This place is disgusting... down to the walls, the black mold in the bathroom, and the repulsive employee who checked me in. Treated me as an inconvenience and was extremely rude to me. Possibly the worst hotel experience I have ever had. Staff was rude. He decided that my 13 year old was too big to count as a child so we couldn't stay after paying. Refused a refund because of his "commission" but told us we could just pay him another $60 for a blanket so my child could sleep on the floor or double the price for a room with another bed. I followed up with the hotels policy which is 2 adults per room, 1 child per room, and 1 infant per room. Staff said my daughter was too big and he wouldn't allow it. Again, I asked for a refund. I explained that I could get a refund, stay in the room I paid for, or go through a charge back with the credit card. I was told to do the charge back. I returned the key having never opened the door to the room. I took care of notifying the credit card company while my wife booked us somewhere else. After we had finished that, he came back out to say we could stay and tried to give us the key back. We declined because we had already rebooked elsewhere. He tried to argue with us that we should stay and we refused. This man was disrespectful of my child. Kept calling my daughter a "big dude" and then expected me to stay for his benefit? Absolutely not. I did try once more for a refund to avoid the extra work but was told that he called the owner and the owner said no. Contacted Expedia as well (this was a pay later reservation) and they did not get a response from the hotel when they attempted to contact them. Having read the reviews, I feel fortunate we ended up not staying. Between the mold, bugs, damage, and poor amenities in the reviews I'm glad we never opened the door. It looks like the owner always seems to have an excuse for bad reviews, so I am glad that I recorded the entire interaction. Do not stay here. Idk even where to start. This place is the NASTIEST place I have ever stayed at in my whole 52yrs!!! It smelled bad It was filthy and so nasty dirty. The guy who ran it barely speaks English and the English he does speak is so rude. When I told him that I had bloodstain sheets. He turned his head away and shut the door on me. So effing disgusting. I feel terrible. Dude working only offered them $10 bucks in compensation. Finally after arguing they got a partial refund. Like WTF. Would not recommend this place, Got there he said we are late we had reservations for the day before. My befriend literally spelled his name and the guy argued that it was the day before. Pulled out the paper to show us it said a completely different name! So we got in and our friend booked same room and did not get the same room at all! I made reservations for a concert. Because Of covid the concert was canceled. I called and requested to cancel the rooms. They never sent confirmation, so I sent an email asking for confirmation that it was canceled. I got no response. I sent another email 2 days later asking for confirmation that the room was canceled. I finally Got a response saying "all done!" When i received my bank statement i seen that they had charged me for the rooms anyway. I disputed the charge and they wrote a rude response to the credit card company saying I had plenty of time to cancel. I stayed here a couple of nights, and it was ok. The most important thing is that it was definitely clean, and the bed was comfortable. Also inexpensive! All of the rooms have air conditioning units. The thing is that apparently all of the ones on the top floor don't work properly because they are 220V units and upstairs only has 110V? But the downstairs ones are wired for 220V, so they work fine? We stayed upstairs the first night and were pretty bummed about the fact that the unit wasn't cooling the room (apparently they "work," just not as well as they should), so we got that information from the front desk, and they moved us downstairs. Weird. The air conditioning unit in the second room was in the closet, but it actually worked, so that was great! But then, in the 2nd room, if you notice from my pictures, there was an odd "do not turn off" switch that piqued my interest, but for fear of accidentally burning the place down, I didn't touch it. One of the pictures on yelp showed a hair dryer, but there wasn't a hair dryer in either room I was in. I'd have given this place 3 stars based on price / cleanliness / niceness, but the weird electrical issues knocked it down a star. read more

Bring your own blanket. They only have sheets and a super thin thing that's not really a blanket. It's 26° outside and I'm freezing as I write this review at 2:49am, having gotten no sleep. This place is very inexpensive so I worried it would be a dump - I was pleasantly surprised! Very nice! Spotlessly clean, spacious room, nice bathroom, little fridge and microwave. First time here and I do not recommend coming here again! I was traveling with a lady friend and she had to change rooms after the first night because the bed was so hard and uncomfortable, she was unable to sleep at all. When she changed rooms the owner/manger insisted on going into the room with her (all the while his eyes were all over her) which made her feel highly uncomfortable she also found it very disrespectful. He later asked this woman inappropriate questions about what she was wearing and why! This was none of his business whatsoever! It took 5 hours to heat an already frigid room. The heater worked sporadically and the bathroom was extremely cold all of the time. The cleanliness of the rooms needed a lot of improvement. Lastly half of the channels on the TV were x-rated, leaving little choice of channels. I felt the behavior of management was very inappropriate and very unprofessional. I do not recommend this motel for any reason - travel, work, leisure or other. The manager's wife however was very nice and helpful. I can only hope that she is aware of his lecherous behavior regarding female guests. Bad wi-fi reception was also a problem. read more

We just checked out of this motel. The office closes at 10pm, but we went to Watershed & decided to stay in a hotel rather than camp. We got there quite a bit later than check in time, called ahead of course to be courteous, and when we arrived, the owner was kind and more than willing to help us. Very kind and friendly. Knowing we would have an event at The Gorge nearby, we booked 2 rooms A YEAR IN ADVANCE for Labor Day weekend. I called and confirmed 3 times within that year. Once we arrive they tell us they don't have enough rooms and blamed it on Booking.com. They said Booking.com overbooked them and they had nothing to do with it. They offered to pay for us for one of the rooms at a hotel up the road. We agreed to split up and do this. Then, they guy complains that it's going to cost SO much for him to do that and he's going to lose SO much money. So, we felt bad for the guy and instead, we all crammed into one room to save HIM money. Then, we find out the next morning that the people next door to us booked THAT DAY!! We asked several more guests and they ALL had booked WAY AFTER us!! Of course THEY had to pay holiday prices, while we had booked so far in advance that it was normal rates. NOW WE UNDERSTOOD WHAT THEY DID!! They told us it was Booking.com that made the error, when in fact, THEY gave OUR rooms to the guests that would pay more! Then, they charged my credit card for all of the rooms I had originally booked that I didn't stay in!!! Every time I have tried to call he hangs up as soon as I say my name. Really?? Now I have to deal with my credit card company, Better Business Bureau, and the police! He says he is a new owner this year so if you booked before this year it may have been better, but NOT NOW!! After the Owner raised the rate from $77 to $149 per night after I made the reservation, I cancelled and the owner got mad and hung up on me. I had to fine a room in Moses Lake and the night I arrived the guy called me and asked what time I would be checking in, I reminded him I had canceled a week ago and he hung up on me again. Then I get an alert from my Amex card that he charge me anyway. I talked to Amex, they wanted the Cancellation number which I didnt get because the guy kept hanging up on me. We stayed at the Ephrata Inn in July 2011. It was rated 4 stars on another website. On arrival, the exterior was shabby, the "lobby" was closet sized, the male owner was quite rude and we were going to cancel based on his rudeness but there was a baseball tournament in town that weekend and no other rooms were available. Our room was claustrophobic, it was less than clean, there was no mattress, just a box spring and pad and only two small pillows. The bathroom was archaic and the A/C would not shut off. The continental breakfast was Costco muffins and coffee. And this cost us over $100 per night after all the taxes. I wrote a critical review to the other website and it was removed within days. I put a second one up and it too was removed. I wonder if these folks pay someone to clean their Internet reputation? read more

I stayed here 2 times. Both times for 3 nights. My boyfriend is in the military and we ended up checking out a day early last time. And checking in at 4 am this time. The owner/manager this time CAME INTO MY ROOM with his key while I was using the restroom and then tried to lie to me and tell me it was his cleaning lady. Then on the day I'm supposed to check out my boyfriend had to stay 3 hours later for drill, the manager tried to charge me a whole other night to let me check out at 2 or 3pm instead of noon. The obvious lack of respect for the military is sad. I won't ever stay here again. We were repeat customers and he wasn't willing to work with us at all. I understand charging a little more for a later check out but a whole day is ridiculous and greedy. read more

One of the worst experiences I have ever had at any business in my life. This place does not even meet the standards of a motel. We arrived around 11:00 at night after traveling 6 hours, otherwise we would have left immediately. The owner had us pay upfront for a two night stay before seeing the room. The room reeked of sewage seeping through the walls. There were signs of rodents. The beds were rock hard. They had sandwiched two flat sheets on either side of a thin blanket rather than use a normal cover with duvet. The air conditioner did not work and the windows wouldn't open. We were so uncomfortable we weren't able to sleep. When we tried to ask for a different room for the second night the manager was extremely rude. He repeated several times that only women ever complain. I asked him to please not bring our gender into this, we are doing back to back 12 hour shifts in the hospital and we just need a comfortable place to stay. He lost it on us and basically told us he is closing next week so he doesn't care what we think because we already paid. At this point we did not feel safe. We grabbed our luggage and literally ran out. Beware! Stay away from this establishment and the owner at all costs. Best Western is down the street and well worth the additional $30 a night. read more

This motel is a bit seedy and way too expensive for the poor quality. I was with a club of eight others and they all found the place rather expensive, and their rooms outdated and not kept in good shape. I requested and was told pre-booking I could get a ground floor...didn't happen. I was told the room was $86 dollars...didn't happen. The toilet in my room would not flush and there was no counter to put things on. The towels were stained and worn, the room smelled like cigarettes although it was a non smoking room. Others in my group complained about the smelly pillows to the shabby looks of the walls to the shower taps not working. The thing was, they charged us $99 dollars American (we're Canadian) and that works out to about $130 Ca dollars!!!. For the quality of this place it was a rip off. We were at the Ramada the following night in Grand Forks, Canada $103 Ca dollars, beautifully clean and presented, all the amenities you could want. I will never go back to the Ephrata Inn and do not recommend this place to anyone at all. Stay away from it. read more
