You know what I hate to put this but I had a very bad experience today with my young daughter. We like this place and my daughter is a beginner skater so we skated along the outside along with clearly other beginner skaters. We are cruising along and it starts to get a little crowded toward the end and a group of guys swoop in at a fast pace almost taking out my daughter. He side swiped her and she fell and they continued to take off. I'm obviously livid. I get accidents happen but you're just skating like an ass at this point. A member of the group gets my attention noticing my daughter was almost taken out bad by one of his friends. I'm trying to find the guy who did it to confront him. I see him and attempt to talk to him saying he almost took out my daughter and all he has to say to me is I did not touch her I "almost" hit her. TF so you acknowledge you skated like a complete asshole by her causing her to fall and all you can say is you did not hit her you almost did. Not saying any kind of apology, absolutely nothing. I'm continuing to tell him there are clearly other kids out here and they need to be mindful. He repeatedly kept saying "I'm a daily here" ok cool wtf is that supposed to mean I don't care if your a daily or it's your first time. Does that give you a pass to skate however you want taking out whoever you want? Like he had no remorse at all whatsoever. Recognizing I'm not going to get anywhere with him at this point, I located the manager to try and explain what happened. She asked me to point them out and I did and she went off to speak to them. I'm not sure what came out of it if anything. I went to go play arcade games with my daughter since she needed a break from the rink since she got scared by aggressive late teen/ early adult males skating without any regard for safety. So all I noticed was they were off the rink for a bit not sure if they got kicked off for a bit or not because they ended up back on. I don't know if this is how the "dailies" treat other customers but it's NOT SAFE and it's not fun anymore. No respect for others or kids trying to learn how to skate. This is open skate all levels should be respected. If it's cool for epic rollertainment to keep letting "aggressive dailies" run around the rink like that with no disciplinary action then it's sucks to say I'm not going to come back. It's not worth it. I get it we can't control other peoples actions but he's obviously a regular and I'm going to assume this is probably not the first time something similar has happened. I will take my business to places who value safety and respect of all patrons, not just "dailies." read more

We were looking for a fun event for our guests during our wedding weekend in May 2023 and we stumbled upon Epic Rollertainment's party packages. Shauna was super flexible and responsive during our planning phase. She really helped put together the best custom package for our needs. I had my daughters birthday party here, I thought it was very overpriced. I had to pay for adults who were not skating and just there watching there children. They justify the cost with "we have something for everyone" but so does Pins n Pockets and they dont charge per person. My daughter did have a great time, if you have a smaller party it won't be so costly. We won't be back. read more

This is a follow up review regarding the water bottle that was filled with tap water. Shauna, The water bottle with the tap water was discussed with and replaced by the gal who sold us the water to begin with. She agreed that this was a problem and was shocked by the smell of the water. It was very clearly tap water. I was there on Thursday Feb 3rd. Please speak with your employee who was working that night. You should have talked with them before coming on Yelp and calling me a liar. read more

My family and I came here on Saturday and we were told we are not allowed to bring a baby's water bottle in. We were told by one of the employees to dump it out and use the water fountain, my husband explained that the water was specific for the baby being that babies cannot have just any water, the employee proceeded to tell us to leave the water bottle in the car. Even though you guys have water bottles for sale that water is way too cold to use for a baby, I think you guys need to change this policy when it comes to babies. There is no one monitoring other people, I saw multiple bring in their own water bottles for their children but for us, we had to take our child's water into the car and we weren't able to have water for him to drink. read more

I brought my daughter here for some mother daughter bonding and was extremely disappointed! The skates and blades smell horrible! I could literally smell the blades that were laying on the floor while I was sitting on the bench through my mask! I knew I should have purchased and brought my own but I had no idea it would be this disgusting! My daughter and I were excited to skate together but we couldn't last long due to how grossed out we were. I truly hope we don't Develop athletes feet from here. If you're a beginner this isn't the place for you. We managed to do a couple laps but the rink was over crowded and some people didn't care and were skating recklessly. As far as the music, this set the tone! They played all The jams! Old and some new, which is the reason for the 3 stars. Once we purchase our own skates I'm sure we might come back. read more

So, my wife and I hadn't roller skated since we were kids and as we're in our 40's now, I thought maybe we should show up for lessons. So we go, never been to Epic before mind you and it was filled with kids! lol So we're like, nah, we're not going to subject ourselves to ridicule and thorough embarrassment from all the kids and moms laughing, We'll wing it! I have skated here multiple times in 2022 and was very pleased with the service and rules. I came today first time in 2023 and they have changed so many rules including you are no longer allowed to bring WATER into their establishmen. How much is the water inside to buy 3.50 for small bottles of water and no option to get a cup of water. they have 2 water fountains but in todays world it is not very safe to use public drinking fountain. This rule makes ZERO sense as we are exercising in the form of roller skating water is very important. this was also the first time I had multiple employees act annoyed and unhappy to assist. I am not sure how often we will be returning now. read more

Charging parents to sit in here to supervise is not ok. I had to pay $11 for myself to bring my kids here. I can't skate due to a recent back injury... sitting at a table a worker comes by and says my kids can't have water bottles here. We've bought food and drinks, paid for me to be here and we can't even have a outside water bottle. Money gouging. This seems unfair like the owners are looking for every cent and aren't here for their customers satisfaction. It's a bit disheartening because my kids love coming here but I'm not sure I can continue to support such a place. We booked the Mr. Bills Lounge for our son's 11th birthday. It includes up to 15 guests (though you can add more for a fixed price per head) only 3 kids came.... the "party hero's" that were assigned to our party, Jill and Hannah, didn't miss a beat and treated the very small party with as much excitement and energy you would expect for a full house! Jill and Hannah were outstanding! The pizza was yummy. And everything from set up to clean up was taken care of for us! Literally- just show up. I have no complaints! There is also plenty of room in the private room for parents to hang out while the kids roll. And there is a small play area for little ones on the other side of the arcade. The only critique I have; it would be nice to give the parties a heads up for when the "birthday announcement" will be. We didn't know when they were going to play the birthday kids songs. So our boys were over playing in the arcade and missed the happy birthday announcement and the first half of the birthday boys requested song. This is a super minor thing and didn't detract from the party. I will absolutely come back here for another party. read more

I am NOT going to drop off my kid to a bunch of people that I don't even know. This is nice roller rink. My daughter loves skating and insisted we try this place out while in town for vacation with family. Prices are reasonable and the staff is super friendly. They have quad and inline skates. The rink itself is nicely maintained however it's wood and you can feel it. I like that they have some "guards" skating around the rink in bright red shirts. I witnessed them helping littles who had fallen and just keeping things as safe as possible without being rude. They have lockers for rent and big bathrooms. In the back, they have a "food truck" that sells the typical fare. I see some private rooms for birthday parties as well as a large seating area by the food truck/cafe. They offer several different times all through the day for skating and even have "Adult night" this evening. Our overall experience was a 5 for cleanliness, staff friendliness and just a fun time. Highly recommend this nice little community fun spot. read more

I loved Epic. It was a fun place to go to since I was in elementary school. I'm 18 now, this place has gone so far downhill. First off, they wouldn't let my girlfriend and I bring in sealed water bottles to drink as we skated. Apparently you're not even allowed to bring in water. Second of all, the facility was pretty gross and none of the hand sanitizers worked. The floor of the rink was so beat up you could feel the wheels shaking. On the note of those rollerskates, good luck trying to tie them. I could barely even get the shoelace in a knot let alone tight enough and secure enough to not hurt my ankles as I was skating. Not like we were skating much anyways as the "DJ" spent about 45 minutes out of the 2 1/2 hours talking/playing non inclusive games. One that stood out was a game of "red light green light" that went on for over 20 minutes. He even ended the session on a game where only 4 people out of the like 50 that were there could participate in, he was one of the four. The "DJ" wasn't very good either. They are still playing the songs that I heard skating back in elementary school. Also out of all the modern songs he could have played he decided Karma's a Bitch by JoJo Siwa!? Some of the music videos were so inappropriate we were surprised they would even play that with children in the room. Lastly, we saw workers yelling at people unnecessarily. The only good thing about this place is the french fries because they do give you a lot, they are seasoned well, and they are fresh. We came out here for a family Birthday Party this Sunday. The place is awesome. The kids loved all the open space including video games and a small playground for the little ones. The place is clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. The Pizza we had for the party was actually not that bad considering it's not a pizza place. The actual rink is very large, larger than normal skating rinks. I'm not from the area but if ever in the area and my daughter wanted to go skating we wouldn't hesitate coming back. But tonight will be the last night we ever come to this place. We don't appreciate getting yelled at and getting talked down to by the "rink police" because we are skating next to the wall. In a rink with about 50 people, 3 that's right, 3 regulars wanted to speed skate so we get yelled at to move out of their way. Never has this been a rule and never have I ever been told this at any skating rink in my life. When I wanted to speed skate I zig zag through people, and this is the way it's been my entire life. Never have I had the "rink police" make way for me to go fast. So this will be our final time driving 45 mins to come here and spend our money. You guys lost long time loyal customers because of 3 regulars and the shitty attitude of the little rink police girl. read more

So I dusted off the ole roller skates after 20 years! Spent several hours "rebuilding" them, but it was well worth it. Had a local rink right in town (Escondido), but it closed down many years ago, as have many other rinks in the area. An old roller buddy suggested I go to Epic after he recently skated here. So off we went on Sunday afternoon. Skates were (painfully) tight as they had not been worn for ages. However, after getting onto the rink I quickly re-broke them in and got used to the fit. OK, enough of that. I have to say that although not the largest rink on the block, it definitely sports quality as well as character. Can't say that I'm a fan of poles in the center of the rink, but the good old-fashioned wooden floor more than makes up for it. Concrete floors have their advantages, but wood is far superior. I actually got a knee injury on a concrete floor that never would happen with wood. There is a wood rink in the San Diego area, but it is much older, and it's age is reflected in the rink surface. Not to mention, it's quite small. Contrast that with the HUGE layout of Epic. The decor was pleasing as well as the vast selection of activity and snack bar. Heard the food is great from other reviewers, but didn't get a chance to try any; so guess I have to wait til next time. I could go on and on, but you get the drift. Everything easily qualified for a 4 star rating. So why did I rate 5 stars? Well, any business that honors the military is a notch above the rest. And with that, I'll be back! read more

This place is really disappointing. First off Epic is supposed to be family friendly. The music videos they play on the big screen are very inappropriate. I've seen girls in thongs with my 6 and 7 year old asking my why there are girls showing their butts. This is disturbing. Secondly, the customer service is lousy. Yesterday I took my 8 year old to skate with her friend for her birthday. I brought a gift in which the staff came and asked for the gift to be removed. They don't want parties advertised if they aren't part of their party package, in which we were not having a birthday party. We simply brought a gift with us. When we had 15 minutes left of our session I asked the woman behind the counter if the dj could do a shout out for my daughters friend. She asked me if it was her birthday and I said yes, then she asked if we paid for a birthday package through them. When I said no she told me she would not do a shout out for her. I told them that doesn't seem right but her response was, well we'd get 20 million requests a day. So what? If we're spending 60 dollars for a family of 4 and you are family friendly, what's the problem? Money. This establishment is all about the money and not the service. To top it off one of the workers ran into my daughter who is 8 and left her there, her 8 year old friend had to help her off because she hurt her knee. Epic you could be awesome but you're greedy. If you allowed people to have small parties there without your over priced packages you would have more people coming and you would make more money the right way. read more

First let me say, this is a fun place to visit. We actually come here often to skate and hang out. Today, we had gone on a whim because my son wanted to rollerblade again. We had gone a few days before NY. They had different hours where they closed at 4pm. Today, was unfortunately regular hours and didn't realize it until we had to leave only an hour into our session, and had to pay again for the 3pm session. I spoke to the manager and asked why wasn't informed that I only had 1 hour to skate when I paid. I totally understand the policy and should have verified but a simple notice by the cashier would have been nice. I would've gladly waited for the 3pm session instead. Manager even informed me that sometimes customers will come in 30 minutes before closing. I'm sure they weren't aware either! Who would pay to skate for only 30 minutes?! I wasn't expecting to get in free for the 3pm session, I was simply requesting some courtesy that customers be reminded when paying if their skating session is cut short due to the odd opening hours. The manager would not listen and just pointed to the sign at the top showing the hours. Wonderful service. read more

Drove an hour and a half from Burbank, California to skate here and it didn't disappoint. Rink was clean and exactly as advertised. Only thing was that the music advertised as hip hop, funk, and R&B has a real west coast feel only. I would have liked a little more variety coming from Ohio on vacation.... Just my personal opinion. I wanted a fun place for my kids, a reasonable price and skating times for different levels to ages. Epic far exceeded my expectations and on to of my wants provided a beautiful place to have fun with my kids and friends, and some great food too. Churros to die for. My family comes here weekly and my kids have blast and get great exercise while doing it. My kids have the membership which gives each kid 10 sessions for $59. And they have their own skates. Its pretty funny to see some of the bad reviews. Its not for everyone. Yes you have to pay money for the skating and the food.....and yes there are rules....and yes its not a big rink....yes it gets crowded at times. Thursday night it is $10 for skate session and a rental for 3 1/2 hours of skating. Where can you go anywhere in this town and have your kids entertained for that. Mulligans? Movies? Nah. The rules are for safety, if anything they are pretty relaxed about it. The rink is small because its a small building built for a furniture store. If anyone was around this town 3 years ago there was not much to do around here. Thank you Epic for something besides the mall. The staff is not perfect but getting better, "growing pains people". Anytime I have ever had a problem and I have had a few, I just approached a manager or owner and they fixed it with a smile. I havent had any experience with any of the birthday parties here so I cant help you there. All I can say is that all of the people I see skating here have a smile on their face, thank you Epic for being a reasonably priced entertainment option that gets my kids away from the electronics and gets them exercising for a full 3 hours. read more

We live pretty far away and I was being dropped off by my parent who was going to stay and just hang out until I was done skating, unfortunately they've added a new rule where they are charging everyone a $10 admission fee even for non-skaters. Since we weren't expecting to pay this unnecessary fee due to a new rule, fueled simply by greed, and gas is so expensive right now it makes driving all the way home and back unreasonable we decided to just go home and I didn't get to skate with my friends. I have always loved this place because it's so much fun and the people are always respectful. except for tonight when i attended my friends 16th birthday party in Mr. Bills VIP room. The workers who were hosting us were incredibly negative the whole night and definitely made it known by their faces that they didn't wanna be there. i understand it was late and probably a long day, but it does not excuse for bad service. One of them was irritated the whole time my friends mom was having her find a youtube video she put together for her daughter, it was taking a while but she was noticably aggrebated. they never once said "of course" or "you're welcome" when we asked for something and just had bad attitude. When we were leaving i really needed some water so i took some from the pitcher on the cart and one of them mumbled "most people wouldn't take water from the cart but that's you're choice i guess" and i just think that was just rude and unnecessary. i usually am not one to leave reviews, but i had to since they made a lot of us bummed out by their actions.
