I was trying to remove and replace the cushions on my Beats Studio headphones, which were wearing down and peeling. I bought a Groupon and they fixed my phone within 45 minutes, just enough time for me to go down the street and spend more money than I needed to at Akira. The response on my phone is slightly slower, but I didn't expect perfection since I know this is not an Apple replacement. The staff was friendly, and the hours work with a tough schedule. My phone did stop responding at the top, about a month after I got it fixed there. However I called and they said that they would take a look for free, and they replaced it for free. It is still slow to respond, but again I prefer this to the out rages price Sprint and Apple tried to charge for screen replacement. I brought in my iPhone X for a screen repair. Paid $90 not too shabby. A day later, the screen starts glitching. I bring it back because of the 90 day warranty and was told by the employee that the phone had physical damage and "how are they suppose to know if that contributed to the screen going back out?" So I paid another $90 to get the screen repaired again. Literally two days later, same glitching screen. I take it back and again the same excuse as to why it doesn't fall under warranty. I know for a fact I hadn't dropped that phone so it was not due to any new physical damage. After going back and forth, the staff was very rude and disappeared into the back. I recently managed to do what I'd successfully avoided for the past 11 years of cell phone use -- I knocked my beloved Galaxy SIII off of a countertop (case still attached!) in such a way that it landed flat against my stone floor and cracked the screen. I researched various stores, enlisted the suggestions of fellow friends in the city, and compared prices against what my mandatory T-Mobile insurance plan deductible would have been (which would have been a shocking $150 and taken over a week to take care of!) After a few days of deliberation, I decided to try eRepairSolution. They're right around the corner from my apartment and although I'd seen a few bad reviews, I'd heard a rumor that they recently came under new management. I decided to stop in for a quote and arrived in their store at 7 pm on a weekday. The two men I spoke to were polite and sincere. They quoted me $100 and assured me it would be ready by the next morning. They took the time to explain that most cell phone repairs are faster than that -- generally 15 minutes or so -- but because of my phone type they would need time to let the glue set. Even then, if I'd been able to come earlier in the day, they would have had it done in a few hours. I picked it up the next day and everything looked great! The new manager (maybe owner or co-owner? I'm not sure) Sam was especially helpful. As he was ringing me up, he told me to come back if anything went wrong or if there was anything unsatisfactory about the repair. I had a groupon to get my screen fixed, and got it fixed very quickly here. Then a month later my touch screen stopped working, touch issues and I couldn't even use most of my phone. So I took it back in and they fixed it again, but we'll see if it lasts. They did fix it at no extra cost, even though I was a few days past their '30 day guarantee' policy. If it breaks again I'm just going to Apple. I wish I would have gone there in the first place. I found this place on yelp! I have had my iphone 4s for a few years now, and dropped it too many times to count. Each time, I have picked it up, and it has been fine.
