Men's haircuts are $18 (without shampoo) and they offer coloring and perming services as well. Yesterday, my daughter came to visit me from Alabama and her hair was a mess. She had about 2 inches growth of gray hair and her ends really needed a trim. I called Annie, the owner, to try to get an appointment for her at the last minute. They squeeze her in for an afternoon appointment and Roy transformed her hair into a beautiful color and cut. She was so happy with it and she looked really great! I really appreciate them getting in at the last minute since they were booked straight through till Sunday. This is a wonderful Salon and if you have not tried them, you should. All of the stylist there are wonderful. No one is better than the other and they really have you looking in your best. read more

Hole in a wall type of place. If you expect it to be a luxury hair salon that pamper you with a hot towel and a head massage, this is not your place. Go somewhere else to spend your money. At Mimi you get what you come here for: quality hair services. Nothing dance but they get the job done and do it well. read more

I called on a Sunday and asked if they had same-day availability for a haircut. They got me in within 1 hour and Roy was my hair stylist. He was very quick (shampoo, conditioner, cut, style) was under 1 hour. I got in at 3pm, got out at 3:45. Roy did a head massage during the shampoo and did sooooo amazing for my haircut. I was sad about cutting my long hair, but Roy made me feel happy with my haircut! I highly recommend Roy. It was also very affordable! read more

What I asked for vs what I got , I asked for a chestnut brown .. got a black "dark brown" ... bleached the front came out red ... Treatment completed! The process: thorough shampoo, treatment application, 25-30mins steaming (love the steamer - no steam escaped in this machine), rinsing, quick blow dry. This was done about a week after my hair color/ tone/ highlight. I think Roy used tea tree mixed with a mask. End result was soft and healthier hair. Roy was friendly and I love the hair washing part too - good massage! read more

I watched the hair dresser cut two client's hair before her next appointment, she did not clean her tools at all, used the same comb, same shaver, same everything. She also did not wash her hands between clients. All of this violates Texas Health and Safety Standards (16 Texas Administrative Code, Ch. 83.102) Then, when I asked if she disinfected her tools before my husband's haircut, she got mad, complained to her coworker that I asked about proper sanitation of her tools, and said that no hair salon does that and tools are only meant to be cleaned once a day. I have attached a screenshot of the literal cosmology licensing regulations so this salon can learn that you are actually REQUIRED to clean tools, electric shavers, and hands between clients. The lack of proper hygiene and basic sanitation in this salon really grossed me out. She did use a brush to wipe the excess hair off the tools but did not sanitize. After my question, the comb was sanitized but not the electric tools. Won't be coming back and do not recommend until they learn the rules and protect their clients by using proper sanitation. read more

Great experience and care in perm and cut for my mom by Lisa and Ray did a fabulous job ion my color (to cover all my greys!) and cut. Price is very reasonable. Found my go-to hair cut place in Dallas. Mimi and the staff do a great job, taking care to cut your hair with precision and effectiveness. Price is pretty decent at $15 for men's cut. There reason why there is a long wait on weekends, consistent quality brings return customers! Minimum $20 for credit cards and go early Saturday morning or on Tuesdays for the men's haircut specials. You call also ahead if you are concerned about the wait during peak times. read more

First time visiting after seeing the reviews and rating. Definitely found a good spot that understands Asian hair. Lloyd was who cut my hair. Asked what I was wanting and explained I'm trying to grow out my hair and needed it trimmed so it could continue growing and still look good and be easy to style. Really happy with the result. Well I am not from the area but have recently been down quite a few times for weekend trips. I had been looking for a place to get a flat perm and hadn't found anyplace in my area. When I found out MiMi's was open on Sunday I jumped at the chance to get it done. The place was clean and friendly. I was greeted by my first name and didn't wait to been seen. Awful service as well as attitude. The lady cutting my hair was rude and did not like when I tried to correct her on how my hair is parted. My hair was down to my mid back and she cut off an entire foot when I asked for a trim. I have very curly hair and she completely destroyed the curls and thinned it all out. When I saw the outcome I started crying which made them more upset. I asked for a refund since it isn't what I asked for at all and the lady manager called me a free loader. I would pay twice as much if possible to undo what they did. I went from curls down to my back to wavy nonsense to my shoulders. Do not come here if you have ethnic hair. read more

Super friendly staff and owner was also very nice and social which adds an element of value in a hair cut. Was in town for business and was looking for a haircut. Found it on Yelp and gave them a try. Owner knew I wanted a last min cut so she got me in and gave me the cut. Hair cut was perfectly Way I asked and she even gave me a rinse to get the excessive hair off me. $28 for a shampoo, cut, and blow dry that looks amazing? Yes thank you. I didn't even need an appointment. I got my hair done by a little lady named Angie, I'll definitely be back. Also- there was a woman there freaking out about her hair (it looked fine). Basically she came in too late and was upset that her hair wasn't done sooner. I went to MiMi Salon for the first time yesterday and I was extremely pleased. They gave me a same-day appointment and had all the services I needed. I had Angela who was extremely polite, understanding, and did an amazing job. I had a haircut and brow wax and feel so amazing. I'm new to Texas and have had several bad experiences with other stylists and Ulta, specifically with brows, but Angela went above and beyond. NO puffiness, red, or burnt patches on my brows like Ulta leaves them. I'm extremely happy, will continue to recommended, and will be returning. Finding a hair salon open during quarantine is very difficult, but I'm so glad we found Mimi Salon! My mom and I went in this week, and everyone was very safe, nice, were wearing masks! We got our hair done by Paul, and he was amazing. He gave guidance about hair color, styling, and more, and showed pictures of other haircuts he had done (which were sooo good). My mom got a perm, hair color, and a haircut, while I got some highlights and a trim. Everything was very efficient and quick, but still very well done. We will definitely be coming back :) An extra plus is there's a Chinese BBQ and a boba shop next to the hair salon, so you can grab a drink and a bite while waiting! read more

Male pattern baldness runs in the family, so I better enjoy haircuts while I can! I've been going to Mimi's Salon since 1998 when I was a wee little boy. Ms. Judy has been cutting my hair since day 1 when my family moved here, and I've never left with a bad haircut (excluding the times I asked for Bieber hair). All of my family members go here, and I've even gotten my girlfriend to get her haircuts here. Judy is super nice and Angie and the other hair stylists are sure to give you the best haircut of your life. I wish Mimi's was put in a better location, so more people can see what they're missing out! Did I mention $10 men's haircuts on Tuesdays? Make sure and call ahead to make an appointment to avoid a wait time! Weekends can be pretty busy, but they have a nice waiting area with magazines to read. Feel free to walk 20 steps away to grab a quick dessert or boba drink located in the same shopping area! Stay beautiful y'all! read more

A few weeks ago, after reading the reviews and having been familiar with the Frederic Fekkai…read moresalons, I came for a 1" trim to my long-time, blunt-cut, medium-length (3 inches below the chin), slightly angled bob, beveled a bit underneath at the nape. It was quickly dried and styled in center or side parts, with lots of volume, lift and swing. Elegant and easy. Derek said he couldn't understand me. I should have left immediately. What I have now is an inexplicable cut, 2-5 " off, barely chin length, huge amounts of hair removed, wispy layers everywhere, and texturizing. He has activated a mass of waves and curls never seen before. From the front, the shape is a cartoonish wide diamond. From the sides, a fat wedge. This is the opposite of what is required for copious, European, fine, porous hair with a nape curl and minimal wave. Derek basically has created a White girl Afro. He somehow dried it beautifully, disguising the weird architectural structure by using a tiny brush on myriad narrow strands, drying them straight, and contorting them via elaborate manual sculpting techniques, product and nearly an hour of work. Maybe he planned to do twice-weekly blowdries on it. I have spent many days and dollars elsewhere experimenting with product, techniques and professional advice while attempting to cope. I used to go to this salon for haircut and perm for several years. Last month I went because I forgot why I stopped going for 5 years. I showed the owner a picture of what I wanted the curls and the hairstyle to look like. I always thought it was our responsibility to tell the hairstylist instead of let them improvise. I waited almost an hour. I had to tell them the rollers were too hot. I had to tell them the timer went off. Unsurprisingly, my hair was fried. At the end, I was told to go with the wet hair so that the curls would stay. It doesn't look remotely like the picture I showed. I understand the hair in the picture was styled with a lot of products, but my curls looked like I did it myself. I am never going again. I need to remember that.
