This is the worst clinic we went to. They are not sure when to give your kid the vaccine. My son was 2 when he came here. He had autism now. The nurse was very lazy. Dr. Wells and Judy are some of the best medical professionals and **people** I have met in my lifetime. When I was a teen I moved to Castro Valley with my paranoid schizophrenic mother. After many visits where I was constantly ill with ear infections, colds, or pneumonia I got to know the office staff really well. Dr. Wells and Judy noticed that I was taking care of myself and my mothers mental illness was preventing her from doing the things a parent should. I was struggling to work and go to highschool. When I turned 18 and had no medical insurance Dr. Wells saw me free of charge until I was 20. I never once got a bill, I never realized until later that was intentional. I was in his office at least twice a month. He tried to offer me incentives to stay in college and further my education. I was stubborn at the time and just wanted to move away from my mom. Judy and Dr. Wells showed compassion and played such an active role in my young life when I needed it the most. As Judy would say I was their first "office daughter." I think about them often and I am forever grateful that they cared not only for my health, but for me personally. They looked at the "whole child" and never just my illness at that moment. The encouragement and helping hand I needed inspired me. Dr. Wells told me often that I don't do things on the standard path, but I get them done on my own time. I am a happy successful adult with my degree that he pushed me to finish. When I look back at the people who shaped my life I think of them. They are rare people who had a profound affect on someone who had bad circumstances. I wish I realized it back then and I could have given them more appreciation. Judy has a fun easy going personality and a smile on her face. Dr. Wells is one of the most highly intelligent pediatricians I have ever met. I have three children and when I choose a doctor he set the standard for what I look for. The bar is really high for my doctors. I once drove 100 miles for him to see my child for a second opinion after my son had a severe accident. His care was excellent and made me feel at ease when the discharging hospital pediatrician did not. Best pediatrician I have ever known. As a parent I would highly recommend Dr. Wells. read more

Long over due! My 2 boys have been going to Dr Wells since birth and he is truly the best Pedi around. He is GREAT with the kids and his nurse Judy is the bomb. His front desk staff are efficient and fast! There are times he is behind schedule, but Dr Wells is worth the wait, he is definitely the children expert. We started taking our three kids to Dr. Wells soon after we moved to town. I liked him, and his office. He took his time talking to me, and I appreciated him getting to know us. He remembered things from one visit to the next, too, and that was great. Unfortunately (and the reason for the three stars) , I just couldn't spend that much time at each appointment. There was usually a long wait. And, he scheduled so far in advance, it was hard for me to plan that far out with work. Brianna has a quiet personality not a rude one, Judy is the best she's got a great funny personality and is great with my daughter especially when giving shots. She answers all my questions and concerns and calls back quickly when I leave after hour messages! Dr. Wells is great with kids too and I love how knowledgeable he is and doesn't mind answering a million of my questions he never rushes our appointment. Eric Wells is a great pediatrician. He sees my 3 yr.old son, 11 yr.old daughter and 14 yr. old son. We've been with him for 4 happy and healthy years. The 3 yr. old loves going for his health checks, and that speaks a lot by itself. The older children have seen him for minor illnesses and skin problems, he's always been very supportive and helpful. I appreciate the time he spends to explain and listen. The nurses are also great. The office tries to run on time, the longest we've waited was 15 minutes. My children are not vaccinated, and although Dr. Wells "educates me " on every visit about vaccination he is respectful of my family's decision. I highly recommend him. read more

Dr. Wells has been our kids' pediatrician for over 3 years now. Dr Wells and Judy have been an amazing care team for our kids. We've got great advise and care all these years. I am surprised how they work around the clock, 24 hours a day. With our first child, we (like any other parent) would get terrified when they got a 103-104 fever. We would leave a message and Judy would respond to our call within 15-30 minutes even if it was the middle of the night and give us proper advise. Dr Wells and Judy always took time to discuss about our kids and their progress during our appointments. I always brought in a list of questions during every appointment and they were patient to answer each one of them in detail. It's really sad that our kids won't be able to see Dr. Wells and Judy again since they are venturing out for a different healthcare provider where our insurance plan doesn't work. But it's just been a pleasure to work with them and I can't thank them both enough. read more

Dr Wells has been the pediatrician for both of my kids since day 1 (2 and half year ago). We are loving every bit of it! He is quite knowledge and has been really detailed-oriented, and most importantly he is caring about the babies with a lot of heart. Judy who is the primary nurse in the office is also such a nice lady, and every time we feel very comfortable to send kids to there to do a check or receive advices. Trust is something that is very hard to build up, especially with your love ones. Here with Dr Wells and two of my kids, we do have 100% trust on them given by the experience we had and are having here. read more

Great Pediatrician. We had to switch to another doctor b/c our prior Pediatrician didn't take our new insurance card. While some people feel like they wait forever in his office, I have to say it's because he takes his time with his patients. It's a trade off. We love Dr. Wells! He is very thorough, very knowledgeable and makes kids feel comfortable. He spends a lot of time with his patients. That does mean that you sometimes have to wait a long time in the waiting room, but visits with him are always worth the wait. He spends time with you and answers all your questions. My daughter (3 years old) loves coming to his office and says she wants to be "a Dr. Wells" when she grows up. They always have been able to squeeze us in when necessary and call back when they say they are going to if you have a question. I have been taking both my 10 yr old and 2 yr old to Dr. Wells since birth. He is a wonderful pedi and my children love him! Dr. Wells and his staff have always been very efficient and reliable. Dr. Wells is a nice man and we really trusted him. He's well educated and articulate and takes his time. But he didn't listen to us about our very valid developmental concerns for our son. He pushed vaccines relentlessly and ignored us when our son had terrible vaccine reactions, and, he kept appalling records. I got the records and basically nothing we ever said was written down and his shots records were appalling. No wonder we got double shots a couple of times. My son is autistic now. We could have been getting him help at 12 months, when we started being seriously concerned, but didn't get him help until he was 2.5 because Dr. Wells didn't listen. Maybe if he had written down our concerns he would have realized there was a pattern. He didn't keep the VAERs report I gave him for our son's file. Yes, our son had that kind of violent vaccine reaction. Dr. Wells was grossly negligent in how he handled our son's care and I warn anyone who has a child who they think may have a problem with vaccines that Dr. Wells will not listen to you and will continue to push vaccinations no matter what harm they cause. He also won't listen about developmental concerns. Our son missed 1.5 years of therapy because he dismissed us over and over until we went to another practice. When I saw his medical file I actually sat down and cried. There was nothing in it. None of the many lists I had taken in, none of the calls, none of the concerns, none of the copies. The receptionist has a horrible attitude. She would be better off working in the burger king drive through. Shes rude and clueless.They schedule you appointments and your not seen until 30 minutes later or longer. The waiting room is so small you have to wait outside before your appointment.. I don't understand how these people have jobs...time to find a new doctor. My daughter needed to be seen for an asthma check up appointment where she was admitted for two days in the emergency room as shes still SICK and cant BREATH we've been sitting in the waiting room for 30 minutes and the receptionist tells us if we don't like the wait we could leave? no. these people are a joke and she shouldnt work around children. read more

After going to Dr. Eric Wells for several years I have not been satisfied with their customer service. Since their nurse Judy works with kids one would assume that she would be in better spirits. I understand that everyone has a "bad day" but her consistent bad attitude has driven me out of their office. Dr. Wells is not the most punctual Dr. and when you have kids to keep under control in a SMALL office or in the waiting area it's not acceptable. I have given them years to come around. I had enough of waiting too long when I have an appointment scheduled and I will not miss Judy's attitude. The front desk girls still don't make up for what this office is lacking. Dr Wells and his staff are not personable, they are rushed, brisk, and rude. There is no well-child waiting room. My son caught a cold when he was one week old, and the nurse laughed and said he probably caught it in the waiting room, yeah, funny. Dr. Wells treated me like I'm stupid, changed his advice from one visit to the next, gave advice that conflicts with anything else I've read, used outdated information. Dr. Wells did not show genuine interest in my son's well being- instead he talked about his own family a lot. I know more about him, his wife, his two children, and his two sisters than he ever knew about my son. We found another pediatrician who is everything that Dr. Wells is not. As a new customer and based on Dr. Eric's reviews on yelp, I called to his office and asked to have an appointment with him for my 6 years old girl. I explained to the receptionist that we have just moved to Castro valley and I want to change my daughter's doctor. Also I said about our insurance which is medical. So she made an appointment for us and reminded me just bring your insurance card. So today I went to the office, and the receptionist surprisingly told me doctor can not visit your daughter since she already has the other doctor, so if you would like Dr. Eric be your girl's doctor you should ask your insurance to change the name on her insurance card! I explained that this is the second time that we change the doctor and the previous time we did not have such problem and the doctor herself requested for changing the name on the card. However, she told me we do not request that from Medical. The question is that why she did not mention any thing in this regard when I called the office for making appointment,so I could prepare for that in advance. Meanwhile, it was not fair that after one week waiting for today's appointment, we could not visit the doctor at all! Even the receptionist did not show any sympathy or saying sorry to us for inconvenient situation and just said you can take your daughter to her current doctor which is in the other city! Such a ridiculous advice! All in all, I believe that all of the people who work in an office to serve others especially patient are important in making an appropriate atmosphere and service. Also, I think that we as human need to be treat as human not as machine or even as a piece of stone. Today I felt that how far are we from humanity! read more

I have been going for three years but I have had enough. The Dr. Is a good Dr. Yet his receptionist and their form of communicating is horrible. The receptionist is unable to do just about everything but to leave a message. She can not check anything on the chart it seems as if Judy the nurse is the only one to help. Which means you have to wait hrs before you can get an answer to see if you can be seen. If you would like rapid response and care to be given as needed please seek someone who has more help to be able to help you. read more

Dr wells, where to start. He was my pediatrician when I was a wee one and now he is my daughters. I absolutely LOVE him and Judy. I remember when I called to tell them I was pregnant they remembered me after not seeing me for 7 years. And when I walked in they recognized me. Remembered all my family. Very personable people. They build relationships with the patients they treat. I wouldn't trust my daughter in anyone else's hands. I must also mention Jade, who is newer in the sense she didn't work there when I used to go way back in the day but she is awesome. Very good w my daughter and gentle with shots. (She's never given me any personally but my daughter takes them like a champ) I could go on and on about how amazing everyone in this office is... but I will just leave it at this. My son has been a patient of Dr. Wells for about 2 years. After every visit, we are more disappointed than the last with the quality of care that is being provided for our child. I do not find him the least bit knowledgeable about medicine. When I informed him that I was treating my son's allergies with over-the-counter Children's Alegra (for ages 2 and older), he had no idea that it existed! Furthermore, the wait time to be seen is atrocious! My son had an appointment at 9:20 am for a follow-up after being released from the hospital. We arrived punctually at 9:15am and waited for 50 minutes before leaving the office after finding out that Dr. Wells hadn't even come in yet! We were not informed of this earlier by his staff. As far as I know, my son was his first appointment of the day. Moreover, this isn't the first time that we have been made to wait an hour to be seen. I find Dr. Wells business practices to be completely inconsiderate of his patient's time. Furthermore, I do not trust him my son's health and wealth being. The one star is for his nurse, Judy. It appears that she does all the work for him while he seems to wander into the office at his leisure. How he has a five star rating is beyond me. We will be searching for another pediatrician. read more

My toddler girl used to be a patient of his but not anymore. We changed our pediatrician 3 months ago. Almost every time we came in he made us wait at least 30 minutes for our appt. What is the point to make an appointment for 9 AM if you're going to be seated at 9:30 AM or even 10. It is very unprofessional! The last visit was supposed to be a flu shot, 5 min. appontment. We came at 9 AM for a 9 AM appointment and so did 7 other people including one woman with a newborn. The nurse Judy was on the phone the entire time laughing. I waited and waited and finally at 9:20 I came to the front desk and said: Maybe you should tell the nurse that you have a room full of people to which she replied: She knows. So I waited 10 more minutes, nobody came, she continued talking on the phone and I left. The time before that it took 2 hours to see the doctor because he is" very thorough" and takes his time and doesn't care about your time. So if you are willing to spend that much waiting to be seen go ahead. I am not. I don't think he is worth waiting. We found a great doctor at Castro Valley Pediatrics and I am very happy. read more
