They charged me $595 to replace the drain tube on my dishwasher. They said the high price was because of "labor," but we are talking about a hose going out from the machine and into the drain. Wrap your mind around that. I could have bought a whole new dishwasher at that price. Use them if money (or your time) is no object to you. I won't use them ever again.

Lane came out on a Friday and determined it needed to be replaced. He kept in contact with me constantly about when he would arrive and progress of his work, as I wasn't at home. Scheduled the replacement for a Tuesday morning, with the promise to do it sooner if hot water was out. He arrived early and got the work done quickly. Replaced compressor that was under warranty and it still cost $1700. First start in 2025 and no cooling at all. Was told I had no refrigerant. They said suction valve failed and things "just break" sometimes. Again suction valve was still under warranty and this estimate started with a cost of around $1200, but owner lowered to around $660 after he heard my frustration. Fine I paid and had the suction valve replaced. A month or so later when heat comes in late spring and system is barely cooling. Now I am told I have a failed TH valve. Again service manager calls and says things "just break" and he's doing his best to lower repairs to $1200. Ridiculous! When I called for the initial compressor failure I was just going to put a whole new system in but they convinced me not to because the compressor was still in warranty. Well now they have me up to just under $4000 and the system doesn't work any better. Go elsewhere and don't trust a company that thinks it's ok for things that are under warranty to just "keep breaking" before they finally fix something. AND DON'T TRUST THEIR WARRANTY!!!

I can't even get a filter in there. Secondly, a major part of it is installed upside down. It is the wrong size unit for the house and the humidity reads between 91 and 99 in this house. And if that wasn't worse, I come home every day to an 82° house because it doesn't even heat temperature. I have a daughter with multiple sclerosis who is very sick in the heat and she has been sick all summer. The owner of Clarks knows this and knows my family he now has come forth since he installed this very conveniently he decided he does not work on mobile homes and will not stand behind the unit they he installed. It's quite possible if it was and everything was the way it should be with the size of the unit. I wouldn't have this problem, but he refuses to come out and fix it or do anything to it because he no longer works on mobile it's pretty crappy. I have gotten an estimate that it will cost me about $7000 to fix it but I don't have so I will be taking all this further. Do not use Clarks and actually I see by their ratings. They don't even have a four star. They shouldn't even be in business.

However,…read moreafter an engineer friend of mine had his system replaced by Acker Heating & Cooling he couldn't say enough good things about them. I requested quotes from 2 reputable companies, (both by personal references) to replace my upstairs, (guest suite) heat pump. The other company sent out a tech, who read the numbers off my existing units and quoted a cost to replace exactly what I had. The owner, of Acker H&C came out and evaluated my entire system, asking questions of past performance of the system, etc. He sized service lines, duct work size and runs before quoting a replacement system. The following day after researching options he proposed a new system that would overcome the extensive amount of existing duct work that was limiting adequate air flow. The replacement system would be slightly larger in air tonnage and also compressor size. The work was scheduled for 2 weeks out, however we were expecting guests that weekend. Acker H&C came out before my guests arrived and got the system temporally cooling at no cost to me. The final installation was done within the day on the date promised. The service techs were all extremely polite, professional and covered every square inch of work area with drop cloths before beginning. After allowing several days to be sure everything was working as expected, the owner came out to inspect the work of his crew. It was not until this time that I made payment of any kind. As it ended up, my final invoice was less than expected and the quality of the work was impeccable.

The service guy Justin was there for about 3 hours. He was clearly aggravated. After he replaced the motor there was still no heat flowing thru the vents. He went under the house & when he came out he told me that the duct work was detached & he had fixed it. Charged me $550. Thirty minutes after he left there was still no heat flowing so my boyfriend went under the house not only was the duct work completely detached but it was lying on the ground. Spent another $110 at Lowes for new duct & fixed it ourselves. Later I removed the cover to the heat pump & found bared wires twisted together with no end caps & 2 breakers turned off. I've had my thermostat set at 76 for 8 days and the temperature has not risen above 65. Barely any heat at all. They charge a 400% mark up on the motor. I found the same one online for $95. When I called them I spoke to the owner. He refused to even come by & look at the issues even though they advertise a labor warranty. He the accused me of detaching the duct myself. He then told me that I had already paid & it was a done deal & basically told me to go f*** myself. Luckily my cell phone records. Today I began criminal procedings for verbal battery against the owner & legal procedings for fraud against the company.
