I was in tinned fish heaven, LET ME TELL YOUUUU. They have so many amazing brands, and even a couple that I've never had, or can easily get online. if we weren't in such a rush to get home (out of state) I probably would've stayed here for hours! They have "THE" French butter, and yes I went home with $100 worth of butter. No regrets. The workers were quite welcoming, and the prices are NOT overly marked up at all. I was expecting prices to be more expensive than usual, but I was very surprised and delighted to see that it wasn't. Finally made it to this place, this is the 2nd time I went - first time I came by they were closed. This time I went on July 3rd in the afternoon and it looked small from the front but it's a huge warehouse once you walk in. My goal was to get some French butter as I saw they have a huge selection of it. I found so many other items like 3 freezer full of items like pain au chocolaté and croissants made in France. All you have to do is bake it at home. They also have frozen baguettes. I got frozen pastries and I also got some French butter and their selection is massive with different flavors. I typically get this butter at the grove but this place has sooo many varieties. I also picked up Italian flour (to make pizza dough) and canned pizza sauce that they recommended. I picked up some Patata Torres chips as well. Will definitely be back to explore the store more. Definitely worth the visit if you're into cooking and like gourmet foods. read more

What a great place to get goods from around the world! From the outside it looks like a warehouse with parking lot. I could never tell from the outside that they sell food inside. They even have the pulling baskets just like Paris does. Super friendly and knowledgeable team that help us decide from the huge assortment of items. They have a huge variety of tinned seafood, French butters, and cheeses. There's so much to choose from, I was here for an hour to browse every option before making my selections. I was impressed they have vietnam white peppercorns because that's my favorite pepper. I feel like I'm saving on flight tickets by getting my goods here. My friend got bread, Pate, fig jam, and pickles to enjoy just like he did in France. My other friend got an assortment of Asian chili oils that she enjoys on top of everything. Located in a non-descriptive space, Epicurious Gourmet has a treasure trove of amazing gourmet food items. I don't know why I waited so long to visit! Upon entering there are shopping carts and baskets. Take a rolling one (trust me) and get ready for a wonderful store filled with food stuffs that will make you swoon. The neatly stacked shelves are filled with things like chocolate, jam, pasta, tinned seafood, chips, and pasta are all neatly organized. Tags indicating country of origin (largely from Europe) are helpful. There are refrigerators full of charcuterie, cheese, and French butter. Freezers have ready to bake breads and pastries from a bakery in Canada. It's actually quite overwhelming (in a very good way), if you don't know what you need. You'll definitely see lots of things you want. The people that work here seem happy and are very helpful. When we were looking at chips, one of the employees shared his favorites. The best part of the visit was meeting the owner. He was enthusiastic and extremely informative! He told us that everything in the store was sampled and scrutinized for taste and quality. He knew everything about the products and why they were sourced. He helped me find a delicious arbequina olive oil from Italy and tins of sardines packed it butter. Swoon. By the end of our visit my basket was full! While the items here are pricey I truly think that the quality is worth it. Parking is plentiful and conveniently located just outside. The store is clean and well organized. Bring your own reusable shopping bags because you'll need it for all the wonderful goodies. Definitely returning! Their tinned fish section is amazing! There were so many options. I didn't know what to get. The grocer helped me choose and I'm excited to try them! I think I went into a fugue state because when I left, I had over $200 in gourmet items! I picked up some amazing cheeses, meats, tinned fish, olive oil, and French butter. They also had my favorite olive oil. I bought 2 bottles. They were smaller bottles than what I would normally purchase, but per ounce it was still less expensive than my usual 750ml one. Where has this place been my whole life?! We walked in hunting mizithra cheese (didn't have it today), and ended up wandering around like kids in a candy store except the candy is artisan cured meats, cheeses from around the globe, mustards, vinegars, olive oils, sauces, and all kinds of gourmet goodies. They literally stock over 2,500 items from Europe and beyond, with new arrivals showing up every week. The employee was super helpful and suggested a La Tur cheese from Caseificio dell'Alta Langa, (he said it's similar to triple cream Brie) and one of their French baguettes (baked in Montréal and shipped in frozen, how awesome is that???!!!!! ). We also grabbed a pistachio mortadella on a whim. Back home, we threw together a quick charcuterie board and let me tell you, that baguette was insane. 7 minutes in the air fryer at 350F and out came what might honestly be the best baguette I've ever had. Crispy on the outside, pillowy soft inside, paired with that La Tur (which I normally don't even like Brie-like cheese) and boom: total foodie epiphany. This place really is a food lover's playground. Whether you're stocking up for a special board or just want to explore weird and wonderful flavors you can't find at the usual grocery store, it's worth a stop. What a hidden gem! I've heard about this spot for a while and didn't really know what to expect. It's in a warehouse type building, so there's not much signage. It's pretty bare bones inside, but there are shelves and shelves of AMAZING products you can't find anywhere else. I did like two solid laps in the store before actually shopping because I was in awe of what they had to offer. An employee came over and asked if I needed help and honestly, I didn't really know what I was looking for, but I told her I was interested in some sort of Italian chocolate treat. She picked out these cookies for me that I think have changed my life. I would upload a picture but the bag may or may not have already been fully consumed. They are called Pan di Selle! They've got pastas, sauces, candies, butters, jams, and sardines galore! They also have baking supplies for making bread for any sourdough people out there! I ended up getting the bag of cookies, a bag of pasta and a little jar of pesto. I can't wait to cook them up! I definitely think this would be a fun place to shop for the foodie in your life. We got 2 types of caviar, beautiful chocolates, cans and cans of sardines, white fish, anchovies and everything we think we needed. They agreed to special order certain varieties of flour for me but I had to persistently follow-up; the level of customer service promised or implied isn't what I experienced. They have a wide selection of dried pasta shapes, olive oils and even a selection of jars of duck fat, beef tallow, butters. If you're just looking for some fun snacks, they have things ranging from imported shortbread crackers to foie gras chips. They also have a selection of some Asian goodies -- but other than maybe some special shoyu you can probably get these elsewhere in a grocery store within the price mark up. By the time I got home (I came up from WestLA) it was defrosted and I could barely even tell it was frozen. After warming it according to package directions, I can't lie to you when I say that it is some of the best baguette I've been able to find in LA. I haven't tried the frozen croissants yet, but they look promising. You should also absolutely take the time to speak with the staff because their recommendations are how you're going to find the hidden gems. I stopped in with a friend and even after we had looked at everything ourselves they managed to point out a few things we had not noticed like a special French butter they get only once a year and a jowl bacon! I was most excited to see that they carry Humboldt Fog cheese which has become one of my favorite cheeses and even though I live in the same State where it's made it's still quite rare to find. My new favorite store to visit for gourmet ingredients! It was a random find while visiting the game store in the same warehouse vicinity. The store front is very inconspicuous as Epicurus is located in between warehouse buildings, but you won't miss it since it has a big sign. Once you're inside there are so many different ingredients from artisanal cheeses and meats, jams, mustards, ready to bake breads, dried and fresh pastas, and so much more! They source a lot of their products from different countries so you're able to find some hard to find ingredients here. I love creating my own grazing/charcuterie board and Epicurus has a wide variety of products from different countries to make my boards special.
