The two guys who came out where nice and respectful. However, they gave me an 8a-12p window. They called to say they would be "a little after 12" and arrived at 1, leaving me waiting for 5 hours. I used them a month before that and he was similarly 2 hours past the time window they gave. But the biggest problem is that they are ridiculously expensive, and I mean ridiculous. They charged me $595 to replace the drain tube on my dishwasher. They said the high price was because of "labor," but we are talking about a hose going out from the machine and into the drain. Wrap your mind around that. I could have bought a whole new dishwasher at that price. Use them if money (or your time) is no object to you. I won't use them ever again. read more

Left the job unfinished and damaged my ceiling. I contracted CM to install open cell spray foam in my attic. My fiberglass insulation was needing to be replaced after 17 years. Also, a family of squirrels had been in my attic and contaminated the batting. I was quoted nearly 6K to spray the foam, and was also told that it would help keep out the squirrels, which were giving my wildlife removal expert fits. CM came and sucked out the old fiberglass and installed the foam the next day. Long story short, the squirrels blasted thru the foam in all of 30 seconds(I heard the load pop as they busted thru it from my roof vent caps, and I saw it on cameras I'd placed in the attic to monitor them.) I also noticed a fairly large area that was not sprayed initially, and a small 8" or so diameter hole they missed as well. After finally and permanently expelling the rodents, I called Cm to see if they could return to fill in the 2 tiny holes the squirrels had made, and spray the square and hole they'd missed the first time. It is difficult to get in touch with anybody, and I would always play phone tag. I also noticed that my ceiling was damaged as the sheetrock was pushed inwards from the attic, presumably by a worker's shoe. I was told that they had a minimum fee to return of $1500! While I might see a fee to fix the holes made by the squirrels(tho the salesman told me the foam would keep them out), it is certainly unfair to charge for work they missed. Regardless, $1500 is outrageous to fix a tiny amount of missed foam. After arguing a little, CM sent someone to inspect the attic. I showed him the tiny hole at first, and he was incredulous, acting like I was being completely unreasonable for daring to complain about such a tiny area. That's when I showed him the much larger area that was missed. He said that they would fix all the areas, even the squirrel holes for free. He brought 2 small canisters and left them in the attic to reach room temperature, and said he would have the office call to set up the appointment to respray. Well, guess what? Two years later I still have the canisters in my attic, my ceiling is unfixed, and I bought some spray foam aerosol cans to finish the work(tho I haven't used them b/c I just haven't gotten around to it yet). One day, I will have to lug the canisters back to their office to return them, since they obviously don't care about it, or their customers. I do not recommend. read more

I've had a pm with Cool Masters for the past couple of year plus some repair work from them several times. I called their number on Friday @ 9 pm with a problem-unit not cooling-/-no response -waited till the next morning Called them Saturday at 9 am and got their remote call service. They took my info.,,, No return from Cool Masters. Called their number again at 1 pm -got their remote answering service again and had to go thru the entire info process again!!!! ... I just requested that someone just call and let me know if they were going to be able to get to me on Saturday... since I had a house full of out of state company and it was 90 degrees outside..,, Got a voicemail on Monday inquiring if I needed to make an appointment!! Their call system is horrendous -local companies need a more personal contact system I will never use them again ... read more

This company seems to be a good one from the outside. They are terribly expensive and never would get a job right on their first visit. I have dealt with them severely and each time they will never fix the problem, I will call them back out and pay another $125 for visit alone. 6 visits to my house and they have been called back for a second or third time for the same problem. They are terrible and they are very expensive. Please don't use them. Jonathan will make you believe he is the best because he knows how to deceive you as a professional in the business knowing fully well you are not very aware of the big names and process it will take. Please Please Please save yourself some money and don't use this terrible company. I dealt with them so I am speaking from a customer's point of view and not hearsay. I also told him I will review his company. Believe me, they are not the best. Jonathan Charged me $900 for a refrigerant leak on a one-ton mini-split that accommodates 4 pounds of refrigerant, I paid them and 2 weeks down the road everything leaked out. The leak wasn't repaired. Then I called them back and they said it was the coil. The company sent a new outside unit since it was under warranty I called Jonathan to install the new unit (the same exact Unit) he quoted me $750. I agreed. But I thought about it and called another company today and they only charged me $500 for the outside unit installation and refrigerant fill-up, they also tested the old unit and found out it is in perfect condition and the coil was also in perfect shape and it only leaked freon. Mind you Jonathan charged me $900 for refrigerant filling and leak repair at the flare that connects the copper wire to the outside unit. Ridiculous!!! Please don't use them. This company is not a good one. read more

Got a humidifier put in on recommendation from Jonathan. It did not work for even one day. It started leaking water in the tray under the furnace unit and blew the pump out. Jonathan comeback and made me pay for the pump and replacing it. He told me that the humidifier had issues and needed to be replaced by the company. Come next year when I needed the humidifier, he tried to upsell me to something else. DO NOT USE THESE GUYS...they will not stand behind their work. Cool Masters if nothing else was very polite -- after I called to inquire about where the technician was, nearing the end of my originally scheduled 3-hour window. I do understand that things come up and estimated times can shift. However, I waited for three hours, only to call and find out my appointment had been moved without properly notifying me. I hate to leave a critical review when no service was performed, but I just can't let it slide that I wasted three hours of a busy workday to accommodate a no-show/changed appointment that I wasn't explicitly made aware of ahead of time. read more

Our AC stopped working. We had one of the larger HVAC companies come check it out. The technician said the unit was beyond repair and we'd spend as much fixing it as we would replacing it. He then scheduled his sales guy the come out the following night and walk us through our options. Replacement sounded like the only option. I called Cool Masters to give me a quote on replacing it so I could get multiple quotes. The service manager came out thinking he was pricing a full replacement. He did his own investigation and found that the unit was only 7 years old (we purchased the house 2 years ago and weren't sure), and also found a fuse that had melted. He fixed the fuse and added some refrigerant and said that should last us another several years. I went from paying $4k to a couple hundred. Cool Masters is the best and had earned all of my business going forward, without me getting multiple quotes. read more

It isn't very often you get an education when having your a/c unit serviced. Not only did Raul walk me thru step-by-step about the performance of the unit, but why it was happening. He had a meter hooked up and he let me know how my a/c unit was producing...too, how it was not producing. I can't see ever having to call on anyone else, but Cool Masters. read more

this is the 3rd time I have called coolmasters to fix issues with my air condition. Each time they come out they charge and then up-charge a service they claim I need. This last time they replaced my capacitor for about 288 plus 100 for coming out. The tech up sold me and told me the capacitor is very good and would last at least 5 years. Less than a year it went out and when I called coolmasters they told me I had to pay 180 for their one year service to receive the warranty. Not very helpful. I went to a local shop and got a new capacitor for 55 bucks and YouTube how to fix it. DO NOT CALL THESE PEOPLE, they will always try to charge you something extra even though you dont need it. read more

Can't say enough about the service we received for our Commercial HVAC repair from Cool Masters. It was our first time using them after having issues with our prior providers. The gentleman who arrived was on-time (called ahead like they said they would) and wore a face mask (a requirement in our business). He diagnosed the issue and even offered to do all of the legwork to see if the part would be under warranty (saving hundreds). In addition, he returned that night (after hours) to replace the part and get everything up and running for the next business day. These guys were life savers, I live in NJ and needed emergency work on a job that was poorly done at my sick mothers house in Norcross. It was done completely wrong by a contractor we later learned was an unlicensed contractor who basically robbed our family out of the money (6k) and never finished the job. My mother lives alone and recovering from a cerebral stroke last November. With a few cold days in late October I was in a state of panic. I started looking for someone reputable who would be honest and save us from the disaster that was done at my mom's house. I needed a quick turnaround and was hoping not to get robbed again. I received various estimates from other places that were all over the places like Universal Heating and a few others but I never felt comfortable with what they were telling me. I almost went with Universal but luckily they took like a week to get back to me with an estimate and never seemed genuine. They really did not care about the they too seemed like they were out to to rob me as well. Just a business call for them trying to sell me things I didnt need. Cool masters were referred by a coworker of my sister in law. They immediately called, were out to see the job the next morning, called me with an assessment and seemed so honest and direct. Jonathan the owner went out to the house the following day because what was done was so bad. He was great, my mom immediately called me and said that they were so nice. They were very easy to talk to. Gave me a fair and reasonable estimate and time frame. I was not physically there so I really needed to be comfortable with who was doing the work at the house. I can go on and on at how amazing these people were and honestly think they felt so bad for our family that they did more work than was originally estimated. They were great, today I flew down after 2 weeks since the work was done and on a chilly day in Georgia 2300 sq ft home is completely comfortable temperature. I can't thank them enough for their professionalism and how much they cared about what they were doing. I have never written a review in my life and I use Yelp for everything but all I can say for the next person who is stuck in a rut and need a fair and hardworking company to do work really need to consider CoolMasters as a first option. I wouldn't even bother calling the other places they are out to get your money and the service is terrible. Give these guys a shot they will not disappoint. Completely satisfied from NJ. He explained to my bf the reason why the furnace was broken, showed the motor, explained the life of the motor (about 10 years). I then questioned the price through an email, and the owner responded as follows to MY OPINION; _______________________________________________________________________________ Mr. M, Thank you for the opportunity to serve your indoor air quality needs. To respond to your opinion, if I may- We use OEM factory parts, not aftermarket. The aftermarket parts are not an exact replacement, nor do they have the quality components OEM units contain. They typically are 2.5x the cost of an aftermarket. Also, total company overhead is calculated in our pricing system. With the oppressive heat we've experienced the last 9 days, each technician is averaging 40+ hours of overtime, which almost triples our payroll and workmans comp insurance. The pricing is adjusted weekly so we net 18% from service calls. Fuel alone is close to $1000.00 daily for a fleet these few days. It's expensive, yes - but so is the cost of operating a 24/7 HVAC company hiring top notch techs, dispatchers, installers, etc. I can offer you an aftermarket replacement board $468.00 installed. This would carry a 1 year warranty, as opposed to a lifetime warranty on OEM. Once again, my sincere apologies for your disappointment with our companies pricing. It's what we need to charge to remain a viable business. A breaker that sells for $10.88 at Home Depot was replaced at a cost of $292. This seems right up there with $10 hospital aspirin to me. One screw was left off of the breaker box cover and I had to replace it myself. I would not recommend. read more

My thermostats starting going crazy so I had to replace them. I was switching from 4 wire units to 5 wire units. After following the wire diagram to the letter I couldn't get them to power on. After an hour of frustration not being able to get a hold of the manufacture of my AC units or thermostat I found Cool Masters online. I called the number at 8:30 in the evening and a nice lady answered. I told her the issue and she said "I have just the guy that can walk you through this and get your units up and running. His name is Jonathan and I will have him call you back in minutes". Not even 5 minutes later I got a call from Jonathan who told me he knew the problem and said to grab a couple of tools and head to my attic where my AC units were. He walked me through connecting a couple wires and even offered to use facetime to show me if needed. Within 5 minutes Jonathan walked me through and had my new thermostats up and running as promised. My first experience with Cool Masters was positive. I had them provide a second opinion on my HVAC system. They were honest, timely, and professional. My only minor dissatisfaction was the cost. Perhaps because I am frugal. When I continued to have the same and or similar problem, I contacted them again. They subsequently came out to diagnose the problem. ($79.00) The thermostat was defective. Was this the original problem? I don't know. Anyway, to replace a $61.00 thermostat ( My cost), and 1 hour of labor, I was charged $329.00. I understand the cost of running a business. I understand a parts markup. But $329.00? Enjoy your vacation, new car, or whatever you choose to purchase with your insane profits.
