After our lunch, we walked in the street festival. My daughter saw the Almondette for dessert. We walked in. Looked like it was a brand new shop. Just opened in mid June. The dining room has the warmth and relaxed atmosphere. She ordered our ice cold cafe latte and espresso. We had the Earl Grey and Nikki's Blossom cakes. Not too sweet which was nice. My daughter, who has the sweet tooth, finished the cakes. The ice coffee was delicious. The staff were friendly and rendered wonderful service. When we were leaving, I checked the counter pastries and they all looked beautiful so I took the video. I heard the owner was asking how was the cake if it was good. And we said yes. We shall return if we are in the neighborhood next time.

Wonderful service and beautiful interior. Ample seating inside and outside. I ordered a cortado. Very dark espresso and delicious. The hazelnut dessert was so delicious and smooth. The chocolate was super well balanced with the hazelnut. Loved the crunchy texture with the dessert. Can't wait to be back to try more of their desserts

Welcome to the neighborhood, Almondette! Do we need another high end bakery, selling unique, homemade bespoke pastries? Frankly, the answer is no, but I got the best chocolate chip cookie of my life at Almondette today and new businesses offering beautiful and delicious basics as well as novel things are always going to be successful! iCustomer service is spectacular. I was offered a glass of water in a substantial glass, rather than a paper cup. Kinks are anticipated, particularly for a newer place, but staff have been exceedingly well trained. A delicious vanilla cookie was offered as a sample of their pastry items. It was a great place to sit with my book, listening as the staff, described the different offerings and explained that it would be another month before full breakfast, bread loaves and savory offerings would be available. No question was too small or too complicated. Answers were concise, informative, yet with detail that conveyed expertise. The descriptions of each pastry was clearly communicated and expertly shared. I ran into several friends while I was enjoying my cookie. There are plenty of European pastry shops in the tiny town of Burlingame. This is one to watch. it is pristine, aesthetically pleasing and the chocolate chip cookie is excellent! Four stars only because there are sooo many bakeries in Burlingame right now, and the sample size of a chocolate chip cookie and a vanilla wafer is paltry. I will update!

It's cute pasty shop, I work on Burlingame Ave so it was convenient to walk there. I ordered the monkey and the tomato mozzarella. I got my items to go and I was a little disappointed because the items were cold, so I'm not sure if you sit down and dine if they will warm it up for you, but they didn't ask me. So I saved mine to air fry at home.

Maison Alyzée is a French fine pastry bakery café located on downtown Burlingame's main strip. Dedicated to providing customers with a Parisian escape through handcrafted elegant pastries and artisanal breads, the bake shoppe doubles as pâtisserie and boulangerie, priding itself on meticulous attention to detail. Upon entry, we were welcomed by a brightly lit and very clean venue. Ray and I were immediately drawn to the beautiful marble-topped white counter that encased a gorgeous variety of exquisite treats. The commitment to the elegance of French culture and modern creativity were evident in every luxurious pastry and cake on display. Maison Alyzée is an order-at-the-counter establishment, so we made our purchase with a friendly staff member at the register. Unfortunately, we were told that espresso drinks were no longer available that night since the staff had already begun cleaning the machines. Ok....I never understand businesses that start shutting down things before closing time. This just shows customers that team convenience of closing shop quickly takes precedence over customer experience, essentially omitting availability of items from the menu while they are still open. For this reason, I am docking a star. Luckily, they still had some cold brew available, so I ordered a Lavender Cold Brew with oat milk. Heads-up: Plant-based milks like almond and oat milk incur a $0.75 surcharge. I wish that the lavender was more like a simple syrup, so that the flavour was sweeter and less sharp. Maison Alyzée also offers a selection of breakfast, lunch, and brunch options. I definitely need to return to try one or two or a few of their ostentatious delights.

I visited Maison Alyzee in Burlingame on a Saturday morning, and while the pastries were good, the service felt cold and dismissive. There was no rush, yet the staff was not warm or welcoming. I asked for my raisin au pain to be warmed up, and after waiting outside for about 10 minutes with no update, I went back in to ask. The response was "It's in the oven" was delivered rudely, as though my simple question was an inconvenience. Even when a café is busy, basic courtesy and communication should not be optional. Good food deserves to be matched by good hospitality.

Had a nice chat with Sales Associate Rosa at the Cakery who enlightened me to this interesting tidbit. ... If you've been Following my reviews you will know... I am absolutely in love with Schubert's princess cake. This may explain why the princess cake at the Cakery has often been hailed as very similar to the one from Schubert's. Even though the Cakery has changed hands. They still offer memorably delicious cakes. I couldn't resist a slice of strawberry cream cake for lunch which was moist and light and ohh sooo good. Picked up a princess cake to enjoy with family and friends tonight. The verdict, while similar, I still prefer the Schubert's princess cake for its lightness and less sweet finish. Schubert's princess cake also has a more predominant almond flavor. Both memorably delicious. In fact, the consensus over the dinner table amongst friends and family was deeeelicious! And my cousin, who's the most important critique says I can bring the princess cake from either place over anytime! Would definitely return for either cake or to try the double chocolate cake which is Rosa's recommendation or coffee crunch cake that Mike C. recommended for next time. Suspect there will be many more times visiting the Cakery on Burlingame Avenue!

Their croissant is buttery and soft, and with a generous amount of salmon neatly packed in together. I kind of wish there was a sauce on the side to go with it. Bestie had the turkey wrap. He liked it but my salmon croissant was superior. Also the CHOCOLATE HAZELNUT CAKE (not the official name aha) this was so good! Dense and nutty with rich hazelnut and chocolate flavor. There's seating inside and outdoors. It looks linked to an actual kitchen - guessing that's why it's called Kitchentown. Taste testing done on site in addition to production? If so, that's efficient! The food looked yummy! Ordered: Egg-tine 7/10 The black sesame seeds were good but then the sunflower seeds adding with the cheese in the center, uhh, it was ok. I took off the center - see pic of actual product with the center in tact. That made it taste better. The croissant was my fave part - crispy yet flaky and oh so soft in the middle. Jamon fromage 10/10 Basically, a ham n cheese croissant. This was delish. Unsure if you've eaten at Croissante; but, their jamon fromage isn't that great compared to this. Theirs has mayo, which completely throws off the taste for me. In any case, this was a success. Latte 3/10 Way too milky and not enough flavor.
