I usually go to this place and am pleased with the service and customer service. Today was a little different. I usually go in an get seen by a younger woman, very nice, and great at what she does. Today when i walked in i was greeted by an older female. I was indecisive of getting a 20 min or 30 minute massage, she convinced me to get a 30 minutes so i agreed. I got my massage but wasnt too satified with it. I rate it a 4/10. As i walk out to pay she asks me "Cash or card" i state "Card" she says cash better. I then explain i do not have cash so i will be paying card. She says it will be $5 extra to pay with card.. umm ok.. I wish it would have been posted somewhere. I know some places charge .50 or $1 but $5 to pay with a card is ridiculous, she charges me the extra $5 i sign my recite and as im walking out she says "TIP". i say no sorry i already paid an extra $5 that was going to be your tip. her and the older lady start speaking in chinese. I have nothing but great things to say about this business. My boyfriend and I had never gotten a massage and after doing some research on a few locations we decided on this one. I called and the person I spoke with on the phone was very friendly and assisted me in the best way possible. Upon arrival we noticed they were waiting on us and greeted us very nicely. I am really disappointed in Epic Massage... I got a 60 minute full body massage... the only thing that he massaged was my back and my calves... it was like he was scared to massage me... not hitting any pressure points... just rubbing my back and calves... oh... and my forehead... BAD BREATH!!! I think he was sick... sniffing a lot and wiping his nose on his forearms... then rubbing that snot all over me.. yuck!!!! Then... I could hear a lady come in to get a massage and brought her toddler... all the kid did was yell and run all over the place... trying to relax with a crappy massage? Ain't happening.... A live in SB but come to visit family often. I discovered Epic Massage through Yelp and saw that Rainbow was highly recommended. I've been here now over 5 times and Rainbow is excellent! I highly recommend you coming in to relax after a long drive, or treat yourself to a spa day. I bring my niece in whenever I visit and she loves it too. After my last review the business owner reached out to me. I knew I was going to give this spot another shot and am happy that I did. On a Saturday evening I scheduled an appointment less than an hour in advance and was happy to hear there was availability. I came in early and was greeted with water while I waited. The massage that followed was mind blowing. This is the second time I've had a massage from Rainbow and it was everything I hoped it would be. I wasn't going to say anything about my prior experience, but when I paid she thanked me for coming back. I was pleased that the offer that had been extended to me via Yelp was granted without me asking for it. I appreciate that kind of loyalty from a business. This is a very unbiased, honest review. I've read about this place--how to not choose the guy who works here. I went with the lady, which by the way has a very sweet personality, which is the only reason I'm giving it an extra star. Their prices are absolutely amazing; however the massaging technique she used was far from it. I know it was her best interest to try to satisfy me but even when I told her she's massaging too hard, it didn't let up. It felt like someone was grappling me, instead of a warm relaxing massage, I even tried the foot massage, it was more of someone squeezing the life out of u and you're clinched up, instead of someone who will put u to sleep in La La Land. If I were you, I would try another place, but of course give it a shot with maybe a 30 min. Massage to truly decide for yourself if this place is everything you're looking for. This is my second time coming here and I've got to tell you that this place is amazing. It's a reasonable price for a good massage and it's super relaxing. There are two things I'd like to address though. If you want the hot rocks, make a reservation! I did that the first time, compared to today where I was just a walk in. I was looking for the rocks and it didn't happen but that's okay it was still amazing. Also, environmental factors? It's about 3 in the afternoon now, and kids are out of school. I'd like to note that either the walls are thin, or that kid was really loud. There was a young child excitedly screaming either next door or out in the parking lot and I could hear it during my massage. Also, epic massage also gave me a stamp card. The last one was a foot massage in Thailand that left me in fear of massages because I was ticklish and kept tensing my foot. the old lady working with me kept slapping it while shouting "stop relax!" They did an amazing job! Tweaked my back playing basketball and also had some untreated muscle knots from lifting weights and sleeping in bad positions - I could barely move! After leaving there I felt soooooo good and relaxed, and most of the pain was completely gone! (some of it will take time, can't get rid of it all that easy!) I told her where the majority of my pain was and she made sure to target those areas well. The calming Chinese folk music was very relaxing with the massage. Worst place to get a massage ever! I'm a massage therapist and I know! My husband got me a Full body massage for our anniversary. Mind you FULL BODY! Nope. This young lady gave me a massage and only did my back and calves like another guy said in a review. Full body should've been where they turn you over and massage the front are as well as the back. She massages so hard even after I told her to lower her pressure. She must've been on my spinal cord which is a no no. Now I'm sorry on my upper back in the middle. To top of off she wasn't using much oil so my skin was rubbing and it was painful. Bad place to go. I would not recommend. Spend your money at a real spa where they know what they are doing. She had no technique what so ever. None! Oh and the debit card machine wasn't working so it took my husband a while and then he had to get cash. Red flag I guess from the beginning is when he called to make a reservation and they didn't even take any info down. The bathroom also was a mess. Had a rice cooker in there. Wtf! Had a young guy massage me- don't know his name- and he was clearly sick...constant runny nose (lots of sniffing), sweating a lot and wiping the sweat off with his forearm...while still massaging me and using those forearms, lots of deep, heavy sighs, etc. This made me feel guilty, since I like deep tissue massages and had asked him for that in the beginning (which was still not what he did). It's not a good feeling to feel like a pain in the butt when trying to RELIEVE stress and tension, and with the sighs and sweating (and a very unsatisfactory massage itself) it was impossible not to feel guilty and irritated. There was a lot of rubbing the oil around and minimal work on getting knots out. He didn't even touch my neck- which is my sorest place. The foot massage was even worse. There was clearly no actual pressure points being pressed, just nails poking in insensitive spots on the feet. And he spent about 5 mins on each foot, barely touching the arch, which is the spot that needs it the most (on anybody- not just me). On top of all that, there was a woman snoring very loudly for an hour of my...experience. Not their fault, but added to the negative experience. Definitely will not be going back. Feel like I wasted money trying to "save" on an expensive massage. read more

I was in town, read the reviews, noticed the most recent owner response trying to problem solve and thought I'd give it a shot. I had the male masseuse. He definitely still works there and all the same problems are evident. It was a terrible massage but if you're not afraid to speak up he will alter it but even with direction, it was not pleasurable. When I got back home I scrolled through ALL of the comments and realized that the owner's responses were just cut and pasted for all complaints about this guy. It seems if you're going to get a massage either ask for a female masseuse or Rainbow who has glowing reviews. I won't make that mistake twice especially after he went to the restroom mid-massage (you can hear everything), didn't wash his hands but rather used a hand sanitizer and then proceeded to massage my face. What's the best thing to do after a big lunch? yup, that's right a nice and relaxing massage. This place is very clean. The staff is very experienced. The hot stone is so relaxing and it's like stretching your muscle without actually stretching. If you have a stiff back or shoulder or neck for that matter, ask for the hot stone service and it's no extra charge. The masseur really listens to you and target the areas that you are having pains. The deep tissue massage is a killer (I mean it in a good way). Your back is so relaxed and loosened up afterwards. I feel so much lighter!
