They confirmed that the infrastructure, water pressure, piping etc. would support the new toilet. They were careful of my hardwood floors. Really poor quality work. They work with blinders on and don't care about how their work affects the rest of your project. They made multiple obviously poor decisions without consulting me that left my project in a bad place. I decided to have another plumber remove their low quality brainless work after Erik Nelson offered to charge me more to fix these obvious mistakes. Their warranty is meaningless. Erik Nelson Plumbing was the first time we had someone work on our house. We bought our house in 2022, and before we could move in, there were a few things we needed to get fixed in our bathroom. We needed to reset our toilet, unclog our shower drain, and fix some pipes under the floor. They were in and out in one day and left our bathroom clean. They were extremely responsive and came quickly. They also were extremely communicative, letting us know what was going on with our house, what they needed to fix in the bathroom, and how much everything cost. Had a leaky clawfoot tub trap - I reached out to ENP on a Monday and had someone in my place by Thursday - it wasn't an emergency, but it was nice they could get there rather quickly. Justin talked through expectations over the phone and had a good idea of what was going to be needed. Team (Adam & Tim) showed up on time and did a great job - covered the bathroom with drop cloths, kept things tidy, explained what they were running in to, what it would take to fix it and got it done. I added on a couple of extra tasks for them since they were already here and they did those as well. Price was as expected (plumbers are expensive) but fair. Consummate professionals, I was very impressed with everything from the scheduling person who answered the phone (Justin) to the person who came to do the plumbing job (Tim). They weren't available immediately, but we had to wait less than a week to get someone in, and they budgeted enough time to get the job done the same day, so the estimate and the job ran seamlessly. I felt Tim was very respectful of our time and our home, and extremely honest and personable. We think the end price was fair, and we are very happy with the work done. Whoa --- if you need plumbers ... you need these guys! Great experience! We're recent transplants to MN, as well as first time homeowners, and I feel we have locked in our plumbing service for as long as we have pipes and water running through them :) From my initial call to the service itself. ENP was very honest and open about my options for installing a new water heater on the phone, very personable. The service appointment was also exceptional - everyone wore masks the entire time and were very courteous. All surfaces were wiped down with alcohol cleaning solution when they were done and they left my basement area cleaner than when they arrived (maybe an Erik Nelson Cleaning service is next??). Even though installation itself threw them some curveballs, they tackled them without issue, and everything has been up and working great since then. I can finally take a full bath and the hot water keeps coming! I remembered a few other random plumbing things (clogged drain, and a question about some condensation) and even though I am sure my install had taken longer than anticipated, they made time to address those issues and answer my questions too! Erik elevates the vocation of plumbing to a fine art. And he does it at a reasonable price. I have one of those lovely Minneapolis bungalows that I'm sure he sees plenty of. The first time I enlisted Erik, my main drain stack had finally started to corrode through after about 90 years of faithful service. He was sensitive to the issue of budget and made sure to offer me a solution that could limp me along for a few years, but also made it clear that for a few extra greenbacks, I could get the Cadillac of drains. As I am wont to do, I opted for the latter. A year or so later, I called Erik back to fix up the supply side of my plumbing situation. He extricated a rat's nest of copper and steel that represented 90 years of amateur and professional patch jobs and replaced it with beautiful, clean runs of PEX. Good plumber, good guy. I had some very simple stuff that needed fixing: the tub spout diverter was broken and the showerhead needed replacing. After wrestling with the tub spout, I found it impossible to remove. Erik removed it in about two seconds. He replaced everything, including the showerhead with one I purchased at Target. In less the a week the WaterPik showerhead fell to pieces (flying off the pipe and sending water everywhere). Erik was kind enough to research other brands for me, send a recommendation, put on a temporary showerhead, and then come out again and install the new one without charge. That's integrity for you! He is responsive, a straight shooter, and skilled. read more

We've used Erik Nelson's plumbing services twice now, and we've been thoroughly satisfied. He's on time, he's respectful (covers his shoes with little bootie things before coming inside), and he does good solid work. And we know he's not jacking us: his rates are very reasonable, and he even came in under his estimate by about $60 last time! His payment policies are easy peasy; you can pay online with a credit card, which has been incredibly convenient for us. Erik is very personable, and clearly knows his stuff. He seems to be in high demand, though, so I recommend calling far in advance for routine work. I can't speak to his ability to show up for emergencies, as both of our issues were not urgent. Second, he is really reasonable even for an emergency visit. Third after he viewed our pipes, he fixed the problem and then offered solutions to on how to keep it from reoccurring. The second time, I was inquiring about a leaky tub and they assumed I would want the work done right away, so suggested I "look elsewhere". Erik was superb. Honest, fairly priced, enjoyable to work with and a true master of his craft. Called him and left a message that our water heater had just failed. He called back within 15 minutes, and was over in an hour to begin draining our natural gas water heater and disconnecting it. This was in mid-afternoon, so could not get a same day delivery of the new water heater, so Erik set up a deliver for 8:00 the following morning. At 8:00am exactly Erik and the water heater delivery guy appear, new heater is installed and heating by 10:30am that morning. Erik replaced all values, used extra heavy copper piping, and replaced our flimsy aluminum vent hardware with much tougher steel, though he did not have to. He tested and retested until he was sure all gas, water and vent connections were in tip top running condition, then instructed me on operation. First class work, extremely happy. He is solo, so he may not be able to be as fast as he was with us, but Erik is the guy to call for quality work at a fair price, not easy to find in the plumbing business. Thank you Erik. read more

I cannot say enough good things about this company. I spoke to Eric on the phone about a water heater that needed replacing. He was very professional and straight-forward. Justin was the technician who actually came to do the work, and he was excellent. He was very informative and as he was working he gave me tips about the plumbing in my house and how to fix some things myself. The price estimate from ENP for the water heater was $2000 cheaper than the estimate I was given by Bonfe plumbing. When all the work was done, the total price was right in the middle of the estimate they gave me at the start. I am very satisfied with the quality of work and the price.
