Extremely disappointed with their bike service department. Dropped my wheels off to get an insert installed and specified which tire to put on front and back wheel. Turns out the tech never felt the need to write this down which resulted in the wrong placement. He promised me they would have it installed first thing in the morning. I called later that day and turns out somehow they messed up my cassette along the way so I will not have my bike for yet another day. This is extremely frustrating as it has canceled my riding plans for the second day in a row. Do not take your bike here for even simple service. read more

Great place to buy gear, Absolutely horrible to get work done on your GEAR!!! Went for two years in a roll to get professional wax done 1st year I paid extra to get a few things filled in on the bottom not done even the wax was horrible 2nd year same thing but this time I don't think they even put new wax on and they ask you to take your Bindings off the board every time! So for the guy to remember where the Bindings sit he wrote with a marked on my board and of course it got on the outside all the way around on my Bindings. Came here to check out winter gear (snow boots, jackets, etc) after going to Sniagrab at Sports Authority. Really liked how the place has quality stuff. Big brand names. And the layout of the store and winter items for Ski Rex were easy to find. We probably should have came when the sale started (Labor Day), but we were able to find some snow boots for the kids and some sunglasses for them. Also, what a great deal for trade ins when you get winter gear for the kids. Kids outgrow items so quickly, and you never now if your kid will stick to skiing or snowboarding. Will definitely come back later to see what they have to offer for the kiddos. What really sold me was how authentic and friendly the employees are here. This is legit the best location of this company. Havana and Yale. We've been to multiple stores and this one by far is the greatest. We do all of our shopping here for gear and they are so knowledgeable, friendly, and extremely helpful with with whatever your needs are. They even go above and beyond to help find spare parts if you need them or even squeeze you in for tune ups for important dates we've needed. They really are the best. Large and well stocked store, a find in you love to either play golf or ski/snowboard. Although the store has just about everything for the golfer, it did not have what I was and had been looking for...a wide brimmed hat that would cover both my ears and the back of my neck. These types of hats are now very popular but still this large store did not stock them. Maybe they have a deal with local dermotologists re: skin cancer and other skin diseases. Anyway, the store if filled with stuff and a golfer will have a hard time leaving without purchasing something. From what I understand they even take trade ins at certain times of the year. The array of new clubs is impressive although there are some popular brands that they do not stock and this is surprising. One never knows whether this means they had a disagreement with the distributor, they refuse to pay some kind of kick back or they just don't like the product.....all conjecture on my part. They certainly have a lot of stuff and it is fun to spend time looking around, as far as prices, I did not see much difference between Colorado Golf and Ski and other golf shops. Maybe they have specials, but so does everyone else. And with the bargains you can get on places like E Bay, stores like this are more for the things that you want immediately or that you buy on impulse. read more

The customer service has gotten so bad. We have been doing the Junior ski trade program for 12 years now. We called 3 weeks ago asking if an appointment is still needed (this started during Covid) for the Junior trade, and the person said you can have one but they also do walk in. Great. We walked in today, the place is empty. So we go to the ski area and tell the woman we want to trade out our gear. She said they are booked for the day. We said we were told we could walk in. She said well the walk ins are to be put in a list/que and those are all booked for the remainder of the day. We told her about our phone call and she said, sorry, no general walk ups, just depends on the day but you have to get put on a list and we are full. So, walk-in appointments are a lie. And the the other frustrating part is our experience the past few years is that most people who work there don't really have much knowledge about ski gear. And they take SO long to tune skis. We started taking our skis for tuning to a local place in Silverthorne and they turn it around in 1-2 days for half the price. I would avoid this place. read more

Don't understand the negative reviews. Have been to this store a few times and have found the staff to be knowledgeable and helpful. Got a used downhill ski set-up for my kiddo and they were great. Then decided I needed get some equipment. I am a lifelong Nordic and BC skier but with my kid starting to downhill wanted to be able to ski with her. My salesperson understood I was looking to spend a modest amount of $ because Nordic is more my thing. Did not try and up-sell me at all. Got a nice, affordable pair of new Salomon boots and he found a perfect set of slightly used demo skis and bindings that brought me in on budget with some nice equipment. A store's "personality" is set by the manager, and the Aurora location is no different. I had the pleasure of working with Chris a few times and he has always been excellent. Last year, I finally moved back to skiing from snowboarding the last 25 years. Know that the tech had changed so much, I read every review that I could find- all it did was make it more confusing. I needed a 1-quiver ski. Chris sat with me, determined how it would be skied and then arranged for me to demo four skis in Breck. He had them waiting at one shop and then I had a long, but awesome, day ahead of me. I tested what the experts said and found MY ski. It was the epitome of customer service. Fast forward a year and I am buying skis for my twin high school daughters. Even though I live in Lakewood, who do I call, no questions there- the Aurora store. I speak to Jeremy and talk to him for 5 min about what I'm looing to accomplish- he listens the entire time. He make a few suggestions and is going to pull 2-3 skis for them. By the time we arrive, he has set aside 5 skis and listens to the girls about their skiing style / preferences. He removed one and then spends the next 45 min walking them through the differences. They pick their favorites, and now it's on to the bindings and boots. Again, he listens and recommends. He walks our purchases to the front, helps with the credits, the discounts and ensures that we are 100% satisfied. We leave knowing that we purchased the right equipment for our skiing abilities and were not sold what he wanted. This is the epitome of a consummate sales person- one who listens, then recommends and ensures the customer is well taken care of. I have been skiing for 40 years, worked in the industry, and I cannot believe the gibberish i just received. When I asked follow-on questions I was completely dismissed. So I did what anyone spending hundreds and potentially thousands of dollars would do, I ask ed for the manager. That was enlightening. Now I know where the sales team received their stellar skills from. If you are looking for help selecting ski equipment, go somewhere else. If you need to buy a pair of socks and you know your size and color preference, this might be your place. But seriously why bother. Come on Vail - I expect more from your company. Had a pretty terrible experience with purchasing snowboarding boots here. The man I spoke to recommended me go 1 size smaller than my actual shoe size for snowboarding boots. I ended up getting the smaller boots and this guy was so very wrong. He acted like he knew what he was talking about. I wore them 2 times and my feet ended up in horrible pain; so much so that I had to go to a podiatrist. They still hurt to this day and just wanted to warn people to not listen to the salesmen in this department. This is a big store where I picked up my Epic Mountain Pass. They also used to be called Christy Sports. They have a lot of selection and a youthful rental crew to prepare skis, demos, boards, boots, etc for the Winter Holiday Season. They have a great selection of skis and also sell former demos if you don't want to pay full price. Staff seemed very helpful and knowledgeable about this. Their price to wax is more expensive than I wanted to pay, and it would have taken longer to get my gear serviced to make Opening Day, so I went to Ski Supreme and Lenny's Golf located in the same complex, instead. read more

I just took my 3 girls through SkiRex to upgrade their gear for 2017-18. I have to say that Steve, who also works for VR, was AWESOME! My girls were all over the map on the different color skis, boots etc that they wanted and he was so patient - he kept going back and looking for different combinations of colors to make them happy. My oldest got awesome one year old skis, that were not the perfect color, and Steve convinced her these skis will rock in the trees at Beaver Creek - and she is now psyched! Just left Ski Rex at Colorado Ski and Golf in Aurora, and immediately felt compelled to write a review. The deals and items they offered were great, they had quite the variety of options to choose from. However, their selection is not why I am writing this review. The service Dirk provided was phenomenal! As a beginner skier, I needed some guidance on what would work best for me. Dirk thoroughly explained the different styles of skis, boots, and bindings. I left with more knowledge of the industry and a wonderful set-up! Dirk was very patient with me but also fast and efficient, as I was in and out within an hour. I definitely recommend visiting Dirk the next time you decide to shop Ski & Golf! What I thought was going to be an extremely painful venture turned into the most pleasant experience! I came to pick up rental gear and the young girls were rude. The girl with the curly hair was not pleasant at all. I asked how her day was going and dead silence no response. Then, I was trying on the sizes of boot and she kept insisting it was a size 7 when the back of the boot said it was a 5 1/2.... and was shooting looks with the other girl about me(my friend who was with me noticed while I was testing out the fit). As a beginner it was discouraging and makes me not want to want to come back. My size was out so that sucked but somewhat understandable as it's first come first serve (which I was not aware of when booking). read more

Great place to get a tune up or a fresh coat of wax for your skis or board. Not a great place to purchase equipment if you are not familiar with what you will be buying. I stopped in before the start of the season to purchase a new pair of skis and some boots from Colorado Ski and Golf. Having heard rave reviews about their customer service and their great selection and prices, I decided to give them a shot. We waited around for a good 15 minutes, in an almost dead store, before a salesman decided we looked like we might purchase something and came over to answer some of our questions. I told him that I grew up skiing, had knee surgery a couple years ago, and was confident in getting a good pair of skis and boots to get me back into the sport (it had been about five years since I last truly skied). I will give him props for informing us that he was a snowboarder and knew a decent amount about skis, however, I should have taken this as a sign and went with a different salesman. He ended up fitting me with skis that were way too long for me, yet convinced me that the trend for newer skis was to go a little longer. I now know, that the trend is to go a little bit shorter than old standards, as the material and styles support better handling on a shorter ski. The last past couple times I have went up have been terrible because they are too long. Now on to the second half of the story: My boots. He also somehow convinced me into getting what I now know to be as racing boots. They are WAY too stiff, highly uncomfortable, and probably the most miserable things I could be wearing on my feet. I've been working on them for the better part of almost everyday to try and get them broken in, but to no avail! They still cramp my calves, kill the arches of my feet and are uber tight as their loosest setting! I have taken them in a couple times now, but also to no avail. I have purchased new orthopedic insoles at the advisement of another salesman, almost guaranteeing it would fix the problem. Sadly to report, I am now stuck in a new pair of skis that are way too long for me. A pair of racing boots that I am now confident in saying that I will never break in or get to feel comfortable. Maybe it's my fault for listening to the salesman, instead of doing some research before coming in to purchase skis, but heed my warning. Make sure you do your research and know what you are getting before coming in! It seems to be a common topic of discussion on these reviews that the salespeople are fitting people into the wrong equipment. Why two stars you ask? I will give it to them that their selection is quite vast and they have some pretty good deals if you catch them at the right time. Just don't rely on the advice of whom you would expect to know what they are talking about. read more

I have spent too much time and money here since moving to Denver this year but the deals and service are hard to beat. My kids, wife and I were outfitted during the summer Ski Rex event. I recently bought more gear and had a highly professional boot footing with Lisa but unfortunately my wide feet just wouldn't cooperate after trying the boots out. Mason then helped when I returned twice and was not only incredibly helpful in trying new tweaks to improve the fit but also brought up at least 6 other pairs to try. He is also incredibly knowledgeable about just about all things skiing. I mean boots, skis, bindings, various resorts, etc. I couldn't stump him. He was very patient with answering all my questions, the boot fittings and even ended up requesting boots from another store for me which I'm trying out soon. Melissa at the register is also very helpful as she has helped me twice and even walked from the register to show me where things are. 6 stars to the staff and selection. Thanks! read more

I think the only way I could possibly dock a star is for location...why are you so far away from me, Colorado Ski and Golf? It sorta feels like no man's land out there, but what the heck. Your service can't be beat, so it's worth the trip. Last month I purchased my first pair of skis at the Ski & Snowboard expo (woo hoo!) and got a mount voucher for $15 from COSG. After a minor setback getting them mounted just before Thanksgiving weekend because they were backed up, I stopped in Tuesday afternoon expecting to have to leave them for a week, like they had quoted me on the phone. However, the place was pretty much dead and they could get the mount done in 30 minutes. Sweet! So really not much to complain about here. At the pickup I was asking some pointed questions about care and maintenance (ie. when would I need my first tune up) and the guy offered to de-tune my skis to take some of the edge off. Awesome! Super glad he did this, but not sure if he would have done it had I not been asking lots of prodding questions? Either way, I'm happy. They seem to have a great selection of gear, but again I wasn't really shopping serious - just browsing while I was getting my bindings mounted. I'm sure I will be back this season...time to stock up on other gear! read more

I paid about $1500 for my ski's, bindings and boots from CO Ski & Golf and I feel totally ripped off. Their supposed "Performance Guarantee" is a lie. The salesman sold me bindings that were narrower than the ski width underfoot, which made them hit the edge of the ski and then the tips of the brakes were sticking way out. I didn't find out until after picking them up and getting home looking at them closer. I went back to the store 3 times (and emailed them online and of course got no response) to try to get something worked out but they just gave excuses and the last trip in they bent the brakes out so now the whole brake sticks way out and drags in the snow when on edge. This is something I would expect from a budget national chain store but not when laying out $1500 with someone who claims to have a "Performance Guarantee". read more

Even tho my first experience wasn't good, this location is really convenient to my work so I stopped by a couple of weeks ago to give them another chance and I purchased some new Obermeyer ski pants. A customer of mine had told me that if you sign up for their Preferred Customer deal online you get a $40 off coupon when you spend more than $200 so that worked out great for the ski pants. Eric V (business owner?) had responded to my initial review saying please call him to see if theres anything he could do but since I had already purchased new goggles at another store there wasn't anything to be done, plus I was content using the coupon so I didn't reach out! I was happy with my purchase and intended to update my review but decided that I would wait as I was also wanting a new ski jacket. Monday night I stopped by to look at jackets, I had already done a bunch of research and had a list of must haves for a new jacket- Powder skirt, Napoleon pocket with waterproof zipper, Pit zips with Mesh and Thumbhole gaiters on the cuffs. The girl who helped me was great and she followed me around all the jackets making suggestions and answering any questions. I settled on a Spyder Leader jacket, it was size Medium and seemed to fit pretty good. I went to Abasin today and well, the weather was brutal, it was minus 7 degrees and windy! I typically never use a hood but today I was scrambling to zip the jacket all the way up and cinch down the hood over my helmet. This is when I realized a serious problem with the jacket. When you pull the zip all the way up, it was fine in the store, but when wearing a neck gaiter, helmet with chinstrap, the neck opening isn't wide enough for my chin to be within and seeing as the collar is pretty stiff, it just dug under my chin the whole time and was very uncomfortable. I ended up just not zipping it up all the way but that kinda sucks not being able to use the jacket as intended. I swung by the store this evening and asked if there was anything that I can do but was told seeing as I had worn the jacket, there was absolutely no returns or exchanges! I asked to speak to a manager but that was him so now I am stuck with a $400 jacket thats gonna be pretty much useless when the weather turns bad. Theres nothing on the receipt about their return policy, just store credit after 30 days. No warnings about if you wear it you're screwed! I have never had an issue with any other store if I've ever had to return anything so thats it, I am done with this place! Im sitting here with over $1500 worth of CS&G receipts after new skis, pants & jacket, new boots were next on the list but not from here! Referrals are a huge part of my business and I refer plenty customers to businesses that I like all the time but CS&G will never be one of them!!! read more

Painfully disappointed! I've been skiing for about 2 months now and have gotten totally hooked. I've been renting and finally decided to pony up and get some big boy gear (boots, skis, bindings, poles). Came in eager to get all of these goodies and drop some coin!!! Alas, no one was available for 30 minutes to help me! A poor lady who was also waiting ahead of me gave me an "OMFG" look while we waited. It was brutal. I went up to the front checkout desk after 10 minutes of waiting to see if someone else was available to help, and the gal said she'd page someone out back. 20 minutes later ... nada. If I'm going to spend lots of dinero on stuff, I'd hope the store would have enough staff on hand to help out. Or at the very least acknowledge my existence (no one even walked up to say "we'll be right with you," or even "hello"). The store is large and offers a wide selection of gear --- but perhaps its staff needs more help and also some refreshers on acknowledging customers --- especially when busy. read more

I want to love you, Colorado Ski and Golf. I updated all my gear this year (and I mean all of it... skis, boots, bindings, new jacket, helmet, the whole nine) and when it came to the buying/trying on experience, things were GREAT! Unfortunately, after that, they fell short. I left my skis with them to get "set up and ready for the hill" and even showed the person working the equipment drop off my receipt and said that my sales guy told me everything should be "taken care of" (and why shouldn't it? I basically had explosive cash diarrhea all over their store). She seemed to understand and took my skis back. After about a 20 minute wait, they got everything settled and handed me a work ticket. I was charged $25, but didn't think much of it... must have been a service charge for the wax or something. A week and a half later, I received a call that my skis were done. I went and picked 'em up. Bindings were on, but shame on me for not checking the skis thoroughly. I got up to Breck for 3 days of skiing only to realize that's all they did... they put the bindings on. They didn't tune them. No wax. Nothing. Now, I'll say that, perhaps I should have been more explicit in my instructions. Maybe I should have said, "Now, can you please attach these bindings and also wax these skis and make sure the edges are tuned." But I thought that was implied when I asked to "set 'em up for the hill" and bought everything brand spanking new right out of the film wrap at their store. Am I really going to go elsewhere to get them tuned? Again, maybe it's just being nitpicky, but it really did leave a sour taste in my mouth after dropping serious amounts of cash at their store. I'll update this review when I head back in for my "free tuning". read more

This place has a great selection of ski/snowboard clothes, accessories, gear, etc. They have everything you need to be fully kitted out for slope-side fun. The staff is knowledgeable and laid back. What I really really like about this place is the no pressure sales tactics utilized by the staff here. They do not bombard you and will let you browse for hours without trying to get the CLOSE! When you have questions and you want help they are more than willing and pretty much everyone in the store is capable and friendly. They will work with you if you are shopping on a budget and not short change you on the quality of gear. They will not suggest equipment more expensive than you need and will suggest equipment equivalent to your ability level. I am in the market for some new ski boots and I know that there are some big changes coming to the market for next season. I stopped in at CS&G and after talking with a sales-clerk I learned a whole lot. After answering several of my questions the sales-clerk suggested I come back when there was a greater selection of boots. Rather than try and sell me what was on hand he suggested I come back and look at EVERYTHING that would be available in a couple of months. That was awesome. I will definitely head back to CS&G in a few months to buy a new pair of ski boots. (maybe some new snowboard boots too!) read more

I came here to buy new ski boots during the Ski Rex weekend. The place was packed, and there was hardly anywhere to park. However, once parked the service was decent given the huge amount of people there. I was looking for new boots - and unfortunately I knew nothing about brands or styles or any of that. It took about three minutes of standing around to get help, but after that I had tried on five pairs of boots, purchased one and socks, and was back in my car in about 35min. Paul (believe is his name)- helped me the next day pick out goggles. Both guys were great and offered superior expertise to REI and Christy's down the street- I went to all three to price match. Also, the selection was much more vast here then the other two. Lastly- I bought custom boots. Soren was very knowledgeable and always took care of me (even after I came in 10 times for readjustments). They never seem annoyed and really seemed to care. Went to the store to try some booties on because mine were getting old and didn't feel the greatest on my feeties.I was met by the most outgoing and helpful person to date at this store. Without saying names,cough (Rebecca) my experience was energetic and overall a blast. She was very knowledgeable with the products and process. She stood with me for almost an hour as I tried various boots of various stiffnesses. As someone who has been snowboarding almost 20 years now I typically don't accept the help of others but I was glad I made this exception. I rate this experience a 5 outta 5 but if I could extend the scale I would say 11 outta 10 or something according to Rebecca. The team at the front counters ringing people out were very personable and respectful as well. Amazzzzzing stuff out of this place keep it up. P.S the socks here are really something. read more
