often), but she did a good job of giving me a natural, but flawless look (my skin looked fantastic). On the day of my wedding, they arrived promptly and got to work. They also did the hair and makeup for my mom, two little sisters, mother-in-law, and sister-in-law. Despite having to do all those people, they got everyone done early and the results were beautiful. (I would like to mention that my sister had the worst luck of having a huge pimple on her cheek on the day of my wedding and Lindsey did a great job of covering it up!) It was obvious how nervous I was to go blonde for the first time by the entire Pinterest board I made for the occasion. Lucky for me Nicole knew exactly how to make me feel at ease and did an amazing job. She whipped up the perfect shade of blonde, gave me a deep conditioning treatment and a trim all for under $100! In addition to all that fabulousness she was super knowledgeable and up to date on hair trends/extensions, and does spray tans by hand (which I've had a hard time finding in chico). After moving to Chico almost 2 years ago I've had a hard time finding a salon and stylist I liked and wanted to frequent. I'd either get a great cut but lackluster color or leave with a serious case of sticker shock and less than happy thoughts about what I'd just paid for. I am extremely picky with my hair and she totally listens to you and tries to do exactly what you want. I had the most wonderful pedicure with Lindsey. I was feeling under the weather, but wanted to follow through on my commitment... & I wasn't disappointed. Be aware, the salon does not have the fancy massaging pedicure chairs that some places have, but she made up for it with her warmth & friendliness. Asking only for standard polish (no art or decals), I still don't think I've had a pedicure where someone was so detail-oriented. She truly aspires to give you a great experience & doesn't cut corners. & guess what? She does more than nails - facials, waxing, makeup, you name it. I sadly did not have a great experience. This is the very first time I have ever written a review. I am new to the area and was looking for a place where I could go and find someone experienced. I did not ask for anything complicated, just for my hair to be dyed my natural color. I ended up getting a color that was darker than what I asked for. I reached out to the salon and it took some time before someone got back to me. It turns out the response was written but it was sent to someone else. All I got was an oops when I spoke with Myriah who was rude and simply said she could not go back in time and that others in the salon agreed with her. For my hair to be lightened it would have to be bleached which is something I just do not want to do. As it is growing out you can see the contrast with my roots that are lighter and the rest of my hair. When you go somewhere you hope to have a good experience and that if something is off they can acknowledge your concern and not try to justify. She has been doing hair for a long time and that is why I chose her but the amount of years does not guarantee quality. I am sure there are others in the salon that do a great job but this is my experience. I will probably drive to a larger city hoping to have a better experience. read more

Melissa did such an amazing job with my brows! She took her time and was really listened to what I wanted (shape to my brows) and achieved that and and more! They are even, look very clean, and she even penciled them! Bonus: she showed me how I could fill them in on my own (since I have very minimal skills when it comes to makeup). I have been getting my hair done by Nichole for the past few years and I have nothing but good things to say about her professionalism, talent, and the salon in general. I live in Sacramento and I've come up to Nichole whenever I needed any hair services, most of the time it would be a last minute service and she would always make the time to see me. I had Nichole do my hair in red, and if anyone's gone red from dark brown before you will know that it is very hard to get it bright and to make the color last. Each time she was able to get it the perfect red and the color would last for months. I decided to try out hombre and brought in a photo of what I was looking for. She was able to match the photo exactly. I received compliment after compliment on my hair for months to follow, even from close friends that where very anti hombre. I texted Nichole this weekend to see if she would be available, I was in town for a wedding and the salon was closed today; she didn't hesitate to have me come by anyway and opened the salon just for me. This is a nice small salon and I got a really great cut and the best part is that the haircut was exactly what I asked for. Destiney really listened and worked with me. I took in about 4 pics of slightly different cuts and talked to her about what I liked about each, what my hair is like, and what I was looking for. She wasn't one of those "I know what's best" stylists. She took feedback well and now I have exactly the style I want and a no-hassle style, which is essential to me. My hair is very short, so if you're looking for someone who isn't afraid to cut it short and understands how to create a look that doesn't need a lot of fussing to make it work, I can't recommend her enough. Also--great prices. The last time I got my hair cut it was in San Francisco and I got a great cut. However, it wasn't the cut I asked for, it cost $85, and it took about 1.5 hours. Destiney knew exactly what she was doing, took a lot less time, and charged a price that wasn't painful. read more

DON'T GET YOUR EYEBROWS DONE HERE. First of all, she burned me with the wax. Then she didn't even take off the left over wax after, I had to ask her. She also didn't tweeze my eyebrows. Which I have never had a place do before everyone knows they tweeze to clean it up. It was so unprofessional I'm so disappointed. I had booked Envee Hair Studio for hair and makeup for my wedding with the trial of hair and makeup for my engagement photos. I had booked the appointment a couple months in advance and needed to change the date to a couple days later as my photographer was not available on the original date. 3 days in a row before my appointment I received 3 email confirmations but they were all for haircuts. I did not receive any phone calls the week of the appointment. The day of my hair and makeup trial I arrive at the salon and am told that the stylist is not available that day and was asked if I still wanted my scheduled haircut. I never needed a haircut, just hair and makeup for my engagement photos which were that night as well as hair and makeup for my wedding the following month. I dont know why I was booked for 3 haircuts instead of the wedding hair and makeup as originally scheduled. Since the stylist for hair or makeup was not available I was given the option for a blowout and curls, which I declined as that is not what I wanted nor what my appointment was for. I left the studio very upset as my engagement photos were that night and I then had to find another place or cancel my engagement photos. I moved out of state after covid and had traveled nearly 2000 miles and took a week off of work for pre wedding arrangements and engagement photos, so I was very upset. I did end up finding another salon and makeup artist thankfully, after calling literally every place in Chico. So my day was saved, hair, makeup, and engagement photos turned out amazing but no thanks to Envee. I do not plan on going to Envee for my wedding hair and makeup either. I am glad however, that it happened on the day of engagement photos and not on my wedding day. read more
