Awaiting Cat scan results in very comfortable hospital bed

PHENOMENAL staff & service. I took my fiancé in for a broken jaw 9:30 PM on a Sunday night and I really think he was the only patient there. We were in a room immediately and seen so quickly! The nurses & staff, Sara, Michelle, & Aleah were so kind and informative, and Dr Moreno was very likable with extremely lovely bedside manner (So refreshing!!!) He was straight to the point after the Cat scan, confirming the jaw was broken, and explaining we would be transferred to their main hospital, Summerlin Hospital, to await surgery. Our experience for the short amount of time we were there was phenomenal, honestly. I'm always weary of ER's, but this was a wonderful experience.

Just more praise for this ER and the ER Doctor, Dr. Todd Christensen. PLEASE PROVIDE HIM THIS…read moreFEEDBACK. He is one of the best, if not the best ER doctors I have dealt with in more than 2 decades. I knew I was battling Pneumonia and know to go right in. This time it seemed to be worsening. I have worked with Dr. Christensen before (he stitched up a non-stop bleeding cut on my finger). I went in and was on the gurney and he was asking all sorts of questions (to get a better picture of what was going on). I was getting upset because I could barely string together 2 to 3 words. I was confused and dizzy. Bottom line: Dr. Christensen saved my life. I had pneumonia WITH SEPSIS. Oxygen Saturation also continuing to go below the minimum standard. True Emergency. Dr. Christensen was an angel in my corner. He didn't minimize the situation. With each breath I could hear the "crackling" no matter where the stethoscope was placed. He knew what was going on and went to work on me. IV Rocephin, tablet antibiotic, oxygen delivered via nasal cannula, 2 rounds of breathing treatment and he wanted to transport me to a hospital (via ambulance) with a larger ER to continue treatment. Also the fact that all the specialities are in one place (pulmonary). He told me this and I had to decide. Everyone (RN's and others) were preparing me for transport and I told them that I refuse (had to sign off) follow-on treatment. They knew how dire the situation was and were upset. Dr. Christensen remained calm and was a guiding hand. I should have done what he wanted (he actually CARED). What he did was stabilize me enough and continue the battle with multiple oral antibiotics, so that I could knock out the pneumonia. Sepsis was eliminated with his and his team's effort. I went into another ER a couple days later, as other medical staff I told, were also alarmed. I knew the sepsis was gone, but still went anyway. Sepsis was confirmed to be gone, but I still had some pneumonia via their x-ray. I am going to randomly stop by to shake your hand, Dr. Christensen (maybe hug you, like a bro hug - well maybe that's a stretch, haha). Please, please, please, keep this amazing Doctor on rotation at this location. Thank you for all you and your team do. Skilled human beings taking care of hurting human beings. Deeply grateful and again, highly recommend this ER. If you get any of the Doctor's, especially Dr. Christensen, then you are in good hands. The ER is a smaller, but packs a punch. Thank you. Much love, light and positive vibrations to you all.

Dr Wu was very helpful and knowledgeable yet personable. Dr Patel is definitely charismatic, personable and helpful. The nursing staff were genuinely caring especially Yessica, Haylee, Sherilyn. Sherilyn took care of me with zero signs of annoyance every time while rapidly assisting me and genuine cared for my well being as a person. When I vomited, she was patient and genuinely caring. She rapidly yet constantly provided me with food when I asked for food after no solid food for approx 24h. Haylee stood out by how much she cares for her patients in making sure I was fed which is a big deal because I hadn't had a meal in over 24 hours. Though a nurse in training, Southern Hills would be unwise to not hire Haylee as a nurse when the opportunity arises. Yessica, just wow. The nurse that everyone would want. She acted like a patient advocate and helped in make sure surgery heard my concerns. While helping me she seemed genuinely concerned. So Yessica I would say: efficient, patient, professional and a true patient advocate (aka nurse). Southern Hill is very fortunate to have her. Would I return as a patient in need. Yes.

We were admitted swiftly, and within moments, compassionate nurses were attending to her, swiftly followed by the doctor. I was particularly impressed by the doctor's proactive and thorough approach; an X-ray was promptly ordered to rule out pneumonia, which provided immense reassurance during a worrying time. Medications were administered without delay to effectively lower her fever, bringing much-needed relief. Beyond the swift clinical action, the genuine warmth and professionalism displayed by both the nursing staff and the doctor were truly outstanding. They treated my granddaughter with remarkable kindness, ensuring her comfort and clearly explaining each step of the diagnostic and treatment process. Their ability to reach an accurate diagnosis so quickly was also greatly appreciated. Furthermore, I must specifically highlight the innovative registration system. The integration of iPads with vital machines revolutionized what is often a cumbersome and stressful process. It was a refreshing change to complete the necessary registration our own pace, without feeling rushed by a representative standing over us. This thoughtful, patient-centered approach significantly enhanced our overall experience and reduced anxiety. We left feeling completely confident in the excellent care she received. Should the need ever arise again, I would not hesitate to choose this facility. Thank you for providing such a high standard of medical service and for creating such a positive and reassuring

They went above and beyond to take care of while we were there at the hospital. Dr Gibbs explain everything to her fullest, the nurse Kay & Jessica went above and beyond in making sure that we were comfortable, Carl and Adriana and another filipina cna also went above and beyond not only did they care they made a smile they gave us conversation they made us feel comfortable, even the staff janitorial people that came in also went above and beyond. It didn't feel like you were at a hospital it felt like you were in a hotel the five star. Not only did they take care of the patient they took care of the parent. They have sandwiches for people who stay overnight all you have to do is ask if you're hungry they'll give you drinks and soda pillows and blankets all you have to do is ask they actually care about you if you don't ask you won't know what they'll help you with. Some people don't like hospital food but it's actually great that they make personalized food for people with food issues. Also if you pay in advance it's only $5 for someone who stays the night with the family member there or friend. Every meal is $5 if you pay an advance in the cafeteria you'll be able to order your food with the love one that you're with at the hospital at the same time. A lot of the doctors and nurses did not know that and CNA but they do now on level 5 and level 6. There was other doctors and nurses and CNAs they came to visit even though they did not know us and they went above and beyond and they were very kind and polite. It was a bittersweet sorrow that we ended up checking out we said goodbye to everybody gave everybody hugs and we now keep in touch with them they are very good and wonderful people and the next generation of nurses with the confession that they have at summerlin I'm proud to say that the amount of nurses that we met in CNAs are wonderful. They have the tools of being compassionate caring concerned all at the same time. Also treat people the way you want to be treated and some people will go above and beyond for you especially in healthcare. And if you experience someone that is not helpful you can always have a second opinion in the hospital. Just because you're in the hospital doesn't mean you have to be afraid to speak up just don't talk down there's a difference. I would recommend all families with gastro issues and with children to come to this hospital. This is the only hospital we ever go to and we have never been treated badly and over the years it's been excellent even more than I ever expected. It was wonderful when they first opened their doors and it's still wonderful now they do get overworked but just work with them and they'll work with you. And when they're doing a good job it doesn't hurt to say thank you for helping me you did a really good job because it actually gives them more motivation to do the best that they can always. Regardless if it's their job. But if they're not there's always the charge nurse which we did meet and she was wonderful too we even told her we love your staff you guys have a dynamic that I've never seen before. Thank you summerlin hospital staff and ER you guys did a wonderful job and hopefully we won't have to come back but if we do will come to summerlin! But don't take my word for it if you need a hospital to go to try them and review it yourself you won't be disappointed or you might I don't know .

"Wave that wand and you're all better!"…read more My visit to this hospital is routine for me. I'm here as a guest. Just an observation to drive someone back to their abode. We had to check in and get ready for surgery. The process can be completed prior to your procedure for best results. The patient only waited less than an hour before being taken back . Thank you to the staff for all their assistance and support. After the patient went back, while during prep process we were allowed to come back to give them love and support. Thank you to the staff for allowing us to see the patient before the surgery. It means so much . The nurse staff was absolutely amazing. So enthusiastic and encouraging. That's the attitude that you need in the morning. While awaiting the phone call from the hospital staff their is a cafeteria to enjoy some small pleasure until you have to go . We all seem to gather around the food. The kitchen staff were so friendly. They serve breakfast in the early morning and it's pretty epic . They have a great selection of fresh fruit. It's all the good stuff . Close by is coffee and other treats just across the street. The hospital itself is historic because of its roots in Catholic tradition and religious thought. You are able to learn so much just by looking around and reading the wall, literally. You are able to visit the chapel and sit for a while and gather your thoughts. Walk around and experience the tranquility of the healing garden. They celebrate you believing that all will be fine. Sometimes we need extra encouragement to keep the light and peace of joy flowing. Let kindness be your spark. All the joy and happiness that came from the individuals here was a shared experience and blessing thank you.
