My water heater had been giving me trouble over the last couple of months, shutting off sporadically. While I was usually able to reset it myself, it finally gave out completely. There was no gas coming through the line, and it just wouldn't ignite. I called Shellback, and within two hours, Moises arrived at my place. He was incredibly responsive, immediately diagnosed the issues, and gave me a clear breakdown of the work needed and the estimated timeline. The fix required replacing both the thermal pilot assembly and the gas control valve. Since the parts were covered under the manufacturer's warranty, he had to source them from an authorized dealer. To make sure we weren't left completely out in the cold, Moises got the gas ignitor working temporarily on day one. By 9:00am the very next morning, he had already picked up the warrantied parts and finished the permanent replacement! As a great bonus, he also flushed the water heater for routine maintenance before wrapping up. I was blown away by the turnaround time. I called Extreme Plumbing for a backed up sewage system which had overflowed into our shower and…read moremaster bathroom. Alen was our main contact, although the entire team worked hard to restore our system as quickly as possible. Initially, I thought the problem just needed a rooter to clear the blockage like it has in the past. The initial quoted price was for the rooter, and I was told the price would not change without discussion. If only it had been that simple. As things go, the problem was more complicated, and they could not clear the drain. Bad news. After some discussion and an adjusted price, the next step was to use the sewer camera which resulted in determining there were some blockages that could not be cleared. It turned out that the sewer line had issues with two trees in our front yard; their roots were collapsing the original terracotta sewage line. The camera revealed 2 collapsed sections which needed repair and holes would need to be dug; in total, 60' of sewer line needed replacement. Another adjusted, reasonable price was given. Additional complications came up but Alen and his team handled them with determination. In the end, 3 other inside drains needed to be snaked or rooted out as a result of the initial blockage. All done, the cost, while substantial, was as expensive as expected, and it included a warranty. We will be doing a kitchen renovation in the near future, and will be using Extreme Plumbing for that and all our plumbing needs going forward.
