I am not sure who runs this business but it seems unprofessional. I called to get a service and emailed them they never responded to my email. When I contacted them again they changed the story and they said now they require a membership. They basically were not interested in any new business. I guess good for them. They said they are backed up and I said that's fine put me in the queue. Then they put yet another obstacle. Bad customer service. read more

Unfortunately I have nothing positive to say about this company. I spent 300 dollar, 3 weeks and got two very damaged computers from dealing with them. I asked for a refund since they did not fix but further damaged the two computers I entrusted them to fix and they said "Did you hear what I said? I will send the refund check for the desktop when I get a chance! I am done dealing with you people."They damaged the computers worse than when I gave it to them. I am utterly disgusted with this company and the incompetent people that work there. I see really uneven reviews here so I feel compelled to add one to the mix. I've had a few interactions with ePC. A small bolt on a fan in a new Dell notebook came loose (in the middle of the night) which caused the fan to seize, so I awakened to a melted hard drive. The notebook was under warranty so Dell came to my house and replaced everything. Everything. But the data. ePC did that. They couldn't completely save the day but they did a darn good job of extracting data from a melted drive and loaded it on the new one for a reasonable price, in a big hurry. They also recommended I find a back up system. Doh! The second interaction involves a very old Dell tower that was running Win XP. It belonged to my dad who had learning issues secondary to a brain tumor and radiation. No one would touch the old tower, and logic said it wasn't worth fixing. But my dad knew how to use it, enjoyed his computer and there was no chance he could learn a newer operating system. One of the gentleman had a granddad in a similar situation and understood perfectly how important this computer was to my father. He kept the old tower running for the rest of Dad's life which was a couple of years. I wasn't charged for the work performed, the computer was never kept for longer than a day, and the man offered to pick it up and/or drop it off. That was never necessary but I appreciated that at a time I was on overwhelm, help was offered. This is the kind of good deed one never forgets. It's more than customer service, it's human service. So, my interactions have been professional and personal and in both cases, ePC has come to the rescue. Thanks, guys. read more

This place is a complete and utter rip off. As an IT professional myself, I have ran into more than one client of mine who had previously used ePC Computer Solutions, all of which have gotten completely taken to the cleaners. This place will do things like sell you a computer for $500 that would have been overpriced had it been sold ten years ago. Then, when said computer acts up because of its age and the cheapness of the parts, ePC will have no problem charging you more for a temporary solution. Both clients of mine that have been ripped off by ePC are over 80 years old and completely computer illiterate. In this case, it made them easy targets to make some money off of. Most recently, I had a client earlier today that was having computer problems. Upon arriving I see the ePC sticker on the computer (which has a relatively modern black casing, as to not look old) and am told that it is only 2 years old. Immediately it becomes apparent that this system runs slower than my mothers power PC mac did in 1992. A look at the parts cleared things up a bit; what I found was a 12 year old low-end (even when it was new in 2001) Celeron CPU, 1 gb of ram, a very small harddrive, and tons of unneeded 'PC cleaning software'. This system, one that most would consider throwing away, was purchased just two years ago in 2011 for a little over $500. You don't need to be an expert to understand what type of business goes on at ePC Computer Solutions. Thinking about buying parts? Think again. The pricing at this place is stuck in 2006. You will spend as much on an old Pentium 4 as you will on a brand new core i7 elsewhere. I brought my 13 inch Macbook Pro for a battery removal and it was removed in less than 15 minutes all for a great price. I was told from the Apple Store, Geek squad, and other repair companies that they could not remove my battery because one of the screws was damaged and it needed to be drilled out. ePC Computer Solutions, Inc fixed it in 15 minutes. I am one happy customer! Great customer service, friendly and efficient. I definitely recommend this place for quick and easy laptop repairs. read more

Took my desktop in this morning after spending over two hours troubleshooting it at home. Sean was very helpful, got it hooked up and walked me through what he was doing and why. We eliminated a few possibilities and he made an adjustment that got the PC back on track. Have been going for four or five years now, always have gotten really good service and treatment. I got invaded by a myriad of worms, spiders, viruses and Trojans, Jessie from ePC came to my rescue! I am a disabled shut-in and couldn't go to the store. I needed help NOW! Jessie cleaned my HD and reinstalled all my files - clean as a whistle. A few days later, it bombed again, another problem, so he hand delivered it to me corrected. I am house-bound, so Jessie went out of his way to home delver and set up all the corrected computer and give me a tour of the fixes. Marvelous! read more

Great customer service!! Brought my broken laptop in to see if my documents and pictures could be retrieved. Already knew my laptop was not worth fixing. Hasan was very helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. Went back the next day and picked up my external enclosure with everything on it at a reasonable price. My laptop was running slowly and not connecting to wifi, I was about to leave on a business trip, and Hasan was able to help me out immediately and fix the internet functionality right away, but suggested that I follow up after my trip and he could spend more time to get the computer up and running as good as new. ePC's pricing was very reasonable, and they did a great job fixing my computer on time-sensitive basis. I was very impressed by the customer service and competence of Hasan and the other employees with whom I interacted. read more

I just had a great experience with EPC - and this was, admittedly, after they goofed a little on an earlier repair. About a month ago, I brought my ASUS laptop in with a cracked screen (dropped it.) I was prepared to be told it was beyond hope. However, they diagnosed that it was not the screen, but the (touch) screen *cover*, which was making the cursor go crazy. I had to leave the computer for about a week - however, they got the part (which two other shops - thinking it was the whole screen that needed replacing - had told me they could not get), and did the repair for a reasonable price. ($150 as opposed to $400 at Best Buy where I had purchased it. I could have gotten a new machine for less than that.) However, it was obvious that there had been a little problem reattaching the keyboard element to the screen. The first repair person told me as much when I picked it up. I couldn't quite close the laptop properly (it had to be popped into place) and eventually, the power-on button got recessed and inaccessible. True, both I and the initial repair person had chosen to kind of pass this off as no big deal. But it got to be a big deal, and I couldn't use the computer at all. So today I walked in, with no phone call or appointment, explained the problem and ON THE SPOT, on the front counter, the guy spent a half hour taking it completely apart to make it right. Removed components and innumerable screws, put everything back together to make sure things were properly aligned and fitted, and even said that it looked like a screw or two had been left out at the initial repair. He was very patient and thorough. It works like a champ. When I asked what I owed him - he refused to take anything for his time and trouble; said he was glad I had come in and they were happy to have me as a customer. So -- these people take care of business, and I recommend them! read more

I remember first buying my computer years ago from epc and have never looked back. The best part is that when you call, a live person answerrs the phone and u don't have to go through a million channels with a fear of getting disconnected. They always have what I need and if not, will work to get it. The owners realize the importance of their costomers and would definitly correct any negative experience a person might have like whoever wrote the previous review which prompted mine. I can't imagine ever going anywhere else or sending anyone anywhere else and wouldn't want to pay some random snotnosed wierdo stranger $150 just to ring the doorbell. Was skeptical after a few Google reviews were mixed, but Yelp are more accurate. Great group. Straightforward about the work that needs to be done, what it will cost, and likelihood of success. My PC crashed for unknown reasons after one of the updates, and Hasan helped me restore all the data and brought the computer back to life with Windows installed within a day. I recently brought my laptop in to ePC because they came highly recommended. They told me it would be at least a week to fix it, but called a few days later to tell me it was fixed. My first thought was nice job! It was a classic case of under promise and over deliver which I love. I picked up the laptop which seemed to be working great and I left a happy customer... Then within two weeks of getting the laptop back the battery would no longer hold a charge and the ac plug seemed to be loose as there was a flicker in the screen when I moved it. I of course took it back in to have it looked at. They called me back a few days later and told me the battery was bad. Little did they know, I already replaced the battery before I took it back to them so it couldn't be the battery. They told me they would run some more tests and get back to me. After a few more days they contacted me to tell me that the "power board" is bad and they can't find a replacement part for it. I told them I have an extended warranty and they offered to try to get it fixed under the warranty for me. The bottom line is it has been more than two weeks and they have fixed nothing. They did however send me an email offering to sell me a "heavily discounted", "re-certified by dell", at a price of $699(not very heavy a discount) replacement. The same laptop "new" from Dell goes for $748. I wasn't going to write this review until I decided to compare the price of the re-certified Dell to what a new one would cost. Call me crazy, but I'd just assume pay an extra $50 and get it new. Better yet, I can go get a "New" laptop from Costco with better/more features for less than $699. In closing, I'm not going to say that my experience was horrible, but it was very frustrating. I thought it was going fairly good until the replacement sale attempt was made. Will I do business with ePC in the future? Probably not. I will be picking up my laptop, unfixed, on Saturday 03/13/10. If ePC does something to redeem themselves when I go to pick it up, I will submit another review letting folks know what they did. read more

My experience with ePC Computer Solutions was fabulous! All the technicians and manager were very knowledgeable and accommodating. After purchasing a new computer online, I needed someone to configure 2 decktops into 1. Not only did they handle that with precision, but they also provided data back-up on their server for a minimal monthly cost. The total cost for all services was much less than I had anticipated and they continue to answer software questions at no charge. I strongly recommend this company for any computer needs. My laptop was completely non-functional when I took in to them last week. They diagnosed it (as did I) as needing a new keyboard and fortunately nothing else (which I wasn't sure of). They also recommended cleaning up viruses and programs no longer in use. Bottom line---my computer now runs faster than it has for a couple of years, has a new keyboard and is completely functional. They were pleasant, helpful and did the job I hoped they could do. My only minor complaint was that not having a laptop for a week was a hassle. My LCD screen cracked. As a college student, I need my computer, so I freaked. I called Geek Squad at Best Buy, and the estimate to fix my laptop was more than the laptop had originally cost! A family member suggested ePC, so I said okay, and I took it in. The price? AMAZING. Why not 5 stars? They said they'd have my computer back to me by a certain date, and it was late (they're lucky I was on Spring Break, I would probably have been a bit more upset than I was). They were very quick to get my computer back to me though, and now my screen is fixed and it all works just fine :) read more

Awesome! This is about a guy named Jeff, and the amazing technician that he is. The Story: I opened up my Toshiba Satellite A205 laptop inspired by self help online guides to clean CPU fan and heat sink (bad Idea:-) that were noisy and ended up breaking a tiny plug on the motherboard that apparently powers up the laptop backlight. I took it to several repair shops in the area, including Osheas in Foster City. The person at Osheas told me that he wouldn't risk handling the job given that the job was so delicate, and suggested ePC services. At first, Jeff @ ePC services looked at it and told me that he couldnt promise anything as the copper layering had come off of the board, and there was a very tiny chance of fixing it, if any, but said he could try . The other option was to change the motherboard, but I requested him to try and he agreed. In about 90 minutes, Jeff the wonderman, called me back with the news that he had fixed it!! The best thing about him was there were no false promises to get my business. Kudos for that! (You'd agree that it is so annoying when repairmen promise to fix everything, but once you card is swiped, they come up with all sorts of excuses) I rate this place 5 stars and Jeff more than that. He was polite, professional, knowledgeable, and very helpful (didnt charge me the moon ,50 bucks for the soldering was really great, it saved me a ton of worries). I have taken my laptop to this shop in the past and had pretty good luck. I recently got a terrible virus which not only made my computer useless but also made a critical file that I had been working on for months suddenly disappear. Needless to say I was stressed out. I stopped by the shop on a Saturady about 1:00 and was handled by a nice young man named Christopher. He seemed thoughful and considerate and I explained the importance of reteiving my lost file. On Monday and again on Tuesday I got a courtesy call from Garrett, the technician working on it just to let me know the status. I picked the computer up on Tuesday, spoke with Garrett and checked things out right there in the shop. He was very helpful and everything worked great and there was my lost file. What a relief! They even completed the job for the low end of the quoted range. Nice surprise. Highly recommended. read more

I brought my computer to Epc because I had a broken screen (my little one stepped on it). Epc came highly recommended by a friend. They wanted $135 for a new Dell laptop screen, but I was able to purchase a pre-owned one on eBay for $65. It was repaired the same day I dropped it off for $90 labor and has worked great ever since. I am self employed, work from home and travel frequently. I am totally reliant on my computer for everything I do. I had some problems transferring data recently from one computer to another and Jesse Estrada diligently worked on my computer until everything was in perfect working order. He listened to my concerns, explained things to me in language that i could understand, and kept his committment to make sure it was working correctly.
