Do yourself a favor and stay far away from here. Update: Its been 24 hours since we stayed here and we are starting to have bug bites everywhere. Again... I cannot stress it enough. Do NOT stay here. The Best-western down the street looked like a Hilton in the morning in comparison.

Refused a refund because of his "commission" but told us we could just pay him another $60 for a blanket so my child could sleep on the floor or double the price for a room with another bed. I followed up with the hotels policy which is 2 adults per room, 1 child per room, and 1 infant per room. Staff said my daughter was too big and he wouldn't allow it. Again, I asked for a refund. I explained that I could get a refund, stay in the room I paid for, or go through a charge back with the credit card. I was told to do the charge back. I returned the key having never opened the door to the room. I took care of notifying the credit card company while my wife booked us somewhere else. After we had finished that, he came back out to say we could stay and tried to give us the key back. We declined because we had already rebooked elsewhere. He tried to argue with us that we should stay and we refused. This man was disrespectful of my child. Kept calling my daughter a "big dude" and then expected me to stay for his benefit? Absolutely not. I did try once more for a refund to avoid the extra work but was told that he called the owner and the owner said no. Contacted Expedia as well (this was a pay later reservation) and they did not get a response from the hotel when they attempted to contact them. Having read the reviews, I feel fortunate we ended up not staying. Between the mold, bugs, damage, and poor amenities in the reviews I'm glad we never opened the door. It looks like the owner always seems to have an excuse for bad reviews, so I am glad that I recorded the entire interaction. Do not stay here. I am 42 years old and this will be the second charge back I have ever had to do. All because a motel discriminated against my daughter and refused a refund.

They made sure all our questions were answered and we even stopped 3 of them coming back from their breaks with some inquiries and they were happy to help and came back to our room within minutes. The room itself was gorgeous. The details in the Mexico themed room were so intricate, even down to the resin decor in the counters, the chainsaw carvings and even the ceramic chili peppers on the walls. The 2 person jetted tubs and the duel headed shower were even better. The fact that they have the option to have the mineral or fresh water for the jetter tub was also pretty cool This resort is very clean, the staff is helpful and the lakeside property they have is absolutely beautiful. The exercise/gym room was also pretty stocked. Its small but the machines were new and taken care of. The 2 wooden saunas are also amazing. They have MULTIPLE hot tubs on site, which was also pretty cool. They had a fire pit (we couldn't use it due to the crazy fires) with a lot of seating that overlooks the lake. I honestly couldn't really find a negative thing to say about this place other than I wish they would put lotions in their rooms. The salt from the lake really dries your skin out....but that is kind of expected with all the salt content. TLDR; amazing, friendly and helpful staff, gorgeous views and great amenities. We will be back! Do yourself a favor and just book this place!

There's so many things to shout out but the absolute top of the list is Samantha and Josh, Samantha was so welcoming and kind and informative, she guided and helped us with every question and was so overly accommodating. Josh not only is maintaining the property beautifully but was so helpful helping us find a safe ride when we were struggling finding a way to get there. Our cabin exceeded our expectations in every way, there's sooo many incredible amenities and things to do and Samantha told us everything about the new Bio Spa and if I wasn't already excited to run back here as soon as possible I definitely am now. This will be my go to place to get away an know I will have the highest level of experience every time. Thank you for your amazing staffing and incredible resort. See you soon!

She had a friend who was with her next to the front desk with a glass of wine. That was weird. The friend didn't say hi which is why I'm assuming she was not a staff member. She looked up at us when we walked in and I had to tell her we were checking in. She walked us through the property amenities and then sent us on our way. We returned the next day to use the gym and asked to confirm my spa appointment. She confirmed the time but not whether the 90 min was confirmed (we had called previously to extend to 90 min). We went to use the gym and when we came back down she was socializing with a coworker. She only came back to the front desk once we walked up to it to ask for extra towels. We also let her know we never got an email for the spa form. She had resent it before we headed to the gym. Her response, "that's weird." The hotel can't even figure out their email system. The gym is very minimal. There is a treadmill that is broken (stuck on incline) and dirty yoga mats. No water. No towels. There is a shower. When I arrived at the spa no one was manning the front desk. My massage therapist popped in and checked me in, apologizing that there was no one at the front desk. It was only after I checked in that the front desk person showed up. My massage therapist was very good. She accommodated a 90 minute session when I mentioned I requested it but did not get it. She also went over which I appreciated. Her name is Angela. Very experienced and highly recommend. We intended to eat at their bar where we enjoyed their pizza last year. The bartender informed us that because there is a private party that the kitchen won't be open till 7pm. I replied, "that's too bad as we enjoyed the pizzas last year. The bartender said that pizzas were not available till May. I let him know last year in March there were pizzas available. He thought it was odd as he knew of it as a summer thing. This made me think they were cutting down on costs again as they don't need to fire up their pizza oven. Checked out with same front desk lady. She just looks at me. No proactive greeting. The service here is severely lacking unfortunately. It does not feel like a top notch resort. I will not be back next year and will look somewhere else for my annual weekend getaway.

The long entrance driveway take you by some of their other property types like the condos and standalone houses. Check in was a breeze and our cliffhouse (also standalone) was just a short walk from the main building. The room itself had character, but could have been maintained better. The bathroom was dark even with the lights on. Our room did come with water and a drink fridge. The bed was comfortable and the bst part was the outside deck and view that was had from there. We could see the pool and the river. I watched the sunrise from here and it was incredible. The wedding was in the event tent, which was warm and wind resistant because we had strong winds that night. The staff was super friendly and helpful. I spent some time in my friend's home on the property and they all are individually owned and have hot tubs. The whole lace is upscale, but not pretentious!
