Granted I went on their $5 hamburger promo day, but only the classic single burger was offered without cheese or onions. (why no onions??) The rest of the burgers were full price and I find them to be relatively expensive especially for not coming with a side included. Despite not that many people being in store yet, it took 15+ minutes for the burger to come out and it wasn't even hot... Actual flavor was alright and the buns are thick and tasty. I ordered the Honey Hot chicken sandwich and thought that was just ok. It was too tangy and saucey for me, but the chicken was fried well. The fries were pretty decent too. My coworker loved his Beyond burger, sweet potato fries, and lemon ice. That's a great meal for vegetarians. I would recommend getting the sweet potato fries too! I've been meaning to write this review for a while. Went to epic burger a couple months ago. It really is only worth it when you get the extra toppings. Lotta gotta have my egg with the burger. The service is fairly fast and love their sweet potato fries. The only thing I really just don't like about the ambience. Is the amount of vagrants outside. So it's a little sketchy to get there. So delicious. The burger game is competitive lately. There are about 4 or 5 burger places that are a step up from fast food. I ordered 3 burgers, fries and sweet potato fries for a few of us. I placed my order through Yelp, which I haven't done before and was skeptical. I was pleasantly surprised that the order was place and filled seamlessly. And quickly. We were at the beach and decided to stay longer but everyone was hungry. I ordered and drove the 5 minutes and it was ready. First time epic burger. I got a double with grilled onions. They forgot them. I didn't t realize till we were already in the park with our food. It wasn't the best for sure. It was ok for a $10 burger with lettuce bun that wasn't even a lettuce wrap. It was two limp lettuce leaves under a double with cheese. Fries were ok. My husband and I got takeout from here last week and it was really good! It's right in downtown Evanston and it is a good option for quick and tasty fast food. I love the concept of the place in having more sustainable and healthy versions of burgers skipping the hormones and extra chemicals. Some things are even organic. Loved their non dairy lemon ice shake! So delicious. They have a vegan beyond burger option and a vegetarian burger of a veggie ranch burger. I got one of each to split with my dad. Both tasty. I loved the sweet potato fries. Perfect. The beyond tenders were awesome too. The organic peanut butter shake was great too. The only thing is they forgot to give me buffalo sauce for my tenders. A small thing but still a thing. I really wanted to try it. They were friendly, pretty quick and they make the shakes in front of you which is nice. For a fast food chain burger joint they are doing it right. Would love to see all organic ingredients in the future and just a touch more plant based options but they are doing better than most everyone. This is just ideal. The black angus burger is very good. We tried the fries today and liked them too. A crisp outside and not soggy inside. The Yelp delivery person stunk though. Two days in a row, they left the food on the stairs and left. Ignored my message in the order to ring the doorbell. Ignored their own policy to text or call it's there. It's Chicago in February. I went in with my friend about a week back and ordered burgers and fries, everything came out quickly and tasted great. The restaurant was clean and well-kept. The employee--presumably the manger--who took our order was great. When he brought out our food, he realized that BBQ sauce had been added to one of the burgers when we had asked for no BBQ. Although it was no big deal to us, he was extremely apologetic and offered to remake it. When we said it was fine, he brought some extra food to make up for it. Pro Tip: The Evanston location is card only, no cash! So bring plastic. Here's what I found: This location has the Beyond Meat Burger! NICE! Don't get me wrong, I'm a carnivore extreme. So carnivore, in fact, that I feel obligated to try anything attempting to pose as meat just to make sure... I have say that their spin on the Beyond Burger, (which I almost put bacon on by the way...), was as good, (better if you count calories and saturated fat!), as a regular beef burger. The guilt-free aspect of it really put me over the top, however, and I'd happily eat another at this location any time! (I'll probably get a double next time...) So, if your doctor has said you eat too much red meat, and you just can't stop craving it, this might be your solution! He didn't have to do that but, he did. And I appreciate the follow up regarding my concerns. Let me first say that I went to this same restaurant, and had a pleasant experience, I think I met the owners two days ago. Today, was a sh*t show. Ordered my food wait about 20 minutes only for my food to be given to the wrong table. The person it was given to had touched on it, and the cashier tried to bring it to my table. I had to say loudly that, I didn't want the food someone else had touched. I only get a 30 minute lunch break, and I prefer to eat where I order my food if possible. Workers with no gloves on passing out food, and not paying attention. It's sad that I had such a good experience and then came back and had a bad one. I can't say that I would spend my money here again. read more
