Surgery and things went well, but the billing and over charging was insane. Originally confirmed at check out no extra charges. Later got a bill for $50,000. Spent months going back and fourth and finally got it down to $3,300. This was for lipoma removal. The company was trying to charge the insurance company for things not done and when they denied it they came after me. Then they changed their LLC to try and get more from the insurance company again. Pretty shady. Very frustrating. read more

Today was a great experience for my outpatient lipoma removal! I've had a lipoma on my neckline for quite some time and it began feeling uncomfortable, so I was referred to Dr. Jonathan Chino who utilizes the Durango Outpatient Surgery Center and scheduled my procedure. The entire staff including Marie at registration, Riley for pre-op, and Lauren for recovery were amazing! Very friendly, patient, and knowledgeable. The waiting room is large, modern, has fun TV shows playing, and a coffee machine. The anesthesiologist explained the procedure thoroughly so I knew what to expect. OR nurses were also kind and fast. I was wheeled in at my planned time, greeted, hooked up, and had the surgery done quickly. I was in a twilight (sedation without a breathing tube) so I could feel some of the numbing medication and hear the initial clanking of surgical equipment/tools when they started, but no pain, and that is what was explained to me. Then I drifted off, and woke up in recovery. I came home, took a nap and now feel a little tired and mildly sore, but it's the afternoon and my surgery was this morning. Dr. Chino recommended taking Tylenol when I got home, so I'm not chasing pain. So far so good! Thanks everyone! Highly recommend!! read more

Going into a surgery center is always causes a little anxiety. From the moment I stepped into the Durango Surgery Center, my fears were calmed. I was treated in a friendly, knowledgeable and compassionate manner. Everyone I encountered was amazing. Joyce, Yolanda, Larry, Heidi, Dr. Wentz, and the anesthesiologist (sorry, I forgot his name) were some of the folks that made my visit comfortable. However, this is not an all-inclusive list as the receptionist and support nurses were great as well (I just can't remember all of the names). Very competent and caring! This review is for everything but the doctor and nurses, who were empathetic and great. The reception staff could be warmer, and the billing department are terrible to work with. I came in for quickly-planned, unexpected surgery, and felt pressured during the payment plan process. The statements on the patient billing portal are inaccurate, and now my account is on hold due to "internal issues" not related to my bank or payments. I was told that my next automatic payment will be processed in about a month or more, so then I will be hit with two payments at once. Be warned. read more

In a city that offers some of the worst medical care in the country, this place shines. From start to finish, my husband had a great experience here. We arrived and were promptly checked in. Clerks were so happy to see us and made us feel welcome. We had completed all the necessary paperwork online so check in was a breeze. We waited a short time and Jamie came out and escorted us back to the pre-op area. She was friendly, kind and professional just what one expects from a good nurse. She explained what was going to transpire and answered all questions. The doctor arrived and the anesthesiologist. Both very friendly and professional. Once my husband was prepped I quickly excused myself to wait in the waiting room. This room offers, water, soda, coffee, big comfortable chairs and a TV if you need it. Before I knew it, they called me back as the surgery was over and it was successful. I waited a short time for my husband to wake up fully, got him dressed and we were on our way. I am very appreciative of this facility and their staff. I strongly believe that other facilities could learn from this center. Quality care indeed! read more

I had knee surgery here a few weeks ago. The place looks brand news everywhere you look. The people are amazing, kind and seem to really care. That makes a difference. Unfortunately my Doctor was 3 hours behind. We arrived at 8:20 and I was finally wheeled back to surgery at lunchtime. The only negative was the hospital bed. It was so uncomfortable that after 3 hours my back had flared up in major pain. After surgery my knee felt ok, just a small amount of discomfort. My back however was jammed up in a terrible knot. It hurt way worse than my knee. Now my knee is feeling better and I am working on stretching my back muscles so my back pain will settle down. Dr. Bradford did a good job on my knee and it does not hurt like it did prior to surgery. My back is still knotted up but is finally starting to ease up. read more

It looked like a weird coffee shop/ Internet cafe for folks that didn't know how to use computers. A big white room, what looked like a serve- yourself coffee station, 2 giant tv monitors, 3 or 4 people. BUT... the sign said Durango outpatient surgery center, so I went in. The lady on the other side of the glass said "sign in please I'll be right with you." And she wasn't kidding! EVERYONE there was, very friendly, cordial, extremely professional. I talkin bout, THE BOMB.COM From the waiting/ registration room to the recovery room Their shizzle was tight as nuns kitty-cat. Last time my knee was scoped was roughly 20 years ago, in Cali. A top surgeon, he and his buds hooked up their own " outpatient surgical center" Actually, it was a whole bunch of trailers, maybe like five or six huge trailers hooked up together in a giant parking lot. The lot was adjacent to both the largest hospital and medical offices in the area. Business was booming. Fast forward to the present. I'm amazed at the efficiency,speed and quality spewed out, all over the place by these various health practitioners. Unfortunately, I've had enough orthopedic/ surgical episodes involving my knees to qualify as a lay-expert. You can not go wrong with these folks! It was my first time at this venue. I actually was dropped off for my procedure almost 1 hour in advance, but the clerk in the waiting room welcomed me and expedited the check in process. I was only waiting for about 5 minutes (the waiting room is comfy, clean, has outlets and areas for people to wait and enjoy beverages, a television, and comfy seating. After I got checked in, the staff was very considerate of my needs and made sure that I understood my procedure for the day. When the anesthesiologist and doctor arrived, they made sure that I understood (in great detail) about the procedure and the method used to put me under anesthesia. My husband (ride home) was contacted in real time via text to be updated about my procedure. When I woke up in my area post procedure, the staff made sure that any needs were addressed and I knew where the restroom or call buttons were (in case of need). Unfortunately, my husband's car battery died before he could get to me, so the staff was able to get me set up in another area with a comfy seat, tv, and call button. They were very attentive and made sure to check in on me regularly. It felt like I was one of their own employees or a relative. When it was time to leave, they made sure to assist me to the vehicle and were very courteous throughout the entire time. Based on mt experience, I wouldn't hesitate to refer people to this facility for their needs. Keep up the good work. read more

I had surgery on December 5th , never had surgery in my life . My Surgeon Dr. is Dr.Miles and she sent me here and I am so so so thankful for it . When you walk in you feel safe and like you'll be in good hands and I definitely was . The front desk lady was AMAZING and made sure everything was done right and you were ok. I was extremely nervous and on edge about my surgery but the minute I walked in I knew I was going to be ok.. it was so clean and neat in the waiting room. . I got to the back quickly . When I got to the back the lady in the back was super nice and helped me stay calm and walk through my whole surgery with me so I knew exactly what was going to be done and answered all my questions made sure I was comfortable once I got changed in and in bed . She didn't do a thing without explaining it first which I appreciated more than she knew !! She knew I was nervous and I asked for something to just help me relax so once I met my Anesthesiologist I got something right away to calm my nerves. My anesthesiologist was so so so nice, professional,talked to me about everything that would happen, he was just cool,sweet, chill and made sure I felt ok and I knew what was going on.. after I met him it wasn't long until I went bs I for surgery and even in the surgery room everyone was nice oh and after I changed and was in the back I did see my doctor and we talked and I LOVE Dr.Miles,Mellisa she's so so wonderful!! But everyone in the surgery room was super sweet as well. I was out and awake in no time and going home .. I can't thank everyone enough for my first time experience having surgery it was WAY better than I thought! Really nice experience here. Located in a large medical office building at Durango/Sunset, one block off the 215. Lots of parking. Currently there are no visitors allowed but there is seating in the lobby of the building. We were met outside the office to check in and get my temperature taken. Carrie was very friendly and answered many of my questions. She also offered to let us wait outside the office so we could stay together until I was called back. All of the staff here were friendly and knowledgeable. My pre-op nurse did a great job with my IV and informing me of the process. My OR nurse Miriam was awesome. Very nice and comforting, she really put me at ease before taking me back to the OR. Before I knew it I was waking up and the post op nurse was right there checking on me. After about 20 mins I was released. They give you chocolate chip cookies after taking you to the pick up area in a wheelchair. Great service! For those waiting/picking up patients: Durango surgery center will send you texts of the entire process so you know where the person is at all times. There is a McDonalds in easy walking distance or you can drive across the 215 to several different restaurants/businesses. I definitely recommend Durango Surgery center for any minor surgeries/procedures and wouldn't hesitate to come back in the future. read more

Here for a small little procedure and walk in and check in and everything is dandy until the receptionist calls me up and she seems like she needed a sandwich and a nap. Like good lord the attitude on her was unbelievable. She didn't seem like she knew what she was doing and then when she was going to put on my wrist band she told me it has to be on the left........ummm no it doesn't. Personal reasons I can't have it on my left and she wanted to get a bigger attitude and wanted details on why. ITS NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS. It's personal!!!!!!!! So she snapped it away and crumbled it up and told me to go sit and a nurse will have to put it on me. Yeah well that still will not be on my left wrist. PERIOD. Don't argue with a patient. If it's personal, then it's personal and quit digging because you are nothing and no one to me so you are just on a need to know basis and all you need to know is that it's personal. I am impressed with the level of service and professionalism of the entire staff. Stemming from the receptionist to the surgeon. This is the first outpatient center to offer pod coffee. That is next level. Most companies offer day old pot coffee that tastes burnt after sitting out for several hours. The care is exceptional. I felt very comfortable and the information provided before, during, and after my procedure covered all questions & concerns. Again, the first place to also offer me a beverage and a cookie after my procedure. These simple gestures go a long way. I only get juice and a cookie after donating blood, not after a procedure. read more

Very hard to get a hold of the financial department here. I have surgery scheduled 9/14 which my Ortho set up on 8/22 and to date, no one has called me back to advise if there is a copay or not for surgery. I've never heard of a provider waiting this late to let someone know if there are monies due when surgery is one week away.. Pretty disappointing experience already. read more

The billing department withdrew hundreds of dollars from my card without my consent. Every month they duplicate charge my card for the same amount I already paid on my original date of service. I have now paid the Same charge several times. They are literally ROBBING MY BANK ACCOUNT. ***Update*** I requested that all information be mailed to me in writing so that I can address any mistaken outstanding balance with my insurance company. I was threatened with being sued I was told they would absolutely NOT send me any information via mail and in writing, I requested to speak with a supervisor and then I was put on hold for a duration of 3 minutes after which I was hung up on. I called back, they said the manage is not available. My insurance company confirms No outstanding balance. Durango continues to steal money from my account every month. read more

I had the pleasure of using this facility for my foot surgery on October 29, 2021. From start to finish every one was outstanding, positive attitude and Incredibly thorough. First of all they are not very helpful, they won't tell your portion of the surgery until literally the day before the procedure. Which makes no sense because if the price they give me is too much I'm going to cancel and then all of you are going to miss out on $$$. It'll be short of time to fill the spot. I hate the way you do business. It's funny I was supposed to of had this same procedure in March and a week before the surgery they called and said my copay was $3400 I told them to cancel it. I've been to this center many times over the years, the staff is Always wonderful, the whole process is made more pleasant than one would expect for the nature of the visit. Everything is clearly laid out, from making the appt arrangements, to the pre-procedure process, to the check out instructions. The facility is pleasant, always impeccably clean. I appreciate the coffee, etc. for my husband, and the waiting room is nicer than most. The staff is Extremely competent, and it's very, very, clear that the entire system is a well oiled machine. I have that experience consistently, regardless of the doctor and/or procedure I'm having done. I know I can expect a professional, yet friendly experience/environment. They come across as more compassionate than most surgery/facility staff I've experienced at other facilities, including a kind follow up call in the next day or two. Everyone has great bedside manner. I also don't get overcharged, and the payment process is convenient. I appreciate that I am informed what I will be paying upfront, even ahead of time, and being contacted with the payment information over the phone is extremely helpful. I've been to quite a few facilities in the past few decades, and honestly, Durango Surgery Center is truly a cut above anywhere else I've been. It's actually somewhat of a relief when I'm told that my procedure will be performed there. I know that my whole experience at the center can be relied on to be the same quality of excellent care I've always experienced. I'm always impressed by how consistently high the level is care is, not just from visit to visit, but across the whole company which indicates to me they hold a very high standard for their entire operation. If I sound like I'm gushing, I am. I wish all of my procedures could be done here, or by this company. My in-patient operations vary from hospital to hospital, depending on where the surgeon is affiliated, and compared to what I experience here at Durango, they are nearly always a nightmare, sometimes truly horrific. I truly appreciate how well I am taken care of at Durango, from absolute beginning to end of my visits. Before my surgery I had so much anxiety and I was so scared for the surgery. When I arrived at the hospital went up to the 2nd floor and was greeted by Angelina with a smile and so gracious, then followed by Eileen another polite with smiling face. After 20 mins at the receiving area Melissa Pre-op nurse greeted me and assuring me that I will be fine. All the nurses, Jess, Melissa, Nikki, Kristy made my short stay very pleasant and comfortable. Anesthesiologist Dr. Feng and surgeon Dr. John Ryan were absolutely professional and courteous. I couldn't asked for any other surgical team that treated me with respect and made my stay awesome. I've been here 6 times and the customer service has usually been fantastic (except for the doctor being late almost every time...one time was about 90 minutes and the last was 30 minutes).  This last time, though, was extremely bad. I have bad back pain because I've been in a wheelchair for over 9 years and I've been going here to get shots in my back (which help a LOT). I was taken to the back to get prepped for my shots and the anesthesiologist asked if I lived by myself.  I said yes.....like I ALWAYS have.  He said, "Sorry, but I'm not going to give you anything because you need someone to be with you for 24 hours." That's odd because I had already had the procedure done at this place FIVE times before and never had a problem.  On top of that, I had the procedure done at least 25 times at a different clinic and never had a problem getting gas there too.  Ever.  I told him that and he didn't care. Plus, I once had a biopsy and there was no problem getting gas.....just like when I had a colonoscopy where they REALLY knock you out and there was NO PROBLEM with my living alone.  Told him that too and he still said he wasn't going to give me any gas. I asked, "Can I get another anesthesiologist?" as they have a few of them there and was told, "Sorry, once you've been prepped, you can't change."  Complete joke.  It got worse. The doctor came in and said, "Sorry, it's up to him if he does it or not but don't worry, I'll give you something so you don't feel anything." Well, that was a lie because EVERY time he put that LONG needle in me, it HURT like CRAZY.  I'm curious as to why the doctor didn't stop and say, "I told him I'd give him something so he couldn't feel this.  What I did (if anything) didn't work as he's OBVIOUSLY in pain from this.  I need to give him something more/better." Instead, he just kept shoving long needles into my back even though it HURT each time he did it....and he KNEW it because he told the nurses to "Hold him down" after each shot.  When they took me back to "recovery", my blood pressure was the highest it's been in 4 years.....partly from the PAIN and partly because I was SO MAD. I bet the anesthesiologist still bilked my insurance for it because he was in the room during it and "wheeled me back" after it was over instead of letting the nurse do it. The worst part is this is the first time the shots didn't help.  I told them the worst pain was in my lower middle back and he gave me shots on the sides of my back....which he had done in a previous visit.  Don't know if that was supposed to help my lower back but it did nothing.  So, all that pain getting the shots and no relief. So, several reasons why this trip was flat-out AWFUL.  Don't know why they couldn't switch him out....or have me sign a waiver....or why the doctor lied about giving me something so I wouldn't feel it.  Instead of giving me something for the pain, like he said he would, he told the nurse to "hold him down" and kept injecting me. It was over 2 weeks ago and I STILL hear the doctor saying, "Hold him down" when I was in OBVIOUS pain instead of doing something for me for it. read more
