If you haven't heard of Erewhon yet you may be living under a rock. Erewhon is so on brand with a certain LA stereotype, haling itself as the grocery designer store. Forget keeping up with the Joneses; we're here to clobber them. When you go inside you are transported into a different world. The smell of a higher tax bracket is in the air, mixed with candles of unicorns and aura crystals. Jokes aside, at least this location is slightly bigger and more modern than most so it's not as cramped, though it still kind of is. They've definitely elevated the ordinary grocery store experience to something; don't want to be confused and mixed up with the poors and too-commercial whole foods shoppers, you know? Depending on when you go, anywhere between 10 and 50 percent of shoppers are just there for the food court, mostly to have the honor to have their lips blessed by those bougie $20+ smoothies. If you went to Erewhon and didn't get a Hailey Bieber smoothie, did you even go? Jokes on us because they have such strong brand recognition, they are probably charging their suppliers an inclusion fee to proudly list them as part of the ingredients. Not many can boast the same level of cultural cachet. The staff is extremely friendly and likely underwent intense training which surely prepared them to masterfully deal with any do-you-know-who-l-am Karen and diffuse the situation by assuring them they are indeed the most important person in the world. As a bonus, you'll get to practice your valley girl accent, like oh my god like literally no joke, I'm so dead right now... So you may be asking if those smoothies are worth the exorbitant prices but that would be the wrong question. Going back to the analogy with designer brands - many charge not based on how much it costs to make the garment but what the market would bear; the price is not so much a byproduct of the means of production but the main deterrent helping to weed out the other in order to form the it crowd (some may call it the fan base, others a cult). So when someone is rocking the $150+ Erewhon tote bag, it's not because they thought it cost more than $15 to produce but because having it is used a signal to others about their status and values. read more

I honestly love their pizza and soft serves! The soft serve is a vegan coconut soft serve and the texture is so soft and the flavor is so good. The mad chip one is really good but I usually like making my own too with granola, strawberry, and peanut butter! Their pizzas are also very good they are a pretty big slice for being $8 and it's the perfect crispiness at the bottom and very flavorful at the top. I just don't like their sushi I've had a few different ones and it's overhyped besides their onigiri I LOVE their spicy tuna onigiri. I will also say the hot food bar is kinda overhyped as well. Ana the assistant manager is truly incompetent and rude to customers. I simply wanted a smoothie and I got an attitude. She seems to pick and choose whom to be nice to. I'm a Latino male and it seems that she had me wait a while 45 minutes for a smoothie and then had the nerve to tell me to be patient. To a customer! She acted as if I was I. The way of her job instead of me being the job. If I'm paying 21 dollars for a smoothie I don't want to be talked down to. Went here today and ordered the Hailey Bieber strawberry smoothie. It was crowded but the smoothie came out in less than 10 minutes and was delicious! So much better than the first time I tried it at this location. Their juice bar has really improved on efficiency and consistency and I appreciate that. The staff is always friendly and smiling. You're paying a premium price for premium products- that's not the problem. The store is small and the isles are barely big enough for one person. So now you're not just dealing with rude people all around you not saying excuse me, you're also dealing with Staff walking in and out of isles (doing there job) but it's not big enough for them to do that and for you to shop at the same time. Silverlake is my favorite Erewhon location! This place is great for having casual lunch. I'm a fan for their hot bar. I went for lunch at 11 am because that's when they begin to serve lunch items at the hot bar. Tip - try to go around 11 for their lunch items to get them fresh! My go to side is always the kale and white bean salad. As for a main, I got the miso black cod. Lastly, I got the mighty greens as a side as well. Everything I got was delish and filling! Finally tried out the Hailey Bieber smoothie and it really lived up to the expectations. Stopped by on Saturday after lunch and this location was busy. The aisles were all crammed with people and there were a few workers passing out samples making the aisles hard to walk in. We bought two kombucha drinks, one water, and the smoothie and spent about $50. The store is beautiful and well organized. All the produce looked fresh and the hot foods looked delicious. Parking: there is free valet under the supermarket. Street parking around but the easiest is the dirt lot across the street. There is a security guard there. Can fill up but people come and go. Hailey Bieber smoothie: $19 a pop. It's a basic smoothie but what makes it special is the coconut and strawberry swirls. The special swirls make it delicious. The other smoothies are really good as well. Sushi Sandwich: $20 - sounds expensive but even sushi rolls at regular restaurants now cost around $15. Even though it's refrigerated and premade, the rice is still crispy. Peanut butter: $8 for the peanut butter PLUS $2 for the mason jar deposit. It tastes like any other freshly ground peanut butter ( like the ones you can find at Whole Foods). Pizza slices: around $8. Surprisingly affordable and a big slice! One slice takes up the entire box. They were really salty, but maybe it depends on the type of pizza. read more

Over-rated! I've been here a few times and the smoothies are so expensive and bland. Skip it and go to Naturewell a few minutes away. The deli food is very good--although you could probably buy a meal at a real cafe for less. The pre packed food does have a few more affordable options. From the chef's sushi special, there were only two rolls that I actually liked. Most had too much going on. The actual market is pretty small. This place has complimentary valet parking, so the service here is amazing. It was a Sunday afternoon, so it was pretty busy and just about noisy as any other market. As you would guess, most of everything here is very expensive for what you get. But, I was actually surprised to find some things that are very affordable. I got the Hailey Bieber Skin Smoothie from the juice bar. It was about $22, which was wayyy overpriced. My wife said it's because of two things: her name and the sea moss that's in it. So, I don't know where to begin with this establishment because my wife wanted me to see this place and warned me I would be disgusted by what I would see. She wasn't wrong because I am not sure how anybody that lives here or visits for that matter can afford anything they sell. I was most disgusted by the smoothie bar, hot bar, pasta bar, pizza bar, just everything in general when it came to pricing. I saw they were selling a smoothie for 20 bucks or more and that is ridiculous. The parking here was also ridiculous as you have to climb a hill and they have the nerve to have a person watching for how long you actually park. Why 3-stars? Well because the place was at least clean and very organized but it seems the employees were working like robots because things were almost to organized if that doesn't sound to crazy. I did buy some thrilling bacon because it is absolutely delicious and is extremely hard to find. The price for the bacon was $13.99 for an 16 ounce package of bacon...uuuggghhh!
