Thumbs up for a new coffee spot in Burlingame. I was requesting one (to the universe) for so long, and my wish was granted. Pretty laid back spot with a little indoor seating and plenty outdoors. Mostly Facebook people...and me LOL. The iced latte really smooth. All the special coffee drinks sound really yummy. The coffee is really good quality. My friend had a fritttata sandwich which she said was delish (and looked that way) and also pretty sizeable. Overall, I'm happy with what the magical development fairy brought. read more

What did you first miss the most when you stopped working in SF? For me, it was all the good coffee spots and eateries there were in walking distance from my office. When I saw that Equator opened up in Burlingame, it got me thinking about early morning caramel lattes at the 2nd Street LinkedIn building location. While the Burlingame location doesn't have the caramel lattes nor the Early Bird tacos, they still have a lot of their signature drinks on the menu. I had hubs download the app for $5 off plus ordering ahead is always easier. He got the 16oz vanilla latte and I got the 10oz. We also shared a veggie frittata breakfast sandwich. The quoted time was about 5-7 minutes. Parking is in the back and they have some designated spots for Equator. One critique I have is that there's no label or writing on our order. There's a small sign to the left of the counter that says "online orders" but we weren't sure if the two coffees and sandwich were ours. We had to wait for one of the three employees to confirm if it was. I'm sure it's sleepy in the area since the building is so new and I believe the only tenant is Facebook Oculus and it was on a weekend, but still. I can see this being a disaster especially when business picks up. They have a small cute seating area right outside of their door but wanting more space we opted to sit a few steps away in the building's outdoor seating area. It's a nice new development with a view of the bay further down and the calmness of planes going by. I forgot to take a pic of our veggie frittata breakfast sandwich but it was heavy. I'm not sure how one person could eat all of it as I was stuffed. It was pretty healthy though as it was served on flax seed sourdough. My husband said he felt that the spicy aioli was overwhelming as it overpowered the avocado and eggs and other veggies. I agree that it was the most prominent flavor but at least wasn't super spicy, and I could still taste some of the veggies! Their vanilla latte was smooth and didn't taste artificial at all. On a hot morning I'll definitely change it up and get a shakerato or an iced latte. Being close to a bay trail it does get a little windy and the buildings offer shade. Equator is a welcome addition to Burlingame. We always take advantage of online ordering (we're parents so we try to be planners) so I just hope in the near future they'll find a way to write/label names down or have some other method of indicating orders at pick up. read more

Delicious coffee. I've had several different coffees here and they all hit the spot. Their homemade whipped cream is to die for. I wish I could have a tub with a spoon. I order ahead on the app and it is convenient and easy. read more

The coffee is delicious here! I got the seasonal pumpkin latte, which originally wasn't as strong as I thought and let the barista know.. he happily re-made one for me which was perfect. Not overly sweet. Smooth and rich. I originally fell in love with Equator coffee about 10 years ago when I randomly found a bag of these coffee beans at a house we rented out--since then, my eyes always light up whenever I come across an Equator shop (usually at the airport). The pastries are so so.. well I'm only basing this on my current experience (almond croissant). Although they warmer it up, the middle was still cold upon eating it. It's a bit dense and not as flaky/moist as I like them. Maybe it wasn't made same day?! Not sure but I wouldn't get it again. I'll be back for the coffee only. Awesome staff--super friendly and efficient. 5 stars despite the disappointment of the almond croissant. read more

I was staying at a hotel nearby, read the reviews and it was within walking distance, so thought I'd give it a try. Wow wow wow delicious. This place is located in the middle of the Meta campus, so that's kinda fun too, seeing all the young computer brainiacs wandering about. But I digress - the coffee and food here is fantastic. I had a hot almond milk latte, I think it was the best one I have ever had! The coffee is rich and smooth and flavorful, I was really delighted. So I had an iced latte afterwards ~ just as good :-). I also had their vegetable frittata sandwich with prosciutto, and it was a knockout! Their bread is amazing, and the balance of flavors just right, completely delicious. I saw someone else eating avocado toast, and it looked amazing also. They also have an interesting selection of specialty and flavored coffees as well as pastries, and all I can say is, I will be going back! FYI, they have a lovely patio and this is a dog-friendly establishment, they even have a jar of dog biscuits on the self-help counter for your pooch's pleasure. The staff was super friendly, and more than willing to describe and discuss the coffee options, tea too! Clean, organized and just perfect for your coffee/tea cravings. This is a really awesome little coffee shop by the water. Located inside this office park (I think Facebook? Not sure). I love that theyre open on the weekends so that people waking along the Bay Trail can pop by to use the restroom, enjoy some pastries and coffee, etc. I e always loved Equator coffee shops, so super happy they opened this location!! read more

Overall, we really love this place for breakfast and snacks. The coffees excellent, the avocado toast, and the peanut butter. Banana sandwich are both excellent. The frittata sandwich is also great just too many carbs for me. read more

Came here on a Saturday around 11am. There was a good amount of seating available for 2. The line moved at a comfortable pace and the menu is pretty straight forward. I ordered a Roobios Chai which was not overly sweet and had great flavor. I ordered the turkey panini which was much better than I expected for a coffee shop. The bread, turkey and lettuce tasted very fresh and good quality. Seating inside was fuller but not very loud. The baristas here are very friendly and helpful. I will definitely be coming back the only thing is that good coffee takes time! So if you're in a hurry I wouldn't recommend coming here because the coffee wait can be 10-15 minutes sometimes. But it IS worth the wait! read more

We often go here. The coffee is always excellent! Would give them 4.5 stars for the coffee/pastry but only 2 stars overall for long wait and rude customer service! Usually there is a wait and they post it outside so the regular customers like me knows, and are patient. However, today we came at the open and they took my order as usual. First, there were two of us but the guy only took my order, walked to the kitchen and did not even acknowledged the person with me. Then he came back after a few minutes to take my companion's order. Then, a few more minutes a wave of customers came in. They took their order. They made their orders and had given to the 5 people who came after me and they still had not given me my coffee! When, I asked the guys said, "You all came at the same time!" with rude tone. Ended waiting 25 minutes for my coffee. They need a better system to organize the orders. A hidden gem and a life saver! Ok I am definitely a coffee snob and I'd rather make my own coffee than buy anywhere... but this place, they know how to make proper coffee!!! Excellent quality beans is where it starts. And the baristas know what they're doing! Super friendly and welcoming atmosphere. My son and I love to come here in between soccer practices. There are non-coffee drinks for him to get. The pastries are phenomenal. Seriously I've tried everything and will keep coming back. It's super clean and has a welcoming atmosphere. I only wish there were more food places around it for meals. I love this place!!! read more

While on a work trip with my partner, we stayed at the Hilton in Burlingame. This coffee show was within walking distance of the hotel. The walk there was beautiful, you can see lots of trees and water. The coffee shop itself was quaint but still provided lots of room to either sit inside or outside. As for the coffee, they had a lot of variety. I picked up the blackberry cold brew and a lavender latte. They were both delicious and beautiful. The blackberry cold brew was amazing, I would definitely recommend it to anyone. The flavor of the lavender latte was a little more on the subtle side but it was still nice and creamy with a special coffee kick. read more

I was there in a Sunday PM. Good coffee but the slowest service I have ever experienced in a coffee shop. 18 minutes to get a latte, which is not include the 15 minutes I spent in line prior to ordering. read more

Good ambiance especially for working, but the coffee has been consistently bland and nothing to write home about. I've ordered many different coffees from americano, cold brew, to latte, cappuccino. Everything has been a small disappointment so far. They're pretty consistent in this lol. They also have "specialty" coffees like some single-origin pour overs that start at $7 and go all the way to almost $10. Although pour overs are usually more expensive but haven't seen pour over prices this high elsewhere. read more

I get my oat milk cappuccino here very often. - They use Oatly as their oat milk. Great choice! - The place is clean and well taken care of. - The team is wonderful. They remember my name and the name of my dog Chewbacca. They always offer to customize my coffee if I am interested to try something new. Stephanie is such a sweet person! Every place needs a manager like this one. - The location is great, the place is surrounded by water, so you can enjoy a nice walk with your coffee. read more

Came in today for a a coffee and a pastry. We bought chocolate croissant, they offered to toast it, it took 20 min. I went in and asked to just have one croissant sooner. It was old and stale, that is the reason for toasting them. They should not sell old croissants, or at least warn people about them, rather than offer to toast them without explaining why it is so necessary. Also why does it take 20 min? read more

Wonderful experiencing the next iteration of Equator's cyclist friendly cafes. Had a delicious mocha and waffle - mocha came with tasteful latte art and provided more than enough sustenance to power the return voyage up to the city. Ordered through DoorDash to our hotel. The breakfast sandwich was great!! Very flavorful and the bread was hearty and soft. Ordered a coffee and tea too. I was so impressed with their tea game, it's hard to find someone who doesn't just give you a cup of hot water and a teabag. They had a small but great set of options for teas (chai, rooibos, and yunnan black teas). You could also choose milk type and amount, add steamed milk, and choose sweetener types/amount. I was happy to see that Equator opened a new cafe! Their latte was well-balanced and infused with flavor, with chocolate and nutty notes, one of the better ones I've had for awhile! The Equator house blend was also smooth and enjoyable. They offered a nice selection of pastries from a local bakery with modern decor and outdoor seating. Stopped by here after a long bike ride with friends. Located in what looks like a business district is this awesome coffee shop close to a couple of parks. I got the Honey Butter waffle and a large Latte. Both arrived fresh and hot. The staff here is courteous, quick, and efficient. My order came out reasonably quickly. The indoor space is well designed, open, and modern. Outdoor seating was plentiful with large comfortable chairs and tables. Onto the food-- there was a lot of hype over the waffle and I can see why! The Honey Butter Waffle is fantastic-- great texture and the right amount of sweetness. Not too sweet, just right! Latte is on par if not better from any of the third wave coffee shops I've been to. So exciting to find Equator Coffees at this newly developed area of Burlingame Point, along the waterfront next to Coyote Point. Equator is a welcome addition to this area, offering their usual high quality coffee and food. coffee is good as their other locations but as others mentioned I wasn't pleased with the service. from the cashier to the baristas they all gave off a cold vibe to customers. when asked questions they seem like not wanting to answer. the whole ambience was unwelcoming. it's the worst customer service location among the other locations. read more

I also appreciated the lightly dressed salad that came as a side: the greens were very fresh. I also got the Cuban Cortadito, and I was pumped to have a non-dairy coffee drink. It was very well made: the slight hint of condensed milk was a nice touch. It was a nice sweet drink without being cloyingly sweet. But they have so many tasty coffee drinks that it was hard to choose, so I'll def be back to try more of them!

Awwww as postpartum mama who did not have her breakfast and coffee at 11am, I was so touched by their excellent service! Coffee was so smooth and my sandwich like my grandma did - so yummy! TL;DR: expensive drink but worth every penny…read more I popped by on a random weekday afternoon after a client meeting and was looking for a sweet treat. There was no line at all, so my drink came out really quickly. Service was efficient, and basically non existent since you order on your phone, and pick it up from the counter. They have some seats indoors and a few benches outside, it's pretty spare and basic inside which is all you really need in a cafe. I saw a lot of people getting takeout, and some small groups around tables chatting. I was debating between the matcha and houjicha, then got intrigued by the black sesame, and finally after much internal debate, decided that black sesame + houjicha would work best together and wanted the einspanner. They honestly have so many intriguing options like Earl grey matcha einspanner??? Banana pudding?? I have to come back. My only complaint is the price but I guess everything is expensive these days. $8/9 for one of these drinks hurt my heart though. On the flavors: while I wish there was more black sesame (I always do), this was one of the most satisfyingly black sesame items I've had from a cafe. It went really well with the toasty roasty notes from the houjicha and I think they added enough of both amidst the milk to make it a very satisfying drink. This can be rare because a lot of places drown out all the flavors with too much milk. The best part though, was the einspanner - the sweetened whipped cream on top really brought the whole drink together and was so delicious. It made it just that little bit more decadent. I got it at minimal sweetness and at first though it wasn't enough, but I was glad I did as I worked my way through the cup, it was perfect.

I was really excited to try this coffee shop, as I had heard quite a bit of buzz about it. When I arrived, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, which made a great first impression. Unfortunately, my experience with the vanilla latte didn't live up to the anticipation--I didn't really love it, and it fell a bit short of the hype for me. While I appreciated the welcoming atmosphere and attentive service, the drink itself left me a little disappointed. Equator Coffee is a great spot for a quick coffee and pastry break. I had the almond croissant, which was absolutely delicious--flaky, buttery, and packed with flavor. Definitely a 5-star pastry, even at $6. On the other hand, the chocolate frangii twist (for $5) was a bit of a letdown--dry and hard, and not as fresh-tasting as I hoped. I'd give that one 3 stars. The space is clean and inviting, with friendly service and a nice vibe for sitting down or grabbing something to go. I'll definitely be back, but I'll stick to the croissant next time! read more

I visited this coffee shop on a rainy Sunday and was pleasantly surprised by its modern interior. Despite the small size of the cafe, it looks quite spacious due to the minimalist furniture and decor. I was able to find parking easily in the ample lot outside due to its location in a Meta campus. Although the cafe was a bit crowded, I managed to find a spot to sit and got some work done while enjoying my vanilla latte, which was really good. Small coffee shop feel ; warm and cozy with natural light, modern decor with a touch of urban feel. Equator Coffees is approximately five minutes away from broadway Burlingame , past the beautiful lagoon , next to the Mega Store. Coffee was memorable, very dark in flavor and lovely nutty aroma with a a hint of mocha . Not that busy ; indoor, outdoor seatings and WiFi available.
