Our newly purchased home was completely renovated by the seller, and looked fantastic...with the exception of the backyard (I guess they ran out of money). So after moving in, we hired Environmental Landscaping to bring our front yard and backyard up to par with the rest of our new home. Miguel and his team did an amazing job, were a pleasure to work with. When choosing our contractor to renovate our yard, we researched dozens of companies, and narrowed our choices down to three to meet and interview on-site. Miguel impressed us the most with his professionalism, preparedness, and deep knowledge. He had very informative answers to all our questions, and even pushed back on some of our initial ideas--citing ways to save on costs, materials that could work better, or design choices that may be a better fit. That pushback is something we especially appreciated, and was often missing from our other two initial "sales pitch" meetings with the other contractors, who seemed to agree with whatever they thought would make us happy and sign a contract. Once we chose Miguel and his team ,work began very quickly. As new homeowners, this was our first time doing a major renovation project, and we weren't quite sure what to expect. After all, we've all heard horror stories about contractors delaying builds, stopping work halfway for weeks at a time, demanding huge additional costs/charges, etc... I assumed the project would take 2-3months, with another few weeks of added delay time (especially considering the pandemic, labor shortages, building material shortages, etc...). It turns out all our concerns were completely unwarranted... they estimated the job would be done in 6 weeks, and they were absolutely correct! Throughout the build, the entire team was incredibly responsive, with emails and text messages often answered within minutes. Any changes to the proposed timeline or schedule were fully communicated in advance, and we felt completely in the loop the entire time. If we ever had any questions or concerns, we never felt like we were being brushed off or met with radio silence. Good communication is key, and the Environmental team absolutely delivers here. As with any large renovation project, there are going to be some problems. As happy as we are with the work Environmental did, we do have a complaint about one aspect of our yard. A few weeks after our project finished, our DG (decomposed granite) pathways started showing rather large cracks. Fortunately, even though our project ended weeks prior, Miguel sent someone out to take a look the very next day. Ultimately they had a team of 3 guys come and re-work parts of the pathway within a few days. As far as the front yard goes , it looks great . We got our old cracked driveway removed and installed new diamond cut driveway. Also got our retaining walls redone with smooth stucco . The fact that we plan to hire them again for our next project for our investment property should tell you exactly how confident we are with their level of service. read more

Environmental Landscaping completed my backyard/driveway paving project, which included a 6' tall block wall. Three sets of crew work on this project which took about 10 days. First was the demo, with three members. This was an amazing trio that worked seamlessly together to break the old concrete and haul it away with Bobcat and a huge dump truck. The second crew set the block wall, which came out MUCH better than what I expected. The last crew leveled the entire driveway with sand and then laid the pavers one-by-one with an incredible pace and accuracy. They had to make cuts and adjustments to the pavers and it was a cool experience watching the transformation of the driveway/backyard with the new pavers in place. Jorge was the project manager and he communicated all the steps along the way and did a good job in keeping the project on track. I must also mention the no-pressure, make-sense, and informative approach of our estimator, Miguel, who provided our free estimate and went over it with my wife to adjust the scope as we went further into the process. Environmental Landscaping was recommended by my co-worker and I will recommend them to potential customers without any reservations. I called Miguel to see if he could come out and review my current very old sprinkler system that was not working. He was very accommodating and organized a mutually agreeable time for him to evaluate.He arrived on time and was very personable and we discuss the potential options. As my system was over 35 years old and was all galvanized he advised you could try and just replace the heads, but problems would probably keep coming up to do to the pipes probably being rusted and out of date valves.However, She left the position entirely up to me and did not try to persuade me either way. He would give me a quote for replacing the head and also the entire system. While he was here he also reviewed the sprinkler control system which he said it wasGood working order. As well as my rear garden sprinklers which again and he said were fine and did not need any work. Miguel send me a quote as discussed and I was saying I was very surprised at the price. I had two other companies come out and review my job and his price came in at over half the price of others ! Hey screw turned up on the date of greed and worked very hard in What was supposed to be a rainy day.It looked exhausted just watching them they were also very personal personable add checked to ensure everything they did was what I required. After installation they read through the control system with me to make sure timings and stations were all correct. They also checked all my rear garden sprinklers to make sure they were aligned and sprayed correctly. They even replace two without charge as they were not spraying as they should. The invoice I received was exactly as a quote sent to me originally no extras. I was expecting a little more as there were a couple of additional express their heads were installed, but no -Miguel stuck to his quote.More importantly all his work is covered by a 12 month guaranteed. Since the installation, I got to say I am pleased and impressed I thank you Miguel and the crew. The "Too Long, Didn't Read" version: These guys are not trustworthy. They lied to us multiple times. We gave them several chances to make things right, but they continued lying to us. Avoid at all costs. They are incapable of telling the truth. The robust version: Mario @ Environmental Landscaping came by to bid out our property for weekly yard maintenance. After giving us a quote he agreed not to raise the price on us shortly after service. We had to lay off our previous crew, which was an extremely difficult decision for us to make as they'd been with us for nearly a decade. However, they were no longer doing good work, so we needed to make the switch. Mario assured us his crew would be thorough, on time, and affordable. We trusted him. Over the course of 2 months we only received 2-3 decent services. The remainder were either sub-par or not on our scheduled day (and only happened because we called to remind his crew about our house). The first cleaning was good although Mario apologized for removing/killing a healthy plant and vowed to replace it the following week. To this day, he never replaced our plant. A couple weeks later Mario claimed he lost our paycheck on another job. We stopped payment on the check ($30 bank fee out of our pocket) and immediately wrote him a new check on the spot. We asked if they could do anything about the $30 fee, and it caused an enormous backlash. Then he/his crew were no-shows for the next 3 weeks. He stopped returning calls and texts from my wife. I called him from my phone (a number he likely didn't recognize) and got ahold of him. He claimed that his brother (who we had never spoken to) was the one servicing our house - which was a lie he later dropped. Then he claimed he thought his brother took over our house and was shocked to hear he hadn't been there in 3 weeks. Then said that maybe they didn't go because we asked if there was some way we could rectify the $30 bank fee we had to pay when he lost our check. I asked if he still wanted our service. He told me that he (or his brother) would be at our property to resume service that weekend. They never showed. Finally, I spoke to his brother, Miguel, who confirmed that this whole ordeal was Mario's fault. He said that Mario originally underbid our house and told him he wasn't going to do the work. Nobody relayed that information to us. They just weren't going to show up. That said, I understood what Miguel was saying and told them that if they showed up for the service (and replaced our plant they killed) after 1 month I would raise their fee to our agreed upon rate. That worked for Miguel. The problem is, that even AFTER we agreed to this, again, they never showed up. They are habitual liars. I texted Miguel to let them know we'd found someone else. He asked me if he could still swing by our house to replace the plant they ripped out because he would like to make good on that promise. Months later, I'm still waiting for the plant. I would never hire Miguel and his crew again. They are unprofessional and unreliable. Incapable of keeping promises or effective communication. I paid them $1800 up front (my mistake) to do a major cleanup of my entire property. They didn't finish despite not showing up for 3 of the days they promised to show up. They left so much mess everywhere. They came out to trim trees. The one I asked them not to trim looks completely butchered and I hope will grow back. The big tree, they left my entire back yard full of a hundred big branches because they did not have a truck to take them away. They promised to come back and take them the next day, but they didn't. When I tried calling Miguel to find out why they were a no-show, his number was disconnected, every time I called. I think he had my number blocked with a blocking service. I eventually sent an email and text and had to threaten them with a PayPal dispute to get them to come back, and even then they only cleaned up some of the branches they cut (You can see the condition they left my back yard in the photos I've posted.) They did not clean the turf in the front like promised. They did not finish trimming the shrubs in the front They did not trim the bushes in the back They butchered trees I asked them not to cut They did not clean up debris that they were hired to clean up, and left debris behind. Miguel lied and told me the fire department would fine me if I did not have all the work done he wanted to do, to try and get him to hire him. I do not live in the zone the fire department regulates for fire risk. I knew this at the time, but thought he might just not know the exact zone boundaries and the work did need to be done anyway. When we agreed on services, it was a Wednesday. He promised to have the work done by Friday. By Sunday I was threatening to dispute the payment. I did not hear back from Miguel. No calls, no text. Nothing. But they showed up unannounced on Monday morning to take one truck load of the branches. They left lots behind. But, the moment I posted this review initially, I got a call from Miguel's "disconnected" number. I didn't answer because I'm done with them. Check the pictures I've posted. read more

I discovered my irrigation system was leaking (high water bill!). Miguel and crew came out and efficiently fixed the problem. He also noticed that my trees needed trimming, which I knew as well, but was in denial. Again, the crew came out and did a beautiful job on the trees. They did most of the work without a chain saw so the experience was nice too. And it amazed me how quickly they picked up all of the debris. If I could give Miguel zero stars i would. Hired Miguel and "brother" Mario to do multiple things. First was a total property cleanup and tree trimming. Ouch. They can't trim a tree properly if they tried. They did half of the cleanup promised. We also had existing landscape plans which we asked Miguel to purchase and plant according to plan. They started the projects great.....then about week 3 didn't show when promised, and the weekly maintenance non existent. They put out the trash cans on Tuesday's. Wow. Then they asked for more money to buy product (gravel, plants etc). Promised to return the following weekend. And the weekend after. My husband started texting 4 days ago. No response.
