I've been coming to Dental Town for almost ten years now, and I recommend it to everyone I know. The facilities are clean and client focused (tvs, music, etc) Dr. Ryan Schwendiman has changed the entire dentistry experience for me. He does not force procedures and isn't operation happy. He's very friendly, funny, and is extremely skilled. I never feel his shots and he's always quick and efficient. I trust him and appreciate the time he takes with me each time I'm there. I could not reccomend him more. They always walk me through billing before I schedule for a procedure, and talk me through costs for insurance and out of pocket. Ive had a few hygienists, and all are friendly, efficient and caring. I genuinely feel like this place cares that I leave having a good experience, stress included. I waited a while before writing this review as I wanted to give Dental Town the benefit of the doubt and time to address this issue, which they haven't. I went in to have a crown done and to replace some fillings. I had the temporary crown put in on Feb 3rd 2025 by Dr Polusso and his assistant. After the visit I was in a lot of pain so went back on Feb 7th and was seen by Dr Bain and his assistant. I explained that I was in a lot of pain so she removed the temporary crown and went ahead and applied Gluma to the root of the tooth and hardening it using a blast of cold air THREE TIMES! By the first time she blew cold air onto my exposed root I was crying in pain, doubled up on the chair, but she didn't even consider stopping to apply a numbing agent. It was excruciating pain and she just kept going. I have no idea where Dr Bain was or why she was even allowed to preform this procedure. when she was done she tried putting the temporary crown back on, but it didn't fit well and she kept grinding it down again and again, even though I told her it was painful. In the end I just told her to stop, because I couldn't take in anymore, and left without being able to fully bite down. It was an awful experience and NOTHING was done about it, even though I called more than once. They even tried charging me extra! I can't understand how they let her treat people and why absolutely nothing was done about this. read more

My wife has been going to Dr. Ryan Schwendiman for years and cannot speak highly enough of him. My elderly mother recently moved near us and needed to see a dentist so we headed to Dental Town. Now I cannot speak highly enough about Dr. Ryan Schwendiman and his staff. Both visits for my mom were nothing short of amazing. The genuine care and concern shown my mom by Dr. Schwendiman and his staff was incredible. (For the record, my best friend growing up is a dentist so I still go back to my hometown so I can see him or else I would be with Dr. Schwendiman as well.) read more

Dr. Schwendiman has seriously impacted my quality of life. After a routine filling I spent 2 years in agony. I would mention this every single time I came by--even had some emergency appointments--every time I was told to use Sensodyne or a mouth guard because nothing was wrong, and every time I told them I had been. Finally, I had enough and went to a different dentist. Immediately, the dental assistant that took my xrays asked if I was having any pain in that area. Both her and the dentist were shocked i was able to withstand the pain of such a gnarly infection. My dentist informed me that Dr. Schwendiman hit a nerve when he did my filling. I, a struggling college student, had to spend $2,000 I saved up for my student loans on a root canal procedure to fix Dr. Schwendiman's error--and we are still waiting to see if this is enough or if I need the tooth removed. I asked for all of my records from Dental Town and did not get them until I followed up. Then, the records were not extensive and merely showed a few random xrays. No mention of any fillings I had or my complaints of excruciating pain beginning shortly after my filling. I reached out asking for some compensation and never heard back. I can't emphasize enough how much his mistake has brought me pain and impacted my every day life. There were periods where I could not sleep because of the pain. I do not recommend for going here for anything beyond a simple cleaning. read more

Dr. Schwendiman is the finest dentist I have had over my lifetime of 75 years. I have never experienced pain while in his chair. He stops periodically, asking "are you doing alright?" His reassuring chair-side manners coupled with not hurrying to his next patient, gives his patients an air of importance. Another attribute is his offering of options from extraction to filling to bonding to implants. He defines, in detail, the pluses and minuses for each occasion and lets you make the decision. Yesterday, he was able to resurface and reshape my two front teeth that have worn down from over 70 years of constant chewing and minor grinding from a bottom tooth. This was a procedure I have cringed over for the past 15 years. No pain. No Novocaine. I choose Dr. Schwendiman! read more

I found Dental Town through my insurance's website list of in network providers. Scheduled appointment 6 weeks in advance and gave my insurance information, only to be told after I checked in for my appointment that they are out of network! I have worked in two different doctors offices in my life and we always verified insurance in advance and notified patients if they were not covered in advance, not when they show up for their appointment. Now I took an afternoon off work for nothing and my time is completely wasted. Unacceptable. read more

Really think before you go with them. We had a dental challenge. They bought the practice that previously was providing us care. Long story short: we were never notified that they no longer take our insurance. They said they sent an email... A mortgage payment later NOW they tell us... And then when I asked to speak to the manager, "She's on vacation". Of course she is probably cruising all over the world with how they are ripping people off unknowingly... read more

This place is all about he money! My 8 year old had to have two cavities removed. He has extreme anxiety and did not want to use the nose mask for the laughing gas. The hygienist had zero patience and actually told me as I was trying to convince him to wear it that we would have to reschedule (we were STILL waiting on the dentist to come in) if he did not calm his crying down. I explained to her AGAIN that he had high anxiety. Dr. Davidson finally came into the room, he was 30 minutes late. I asked if we could just do one since one of the cavities were under a crown and should be falling out soon. He said no, that it would not fall out until he was around 12 y/o. $580 later....and that tooth under the filing ended up coming out NINE months later. Needless to say, we found another pediatric dentist. One that is not all about the money and has understanding, patient hygienist. read more

We have been going to the Dental Town providers for about 7 years. We have now moved over an hour away and still won't go anywhere else! We did try another dentist closer to our new home. That office couldn't find the repair Dental Town did on her cracked toothbrush Their words to her were, "Are you sure you cracked your tooth? The pediatric office is simply aMazing. We started taking our children here at the age of 4 & 1. The ladies that work with the children speak to the kids in a wAy they can understand and put them at ease. They make the experience fun, comfortable, and safe. My kids no longer fear the dentist, but see it as a fun outing, and I couldn't ask for anything more. read more

I had a very bad experience and this place is all for money. They are recommending to take an whole Dental X-ray again even though they had one which is done 9 months back. The insurance typically don't cover full x-ray more than once in the 3 year or 5 year period. My insurance also suggested to change the provider and as they were also wondering why the doctors cannot use the X-ray which they have. When I questioned the front office staff about this, they said, it is optional only if the Dr recommends during the next appointment. But on the appointment day the nurse took me straight to the X-ray room and i requested that i need to talk to the doctor. Then the specialist doctor agreed and started the appointment. At the end the Dr is saying he needs a 3D X-ray to perform the tooth removal and also need to give full anasthesia. Altogether they are expecting me to pay more $1000 out of my pocket which anyway insurance doesn't cover. The front office staffs are not at all professional and are tasked to loot money from patients by doing phantom billing. Another thing i don't understand is why in the world a specialist dr need to have a consultation appointment at the same office & the specialist Joseph Cho was not at all prepared by looking at my images at the time of appointment. He was just there to give recommendation for a series of services that insurance doesn't cover. read more

Loved the staff and dentists but their billing department is another story. Each time I have a procedure, I get a bill saying what the insurance has paid and what I owe. I settle my account right away and then sure enough I get a bill 6 -12 months later saying I'm past due on my account for them. I again go back and see what was paid by insurance and what I paid and come to find out I don't owe them anything. I'm not sure if their billing staff needs more training or if their billing practices and not legit. I have had to find a new dentist. read more

This place is FANTASTIC! Highly recommend. To begin, the adorable, clean facility is outfitted like... well, a town. A playhouse, arcade, burger shop (one of the exam rooms), ice cream shop, fish tank, etc... my son didn't want to stop playing! And more importantly, the staff is just phenomenal and makes it a pleasant experience. I took my 2yo for his first "exam" 6 months ago and it was the perfect introductory visit, as the sweet hygienists and dentist made my very anxious boy feel much more comfortable by the minute. Today we had our first cleaning and it couldn't have gone better! We had NO issues (a miracle!) and because of the awesome hygienists (and movie playing on the ceiling), he climbed into the big chair and happily let them clean his teeth, which was thankfully fairly quick but obviously thorough. Hygienist Jennifer was AWESOME (!!!). She is great at what she does - keeping a toddler entertained, engaged, and feeling secure while cleaning away his "Lightning McQueen muscles in his teeth." Such a skill! She has the perfect disposition and I highly recommend sending a fearful child her way - watch her work her magic. The dentist was also so sweet and gentle... I sat there shocked the entire time that my boy was doing so well! Five stars all around! read more

Have had 2 bad experiences with this practice- at this location & Avalon. As a new patient who made an appointment 6 weeks in advance, I received a call a few hours before the appointment that they were double booked & I needed to reschedule to later in the day. When I said I couldn't change the appointment to be later due to other commitments, the staff assured me it would stay at the original time. When I arrived for the appointment, it had been changed anyway against my wishes & without my consent. My second experience was an emergency appointment at the Avalon location. I made the appointment for the same day. When I arrived, I was told my appointment was in 2 days. Very frustrating. Obviously there is a communications breakdown somewhere. read more

After a disappointing experience with another pediatric dental practice, we were referred to Forsyth Dental Town. I couldn't be more pleased with the way they welcomed us into the practice. They rearranged their orthodontic schedule to work us in, and they worked with us to find the best financial arrangement for my son's braces.
