I brought my bike here to get the tires worked on and to my surprise the tires and tubes are still in good condition (despite the difficulty in maintaining air). The bike tech was not able to find any holes but I still chose to have them replaced. He also did a thorough inspection of the bike and found that a tune up wasn't necessary so I totally appreciate the honesty. He was able to ready my bike the same day so service is speedy as well. Take a moment and swing by Epic this time of year and shoppers will find some good deals on winter gear and equipment. I also found some new riding gloves for half off so I couldn't say no to a sale. Lots of gear to choose from and accessories are priced just right (and by just right I mean that Epic is very much in-line with that one popular online retailer). Epic is a nice place to shop and the staff are always available and frequently offer assistance. A-ok in my book so I definitely recommend to check out Epic Mountain Gear. read more

I visited Epic Mountain Gear in Aurora for help with ski boots I bought from them a few years ago, and brought our skis for tuning. Roddy spent 45-69 minutes with me, going through options for my boots and talking through pros/cons of each. He helped solve a problem that I've dealt with for too long. He also ensured our skis were ready when we intended to head up to the mountains, which was faster than the they would have ordinarily been ready. Went in to get my son (3 yrs) fitted for boots/skis. Staff was extremely rude and unhelpful and did not explain how the program works. She brought out boots and skis and didn't say anything and I asked her how the program works and she proceeded to say "you need to pay money for us to fit the boots to the skis"? Roddy and Bradley helped with our appointment and gave great recommendations of boots, binding, and skis. They asked for our budget range and we're so respectful and receptive of our spending limits. They did not try whatsoever to upsell us on anything which was so welcoming. They made us feel at ease and we stayed within our budget and probably got $200+ worth of ski and equipment advice. I bought my bike at Bicycle Village they had an excellent staff of bike technicians plus you get free tune ups for life! During the pandemic they closed the store and moved to bike shop to the Epic Mountain Gear store. Now they have very few competent bike technicians. Every year I took it in an got the deluxe tune up with a drive train cleaning. Three out of the last four years I pick up my bike and went for a ride and the shifting was totally screwed up! Absolutely unrideable! Immediately took it back! Two out of three time they readjusted the derailer correctly. The other time they readjusted it still didn't shift correctly so I took it to another bike shop. They quickly put it on their stand and adjusted it correctly and noticed the screw that holds the cable hadn't been tightened enough! I will never go back there again! I don't care if the basic tune-up is free! not worth the trouble! It seems as though they grab a ski tech and say You're a bike tech today! Terrible bike shop! Done, done, done! read more

I met Jeremy and after about 45 minutes of him dedicating time to helping me, he likely changed my skiing ability in all facets(enjoyment, skill, performance, instructing,...) from last week going forward. You can read on but essentially any friends, clients, and family anyone that I meet on the mountain or run into in the street I am sending them to Jeremy. So here was my issue. I had my custom SF boots for a few years-- they were definitely an improvement on whatever boots I had prior. BUT for all the promise and cost, they really never solved my main problem...that about 1/2 to 2/3rds of the way through my day my foot or feet would go numb or be so painful I'd stop altogether or switch to riding. I have wide feet so spending the money with SF seemed like the best move. But I continued to experience issues. I go to Epic Mountain Sports, meet Jeremy, and life it's like a whole new experience, and I've been skiing and snowboarding for over 20 years. What's even better about my experience is that I inquired about new technology and more expensive options, but Jeremy focused on finding the best boots for me, not just the highest priced. He knew everything about the newest technology and explained it all to me, took the time to show me the different types. Let me try them on, seemingly knowing exactly which one would be the right one at the end. In the summer I like to bike, and I find their selection of bikes, accessories and service department is comparable to most other bike shops in the area. Mark Chavez is an absolute gem of a man and a world class boot fitter extraordinaire! I am the literal worst person in the world to go shoe shopping with, let alone footwear that costs several hundred dollars and determines your safety on the mountain. Mark took the time to help me try on 7 (SEVEN!) different pairs across multiple brands before identifying a nearly perfect pair of Rossi's that have completely transformed my abilities on the mountain. He even tried to save me a few bucks by letting me know they had some of the same style from the previous year, tho ultimately I bought this years. You can go to one of the so called fancier shops but you won't find someone more knowledgeable, patient, and helpful than Mark Chavez. read more

Came in a few weeks back and got my boots fitted and had a good experience. The boot fitter having expert knowledge on each boot and great explanations on the pros and cons of each boot helped me get a boot I am comfortable in, I also got skiis and bindings mounted the same day with a quick turnaround. Just came in today for a quick wax on my skiis and Rob was very helpful while also teaching me how to upkeep my skiis. Great customer service and knowledgeable employees. read more

I've been a long time customer of this epic store and it has always been the joke of their own company. Went in today to rent some boots and after renting we tried looking around the store but the manager(Julianna) would not stop yelling across the store at us saying "the check out is over here". We were planning on buying more gear but she made a point to not make us feel welcome she's was very rude and the made snarky remarks about us to the customers she was actively helping. Also the last time I rented skis here the bindings broke because they set them up for someone 200 lbs heavier than me. The epic store I brought them to in keystone gave me multiple free rentals and literally were laughing at the garbage job this store did.When talking with other epic stores they strongly recommend not coming to this specific location due to its horrible service and quality. read more

Employees find time to socialize with each other but not help customers. I recall Aurora location used to be more customer oriented and friendly. I cannot believe how poor the customer service has become here. I have enjoyed many purchases over the years and have always had a pleasant experience. This all changed today on Saturday November 12th. I paid for my bindings to be mounted and paid extra for the express service because I am planning on going up tomorrow to ski. I was told my skis would be done on Friday and I would get a text letting me know that. By Saturday I have not revived a text. So I tried calling and nobody picked up. After my 3rd attempt of calling a man picks up and puts me on hold. After 20 minutes of being on hold he just hangs up on me. I tried calling 5 more times and no response. I cannot believe that this is what this place has become. I do not get to get up to the mountains often because I am a single father. I happened to have coverage tomorrow and because of this staff i unfortunately will miss out on this rate opportunity. This is so disappointing. read more

Beware of Commissioned Sales People Sadly, what started as a nice shopping experience, shifted to a need to buy elsewhere. At first, we were greeted by a very nice, welcoming and informative greeter at the front door. We were there for my Husband and I to find Snow bibs, Snow jackets, gloves, bindings and some accessories. At first, we really enjoyed the apparel selection. Without assistance, we outfitted my Hubs first, and then went to outfit me. After finding the Bibs that fit me best, I wanted to see if maybe one of their other stores carried my size in a different color. After waiting in line to have someone call, a Sales Gal on the floor that came to talk to my Husband, offered up that they would not have stock in my size in that color, and that it only came in that size in black. Something felt off about her not trying to call, so I called myself. Alas, they had my size. After feeling misled, we opted to leave everything behind and head to the Lone Tree store. The experience was much much different. We had a Sales Gal who was relentlessly helpful, and helped us navigate the store, sizes, and had really insightful tips on making selections based on our plans for use. We ended up spending around $2,300 there. After the purchase I asked someone else if their sales people were commissioned, and found out they were. Happy we spent our money with someone who was actually earning it. read more

I received excellent service from Zack who helped me find a new pair of boots last Friday. When I walked in on late Friday around 4pm I was greeted at the front. I have found that employees do tend to talk to each other and not always ask customers if they need assistance. I started looking at the sale boots and was going to try a pair on when Zack asked if I needed assistance and mentioned that he thought the Atomics I was going to try would be way too narrow for my feet. So I bought some boots here back in January last year and was fit into a size 9. Cut to this year and after trying the boots this season, found that the boots were too big and were causing pain and numbness. Went back after finding on the website that they allowed exchanges if you tried the boots within the year or if you tried them like 3 times, which was the case. After getting the side eye from some of the employees when I tried to explain, the brought over the manager Evan. Not only was he happy to give me store credit for the mishap, he also helped fit me into the right boots. He took the time to explain what to look for and what they should feel like. He brought out several different types of boots and gave me time to try and walk around in them. Explained the details and mechanics of each boot. We even had a pleasant talk about Tortas. We rented a pair of skis for one day. Prior to getting to the store we filled out the online request which streamlined the process. Once we got there, we just had to try on our boots and we were out of the door within 10 min. They also allow us to take the skis the day prior to heading up to the mountain which made things very convenient. Good service, will definitely go back when in Denver next. read more

Being both a ski AND golf fan - this seems like the place for me. Ha! Looking to kill some time while I waited on a table at Sam's; I made my way to Colorado Ski & Golf to browse their wares. PROs: ++ They have a wide variety of items available for both snow sports and golf! I left with some sweet shades, a gopher club cover, and some awesome leggings. Score! ++ Staff is incredibly friendly! ++ They offer various services including ski/board tuning, pass sales, and more! CONs: -- Store was in a bit of disarray during my visit. I was there while they were doing a remodel and during the transition into winter sports, but it's still disappointing. -- While prices run the whole spectrum, I def felt they were on the higher side. I find myself in this area frequently and I don't see my love of either ski or golf ending anytime soon - so I know I will return! read more

I don't post reviews very often and in particular, negative reviews. However, I was frustrated with the lack of detail made available on website and then with options provided by service rep and want to help other customers avoid same situation. I tried to drop in at this location 3 weeks back for junior ski trade-in/new program and they were not able to help my 2 kiddos due to other appointments. Very understandable so I returned home and booked two 30-minute appointments for almost 2 weeks out (there were very few appointments available outside of school hours). We returned this past Wednesday night on time for 6:30 appointments. I was feeling good as there were very few customers in the store with it closing at 7pm. The rep was friendly and sized both my kiddos for boots. After doing so, he immediately shared that there were not going to be any boots available for my youngest as they were completely out of 24 or 24.5 boots. Then he had them stand up to get a feel for ski size and we also discussed their level of performance which is still beginner since they only skied a few times last season. When he returned he informed me that, unfortunately, they did not have any skis available but did have one pair of used boots for my daughter. He also shared that I could purchase new which is not happening when my kiddos are still growing like weeds and are not fully committed to skiing as their winter hobby yet. He then shared that I would need to call around to other stores to see if they had their sizes available and if not, then I could call this specific store back on a weekly basis to see if they had any new inventory. So in the end, we walked out with one pair of boots for $50. Here is my issue. There is nothing on website indicating that there may be issues with availability and that a good idea is to call ahead. Then, I found it very disappointing that as a customer, it is my job to call around to other stores to see if they have the correct sizes available. I have never experienced a situation where a customer service rep for any product, did not offer to check inventory at another location. Makes no sense to me. I would definitely recommend calling ahead and sharing shoe size and height and level of experience to see if there is available inventory and hope that it is still available when you visit. I would also recommend Epic update their website to prevent customers from coming in, only to find out they are out of stock! read more

When they're having their huge sale-- this place is great! Service is a bit hit or miss depending on who's working, but their selection of gear is pretty good. They have an amazing kids program for season long ski rentals/trade-in. Nothing beats it!!! I'll be using this service as long as my kiddos are little enough to qualify for this awesome service. Basically get a pre-owned ski package in good condition and use it for the whole season, then trade it in for a 50% credit next season. Pretty much a no brainer! Wished we lived closer (or Epic would come to the East coast). The store is huge, and the selection is great. The kids gear trade program is second-to-none! A couple years ago as we left Keystone back to the airport, we stopped in and upgraded the kids gear so we were set for the next season with gently used skis, boots, and poles for next-to-nothing price (as ski gear goes anyway). Definitely wish we were closer because at their trade-in prices you can actually trade up as they improve during the season or even if they outgrow their boots. It's worth every penny. read more

Worst rental experience I have ever had. My husband and I rented performance skis and made a reservation for them weeks ago. When we arrived, the staff informed us they had very little inventory and gave us skis and boots that were in bad shape and at least 5 years old. They told us that was all they had. They also did not have any poles for my husband's height and gave him poles 6 inches too short, being that that was all the bad in stock. When we actually went to ski, my husband's boots had such little cushion that his calves had huge goose-egg sized swollen lumps on them. We tried to swap them out at the Epic in Frisco (which they advised us to do) and that location didn't have any boots in his size so they gave him the next size up since the first ones caused him so much pain. While we were there trying to swap his boots, someone took my initial boots and brought me the wrong size (2 sizes too big) without telling me and then couldn't find the originals. We ended up having to rent boots from the ski resort we skied at because we were both in such intense pain. When we returned them, the girl behind the counter tried to say we were told to walk around the store for 10 minutes when we tried them on, which was never communicated to us at the fitting. These were the worst skis I have ever rented and significantly cut into our ski trip. They also left us with very bruised and banged up shins/ankles, seriously worse than any ski gear we have ever rented, both of us with 10+ years of skiing experiences. read more

Our experience here started off strong and then quickly went downhill. The highlights: We needed to get our boards waxed, and the team in the back took great care of us. They were friendly, and offered nice and speedy service. Then, we needed to update our bindings, so we went to the snowboard section where we met Eric, who was very kind and accommodating, and he took really great care of us. The drawbacks: After getting our boards waxed and looking at bindings, things weren't so great. Overall, the selection at this location is super limited. They don't have much to choose from to begin with, and then they're limited in sizing and availability, so it was a let-down to leave with virtually nothing, especially because we were hoping to refresh a lot of our gear. Lastly, the thing that was most disappointing was that, with the exception of the crew in the back, the customer service was lacking big time. The few team members at the front register were not friendly or helpful. Also, there was absolutely no one working in the accessory section, so I waited around for 20 minutes or so before going to someone else in a different department for some support, and even then, it wasn't the level of service I was hoping for. Sad to say that aside from getting our boards waxed here occasionally, we will not be returning. read more

This dude is a gem and every time I've gone to him for service he not only gets things done quickly, efficiently, and thoroughly, but keeps us smiling and feeling like we're getting the best service.
