I showed the owner a picture of what I wanted the curls and the hairstyle to look like. I always thought it was our responsibility to tell the hairstylist instead of let them improvise. I waited almost an hour. I had to tell them the rollers were too hot. I had to tell them the timer went off. Unsurprisingly, my hair was fried. At the end, I was told to go with the wet hair so that the curls would stay. It doesn't look remotely like the picture I showed.
