9am - So i accidentally got a piece of a children's silicone ear plug stuck in my ear. I was low key freaking out and suddenly felt claustrophobic and was filled with anxiety. But I was literally checked in and out in less than 7 mins. Security was very nice at the front and sent me right back, got vitals quickly. Dr. Payne joked with me about what happened and made me feel a lot better and assured me they could get it out. He asked Tyler I think he was an NA for assistance holding my ear and boom just like that it was out. Thank god ! They were amazing ! read more

The doctor that saw my daughter was so lazy she didn't do any physical assessment . My daughter was having muscle spasms on both of her legs, can't walk or stand her Blood pressure is elevated for 16 y/o it was 158/98 they didn't recheck it again her pulse is bit elevated as well but they stop monitoring all her vital signs. I attached her pulse oximetry again and took her BP, it went down a bit. The nurses can't give you answers on what's the plan of care or laboratory test. Every time you asked them they keep saying I don't know. They're very unknowledgeable. Go to another ER. I will not recommend Er the Lakes, they need to improve and find a better doctor and nurses that are responsible enough and know how to do their job, as well as have concerns for their patients. read more

This place is AWFUL. I had to wait for 6+ hours just for them to give me the wrong diagnosis which led to the incorrect antibiotics. Another doctor at the next place I went correctly diagnosed me in a hour just by looking at my blood work. I also overheard the resident tell the attending the wrong information. I was also left with a $4,000 bill for what? To be given the wrong diagnosis which made things worse and now I have to pay them for it..... they do not care about you. read more

i use to love going to this e.r.. I always drove here out of the way the doctor was nice but not informative but i went to the neurosurgeon after that and they looked at my mri the doctor there marked my MRI normal when in fact it wasn't normal. i have calcium build up in my brain leading to a huge seizure. If the doctor were to tell i could've found out sooner ... instead i drove and had a grand mal on the road risking my life and others. the 4 day headache and other symptoms was not just a headache they also found a brain anyresum. Thanks.. but most of all I used the call light the nurse to unhook me because I needed to pee.. and the nurse at the station mocked me and said " i need to pee" to make fun of me. As an 82 year old retiree with a history of cancer, kidney stones, stage 4 kidney disease, fractured spine, unstable neck fracture, severe sepsis, etc...all within the past 5 years I know something about emergency rooms. I had to take my wife to ER at the Lakes yesterday and I have to admit it was one of the more professional ERs I have been to. The staff was thorough and efficient and kept us informed every step of her treatment. Her doctors were knowledgeable and had her correctly diagnosed and treated within 3 hours after testing and imaging. I highly recommend ER at the Lakes for your medical emergencies. read more

Nothing was done for me in fact I was sent home without discharge information, This used to be a wonderful place to go and now somehow it is resting on its laurels. I showed up with black feces and a positive blood on an at home test. The resident was wonderful Dr. Batan and said we would do scans, etc. The primary doctor Dr. Nina House (yes that really was her last name) for unknown reasons over rode him. I had to ask after an hour when tests and follow ups would occur. Finally she said we'll test your blood if your platelets are ok you can leave. I was sent home saying if anything gets worse come back we'll send you to the hospital for endoscopies. Terrible service. Oh and noone even took my blood pressure to release me. read more

They even got him his own stethoscope and coloring book while we were waiting in our room! I was hesitant to come here due to the reviews but I'm so glad we did. Just called in a complaint at -- (702) 916-9176 The security staff was friendly and so was the check in nurse. However the ER Doctor -- unprofessional -- he basically said he can't do anything about my symptoms. I asked him if he could perform tests to find the nature of the symptoms so we could prescribe medication. He said yeah he could do it but it's something he doesn't usually do. Then he proceeded to yell obscenities about me to a blonde nurse after he left the room of which I was in ear shot... he left the door open! Basically he was upset I was an educated customer and pressured him to... run medical tests to diagnose my symptoms. The blonde nurse entered and had the wrong test in mind (a test for a very serious disease that had nothing to do with my symptoms) when I asked her to pump the breaks she got snappy. I convinced her to double check the name of the test. As she left to do that she banged into the patient table and smashed my foot. when she got back, turns out I was right. she said she had given me wrong information regarding the test. She was wrong -- but then she proceeded to belittle me anyway...? She's either an ***hole or the ER Doctor programmed her to treat me like that... or both? Either way that was Enough -- I said no test. I refuse service. But definitely gave her piece of mind to her on the way out. Here's more: To the doctor and nurse who belittled me: you work at the ER to treat patients. Most importantly: you should treat them with kindness and humanity. Your unprofessional behavior was a bad a reflection of ER at The Lakes. Your actions are unbecoming of the medical profession as a whole. -- if ER at The Lakes comes with some sort of Action Plan I would remove this review. This was one of the worst experiences I've had, I would rather sit in an ER for hours then go back, it was not busy at all and they stuck me in a room with an IV and I was there for nausea and dizziness and they didn't send me home with anything to help with that in fact I didn't feel any better when I left there and was there for 4 hours again this place was not busy at all. My husband had tripped and fallen, sprained his ankle and had a very bad infection from rubbing up against a bush, nevertheless we chose this ER to go to because it was close to the home, the minute we walked in the door we were greeted with a security guard that brought us right in the back. Jessica, which was the head nurse was exceptional very friendly and knowledgeable, not to mention Dan and Tyler. They were also exceptional. I would highly recommend this to anyone. read more

As a former ER nurse at Henry Ford Hospital in the inner city of Detroit and changing my position in risk/safety, service excellence and performance improvement for the same ER i know now patient management should be conducted. I would never go back to this ER. I have been a nurse for 40 years, now retired. I had a chigger infestation. I tried homeopathic treatments that did not work so I called Pest Control Solutions that treated inside and out. My mistake was not having the furniture when asked. The chiggers went to the furniture. Having over 100 bites in three weeks, no exaggeration , I started getting a reaction to the acid the chiggers injected. The reaction I had was severe tremors. I decided to go to the Lakes ER instead of a hospital ER. The only physical assessment I received was when the PA asked to look at my throat. When I tried to share my symptoms, the nurses were not interested with my condition. I was given the standard allergy medication that did not work. No one ever provided an assessment of my open sores to check for possible infection. Finally I got the PA to give me Valium IV and it took 20 minutes to work. I was then told I was going to receive IV Ativan and IV Haldol then I would be sent home. I asked if I could wait 30 minutes because of the high strength of the medication and medication which can cause sedation I was told no because it was safe so I went home, called my doctor for treatment of oral Valium My sister in law who is a physician and chairman of her department in Michigan was appalled at the care I received. Henry Ford Hospital's ER saw up to 300 patients with many serious conditions between 3 pm and 5 am. I saw tragic and horrendous conditions in that ER. However, all the nurses conducted a complete assessment,....no matter how busy it was in the nurse talked to the patient to get a history unless the patient was a trauma. A good nurse could accomplish this by combining a verbal history and while completing a physical assessment. It's was obvious the nurses either didn't think my condition was important or couldn't do two things at one time. I liked my PA, he listened. The doctor however told me my painful tremors was not an emergency; he was no doubt poorly trained because that would happen at an ER which treats 100,000 patients a year. I was able to conduct assessments and could conduct a verbal assessment, listening to the patient at the same time, (if the patient could talk) even if critical. If the ER is so busy to care for a large number then more medical staff is necessary. To close, go somewhere else. read more

I've never had a bad experience here everytime i've taken my child or myself here we are always cared for and are able to get in fairly quick and out in a jiffy especially in slower days. Busy days are longer but every doctor i've encountered has been pleasant especially with my toddler. They've treated us multiple times within the span of 2-3 years and i don't think we'll ever go anywhere else for urgent care in the future. Physician asked me what's wrong. Positive Covid test. Physician asked me what I want them to do, will test and walked away. The nurse came up and shoved a swab in my nose without mentioning may have burn sensation am actually okay however you don't stick a needle without telling there will be a prick sensation. I'm just a baby. The staff asked for my ID and didn't use it and staff spelled my name wrong all over my test and my insurance paperwork. Also, now I must call back to get my name correct and ekg stickers were left all over me. Me and my twin boys went there last night (12/4/2024) and the front desk let me know they didn't have pediatric specialists there but they can most definitely exam pediatric patients, which was fine with me because they needed their lungs listened to and whatnot. Dr. Justin was our physician for the night and OMG he was just amazing. I've never had that experience at a hospital/emergency facility where they specialized in pediatric care. The way he was with my boys who were crying and have ear infections and super congested and coughing, he was so patient with them and helped them so much. He explained everything so throughly to me. Their staff last night was amazing especially dealing with 2 babies at once can be challenging, but everyone was so nice to me and my kiddos. I also had my 4 year old with me, and as we were leaving and packing up in the car, the security runs out and hands me a gallon zip lock of coloring activities and a stethoscope for my 4 year old, and it said something like future healthcare provider. 10/10 Thank you for helping us. read more

I went to this ER for debilitating pelvic pain that was causing difficulty walking. I believe the woman who evaluated me was a PA, very nice but she was unable to explain where my pain was coming from at all, despite me telling her it felt like nerve pain and could be reproduced upon pulling the tissue laterally and transferring up and down from a chair. She told me to go home and take a bath. From there I went on to see PCP and colorectal specialist, none of who could explain my symptoms, despite me telling them exactly how to turn the pain on and off (by that point). I went to a physical therapist who reproduced it, fixed it within 40 minutes and showed me how to treat it should it ever return. I don't blame this PA for not performing nerve tension tests if it's not within her scope, but ERs really should have providers skilled in physical exam. This medical hoopla ended up costing at least $1300 when all was said and done, after "using insurance" whatever that means these days. I wish I just went first to the PT who knew how to do a physical exam. ERs should think about hiring physical therapists or someone very good at understanding musculoskeletal and in this case peripheral nerve pain. read more

The doctor did absolutely nothing didn't even ask questions. I've never seen a doctor so disconnected. All they did was my blood work . Told me I don't need a blood transfusion . But after looking at the copy of my bloodwork everything was all over the place .. definitely not normal. He did not explain anything to me . Here's the best part just checked my insurance claims and they are trying to charge my insurance over $6,000. I could have ordered the blood test through quest for less then 100.$ I will be calling insurance and filing a fraud claim . This place is a scam ! The only great thing about this ER is that there was no wait to get seen. However, that is where it ends. Some employees were nice. The doctor was not! We came because my one year old had a fever and a really bad cough. He literally looked at us with disappointment in his eyes and said we need to try to keep the fever down. They gave her Tylenol and made us wait in the sad, cold room for almost an hour. We saw the doctor for probably 1-2 minutes and never saw him again. We were given a prescription for antibiotics and were told to follow up with our pediatrician. If you want caring and compassionate medical professionals, turn away. This place isn't it. read more

I myself have had a bad visit with him. He turned for foot, without warning her, and put her in more pain. I have never been more disrespected by customer service reps in my life. The person I talked to on Monday basically told me I was lying about a thousand dollar bill that I received. When I literally had an active payment agreement. This time I ended up back in their ER with pneumonia. I called to see if I could get an inhaler and the person on the other end of the phone was extremely rude and hung up in my face. Not to mention when I was in their facility. I ended up there for over 3 hours from midnight to 3 am. I wasn't offered a blanket and when I had to ask for one I was given a sheet. Not even offered a cup of water either. But no more blatant disrespect than what I received over the phone. This place needs to have a higher standard for the low lifes that they have answering calls. read more

Surprised at all the bad experiences because Dr.Kolb and the nurses I encountered were great. My husband had a dumb moment and tripped down the last stairs and just fell right to where he was in a lot of pain the next morning. Nothing broken and nothing pinched just bad inflammation that eventually went away but glad they gave him steroid meds to quicken up the process. He also didn't go straight to the heavy pain meds but which I am glad for because this city is a mess when it comes to drugs and people seeking pain meds. As far as billing, 100$ bill after insurance and that was it. this is considered an emergency room facility and not a quick care, so yes you will get charged like an ER hospital. I've always looked ahead for providers and what services are covered under my insurance and networkwise so I don't get screwed in medical bills. Unfortunately the ER is not somewhere anywhere wants to be or it shouldn't be that common to be at one but unfortunately for my wife and myself we are here often. We have had many visits to several Hospitals and ER at the lakes is by far the best place we both have been to ever. Staff here are extremely caring,helpful and make you feel noticed. My wife during pregnancy deals with really bad Nausea and gets extremely sick on a daily and weekly basis and unfortunately but also fortunately we end up here and I wouldn't recommend any other place. One point I'd like to make here is that out of all ERs we have visited in the area and also back home in California, Er at the lakes by far has made us feel the safest and has made us have that reassurance that we will be treated with 100%care at all or anytime 24/7.
