I was feeling hungry, craving a sandwich, and have no food at home. My options were to either go to the store, or to look up a good sandwich on Yelp! I'm sure you can guess which option I went for! I was surprised to find Roma Deli on the list as I had never realized it was so close-by from my usual morning start. Parking seems to be street parking but there was also a lot right next to the restaurant and I couldn't tell if it was for the Deli or not but I felt intimidated by someone who was standing in the lot staring at everyone that drove in so I parked on the street. On entering I was surprised that the restaurant is so spacious and smells so good inside. I was greeted by friendly staff and I spent quite a while admiring the large menu before making my choices. I decided that instead of going to the grocery store I would get a few sandwiches to take home and eat for a couple days so I can avoid the store a little longer lol. I ordered the Honey Turkey Sandwich, the Italian Combo sandwich which says it's one of their signature sandwiches, and the Roma's Special sandwich. I also ordered a size small Zucchini sticks. While I waited I noticed that the staff is so friendly that they even strike up conversations with guests about different topics and it looks like they have allot of regulars coming and going. I don't feel like I waited too long for my food, I browsed a little along the walls and sat for a little relaxing and before I knew it my number was being called. I paid and took the food with me and I could feel steam rising out of the bag, that's how fresh the zucchini was. I did not get to take a photo of the zucchini because I ate it the whole way home, and let me tell you that was the most generous size small portion I've ever seen. I love zucchini and these were lightly breaded and nice thick but well cooked cuts of zucchini. When I got home I decided to eat the Honey Turkey Sandwich first, I thought I'm just going to eat half and then put the rest away, but it was so delicious I ended up eating the full sandwich. The bread is a nice soft white roll, and the sandwich is bursting to the brim with all the ingredients. This deli is awesome, it reminds me of delis you see in the movies where everyone knows your name, and the food is so delicious. This is a real throwback to deli's that did it all! Pizza (yes, by the slice too!), pasta, an array of sandwiches hot and cold including Reuben's pastrami, you name it... I am incredibly fortunate to have gotten off the Uber Eats path and ordered directly from Roma Deli and it was a lot cheaper as well. I have so many good things to say, but the topper is how well the staff treats you and how much they care about their food and service. read more

Honestly this place is very impressive when it comes to not only customer service but the quality of food you receive! They have so many options to choose from ranging from breakfast to sandwiches/pizza/salad/pastas/appetizers/desserts literally a one stop shop. My favorite is the meatball sub and even the half portion (as pictured) is a very nice size. We also get the fancy sandwich which is one of their more popular items. But I have had their breakfast burritos as well as some of the salads in their cooler fridge and everything is so tasty! Definitely becoming a regular here and atleast stop by once a week. Finally found a deli that knows what they're doing. Grabbed a Reuben and their Fancy Italian for lunch today and walked away genuinely impressed. The Reuben was absolutely perfect. Seriously, this is how you build a Reuben - thick cut corned beef that was tender and flavorful, tangy sauerkraut that wasn't soggy, melted Swiss, and thousand island that tied it all together. The rye bread was toasted just right, crispy outside but still soft enough to bite through without everything sliding out the back. You can tell they don't skimp on the meat here. The Fancy Italian was solid too - good quality meats, fresh mozzarella, nice mix of peppers and pickled vegetables. But honestly, that Reuben stole the show. I've had a lot of disappointing Reubens around town, so finding one done this well was a real treat. Service was friendly and efficient. The sandwiches are huge - definitely worth the price. Everything tasted fresh and made to order. This is the kind of neighborhood spot that does the classics right without trying to reinvent the wheel. Sometimes that's exactly what you want. Will definitely be back to try more of their menu, but I have a feeling I'm going to have a hard time ordering anything other than that Reuben. Went I went to pick up the order and although it wasn't ready I only waited another 5 minutes and staff was very friendly. Lots of tables inside for those who choose to dine in. They packaged each sandwich and labeled it so it was easy to give out each persons order. Talk about a last-minute find! I had just finished a delivery nearby and asked a guy at the spot if he knew any good delis around. He said, "Check out Roma Deli down the street, it's really good." Ten minutes later, I'm walking through the front door into this classic little spot that totally lives up to the name. It's a small deli with a huge menu and a warm vibe. While checking out the board, I was greeted by an older gentleman who turned out to be Nick, the owner. Super friendly, and you could tell he lives for this place. He said he's been running the show for 33 years, and the deli itself has been standing strong for over 70. That alone tells you everything. It's places like this... humble, family-run spots, that really get it. Let's start with the Italian Combo Sub. This thing came stacked with all the staples--mortadella, capicola, cotto salami, dry salami, provolone, and pepper jack all tucked inside a fresh sesame French roll. From the first bite, it had the perfect balance of meaty richness and crunchy freshness. The flavors blended beautifully... salty, tangy, a little spicy, and very satisfying. The bread had just the right chew, giving that old-school deli bite that hits different. And if you read my past reviews, you already know that I had to get the Reuben. It came out golden grilled, buttery crisp on the outside, layered with juicy pastrami, melted Swiss Cheese, Sauerkraut, Russian Dressing, Garlic Sauce. (and creamy coleslaw that I ordered on the side) that brought both sweetness and tang. The house-made Russian dressing alone is straight-up dip-worthy. You could put that sauce on anything, and it would taste amazing. This Reuben is messy in the best possible way. It's rich, smoky, melty, and comforting. Every bite tasted like it came straight from the heart of a deli that's been doing it right for generations. I even told Nick before I left that this was one of my top five best Reubens I've ever had! Roma Deli is one of those rare finds where you walk in curious and walk out impressed and full. On rainy days we stay in and what do we do ? Order food to be delivered. Today we ordered from Roma Deli recommended by a friend. I placed the order online and they delivered it for $5. I ordered a chicken parmesan, an eggplant parmesan, an mortadella and the Italian combo. All of them were delicious in their own way. The bread was fresh and so were the ingredients. Nice Italian deli in North Hollywood. Easy parking situtation on the street, plenty of tables inside, plus a couple of tables out on the sidewalk. The guy who helped me was friendly and very helpful. I ordered the Fancy Italian with a couple of side items. The meats were good, and the onions + roasted red peppers were nice. More cheese would've been nice. My (probably unpopular) opinion about the bread is that it was interesting. It was actually really good - super crispy without tearing up your mouth, but I don't think it works well for this type of sandwich. I would have preferred a bread with a little bit more chew. And the lettuce, it's basically just water. Why not some basil leaves or arugula instead? Something that would bring a bit more flavor to the party. The Fancy Italian is still overall very good, 8.3 out of 10. The marinated mushrooms are delicious, 9.2 out of 10. The pasta salad didn't stand out, 6.8 out of 10. read more

I am always beyond fascinated by the one-star reviews on Yelp. Frequently, they have nothing whatsoever to do with the food, and everything to do with perceived issues with the staff or orders being wrong, etc. Stuff happens, but some people love to play the victim or make more drama than is necessary. So, let me tell you my experience, and those who know me know I call it as I see (or taste) it. I've been wanting to try this place for a couple of years. I know NoHo pretty well, but have never driven by this place, at least I've never noticed it. But UberEats had it and I finally decided it was time. Normally, I would never order a cheeseburger from a place called Roma Deli, but it sounded appealing to me so I did, along with the Roma Special sandwich. Now, a lot of the one-star reviews I read complained how something was ordered and what came did not have the condiments right. Well, I am VERY picky about things being exactly the way I order them. For the burger, I asked for extra 1000-Island dressing and got it. The burger was cooked exactly the way I requested. It was excellent and of high quality, but not something I would order again and the why of that is coming up. The Roma Special sandwich was great. I wanted very specific things on it, dressing-wise, and got just what I asked for in every way. The roll was great, everything tasted fresh as can be, and when you have a great sandwich like that it really puts to shame places like Subway or Jersey Mike's. No need for the burger because the sandwiches are the ticket here, although I may try some pasta or pizza at some point. For me, five stars all the way, baby. read more
