    Jalapeño Cheese Scone
    Bella S.

A small marketplace for those who live in the Beverly Crest area. This place is modern and clean, but have limited options. It's good for when you need 1 or 2 recipe items and don't feel like driving down to the valley on either side of the hill. Prices are obviously going to be on the higher end given the location. Staff are always friendly and helpful. It's in a strip mall with other small eateries, so the parking lot gets filled quickly. There's plenty of street parking though. The cafe serves up traditional coffee drinks as well as a few specialties. They also have some pastries, which are good, but nothing out of the world. They do have a few seating inside and outside, but it is limited. 1. Chagachino (3.5/5) This is basically a coffee-alternative, though you can request for a shot of espresso be added. It consists of chaga mushroom powder, cacao, and cinnamon. I got it with coconut milk to give it creaminess, which it did, but overall, I felt the drink to be a bit too sweet for my liking. 2. Jalapeño Cheese Scone (4/5) I like the flavor of the Jalapeño, but the scone was a bit too dry and crumbly. The cheese was also lacking, but it could be because it was served cold. I wish they gave the option to heat it up so that the cheese would be melty and add a bit a moisture.

I came here during their Valentine's Day Sidewalk Sale event. This event was a joint celebration Valentine's Day combined with President's Day weekend from Feb 14th-Feb 16th 10-3pm. I fell in love with all of their shops including the puppy adoption but in the end we settled into Jadye's Market to grab a delicious eat. We were delighted to discover their deli in the back. It is ready to order and service is great. I puroused around every isle because every isle had a delectable treat that I was curious to try. They have a patio to eat your food outside including the accessible coffee shop right when you enter. I had the most heartfelt talk with my parents and my sister just happening to grab a bite to eat here on their patio. I feel like its a very hidden space of solitude and calm with delicious eats if you venture this way.

Love shopping at Jayde's--fresh produce, friendly staff, and such a nice neighborhood vibe. Always end up finding more than I came for!

Five years later I'm here again buying sandwiches with my son before visiting a friend in the area. Similar customer service experience. Waited at the deli to place an order and for good 5 minutes no one acknowledged me to see if I need something. After getting their attention I was helped by this young man who clearly doesn't care about customers experience. Anyways let's talk about the food. My son and I enjoyed our sandwiches sitting outside on this perfect LA day. I got a turkey sandwich on baguette and my son got a smash burger that came with fries. Both delicious and reasonably priced. It's a beautiful neighborhood market that has pretty much anything you need on a daily basis. Coffee and pastries, salads and sandwiches, oils, flour, deli meats and more. Outdoor seating all around the market to sit and enjoy your food or coffee.

Very cute vibes. Food is hit or miss, some things are amazing and some make me feel nauseous. The matcha is bad and over priced. Service is pretty quick.

JAYDE'S MARKET is a local supermarket located in a quaint shopping center in the hills of Bel Aire/ Beverly Glen. There is a sizeable free parking lot at this center. Jayde's Market, like any market, has pantry necessities, a deli, a butcher shop, a bakery and others. But what makes Jayde's Market stand out is due to the limited real estate, the selection of products are carefully curated. The wine shop part is large, in proportion to the rest of the market. The coffee shop is legit coffee shop serving espresso drinks. The deli has some great sandwich selections. The coffee shop portion serves very good Capuccino which we were able to enjoy in their limited seating space. The Bacon Chive Scone is solid! Very cheesy, texture is great... fluffy on the inside!!! The lady behind the counter is super friendly, helpful and fast.

This is a very cute specialty market nestled in the hills of Bel Air off of Beverly Glen. I had heard the sandwiches were very good, so I took the scenic route from the valley to the westside on a lovely Sunday afternoon. The market is small, with a few select products in each category. So select that I couldn't even find any bread. I finally decided their bread section must be the few loaves upfront and the frozen Ezekiel loaves in a small freezer. I ordered the Godfather sandwich from the deli, and it came with a side of fries. The bread was nice and soft, but a little too much bread for me on the top. The sandwich was good, but doesn't hold a candle to a godmother from Bay Cities. Everyone was really nice, friendly and helpful. There's a cute little side patio where I enjoyed half of my sandwich. This is a great neighborhood market. But since it's not my neighborhood, there's no reason to go out of my way to visit again. Bonus: small selection of specialty items, parking lot, the strip mall it's in is cute Bogus: expensive, almost like a small Erewhon. My sandwich was $18. Will I be back: Only if I'm passing by through Beverly Glen.

It is a small grocery nestled on the hills of Beverly Crest. One of the shops at the Glen Centre. I come here to pick up stuff for my client. They do have a Cafe and a 'Wine Cellar'. This store caters the neighborhood. It is a walking distance and bikeable to the residents near by. Few tables outside for al fresco dining which is great when the weather permits. Plenty of parking. Gender neutral restroom. Restroom does have a baby changing station. It looks clean and the tiles are cool. I couldn't consider it my everyday grocery store though. Prices for me are pretty insane. A cup of Latte is $8. When I can get a lesser value at Starbucks. The store is clean, fully stocked and employees are welcoming and helpful.

The staff made the whole adoption experience seamless. Jude especially was incredibly kind, helpful, and knowledgeable -- exactly the kind of person you want guiding you through the process. I believe if you don't have a reservation, you can join a virtual line by scanning a QR code in front of the restaurant. Once it's your turn to go inside, you wait in a short line where you can browse the menu before ordering. Probably about a 10ish minute wait inside. You order at a cashier but then wait about 5-10 minutes to be seated, which is when the food is brought out to you. They do ask for tips at the cashier after you pay, yet the only service is really just someone bringing the food to you on a tray. Nobody really checks up on you or helps you out after. The inside is a super cool experience. There are different "windows" where you can see Toads walking around and every 15 minutes or so, the place gets "attacked" and the restaurant gets dark with scary music too. Super cool ambiance. My group actually ordered almost every single main entree. We tried the: - Toadstool Cheesy Garlic Knots ($8.99): comes with four small cupcake looking garlic "knots." Barely meets expectations. We ordered it because we had two dishes of pasta too. 3/5 - Bowser's Fireball Challenge ($25.99): comes with a 1 lb meatball with some hot sauce and a puff pastry. Nothing special but it was one of our favorites. Don't get this and the other spaghetti & meatballs dish because the meatballs are basically the same. 4.5/5 - Fire Flower Spaghetti & Meatballs ($17.99): Again, nothing special. A little spicy somehow... 4/5 - Yoshi's Fettucine Alfredo ($16.99): Really nothing special again. Tastes like alfredo. Comes with a piece of grilled chicken. 3.5/5 - Luigi Burger (Pesto Grilled Chicken) ($18.99): It's a bit dry and doesn't taste like much. Huge fan of the pesto that comes on the side. It comes also with truffle fries which are one of the highlights of the meal too. 3/5 for the burger. 5/5 for the fries. - Mario Burger (Bacon, Mushroom, & Cheese) ($18.99): Nothing here is really impressive but it just tastes good enough. The truffle fries, again, are the highlight of the dish for us. 4/5 - ? Block Tiramisu ($9.99): It's solid. Tastes like a good tiramisu. A bit smaller than what I expected. 4/5 Would highly recommend giving this place a visit. The food is mid and overpriced, just like everything else in the park, but it's super cool for the ambiance and decoration.

Reservations are practically required, and you're definitely here more for the themed experience than the food. Even with a reservation, the wait times are brutal. First, you wait in line to order. Then, you wait in line to be seated. Then, once you're finally seated, expect to wait another 30 minutes to an hour for your food, depending on what you ordered. At one point I wasn't sure if Chef Toad had gone on break or if Bowser had locked everyone out of the kitchen, because the food took forever to come out. Unfortunately, the food didn't justify the wait. The Cheesy Garlic Knots weren't garlicky at all--they tasted like plain bread with a light dusting of powdered Parmesan. The Truffle Fries had little to no truffle flavor, and the cheese on the burgers wasn't even melted. The bright spots? The Super Star Lemon Squash was easily the best thing I ordered, and the pesto dipping sauce served with the fries was surprisingly delicious. Overall, Toadstool Cafe is worth visiting once if you're a Mario fan and want the experience, but if you're expecting food worthy of a Power Star, you may leave feeling like you got hit by a Blue Shell instead.

So when I found out months before that there was going to be a pop up, I was excited and purchased tickets for my husband and I to attend (my husband doesn't mind watching The Golden Girls but he isn't a big fan like myself). I purchased tickets for a week day during the off peak time to avoid crowds and also for a cheaper price. I paid $78 for 2 people ($89.75 after tax) ahead of time and had to pick our entree choices months before. I received an email the day before reminding me of my reservation for last Wednesday and with information regarding free parking, at 461 N Bedford Dr, for up to 2 hours. The walk to the pop up is only a few blocks away. If you park at 415 N Bedford Dr, which is closer, then you will have to pay. Anyways, my husband and I arrived last Wednesday, right at 3 pm for our reservation (3- 4:30 pm) and were asked if we wanted to be seated inside or outside. Please note that the outside is covered and sealed so you aren't entirely outside. I opted to go inside for the air condition. Please note that total, including ourselves, there was only 6 small groups dining during our visit. We were seated at a small two person table and were told to wait until our server confirms our menu order before walking around to take photos. Our server was friendly (all the employees we interacted with were friendly) and she confirmed what we ordered and then we walked around to take photos on the first floor (please note that there are 2 restrooms upstairs but there is one unisex restroom downstairs). It was only 20 minutes after we confirmed what we ordered, that our meals were brought out, which was: Sophia's Lasagna with Meat- This lasagna came with a piece of garlic bread. I thought the lasagna itself was okay, although I have had better. I did find a small piece of hair in my first bite but I removed it and didn't find anymore. The Lanai "Miami Style" Cuban Sandwich- This came with a small side salad that was already dressed and a side of thick cut fries. The sandwich itself was interesting in which it had shredded pulled pork and slices of honey ham. I have never had a Cuban sandwich with ham but learned that is what "Miami style" is. The pulled pork had some pepper flakes in it and so I found it to be a little spicy so I had to give this to my husband since I don't like to eat spicy foods. My husband (who does eat spicy foods regularly) thought it was fine. I liked the fries and thought the salad was good but had a just a little too much dressing and would have liked a little less. Strawberry Cheesecake- The best item of our meal, we both opted for strawberry cheesecake. ------------------------- (Total= $89.75 after tax, pre paid) We did not order additional items so we didn't owe anything. But did leave tip on our table. I don't know what other Yelp members were expecting and can see why they would have such a low rating. I never really expecting anything when coming to pop ups (although the Breaking Bad pop up we went to years ago was a bit better than this) and so I enjoyed my time and so did my husband. We thought the food was okay. We enjoyed taking photos in Blanche's bedroom, in the infamous kitchen and also at the bar with the Shady Pines in the background. We also took a few photos in front of the Thank you for being a friend sign but really think there should be better lighting as your photos will come out dark. Overall, we enjoyed our experience and am happy with our visit overall. We spent about an hour here and did not feel rushed during our time. Please note that there is a very small gift shop by the entrance. They do sell some cute items but prices are not marked and you may miss their tiny gift shop if you don't look for it (I only realized it was a gift shop after another group had tried to ask an employee how much was a particular T- shirt).

I was super excited to check out this pop-up and I'm very glad that I did. I don't know what kinds of expectations these fellow reviewers have, maybe they thought they would actually step back in time into the actual Golden Girls set, but c'mon, overall if you just go to this pop-up with a Rose Nylund attitude, you will in fact have a great time. There are lots of photo opportunities and two recreated parts of the TV show set - the kitchen and Blanche's iconic boudoir. Do not expect these to be EXACT REPLICAS. They are approximations and of course there is only so much space, so I think they did a great job at offering a simulation that provides some cute photo opportunities. There is the Shady Pines bar and also an outdoor seating area that serves as the "lanai". The location of the pop-up is Beverly Hills and be prepared to look for some parking. We lucked out with a meter spot and they stop metering at 9pm, so we were happy with that. All of the staff was very friendly, efficient, and attentive. The only thing was that the food came out before our drinks. I think they were just trying to keep things moving as ticketholders have timed reservation slots. We got the lasagna and also ordered some French fries. Both hubby and I thought the lasagna was pretty tasty. It was a nice portion, it was hot, and the flavors were good. French fries were standard fare. We also tried the tequila-based drink, the Lanai Cooler. I could have used a bit more sweetness, but hubby liked his and they were potent. The chocolate cheesecake we had was also tasty. The restaurant had a loop of episode clips from the show and at one point they did play the theme song. Otherwise it was all eighties songs, and we enjoyed the music. All in all we had a great time at the Golden Girls Kitchen. Kudos also to the staff that helped me change my tickets as the original date that I had did not work at the last minute due to an emergency, and they really helped us out by changing the date. I think the experience you have is what you make of it. If you think these experiences, restaurants, pop-ups are going to be just like you see them on Instagram, think again - Instagram is not real life.
