Sun Valley, CA I accompanied my friend for some grocery shopping. I'm new to this area so I was surprised something like this exist in her neighborhood. Driving to the store is easy as well as finding a parking space. Plenty of blue placard spaces and I like that. Inside, it's one of those step-down markets, but it is clean, well -stocked, and organized. The produce section is neatly arranged, and everything looked fresh and good quality. Since it is an international grocery, you'll find products from all over, which is wonderful - catering to all the customers. Prices are a little bit on the lower side compared to other markets, so you get value for what you're buying. There's also a public restroom tucked in the back with a clear sign, which is always helpful. If you're in the area, it's definitely worth checking out. read more

This store can be really busy in the morning and in the afternoon. Customer service is a hit and miss in this store. Some cashiers are really nice and friendly and some are plain rude. For food, I would say this store is very cheap compared to other grocery stores. Produce is way cheaper than other stores in the area. Deli department can be a headache since some people cut the line and don't wait for their turn , even though, getting a number and waiting in line is required. If you are interested in buying international and domestic beer, wines, and liquor, this store has a huge selection of alcoholic beverages. For ambiance, I would say this store has improved. It is way cleaner than it used to be. Employees are constantly cleaning and mopping the store which is a plus. Be careful of the carts when walking around in this store. Parking is easy. At the door was welcomed by but the exit was bad the cashier was so unwelcoming she was just talking to the other cashier. She did even ask if I found what I need of greeted me, or said good bye. I did understand what she was saying at all not English so it was rude. Some of the food was fresh and prices are okay. The man at the meat were helpful but it was hard to hear them they don't use a speaker. It was so busy though and the line was so strange, one big line the place was overwhelming. Great market! I was in the area and decided to stop by on a whim on a Sunday afternoon, surprisingly no crowds! Amazing prices on produce and meat. Mostly Middle Eastern and Eastern European products. Rows of spices, herbs, oils, grains, breads, cheese, teas, juices, dried nuts and fruits, exotic candies, etc. The liquor section is pretty impressive as well. This market also carries Harris Ranch beef that's fresh - meaning it hasn't been sitting at the meat counter for eternity. The produce area is a hit and miss, but mostly a hit. Just gotta sort out your pick... did I mention great prices? Bye, bye Ralphs! The market itself kinda reminds me of a smaller Super King Market, but with better crowd control and more organized. Employees were constantly wiping down carts and the market is clean. This place is AMAZING! At breakfast at our favorite diner, a lady mentioned this place, it was just a couple of freeway exits from where we already were so we were like, "why not?". If you are familiar, it's a lot like Super King, but better. More interesting items that I haven't seen before. I was like a tourist taking photos of labels and products that were new to me. We bought the Organic Bulgarian probiotic yogurt... so delicious and good for the gut. It's so good that it doesn't need to be pared with anything. We bought produce, Parrot coconut Curries in a can to sauces up some veggies, and some frozen desserts. The sale items have great prices, I bought Roasted Sweet Red peppers for a great deal at $2.99 a jar! read more

I usually drive up approximately 15 miles from my home to buy fruits and vegetables at the store, and generally I am pleased with the things purchased. Last week (Aug 13-19, 2025), they advertised Presidente Butter (32 oz) for $2.99-ea. When I got there, butter was available, but only 7 oz package. I spoke with Customer Service Supervisor, and the lady advised that the company that does their ads made an error; and she also said "they were not responsible for the error". In fact, they ARE responsible for the mistake. It's their store, and their business to make sure the products they are selling are correctly advertised & priced to the people shopping in their store. I asked if they could provide me with other butter (16 oz each) X 2 for the inconvenience. The lady advised that they would not substitute, and then pointed to a sign by the front desk "they have the right to refuse service". I'm not happy with this behavior. My father always buys (ah2awan) cheese from this place. This time the cheese was bad it smelled and tasted bad. I noticed they covered the original expiration date with a new tag and different date. He went to return it and they wouldn't take it back. Anywhere else would've apologized and either returned or exchanged the item. I've been going here for 25 years because it's convenient to me, as my property is around the block. I DO NOT recommend to anybody. The food is NOT properly refrigerated. The workers are incredibly RUDE. They are 100% racists, everything is way over priced. And trust me, if you're a white lady with tattoos you will be treated terribly. I went in yesterday to get some lemon juice and strawberries. The cheeses were not being refrigerated properly and were out in the open. All the strawberries were covered in grey mold. The alcohol is 50% marked up. The lady who ID'd me was totally rude and almost did not sell to me because I wasnt wearing makeup. So she proceeded to tell me I looked ugly without it'. I told her that was rude as f***. She laughed and threw my money at me and it landed on the counter and floor. I'm a model and I know I'm not ugly, I'm just "too Caucasian" for this store. Things they sell are not fresh! And when problem arise, customer service will be rude & disrespectful like it happened to me. I was a regular shopper up until now, the store is located right where I live. I purchased several cheeses and one of them was rotten. The store manager was rejecting everything i would say, and not wanting to listen to me. So did her manager when I asked for the store manager. He was just as unprofessional and not well business oriented. I broke it down to him that I spend over $500 a month at that store and he's going to ditch me over a $5 cheese?!?!? Sunland Produce has a lot of good products I can't find elsewhere, and some of their prices are nice and low. But, more often than not, their produce is rotted, especially the fruit. Take care choosing your items. Also, the staff is terrible about packing fragile produce carefully, so even if you choose good items, after they're done dropping them in bags without care, unpacking them at home leads to bruises and poor quality. If you can, bag your own groceries. read more

I've been coming here for over 10 years, and it's a very good store. The main feature is the produce I'd say, and it generally doesn't disappoint. Everything I get I pretty much like, but for some reason no matter what type of apples you get they always are flavorless and dry. All the verities, no matter how new, they just have no flavor and dry like foam and it's always been that way! But considering how much else this place offers that's ok. I think you guys could get rid of that cereal and cleaning product aisle and put something more interesting in there too since I never see anyone go down there. The other thing that I noticed has become less but not disappeared are the rude staff, particularly the cashiers. I've had so many bizarre interactions from them over the years, and I know it's not just me, you're notorious in the valley as being the place with variety and rude cashiers. Food desert, begone. If you live anywhere near Sunland Produce, you've found a food oasis. I've been a customer of Sunland Produce for over twenty years and it's consistently provided fresh produce at reasonable prices to the community. The store carries an amazing variety of the freshest vegetables and fruits, not to mention a great selection of fresh breads (especially pita and lavash), labne, nuts, snacks and bulk spices. I also appreciate their teas; you'll find imported teas that no other grocery stores in the area will carry. They've also got the basics such as milk, sugar, flour, Mexican hot chocolate tablets (yes, that's a staple!), olive oils, etc. But the main attraction is all in the name: PRODUCE, in SUNLAND. Big market selling international foods mostly Mediterranean and Armenian specialties. From fresh bread to packaged goods. I don't shop here too often but when I do I find good deal on certain products that I like. I try to stay away from the produce because it's not the best quality. If you are planning to use it the day you buy it it's ok but forget about keeping it for few days, it gets spoiled fast. But for people looking for cheap produce it's a good place to shop. Their deli department is ok, not too many choices to chose from but so far everything I have bought has been fresh. Huge selection on cheese, packaged deli items and spices. I urge anyone to take a trip to Sunland Produce Market. The prices on Vegetables and fruits are unbeatable. The ethnic food of every part of the world is in the aisles. The meat section is plenty and they have just about any type of cut and meat in stock. Pictured are Pasilla peppers that will be made into Chili Rellenos. Every part of the world seems to be represented there. The carts are cleaned by a crew member as they are going in. The store is clean and the line moves fast. About the only negative I can say is that it gets full. Parking is never a problem because of the large parking lot. Shelves have expired food. I have to really be careful to read the expiration date of items on the shelves. My recent experience was last week when I bought a jar of Apricot jam. Rushing I did not read the expiration date, which I discovered the following day when I attempted opening the jar. It was after 5 days from the date of purchase that I went to return the jar. I was referred to about 3 clerks and the store manager refused to issue a refund saying that the dates in her country are written this way and the jam is not expired. So I was supposed to take her word over what is printed on the jar. I left her the jam and left the store with great disappointment. This is not my first experience with expired food at this store. For the most part, its main draw is the bargains you can find here, e.g. 5 lb of dates for $10, Bulgarian feta cheese for $2.98, big Panettone cake for $5, etc. Vast area reserved for vegetables & fruits much of it discounted. (Don't buy too much since they may spoil earlier because they may be older hence the possible discount). Huge spice & herb selection. Dried fruits, nuts, seeds. Large display of cheese, meat & processed meats such as sausages, Bologna not necessarily made in Italy but somewhere in Eastern Europe. Much of the processed foods veer between Latin American & Armenian. But with Armenians spread out over Iran, Lebanon, Syria as well as having been part of the former USSR, there is good representation of Middle Eastern & Eastern European. Nice presentation of food from far corners of the world. Well lets begin with the parking, not much to say besides its a complete MESS! Big deal if you dont find parking in the front! Walking is healthy! They got majority of it all! Lots of exotic fruits and veggies. Nothing crazy like star fruit or anything but they get good stuff. It all ranges from your everyday basic to hard to find exotic. Overall pricing can never be beaten! Lemons for 50 cents a pound! Bag of potatoes sometimes even $.99 cents! Freshness and pricing is 10/10 here! The bulk sections are phenomenal. You get all the Mediterranean goods, and Middle-Eastern spices, and cultural foods all in one market. Remember $99 cents a pound for an onion at Ralph's. At Sunland Produce you get 3-6 pounds for the same onion at the same price! (depends what specials are current) Last but not least lets give it up to the employees busting their tails to keep this operation in top working order. I had 30 minutes to kill, and I love produce. So, on a whim, I stopped in here and checked it out. It's a blah concrete tilt up building; inside is a Middle Eastern market but with a lot of international products. Some have commented, it's not the cleanest store, but it was okay for me. When you walk in there is a Security guard, a good idea in this neighborhood. There was homeless guy hanging around the front parking lot but didn't seem to bother anyone. When I entered, what caught my eye was their weekly ad. The prices are really great. Bartlett Pears were 39 cents today. There are lots of other specials. pomegranates are 49 cents a pound, apples, gala or fuji apples are 39 cents a pound. Both look good and at supers are 4 or 5 times more expensive. On Wednesday 10/29, T Bone steaks are $3.99 a pound...that is ridiculously cheap (don't know the grade of meat). I'd hate to be here when and if they run out...a butcher may think about running out himself.. I saw people of all races/colors, and the parking lot had beat up old cars and a few new Lexus and Mercedes. And walking to the produce department, you'll see American, Asian, and middle eastern goods, Mexican products, Lavash, French jam, etc But at least 1/3 of this store is produce, with some very hard to find stuff. First, I did buy a pound of pears for 39 cents. They were slightly bruised/imperfect in appearance, but that's OK at that price, likely Grade 2 that many discount produce markets purchase, whereas Vons and Ralphs, etc. purchase Grade 1. But the Fuyu Persimmons were perfect and 79 cents a pound, with the less common Hachiya persimmon (inedible until overripe!) is 99 cents a pound. They had the rare Dragonfruit, which you can find at Farmer's Markets and Whole Foods for about $6 a pound, but half that price here. Honeydews were 3 pounds for a dollar - 70 cents a pound in most places. I also got a pound of cactus fruit (aka prickly pear or tunas in Spanish) and some Manila mangoes, at 99 cents (not even available in many places this time of year). Then, I found some fresh sugar cane, the sweet chewing snack, that you chew and extract juice in your mouth, but spit out the fibers. They also had Quince (kwins, not said like the Spanish number for 15) used to make tart jams. Check out was fast, I was through there in 5 minutes, but there were lots of people behind me. Wish they had a location like that down here in OC...Big enough but small enough. read more

When I looked up this place, I was looking for Korean sides and saw that they had Korean BBQ. Just a note, this is not an Asian market like I orignally thought - more of a Hispanic market with Middle Eastern foods like frozen kebobs and hallel bread. Also has German and Csech beer, which is cool! Fairly affordable and staff is friendly. Ethnic foods but a different array, which is great! read more

ZERO STARS and RUDE DELI FEMALE EMPLOYEES - The store has good produce, meats, and other food products. However, the ladies at the deli department are rude and racist. I was up next, and the lady behind the counter didn't even acknowledge me. She asked a man who was after me if she could help him. I had to tell her that I was next. The entire time she helped me, she was rolling her eyes and throwing the deli meats on the counter. I became so annoyed at it that I had to ask why she was being so rude. What can I say but this is my fav store for fresh veggies and fruits. U can fill your cart for just $40 or less. Love the fruits of all types, shapes at a cheap price. What do I get excited about? Nuts!!! Fresh almonds to roasted, pecans...omg, theirs are fresher and tastier. Frozen corns are one of my tip for anyone. For less than $3 u can have yourself a big bag of corn, all peppers, okras, cabbages, "saluyot"(okra leaf), oxtails, eggplants international..ask me why. I didn't know there are different kinds of eggplants. For cheese lovers, gouda cheese to fresh parmesan,find this store very useful. I love Sunland Produce for their produce! There really is no-one else out there with such great deals! I make a run out here from Burbank every month or so to fill the fridge and meal prep on the cheap. It's a full grocery store but if you're doing for staples and general house products they are more expensive them my local market (Ralph's) . They have a nice deli with many meat and cheese options. I do like that. I'm not a big fan of the meat department. There's always a smell that is off a little and flies. So most if the time I get my meat elsewhere. They also have a decent fresh bread section. This place caters more to Mediterranean, Armenian, and Latin cuisine. So if you're looking for that hard to find item, There a good chance it's here. I met an Armenian gentleman a year ago there who turned me on to sumac seasoning. No other store I shop at had ever heard of it but Sunland Produce carries it in bottle and bag form. Yum! I can't go without it now. Bring your own bags because they do charge a small fee for theirs. Parking lot is large and wraps around the store. read more

In the middle of the boonies of Sun Valley lays a market that has been around since 1990. Sunland Produce has been a great place to purchase produce and meats as they are a wholesale company. During the preparation of any BBQ event, I always make sure that their chicken and pork kabobs are apart of my menu as they are very affordable by the pound and very delicious. My only issue with this establishment is they close a bit early which makes it a bit difficult to get to on the weekdays straight after work. =T read more
