I thought i had a virus infection called MyKiper.com because ads for McAfee and Norton kept popping up on my computer. But Salar aka Shaun of Dr. Tech PC was able to diagnose the problem that it wasn't a virus infection but actually that i had actually clicked on something to allow these "notifications" to pop up. He searched for the MyKiper.com popup notification in my settings on my computer and turned Off the Notifications for MyKiper. I"m happy the problem has gone away. He had quoted me a price of $129 to look at my computer. He said that if it took longer it would be a little more. I didn't ask him what his hourly rate was after the first hour of if he prorated the hourly rate. It took less than an hour because it wasn't a virus so he only changed me $99 plus a $3 CC fee. If he can't get your virus off you computer, then the solution turns into a backup of your data, a deletion of all your existing files and then a clean reinstall of your Operating System. read more

Don't know where to begin to express our gratitude to Shaun @ Dr. Tech PC for helping us resolve our home wifi problems. We moved into a large home three years ago and uncovered a unique problem. Most wifi signals cannot accommodate a large home exceeding a certain amount of square footage. Our home was almost 7000 sf. The wifi signals drop thus creating many dead zones in different parts of the house with no wifi signals. At the beginning, we thought it was an internet service provider problem and changed network providers a couple of times. Then Google told us the problem was the size of our home and recommended we purchase additional pucks" to amplify the wifi signals. That did not help and the problems persisted. We had the google fiber team over several times and each time they were not able to provide a sustainable solution other than to say I need to use a hardwire Ethernet. Our network problem was compounded by the fact that our wireless carrier has minimal coverage in our new neighborhood. Changing wireless carriers was not an option as they provide the best free international data overseas which we need. Since we work from home, a reliable network was critical. On the advice of a friend, I decided to hire an IT professional to help me find a permanent solution. I searched on Yelp, read all the reviews and decided to try Dr. Tech PC and met Shaun. Shaun recommended an Orbi wifi network which can accommodate up to 7500 sf. He suggested I purchase one additional Orbi unit to the set of three that came in its package for a total of 4 units to ensure good coverage. He even told me which Orbi model to purchase from Costco and recommended a matching unit I could purchase from Amazon to get the best price on the equipment. Once all the equipment arrived, we confirmed an install date. Shaun arrived on the date of the installation and spent almost a whole day with my husband to install and also identified other wiring issues we had in the house. It's been a couple of months since his installation and the wifi has worked beautifully without a single hitch. I wanted to wait a couple of months to see how the network performed before writing this review. So grateful for Shaun for successfully resolving our chronic wifi issue and helping install a robust and reliable home wifi for our business. My 5+ year old laptop was randomly showing varying high CPU usage and then shutting itself down. After describing the issues to him, Shaun walked me through his ideas on what the issue could be (updates, virus, etc.) and provided a quote. I dropped off my laptop with him Sunday and had it back in working condition on Monday (due to COVID, other people in my household do not wish to have in-home services performed, but the option is appreciated). I reached out to Shaun @ Dr Tech for some high memory junction temperatures on my RTX 3090 during Ethereum mining. I asked him to open up the card in order to upgrade the thermal pads which is a pretty difficult / risky task, I called many PC spots and no one was willing to do this. Shaun gladly took this on and after a lot of trial and error (incorrect information found online for which pad thickness to use), he was able to get my temperatures to drop from 102 Celsius to 82 C, with an overclocked memory clock. Heatsinks were applied on the backplate of the card, and upgraded the fans that were previously on the case. This was the perfect solution and I can now mine on overclocked settings with very safe temperatures.
