If you ever need to recover pictures from a corrupted/damaged SD card, this is the place to contact. I am giving e provided 2 stars and the reason being is, at first when we spoke to Bruce, regarding our two SD cards that were damaged, he was very reassuring, professional and caring, or so it seemed. He gave us all the information we needed in order to submit my damaged SD cards, once they arrived he contacted me via phone call to let me know both were very damaged and what the cost would be to "attempt" repairing them. He mentioned one sd card was very bad and therefore he would only charge me for one and still attempt to repair both. Bruce said it would take 10 days if not sooner and i am more then welcome to call him at any time to inquire regarding any updates. Cool! Any photographer that has been in a situation where their SD cards get damaged, know EXACTLY the nightmare this is. It truly takes an emotional toll. So as horrible and frustrating as this situation was, i remained patient and truly trusted that they would do everything they could and i would refuse to rush or call them. So i didn't. Now day 10 comes along and, you can't blame me, i decided to call to see how it's going (as he offered i could always call for an update). Well, to my surprise i Bruce WASNT as understanding and empathetic and told me "if this is a rush we have a rush fee, i am currently in the middle of something." Listen, i am beyond understanding and know that we all have off days, but that was uncalled for when he offered for me to call at anytime and i didn't. I was patient enough to wait for the full ten days to pass, i informed him it wasn't a rush and i simply was calling for an update. Well, again he stated he was busy, they are still working on it but it doesn't look good and that was the end of it. The following day at 3:40am he sends an email stating it's not working and still not looking good but they are still working on it. After that, i never received not even a call back to receive anything as little as an explanation as to what went wrong. I hate to say it but it almost felt as though it was a scam. They call you, give you the best customer service and once paid, done deal.. all you receive are emails after that and bad attitude if you so even try to call for an update. Let's just say i never spoke to them again. I am disappointed as it's disheartening. It was by far one of the most trialing times in my life as i lost an entire wedding and baptism in those two SD cards... i understand some things can't be retrieved and I'm aware of that, but a little more empathy and consideration goes a longggg way, a call instead of an email also goes a long way. read more

I had just about a terabyte of footage on my external drive that I couldn't recover. The drive could not be opened by any software I found so I gave eProvided a call for a quote and was pleased by their price point. As a local I was able to drop my drive off to Bruce personally. I had an old flash drive that had a bunch of old pictures and documents on it that were irreplaceable. They had been backed up on a hard drive that was no more. So the flash drive was the only thing I had left of them. It must have gotten damaged when I moved. I could not retrieve the data myself. It was a very complicated case for them to work on. Not only did they do as some said they would and ask for several hundred dollars after receiving my card and my $20, but when I said no, they sent my card back cut open! So now the card is useless! Before it just had missing photos. Now it is cut open and unable to be used in any camera. on our honeymoon in COSTA RICA this past December, we were having the time of our lives at the beach with our waterproof camera and decided to get out of the amazing water and grab some delicious lunch and some more Imp when my husband held up the waterproof camera and sand and water poured out of it :( well when we got back home to California, I tried everything to get our pictures back. I downloaded some software program to attempt to recover the pictures myself, which messed up our computer, did not get any of the pictures and has since then slowed our computer. I found two image recovery camera stores in San Diego and took our SD card to, both with no luck. I was not willing to lose all our pictures, so I goggled SD card image recovery companies and *eProvided* was the first to come up in the search options and at least half way down the page were all HAPPY customer reviews that *ALL GOT THEIR IMAGES RECOVERED*!! I read through each review, none were negative and all said the company was: 1. able to get the photos, 2. maintained communication and sent updates and 3. I had never seen so many GOOD reviews. so I filled out the application, and mailed off my SD card THAT DAY! I was notified by emails and the company was so professional and efficient with providing me updates. I was actually called within 3 or 4 days to be notified there was no cost to me, but they were not able to get the photos off the card, it was too damaged. I told the great guy that I was so sad, was there anything else he could think of, I didn't want to lose all our pictures. He said they did have a more extensive option which cost more money and they send the SD card to a lab... let's just say this guy, I think he could be the owner, I spoke with him every time I called or they called. He was so thoughtful, helpful, understanding, helpful, professional, personable and "helped" me with the process. And 2 days later I found out... THEY RETRIEVED ALL OUR PICTURES!!!!!!! I would recommend eProvided Data Recovery to anyone who needs data recovered. In my situation, my niece bumped my USB jump drive while it was plugged into the computer and bent it nearly 90^. The drive contents could not be read by a computer any longer. I tried to fix it myself but, obviously, with no luck. When I took it apart, the board was cracked, and the board and chip were separated. Which makes what eProvided did very impressive. They were able to retrieve all of my data from the broken jump drive. Very impressive. Before I tried eProvided, I tried another recovery service (on ebay). This other company said they could not retrieve my data, they sent me back my jump drive, and refunded my money. At that point I did not know who to go to. I basically just did an internet search and compared a lot of different data recovery companies/sites. What sold me on eProvided was their website. I liked the informative and easy to read layout, I liked their posted success rate, and I very much appreciated that they post their pricing. With that said, my recovery did not fall under the website's listed pricing. I had a feeling that $30 was too good to be true. And that's ok, I actually did expect it to cost more given the physical damage to my USB drive. But I do wish the website was more clear that the prices listed are for "basic" recovery only and that sometimes a "lab" recovery is necessary, which is more costly. I didn't find this out until after I sent in my drive and received a call from eP. On the topic of pricing, I will say I was a little disappointed when the first quote came in, which included a non-refundable lab fee even if my data was not recovered (the website clearly states "Recovery fees only apply if recovery of your files is successful"). When I said no way, the price quickly dropped 66% and without a non-refundable fee. I do appreciate the price reduction, and the final price was ultimately fair for the amazing work they did, I just didn't care for the "game". Two more minor gripes if I may. They have an e-mail update alert service which is nice so that you are kept updated on your recovery but it is sent from a 'do not reply' e-mail address and there is no way (that I saw) to reply back to these updates/messages/alerts, either via e-mail or on their website. It was quite frustrating. Sometimes I had a quick question or wanted some clarity about their entry or I wanted to make a quick reply comment but I could not. I will say they are very personal and called me a lot. While this is nice (and rare these days!) that you can talk to a real person, it's difficult for me to speak on the phone during the work day so, for me, e-mail would have been more convenient. Final minor gripe. Before eP sent me my recovered data, they asked me to do a review and that after my review, they would sent out my data. Why in this order? It made me feel as though they were holding my data hostage until I did a review. To me, a review should only be done after the whole transaction is complete. After I asked, they agreed to sending out my data first. In summary, I did include a few gripes just for the sake of honesty and completeness, and as constructive criticism for eP, but at the end of the day, these guys did what they advertise they can do - they recovered my hard to recover data from my physically damaged USB jump drive. I am very grateful for that. They were professional, polite, quick, and skilled. And the final price was fair. And these are the things that are important.
