My laptop had charging issues due to fall damage. I brought it to a big computer store in San Mateo, they initially estimated $270 then increased to $580 as the connection of USB-c port to motherboard was damaged. I figured it was not worth fixing as a new laptop would cost close to that amount. I found Ron's contact through a web search and wanted to try (also needed to take some files back from the laptop if it was not fixable). Ron was able to identify the issue in a few days (also fixed the keyboard connection that was left disconnected presumably by the big store) for half of the other price. To reduce the motherboard cost he found a used one from eBay and additionally reduced cost by bidding low, which works perfectly.I got my laptop back in less than a week. Did I tell you the big store took about a month just to identify the issue? If you have computer issues, contact Ron, you will not be disappointed. So helpful in fixing my HP Laptop hinge... it's supposed to swing open to use like a tablet but the internal plastic parts snapped and the screen was separating from the back. I was given Ron's name by the webmaster of the school I work at. My mac was old but still worked. He replaced a few parts but was honest about how much I should spend based on the age of the machine. Ron's an expert, straight-up, experienced computer guy. He has good, clear communication, and good prices. Rather than taking your computer to a megalithic company with poor communication you're way better off going to Ron. With him I discussed the idea of upgrading my laptop to avoid slowdowns when it's starting up, or when it's synchronizing data with the cloud. I found Ron's advice to be sound. This comes from someone (me) who had both built and run a 25-user local area network (LAN) with PCs, Macs and enterprise security like a CheckPoint Software Technologies firewall. These days I prefer to have someone else handle my computer work. Ron is extremely knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with. My Windows 10 "upgrade" had turned into a disaster where I couldn't even boot my machine anymore. The machine was 8 years old so it had lots and lots of data on it (including years of pictures). Ron was very clear on the options available from the potential of getting everything working again to just recovering my data files. Ron got the machine functional again in just one day and I didn't lose any of my data. I'm a very happy camper. BTW.
