Came here to try the infamous Hailey Biebs smoothie. I knew it was going to be expensive for a smoothie but didn't want knock it til I tried it. The smoothie was a good strawberry smoothie. It was large size and I get it, it has quality ingredients but I still can't justify the price. If you have the money then hey why not. Glad I tried it once but it doesn't have a flavor where I'm craving for it again. The actual store was very nice and clean. They have lots of employees. Overall friendly employees. The store feels small bc they have so many aisles. And also the aisles are very narrow. That was strange bc there's barely any room to move past another person. They have a lot of organic and fresh food. I don't mind coming back if in the area to try their ready to eat items but I would not shop here on a regular basis. It tastes like a strawberry smoothie with a hint of coconut. It was a good smoothie but for $19, it's a luxury. I probably would only get it when I want to treat myself. The staff here is so NICE & HELPFUL! I wish I remembered the team members' names who helped me on a Tuesday night closing shift. Everyone from produce, throughout the store, & checkout. The celery was in beautiful condition. One cashier helped me to my car across the street. You can tell that the staff really enjoys working here. The overall vibe was very warm. Today I bought a coffee at Erewhon, and it was the worst experience I've ever had there. The drink tasted like burnt coffee without milk, even though I ordered it with raw coconut milk. I've purchased coffee at Erewhon many times before, but this was the first time I encountered such poor quality. When I complained, the management refused to refund me unless I brought back the coffee I had already thrown away. I'm shocked by such low standards of service for a store in this price segment. On top of that, I was surprised by the lack of sanitation -- there were flies crawling on the food displays with prepared meals. I stopped by here while I was in town from Minnesota. Honestly, it was a great experience. I was definitely expecting things to be expensive because that's kind of their reputation. From those intimate isles (seriously tiny unless on the outer walls/paths) to their hot bar/cafe for ordering a variety of food as well as from AM to PM. This store is super cute, well organized and consistently stocked or stocking up throughout the day. I did notice they offer a ton of deals for most items in the store, but are marked up with certain products compared to other chain markets I enjoy, such as Whole Foods, Kroger and so forth. If I hadn't just purchased Uncle Eddie's Vegan Cookies the other day for almost $4 less I'd be inclined to consider shopping here more... The membership for the year is $200 + you need to have their mobile app... Which is pretty efficient. Unfortunately Erewhon as a whole isn't as big as other places so this isn't practical for me in our fluctuating economy... Gas prices, the valet only parking, $9 cookies... Overall I enjoy the vibe, customer services and things I did come across at reasonable prices + the fresh quality produce. Food lifestyle needs and dietary preferences are celebrated in abundance on almost every isle. Household products, miscellaneous and paper goods aren't too bad either. If you dine in you'll have tons to choose from + they give out samples whether you're inside or out of the store itself... Loads of seating out front between the main grocery store and their wine shop, directly diagonal from the front entrance (you'll pass it if entering from the Santa Monica Blvd side of the street). If you're not up for the valet parking structure, street is available, though it can be a journey on top of another journey... Disrespectful Experience -- First & Last Visit (Silver Lake Location) This was my first time at Erewhon (Silver Lake location), and honestly, it left a bad taste in my mouth. I came in as a delivery driver just trying to do my job with care and respect--for my customer, the store, and everyone around me. But the energy I received in return, especially from the cashier Vince C., made me feel unwelcome, disrespected, and frankly, invisible. I was there at 8:04 p.m. on July 10, 2025, and I walked up to Vince because we had already made eye contact--it seemed like he was ready for me. I didn't say anything, just handed over the items and began working to fix an issue with the Uber Eats order. My customer wanted two items removed, which meant I had to pause and work with support to adjust the cart. It was confusing, but I was handling it quickly and calmly. While resolving it, I showed him a barcode that popped up on my app--something I hadn't seen before--and asked if I needed to pay with that. Instead of helping, he muttered something under his breath (which I couldn't fully hear because I had my headphones in) but his tone and facial expression made it clear he was annoyed. There was no line behind me. No rush. No reason for the impatience. I removed my headphones to listen to him properly because I knew he had muttered something under his breath. However, he ignored my efforts to hear what he said, which suggests that he may have said something disrespectful and hurtful. Once I finally paid, Vince turned away, threw his arms up like he was about to explode, and didn't hand me my receipt--which, as a delivery driver, I need to provide proof of the transaction. When I returned to ask for it, he still wouldn't look at me. His co-worker, who was a person of color, kindly gave me the receipt instead. I told Vince "thank you, have a good day" anyway, and he ignored me. Between that and the general energy in the store--like being cut off by other shoppers or feeling invisible in the sushi section--I left feeling small and deeply uncomfortable. As a Latina woman doing gig work, I deserved the same respect and space as anyone else. And I didn't get that here. Shoutout to the sushi chef (who was part of La Raza) for being kind and welcoming--he was the only person who made me feel like I belonged. But overall, Erewhon needs to seriously reconsider how their employees treat people, especially those of us from communities of color who are just doing our jobs. read more

Visited 4 erewhons so far but this was my first time getting the hot food! Wasn't prepared for the price of one plate -- $32 after tax, for one salmon piece, some carrots, and some small veggie dumplings. The price is a bit outrageous for me. especially because we also got a $20 smoothie, a $6 slice of banana bread, and two $8 slices of pizza. So one lunch cost $70+ ... which is pretty crazy. I do have to admit that the pizza slices were HUGE and really tasty (especially the margherita!!! the crust was delicious & perfectly chewy, and the cheese and tomato were very fresh), so those were definitely worth the price at only $8 each. We also got a gluten free pesto slice which was packed with veggies and very flavorful. Definitely recommend the pizza here. The chocolate chip banana bread slice was ok, kinda dry and not super sweet, but wouldn't get it again especially because it was $6. The giselderberry smoothie had a really interesting unexpected flavor! It kinda tasted like a mix of taro + the laffy taffy candy. A weird combination, but it worked. Not too sweet at all, and I loved the addition of almond butter as well. It also looks gorgeous. I like the hailey bieber smoothie better, but this one is also a good pick if you want something different. The smoothie did take a good 20 minutes to come out though, so just be prepared for a wait. Now onto the hot food plate, which I have mixed feelings about. On one hand, the salmon was really good -- very flaky, crispy skin, tasted very fresh. No crazy flavors or sauces or anything -- it's simple but delicious. It's a pretty big portion as well. The roasted carrots looked beautiful and had a punchy lemony flavor. Good, but nothing special imo. The dumplings were the chef special and looked really interesting but tasted pretty standard as far as dumplings go -- they seemed to be filled with some kinda green veggie and were covered in a sweet chili sauce. Again, super aesthetic, but nothing groundbreaking. At $32 for just 3 things, this is probably one of those things I'm trying only once. TLDR recommend the pizza & smoothies! The aisles are so cramped that if you have a cart and someone else is in the aisle, you will not be able to get through. I wasn't sure where the parking was so I found street parking a few blocks down, but from other reviews it looks like there's complimentary valet in a structure underneath. I came to Erewhon with an open mind, curious about the hype. Never been before, and honestly? I wish I never went. Let's start with the matcha -- it's mid at best. Nothing special, nothing worth the price. I've had better at random hole-in-the-wall cafés. Then came the real kicker: one of the employees, some older woman with glasses, kept giving me attitude over her dropping a piece of paper. Apparently me walking in and stepping on it was a personal offense, I didn't even see it fell under me, she kept making passive-aggressive comments like it was my fault. Every time I walked by, she'd click her teeth at me like I was a toddler throwing a tantrum. Weird behavior for a store that thinks it's too good for everyone. To cut to the chase and make this review short and simple, I'll say the food wasn't that spectacular or anything and it was comparable to cafeteria food. The only thing that I thought was somewhat worth the drive was the Hailey Bieber smoothie. The smoothie was sooo good!! Good, but also so pricey. Erewhon is a special store. Definitely a pricey spot- but for fresh food on the go I 100% think it's worth it. They have so many options, from vegan choices to picks for the animal enthusiasts! The sushi section is killer- the rolls are so good and delicious. The cooler weather allows you to grab their mason jar soups- again pricey but so delicious. The smoothie bar is perfect for a healthy drink. I brought my sister here and she fell in love with the store! The services is unmatched. I think when you're paying top level prices, the service should match and this doesn't disappoint. The beef was medium rare and cooked very well, and the other sides were very fresh and tasty too. Nothing mind blowing, but certainly good. I've been a regular at Erewhon for a while now and shop their for my clients multiple times a week, but what happened at the  Silver Lake location in early May was not only unacceptable--it was dangerous.   Around 9:30 PM on a Monday, just before closing, I purchased a Korean short rib burrito  from the hot bar. It was barely lukewarm, definitely not held at the required  135°F or above . Based on touch and taste, it wasn't even  100°F . I ate it shortly after, and later that night, I became  violently ill  with clear symptoms of  food poisoning .   California food safety law is clear: if hot food falls below 135°F, it must be  discarded within 4 hours . But here's the problem--I didn't see  anyone  checking temperatures or tracking holding times. No time-stamped labels, no monitoring, no accountability.   A week later, I returned to the Silver Lake location and spoke with a staff member who confided that  10 Erewhon employees  had  called out sick  that week due to food poisoning. According to them, an internal  Erewhon email  was sent out confirming the outbreak. Those employees all ate from the  same hot bar , using their staff discount.   I emailed Erewhon directly. I received a  generic, dismissive response  that ignored every concern I raised about hot food safety and compliance with health regulations. No apology. No follow-up. Just silence.   This is not about the taste or presentation of a burrito. This is about  public health , and a company that markets itself as wellness-focused while  ignoring serious safety failures  behind the scenes.   How is Erewhon monitoring hot bar food temps? - Are  calibrated thermometers  being used? - Are temps  logged hourly  as required? - Is food  being discarded  after 4 hours if it falls out of temp?   I'm a  professional chef  who understands food safety inside and out. Erewhon charges luxury prices--but this experience showed me they're  cutting corners where it matters most .   If 10 of your own employees get sick from your hot bar, and customers are getting food that's under temp at closing time,  you have a serious problem. read more

My go-to way of describing Erewhon is as a higher-tiered, more visually appealing Whole Foods. For a week day evening, this location can get considerably packed. There is not much parking other than the valet they offer in the parking garage. There was lots of available seating outside which was nice! From a visual standpoint of a grocery store, Erewhon is certainly exquisite. You're welcomed by the bouquets in the front that are beautifully arranged. All the shelves are organized so well and color coordinated. Even the cafe is incorporated so nicely into the layout. I think because everything is so well organized and there is a large variety of items pretty nicely packed together all in one place, the inside seems very intimate. Along with some groceries, I most notably ordered Hailey Bieber's Strawberry Glaze Skin Smoothie. It can only be ordered in one size (large) and costed $18. I would not say I'm particularly a smoothie lover, but this smoothie was absolutely delicious. I genuinely understand why it's raved about. I'm very big on not necessarily being able to taste the 'healthy' ingredients in my smoothies, and this smoothie did excellent at that. I would give it a SOLID 10/10 if it weren't for the price. For this price, it brings it down more to an 8/10. My overall consumer experience here was very nice! I plan on returning at some point for sure. However, my concern is the price point of the products. I understand that the kind of products sold here require a higher price point due to several factors including value and the audience this store is targeted towards. However, Erewhon would truly be boosted to a five star if it were able to deliver their elevated consumer experience at a much more accessible price point. read more

Erewhon is one of those infamous places that you have to try when in LA. The smoothies were nicely done and $20. I guess you pay for the quality of the ingredients so all good. This review is only for the Hailey Bieber smoothie, not for the market. I finally had a chance to stop by here to try out the Hailey Bieber smoothie when I visited a nearby place. It was $19, quite an expensive drink, but it was my lunch for the day. The smoothie tasted very refreshing, although the texture was quite heavy. Because there are so many ingredients in this drink, I'm not sure what makes it taste better than the combination of strawberry and bananas, which are too common. It tasted much better than my expectation, but I don't think the smoothie was healthy with so many great ingredients due to high calories and sugar. The ingredients of the Hailey Bieber smoothie are as follows: Malk Almond Milk, Zuma Valley Coconut Whip, Vital Proteins Vanilla Collagen, Erewhon Sea Moss, Maple Valley Maple Syrup, Hyaluronic Acid, Strawberries, Dates, Avocado, Bananas, Vanilla Stevia, Driscoll's Organic Strawberry Glaze. If you don't have allergies to any of these ingredients, you can try this out. For me, one time to try it was enough, due to the high calories and sugar.
